1Measurements of dihadron correlations relative to the event plane in Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV显示文摘Dihadron azimuthal correlations containing a high transverse momentum(pr)trigger particle are sensit-ive to the properties of the nuclear medium created at RHIC through the strong interactions occurring between the traversing parton and the medium,ie.jet-quenching.Previous measurements revealed a strong modification to di-hadron azimuthal correlations in Au+Au collisions with respect to ptp and d+Au collisions.The modification in-creases with the collision centrality,suggesting a path-length or energy density dependence to the je-quenching ef-fect.This paper reports STAR measurements of dihadron azimuthal correlations in mid-central(20%-60%)Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV as a function of the trigger particle's azimuthal angle relative to the event plane,Ф_(s)=|Ф_(t)-ψ_(Ep)|.The azimuthal correlation is studied as a function of both the trigger and associated particle pr.The subtractions of the combinatorial background and anisotropic flow,assuming Zero Yield At Minimum(ZYAM),are described.The correlation results are first discussed with subtraction of the even harmonic(elliptic and quadrangu-lar)flow backgrounds.The away-side correlation is strongly modifed,and the modification varies withФ_(s),with a double-peak structure for out-of-plane trigger particles.The near-side ridge(long range pseudo-rapidity△_(η)correla-tion)appears to drop with increasingФ_(s)while the jet-like component remains approximately constant.The correla-tion functions are further studied with the subtraction of odd harmonic triangular flow background arising from fluc-tuations.It is found that the triangular flow,while responsible for the majority of the amplitudes,is not sufficient to explain theφs-dependence of the ridge or the away-side double-peak structure.The dropping ridge withФ_(s)could be attributed to aФ_(s)-dependent lliptie anisotropy;however,the physics mechanism of the ridge remains an open ques-tion.Even with aФ_(s)-dependent elliptic flow,the away-side correlation structure is robust.These results,with extens-ive systematic studies of the dihadron correlations as a function ofФ_(s),trigger and associated particle pT,and the pseudo-rapidity range△_(η),should provide stringent inputs to help understand the underlying physics mechanisms 2DETERMINATION AND APPLICATION OF LARSON-MILLER PARAMETER FOR HEAT RESISTANT STEEL 12CrlMoV AND 15CrMo显示文摘Based on the analysis and processing on relative empirical formula and data, C-values in Larson-Miller (P) expression, P = T(C + lgt), have determined for pearlitic heat resistant steel 12Cr1Mo V and 15 CrMo (20. 62 and 20. 30). The simulation experiments of high temperature aging, heated from 1.5 to 873 hours, have been designed and performed for its verification. And in combination with published information and the present nearly quantitative works, it has further been verified that both the degradations of microstructures and mechanical properties show a good accuracy and practicability using the Larson-Miller parameter with the present determined C-values. 4Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Tensile Deformation and Fracture of γ-TiAl with and without Surface Defects显示文摘Molecular dynamics simulation of uniaxial tension along [001] has been performed to study the influence of various surface defects on the initiation of plastic deformation and fracture of γ-TiAl single crystals.The results indicate that brittle fracture occurs in perfect bulk; surfaces and edges will be detrimental to the strength of materials and provide dislocation nucleation site. The defects on surfaces and edges cause further weakening with various effects depending on defect type, size, position and orientation,while the edge dimples are the most influential. For γ-TiAl rods with surface dimples, dislocations nucleate from an edge of the rod when dimples are small, dimple dislocation nucleation occurs only when the dimples are larger than a strain rate dependent critical size. The dislocations nucleated upon [001]tension are super dislocations with Burger vectors <011] or 1/2 < 112] containing four 1/6 < 112 > partials. The effects of surface scratches are orientation and shape sensitive. Scratches parallel to the loading direction have little influence, while sharp ones perpendicular to the loading direction may cause crack and thus should be avoided. This simulation also shows that, any type of surface defect would lower strength,and cause crack in some cases. 5Microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-12Si and Al-3.5Cu-1.5Mg-1Si bimetal fabricated by selective laser melting显示文摘An Al-12 Si/Al-3.5 Cu-1.5 Mg-1 Si bimetal with a good interface was successfully produced by selective laser melting(SLM).The SLM bimetal exhibits four successive zones along the building direction:an Al-12 Si zone,an interfacial zone,a texture-strengthening zone and an Al-Cu-Mg-Si zone.The interfacial zone(<0.2 mm thick)displays an increasing size of the cells composed of eutectic Al-Si and a discontinuous cellular microstructure,resulting in the lowest hardness of the four zones.The texturestrengthening zone(around 0.3 mm thick)shows a remarkable variation of the hardness and<001>fiber texture.Electron backscatter diffraction analysis shows that the grains grow gradually from the interfacial zone to the Al-Cu-Mg-Si zone along the building direction.Additionally,a strong<001>fiber texture develops at the Al-Cu-Mg-Si side of the interfacial zone and disappears gradually along the building direction.The bimetal exhibits a room temperature yield strength of 267±10 MPa and an ultimate tensile strength of 369±15 MPa with elongation of 2.6±0.1%,revealing the potential of selective laser melting in manufacturing dissimilar materials.P.Wang C.S.Lao Z.W.Chen Y.K.Liu H.Wang H.Wendrock J.Eckert S.Scudino 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,1:7

10Similarities and differences between biliary sludge and microlithiasis: Their clinical and pathophysiological significances显示文摘The terms biliary sludge and cholesterol microlithiasis(hereafter referred to as microlithiasis)were originated from different diagnostic techniques and may represent different stages of cholesterol gall-stone disease.Although the pathogenesis of biliary sludge and microlithiasis may be similar,micro-lithiasis could be preceded by biliary sludge,followed by persistent precipitation and aggregation of solid cholesterol crystals,and eventually,gallstone formation.Many clinical conditions are clearly associated with the formation of biliary sludge and microlithiasis,including total parenteral nutrition,rapid weight loss,pregnancy,organ transplantation,administration of certain medications,and a variety of acute and chronic illnesses.Numerous studies have demonstrated complete resolution of biliary sludge in approximately 40%of patients,a cyclic pattern of disappearing and reappearing in about 40%,and progression to gallstones in nearly 20%.Although only a minority of patients with ultrasonographic demonstration of biliary sludge develop gallstones,it is still a matter of controversy whether micro-lithiasis could eventually evolve to cholesterol gallstones.Biliary sludge and microlithiasis are asymp-tomatic in the vast majority of patients;however,they can cause biliary colic,acute cholecystitis,and acute pancreatitis.Biliary sludge and microlithiasis are most often diagnosed ultrasonographically and bile microscopy is considered the gold standard for their diagnosis.Specific measures to prevent the development of biliary sludge are not practical or cost-effective in the general population.Laparoscopic cholecystectomy offers the most definitive therapy on biliary sludge.Endoscopic sphincterotomy or surgical intervention is effective for microlithiasis-induced pancreatitis.Ursodeoxycholic acid can effectively prevent the recurrence of solid cholesterol crystals and significantly reduce the risk of recurrent pancreatitis.Helen H.Wang Piero Portincasa Min Liu Patrick Tso David Q.-H.Wang 2018Liver Research2018,2,4:3
11Estimation of exponential growth rate and basic reproduction number of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)in Africa显示文摘Background:Since the first case of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in Africa was detected on February 14,2020,the cumulative confirmations reached 15207 including 831 deaths by April 13,2020.Africa has been described as one of the most vulnerable region with the COVID-19 infection during the initial phase of the outbreak,due to the fact that Africa is a great commercial partner of China and some other EU and American countries.Which result in large volume of travels by traders to the region more frequently and causing African countries face even bigger health threat during the COVID-19 pandemic.Furthermore,the fact that the control and management of COVID-19 pandemic rely heavily on a country's health care system,and on average Africa has poor health care system which make it more vulnerable indicating a need for timely intervention to curtail the spread.In this paper,we estimate the exponential growth rate and basic reproduction number(R0)of COVID-19 in Africa to show the potential of the virus to spread,and reveal the importance of sustaining stringent health measures to control the disease in Africa.Methods:We analyzed the initial phase of the epidemic of COVID-19 in Africa between 1 March and 13 April 2020,by using the simple exponential growth model.We examined the publicly available materials published by the WHO situation report to show the potential of COVID-19 to spread without sustaining strict health measures.The Poisson likelihood framework is adopted for data fitting and parameter estimation.We modelled the distribution of COVID-19 generation interval(GI)as Gamma distributions with a mean of 4.7 days and standard deviation of 2.9 days estimated from previous work,and compute the basic reproduction number.Results:We estimated the exponential growth rate as 0.22 per day(95%CI:0.20-0.24),and the basic reproduction number,R0,as 2.37(95%CI:2.22-2.51)based on the assumption that the exponential growth starting from 1 March 2020.With an R0 at 2.37,we quantified the instantaneous transmissibility of the outbreak by the time-varying effective reproductive number to show the potential of COVID-19 to spread across African region.Conclusions:The initial growth of COVID-19 cases in Africa was rapid and showed large variations across countries.Our estimates should be useful in preparedness planning against further spread of the COVID-19 epidemic in Africa.Salihu S.Musa Shi Zhao Maggie H.Wang Abdurrazaq G.Habib Umar T.Mustapha Daihai He 2020Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,4:3
12Designing Bulk Metallic Glass Composites with Enhanced Formability and Plasticity显示文摘To address the main stumbling-block of bulk metallic glasses(BMGs), i.e., room temperature brittleness,designing BMG matrix composites has been attracted extensive attention. Up to date, BMG composites in various alloy systems have been successfully developed by forming crystalline phases embedded in the amorphous matrix through either ex-situ or in-situ methods. In this paper, a brief review of our recent work in this topic will be presented and the novel approaches to improving composite formability and mechanical properties will also be highlighted. The main purpose of this manuscript is not to offer a comprehensive review of all the BMG composites, but instead focuses will be placed on illustrating recently developed advanced BMG composites including Fe-based BMG composite with no metalloids, Al-based BMG composite and BMG composites reinforced by the TRIP(transformation-induced plasticity) effects. 13MHC class Ⅰ-independent activation of virtual memory CD8 T cells induced by chemotherapeutic agent-treated cancer cells显示文摘Cancer cells can evade immune recognition by losing major histocompatibility complex(MHC)class Ⅰ.Hence,MHC class Ⅰ-negative cancers represent the most challenging cancers to treat.Chemotherapeutic drugs not only directly kill tumors but also modulate the tumor immune microenvironment However,it remains unknown whether chemotherapy-treated cancer cells can activate CD8 T cells independent of tumor-derived MHC class Ⅰ and whether such MHC class Ⅰ-independent CD8 T-cell activation can be exploited for cancer immunotherapy.Here,we showed that chemotherapy-treated cancer cells directly activated CD8 T cells in an MHC class Ⅰ-independent manner and that these activated CD8 T cells exhibit virtual memory(VM)phenotypes.Consistently,in vivo chemotherapeutic treatment preferentially increased tumor-infiltrating VM CD8 T cells.Mechanistically,MHC class Ⅰ-independent activation of CD8 T cells requires cell-cell contact and activation of the PI3K pathway.VM CD8 T cells contribute to a superior therapeutic effect on MHC class Ⅰ-deficient tumors.Using humanized mouse models or primary human CD8 T cells,we also demonstrated that chemotherapy-treated human lymphomas activated VM CD8 T cells independent of tumor-derived MHC class Ⅰ.In conclusion,CD8 T cells can be directly activated in an MHC class Ⅰ-independent manner by chemotherapy-treated cancers,and these activated CD8 T cells may be exploited for developing new strategies to treat MHC class Ⅰ-deficient cancers.Xiaoguang Wang Brittany C.Waschke Rachel A.Woolaver Samantha M.Y.Chen Zhangguo Chen Jing H.Wang 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,3:3
14VARIATION OF SUBSTRUCTURES OF PEARLITIC HEAT RESISTANT STEEL AFTER HIGH TEMPERATURE AGING显示文摘The observations of dislocations, substructures and other microstructural details were conducted mainly by means of transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) for 12Cr1Mo V pearlitic heat-resistant steel. It is shown that during the high temperature long-term aging, the disordered and jumbled phasetransformed dislocations caused by normalized cooling are recovered and rearranged into cell substructures, and then the dislocation density is reduced gradually. 16瞬时受体电位香草酸亚型1通道蛋白在心肌梗死后修复和重构中的作用显示文摘目的:研究瞬时受体电位香草酸亚型1通道蛋白(TRPV1)在心肌梗死(心梗)后修复和重构中的保护作用。方法:在TRPV1基因敲除(TRPV1-/-)小鼠和野生型(WT)小鼠左冠状动脉结扎建立心梗模型后分为TRPV1-/-心梗组、野生型心梗组;假手术组分为TRPV1-/-假手术组、野生型假手术组,监测心梗后第7天的死亡率、梗死面积。免疫组化检测成肌纤维细胞渗透和胶原成分沉积,超声心动图检测左心室重构和心功能,用酶联免疫吸附法(ELISA)测定组织转化生长因子(TGF)-β1、血管内皮生长因子和基质金属蛋白酶-2的表达水平,Western blot测定Smad2的表达。结果:心梗后第7天,TRPV1-/-心梗组的死亡率高于野生型心梗组(P<0.05),TRPV1-/-心梗组梗死面积大于野生型心梗组(P<0.001)。TRPV1-/-心梗组与野生型心梗组比较,TRPV1-/-小鼠的成肌纤维细胞渗透明显增多,胶原成分沉积增加,差异有统计学意义(P均<0.05)。TRPV1-/-心梗组比野生型心梗组左心室重构加重,心功能恶化,转化生长因子、血管内皮生长因子和基质金属蛋白酶-2的表达水平增高(P均<0.05),磷酸化Smad2蛋白明显升高,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论:TRPV1缺失可能通过增强TGF-β-Smad2蛋白信号通路的表达而损害心梗后修复,加重左心室重构,死亡率增加,表明TRPV1在心梗后的修复和重构中起了保护性的作用。雷寒 柳青 黄玮 马康华 覃数 Donna H.Wang 2008中国循环杂志2008,23,6:2
