| 1 | Measurements of dihadron correlations relative to the event plane in Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV显示文摘Dihadron azimuthal correlations containing a high transverse momentum(pr)trigger particle are sensit-ive to the properties of the nuclear medium created at RHIC through the strong interactions occurring between the traversing parton and the medium,ie.jet-quenching.Previous measurements revealed a strong modification to di-hadron azimuthal correlations in Au+Au collisions with respect to ptp and d+Au collisions.The modification in-creases with the collision centrality,suggesting a path-length or energy density dependence to the je-quenching ef-fect.This paper reports STAR measurements of dihadron azimuthal correlations in mid-central(20%-60%)Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV as a function of the trigger particle's azimuthal angle relative to the event plane,Ф_(s)=|Ф_(t)-ψ_(Ep)|.The azimuthal correlation is studied as a function of both the trigger and associated particle pr.The subtractions of the combinatorial background and anisotropic flow,assuming Zero Yield At Minimum(ZYAM),are described.The correlation results are first discussed with subtraction of the even harmonic(elliptic and quadrangu-lar)flow backgrounds.The away-side correlation is strongly modifed,and the modification varies withФ_(s),with a double-peak structure for out-of-plane trigger particles.The near-side ridge(long range pseudo-rapidity△_(η)correla-tion)appears to drop with increasingФ_(s)while the jet-like component remains approximately constant.The correla-tion functions are further studied with the subtraction of odd harmonic triangular flow background arising from fluc-tuations.It is found that the triangular flow,while responsible for the majority of the amplitudes,is not sufficient to explain theφs-dependence of the ridge or the away-side double-peak structure.The dropping ridge withФ_(s)could be attributed to aФ_(s)-dependent lliptie anisotropy;however,the physics mechanism of the ridge remains an open ques-tion.Even with aФ_(s)-dependent elliptic flow,the away-side correlation structure is robust.These results,with extens-ive systematic studies of the dihadron correlations as a function ofФ_(s),trigger and associated particle pT,and the pseudo-rapidity range△_(η),should provide stringent inputs to help understand the | 2 | Three principles for preparing Al wire with high strength and high electrical conductivity显示文摘The trade-off relation between the strength and the electrical conductivity has been a Iong-standing dilemma in metallic materials. In the study, three key principles, i.e.elongated grains, sharp texture and nano-scale precipitates, were presented for preparing Al wire with high strength and high electrical conductivity based on the specially designed experiments for breaking the mutually exclusive relation between the strength and the electrical conductivity. The results show that the elongated grains could lead to a higher electrical conductivity in Al wire without sacrificing the strength;while, the <111> sharp texture can efficiently strengthen the Al wire without influencing the electrical conductivity. Furthermore, nano-scale precipitates with proper size can simultaneously improve the strength and electrical conductivity of Al alloy wire. | 3 | PARAMETRIC STUDY FOR THE PREPARATION OF ALIGNED SINGLE-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES BY ANODE-ARC DISCHARGE METHOD显示文摘Well aligned quasi-straight single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and straight SWCNTs bundle have been prepared in large scale by anode-arc vaporization of gr aphite with metallic catalysts. Various parameters such as the catalyst preparat ion, the kinds and pressure of the buffer gases, the quantity of anode-arc curre nt intensity, and the method of purification have been examined. The influence o f these parameters on the deposited carbon yield is reported, together with obse rvations of the produced material. Improvement in synthetic techniques has resul ted in the optimal conditions for the production of large quantities of high qua lity SWCNTs in our semi-continuous synthesis method. The formation of carbon nan otubes (CNTs) was studied briefly in this paper. | 4 | Homogeneous Plastic Flow of Fully Amorphous and Partially Crystallized Zr_(41.2)Ti_(13.8)Cu_(12.5)Ni_(10)Be_(22.5) Bulk Metallic Glass显示文摘The homogeneous plastic flow of fully amorphous and partially crystallized Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk metallic glass (Vitl) has been investigated by compression tests at high temperatures in supercooled liquid region. Experimental results show that at sufficiently low strain rates, the supercooled liquid of the fully amorphous alloy reveals Newtonian flow with a linear relationship between the flow stress and strain rate. As the strain rate is increased, a transition from linear Newtonian to nonlinear flow is detected, which can be explained by the transition state theory.Over the entire strain rate interval investigated, however, only nonlinear flow is present in the partially crystallized alloy, and the flow stress for each strain rate is much higher. It is found that the strain rate-stress relationship for the partially crystallized alloy at the given temperature of 646 K also obeys the sinh law derived from the transition state theory, similar to that of the initial homogeneous amorphous alloy. | 7 | Novel ternary Ag/CeVO_4/g-C_3N_4 nanocomposite as a highly efficient visible-light-driven photocatalyst显示文摘The CeVO_4/graphitic C_3N_4 composites have exhibited much enhanced photocatalytic property for degrading methylene blue(MB) pollutant under visible light irradiation compared with single-phase g-C_3N_4 or CeVO_4. The composite S5 obtained from an optimized mass ratio(5%) of CeVO_4 to dicyanamide(DCDA) exhibits the highest photocatalytic activity. Here, ternary Ag/CeVO_4/g-C_3N_4 composites denoted as X%Ag/S5 were prepared by an ultrasonic precipitation method to improve the photocatalytic property of S5. The TEM images show that CeVO_4 and Ag nanoparticles are well distributed on the layered g-C_3N_4, which agree well with the XRD results. The UV spectra show that the 7%Ag/S5 sample has the widest absorption range and the enhanced absorption intensity under visible light irradiation. The corresponding band gap of 7%Ag/S5(2.5 eV) is much lower than that of S5(2.65 eV). The corresponding k value of 7%Ag/S5 is much higher than those of g-C_3N_4 and CeVO_4. The degradation experiments for MB solution suggest that the 7%Ag/S5 sample has the optimal photocatalytic performance, which can degrade MB solution completely within 120 min. | 8 | Soil Microbial Activities in Beech Forests Under Natural Incubation Conditions as Affected by Global Warming显示文摘Microbial activity in soil is known to be controlled by various factors. However, the operating mechanisms have not yet been clearly identified, particularly under climate change conditions, although they are crucial for understanding carbon dynamics in terrestrial ecosystems. In this study, a natural incubation experiment was carried out using intact soil cores transferred from high altitude(1 500 m) to low(900 m) altitude to mimic climate change scenarios in a typical cold-temperate mountainous area in Japan. Soil microbial activities, indicated by substrate-induced respiration(SIR) and metabolic quotient(q CO2), together with soil physicalchemical properties(abiotic factors) and soil functional enzyme and microbial properties(biotic factors), were investigated throughout the growing season in 2013. Results of principal component analysis(PCA) indicated that soil microbial biomass carbon(MBC) andβ-glucosidase activity were the most important factors characterizing the responses of soil microbes to global warming. Although there was a statistical difference of 2.82 ℃ between the two altitudes, such variations in soil physical-chemical properties did not show any remarkable effect on soil microbial activities, suggesting that they might indirectly impact carbon dynamics through biotic factors such as soil functional enzymes. It was also found that the biotic factors mainly controlled soil microbial activities at elevated temperature,which might trigger the inner soil dynamics to respond to the changing environment. | 9 | Microstructural Evolution and Service Performance of Cold-drawn Pure Aluminum Conductor Wires显示文摘Microstructures and service performance(mechanical and electrical properties) of the commercially pure Al conductor wires subjected to different cold drawing strains were investigated. The results show that the microstructures of the cold-drawn Al wires along the radial direction were inhomogeneous, i.e. the texture in the center region was strong <111> and weak <001> components, while that in the surface region shifted from the initial cubic texture to a <112> component and finally developed into a strong<111> component. The volume fraction of the high angle grain boundaries in the surface region was higher than that in the center region. The cold-drawing process greatly enhanced the yield strength of the pure Al wires while retained the acceptable electrical resistivity. | 10 | Analysis of delivery and recalculation of dose using DICOM treatment records显示文摘Objective:A procedure has been proposed for patient-specific QA that,instead of comparing a measurement to the planned dose,compares the dose calculated by an independent system to the dose calculated by the planning system.It is still prudent,however,to check the accuracy of the beam delivery.For this purpose,the DICOM records from the first treatment fraction can be compared to the planned treatment using an in-house developed planning system.Methods:Totally 1,398 patient portals were subjected to the new QA procedure.The dose distribution for each portal was first recalculated on a water phantom by two treatment planning systems and the dose distributions were compared.When agreement was observed,the patient was allowed to start treatment without a measure-ment.The record from the first day was imported into an in-house planning system which was used to evaluate the delivery for errors and calculate the delivered dose distribution and compare it to the planned dose distribution.Results:A total of 266 portals passed a strict comparison between the clinical and QA dose calculations and directly used for treatment without measurements.For those portals,the comparison of the delivery records to the plan showed that 99%of spot positions deviated less than 0.2 mm and 99.7%of spot metersets deviated by less than 0.3%.On the other hand,64 portals showed spot size deviations greater than the tolerance of15%with some as large as25%.For 32 portals in which the record was used to calculate the delivered dose distribution,the Gamma passing rates between the planned and delivered distributions were always above 95%using a 2%dose difference and 2 mm distance-to-agreement criteria.Conclusions:The new QA process has been implemented slowly with strict constraints.The amount of beam time required has been reduced while maintaining safety. | Z.Chen M.F.Moyers Y.Deng H.L.Chen J.Li Z.M.Shen J.Lin Q.Wang P.Yepes | 2022 | Radiation Medicine and Protection2022,3,3: | 2 |

| 15 | Effect of stress profile on microstructure evolution of cold-drawn commercially pure aluminum wire analyzed by finite element simulation显示文摘The evolution of microstructure in the drawing process of commercially pure aluminum wire(CPAW)does not only depend on the nature of materials, but also on the stress profile. In this study, the effect of stress profile on the texture evolution of the CPAW was systematically investigated by combining the numerical simulation and the microstructure observation. The results show that the tensile stress at the wire center promotes the formation of <111> texture, whereas the shear stress nearby the rim makes little contribution to the texture formation.
