| 1 | Prospects to the formation and control of potential dimer impurity E of pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate显示文摘Pantoprazole sodium, a substituted benzimidazole derivative, is an irreversible proton pump inhibitor which is primarily used for the treatment of duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The monographs of European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) specify six impurities, viz.;impurities A, B, C, D, E and F, respectively for its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). The identification and synthesis of all impurities except impurity E are well described in the literature;however, there is no report related to impurity E. The prospects to the formation and controlling of impurity E up to -0.03% in the synthesis of pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate (PAN) were discussed in detail for the first time. The present work described the journey towards the successful development of an optimal preparation procedure of dimer impurity E. | 4 | Phenolic compounds isolated from Pilea microphylla prevent radiation-induced cellular DNA damage显示文摘Six phenolic compounds namely,quercetin-3-O-rutinoside(1),3-O-caffeoylquinic acid(2),luteolin-7-O-glucoside(3),apigenin-7-O-rutinoside(4),apigenin-7-O-b-D-glucopyranoside(5)and quercetin(6)were isolated from the whole plant of Pilea microphylla using conventional opensilica gel column chromatography and preparative HPLC.Further,these compounds were characterized by 1D,2D NMR techniques and high-resolution LC–MS.Compounds 1–3 and 6 exhibited significant antioxidant potential in scavenging free radicals such as DPPH,ABTS and SOD with IC_(50) of 3.3–20.4 mmol/L.The same compounds also prevented lipid peroxidation with IC_(50) of 10.4–32.2 mmol/L.The compounds also significantly prevented the Fenton reagent-induced calf thymus DNA damage.Pre-treatment with compounds 1–3 and 6 in V79 cells attenuated radiation-induced formation of reactive oxygen species,lipid peroxidation,cytotoxicity and DNA damage,correlating the antioxidant activity of polyphenols with their radioprotective effects.Compounds 1,3 and 6 significantly inhibited lipid peroxidation,presumably due to 30,40-catechol ortho-dihydroxy moiety in the B-ring,which has a strong affinity for phospholipid membranes.Oxidation of flavonoids,with catechol structure on B-ring,yields a fairly stable ortho-semiquinone radical by facilitating electron delocalization,which is involved in antioxidant mechanism.Hence,the flavonoid structure,number and location of hydroxyl groups together determine the antioxidant and radioprotection mechanism. | Punit Bansal Piya Paul Pawan GNayak Steve TPannakal Jian-hua Zou Hartmut Laatsch K.I.Priyadarsini M.K.Unnikrishnan | 2011 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2011,1,4: | 2 |
| 5 | Hybrid Machine Learning Model for Face Recognition Using SVM显示文摘Face recognition systems have enhanced human-computer interactions in the last ten years.However,the literature reveals that current techniques used for identifying or verifying faces are not immune to limitations.Principal Component Analysis-Support Vector Machine(PCA-SVM)and Principal Component Analysis-Artificial Neural Network(PCA-ANN)are among the relatively recent and powerful face analysis techniques.Compared to PCA-ANN,PCA-SVM has demonstrated generalization capabilities in many tasks,including the ability to recognize objects with small or large data samples.Apart from requiring a minimal number of parameters in face detection,PCA-SVM minimizes generalization errors and avoids overfitting problems better than PCA-ANN.PCA-SVM,however,is ineffective and inefficient in detecting human faces in cases in which there is poor lighting,long hair,or items covering the subject’s face.This study proposes a novel PCASVM-based model to overcome the recognition problem of PCA-ANN and enhance face detection.The experimental results indicate that the proposed model provides a better face recognition outcome than PCA-SVM. | Anil Kumar Yadav R.K.Pateriya Nirmal Kumar Gupta Punit Gupta Dinesh Kumar Saini Mohammad Alahmadi | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,8: | 2 |
| 6 | Active Learning Query Strategies for Classification,Regression,and Clustering:A Survey显示文摘Generally,data is available abundantly in unlabeled form,and its annotation requires some cost.The labeling,as well as learning cost,can be minimized by learning with the minimum labeled data instances.Active learning(AL),learns from a few labeled data instances with the additional facility of querying the labels of instances from an expert annotator or oracle.The active learner uses an instance selection strategy for selecting those critical query instances,which reduce the generalization error as fast as possible.This process results in a refined training dataset,which helps in minimizing the overall cost.The key to the success of AL is query strategies that select the candidate query instances and help the learner in learning a valid hypothesis.This survey reviews AL query strategies for classification,regression,and clustering under the pool-based AL scenario.The query strategies under classification are further divided into:informative-based,representative-based,informative-and representative-based,and others.Also,more advanced query strategies based on reinforcement learning and deep learning,along with query strategies under the realistic environment setting,are presented.After a rigorous mathematical analysis of AL strategies,this work presents a comparative analysis of these strategies.Finally,implementation guide,applications,and challenges of AL are discussed. | Punit Kumar Atul Gupta | 2020 | Journal of Computer Science & Technology2020,35,4: | 2 |
