1Functional properties, phenolic constituents and antioxidant potential of industrial apple pomace for utilization as active food ingredient显示文摘Apple pomace is a waste biomass generated after apple fruit processing.In present investigation,efforts were made to comprehend influence of differently dried pomace on cell wall properties and phenolic profile.Different drying techniques were employed to remove moisture content from fresh apple pomace.Total dietary fiber yield(74%)and array of functional properties such as density,water and oil holding capacity,swelling capacity and glucose dialysis retardation index(36.91%)was found better in freeze dried fraction.The higher total phenolics(5.78±0.08 mg GAE/g dry weight)content was also recorded in freeze dried fraction followed by oven and sun drying.The 50%aqueous acetone was found as more efficient solvent for extraction of phenolic constituents.RP-HPLC analysis has revealed presence of quercetin,phloridzin and phloretin as major phenolics.Thus,it is evident from the results that pomace generated at industrial scale can be utilized as a source of dietary food ingredient.Shalika Ranaa Sakshi Gupta Ajay Rana Shashi Bhushan 2015Food Science and Human Wellness2015,4,4:8

6Andrographolide inhibits chikungunya virus infection by up-regulating host innate immune pathways显示文摘Objective: To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of andrographolide, a plant derived compound, against chikungunya virus(CHIKV) infection. Methods: Using flow cytometry and immunoblotting assay, in vitro viral protein expression was studied in THP-1 cells line. In Balb/c mouse neonates, viral RNA copy number was determined by real time PCR. Results:The results showed reduced CHIKV protein expression on andrographolide treatment in CHIKV-infected human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, Vero cells and THP-I cell line.In vivo, andrographolide treatment to CHIKV-infected neonates reduced viral RNA copy number. Further. andrographolide also increased cytotoxic T lymphocytes both in vitro and in vivo. Andrographolide also activated host innate immune pathways, viz., protein kinase R.phosphorylated eukaryotic initiation factor 2 α, retinoic acid inducible gene-Ⅰ and interferon regulatory factor 3/7, thereby increasing IFN-a secretion. CHIKV-induced nuclear factor κlight chain enhancer of activated B cells and tumor necrosis factor-a was also reduced on andrographolide treatment. 10Needs of Green Buildings Innovation and Implementation Flexibility for Prompt Effectiveness in Developing Countries显示文摘The construction concept is upgrading every year and major concern is given to the environment and human health.People’s activities for the sophistication has really degraded the component of environment which has impact in global warming,heat island effect and other hazardous effect causing negative impact to human health as well as environment.Now this trend need be changed and any construction work must be in collaboration with environment which is also coined as Green Building concept.In spite of many organizations’s effort this technology is being limited to some developed countries and no major progress is concluded in specially developing countries.Lack of awareness and misconception about the green building is limiting this concept.In order to make the green world very soon the system must be commenced from the government level itself.Government of every country should make grounds rules making basic green building categories and should register those building which have fulfilled the basic categories and certification must be given from government level itself evaluating the categories(Sustainable site development,Water saving,Energy efficiency,Material Selection,Indoor Environmental quality and Design)and innovation.Innovative design and implementation of engineering concept for every category must be given high priority.This paper forwards the concept of green buildings and basic categories which can be followed by government and basic planning design for everyone who can’t afford export which can be amend and implemented as per the context.Shashi Kumar Gupta 2023Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture2023,17,7:0
11Magnetar giant flare originating from GRB 200415A:transient GeV emission, time-resolved E_(p)-L_(iso) correlation and implications显示文摘Giant flares(GFs)are unusual bursts from soft gamma-ray repeaters(SGRs)that release an enormous amount of energy in a fraction of a second.The afterglow emission of these SGR-GFs or GF candidates is a highly beneficial means of discerning their composition,relativistic speed and emission mechanisms.GRB 200415A is a recent GF candidate observed in a direction coincident with the nearby Sculptor galaxy at 3.5 Mpc.In this work,we searched for transient gamma-ray emission in past observations by Fermi-LAT in the direction of GRB 200415A.These observations confirm that GRB 200415A is observed as a transient GeV source only once.A pure pair-plasma fireball cannot provide the required energy for the interpretation of GeV afterglow emission and a baryonic poor outflow is additionally needed to explain the afterglow emission.A baryonic rich outflow is also viable,as it can explain the variability and observed quasi-thermal spectrum of the prompt emission if dissipation is happening below the photosphere via internal shocks.Using the peak energy(Ep)of the time-resolved prompt emission spectra and their fluxes(Fp),we found a correlation between Ep and Fp or isotropic luminosity Liso for GRB 200415A.This supports the intrinsic nature of Ep-Liso correlation found in SGRs-GFs,hence favoring a baryonic poor outflow.Our results also indicate a different mechanism at work during the initial spike,and that the evolution of the prompt emission spectral properties in this outflow would be intrinsically due to the injection process.Vikas Chand Jagdish C.Joshi Rahul Gupta Yu-Han Yang Dimple Vidushi Sharma Jun Yang Manoneeta Chakraborty Jin-Hang Zou Lang Shao Yi-Si Yang Bin-Bin Zhang Shashi Bhushan Pandey Ankush Banerjee Eman Moneer 2021Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2021,21,9:0

13Geographic patterns of genetic diversity and fertility restoration ability of Asian and African origin pearl millet populations显示文摘A set of 45 diverse Asian and African origin/bred populations of pearl millet were investigated multi-locationally for morphological traits including grain yield and assessed for their fertility restoration ability on three cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS) systems in two contrasting seasons. Significant genetic variation was found for all the yield linked traits. Multivariate analysis for grain yield and its component traits grouped these populations into five clusters. Most of the Asian origin populations grouped into single cluster(Cluster III) and separated from the rest of the African origin populations indicating the presence of correspondence between clustering pattern and geographical origin of the populations. Clusters dominated with Asian populations(As-As) had linkages with early flowering, short plant height, more number of tillers, small and thin panicles, small seeded and low grain yield compared to the clusters dominated by African populations(Af-Af) or African origin and Asian bred(Af-As) populations.Genetically related populations having common parentage were found grouped in same clusters.Fertility restoration/maintainer frequency of 45 populations on three diverse CMS systems revealed that overall fertility restoration frequency was highest for A1(86%) followed by A4(37%) and for A5(7%) CMS system. Five populations were identified as potential sources for developing maintainer lines for all three CMS systems and eight populations were identified specifically for A;and A;CMS systems. A set of 11 and four populations were identified for restorer line development exclusively for A;and A;CMS system,respectively. 14Phenotypic and molecular diversity-based prediction of heterosis in pearl millet(Pennisetum glaucum L.(R.)Br.)显示文摘Genetic distances between hybrid parents based on phenotypic traits and molecular markers were investigated to assess their relationship with heterosis for grain and stover yield and other traits in pearl millet(Pennisetum glaucum [L.] R. Br.). Fifty-one hybrids developed using 101 hybrid parents(B and R lines) and showing a wide range of genetic distance between their parents based on eight phenotypic traits and 28–38 SSRs were evaluated in two sets for two seasons. The correlation between Euclidean distance(phenotypic distance, ED) and simple matching distance(molecular distance, SM) for parents of both sets was low but positive and significant(r = 0.2, P < 0.001).The correlation of ED in parents with better-parent heterosis for grain yield was similar in both sets(r =0.38, P < 0.05). SM was not correlated with heterosis for grain yield in either set of hybrids.The results showed that phenotypic distance could be a better predictor of heterosis than molecular distance.
