| 2 | 射电频率干扰的消减显示文摘一直以来,射电天文装备不断得到升级和发展,以使其具有更好的观测性能,包括提高数据记录的时间和频率分辨率以及获得更高的接收和记录带宽等.然而与之形成矛盾的是:国际电信联盟(International Telecommunication Union,ITU)仅为射电天文分配了非常有限的频谱资源,导致的后果是射电观测设备不可避免地受到日益增强的非天文信号的影响,后者的来源主要是人类的通信活动和日常生活,这就构成了通常射电天文中所说的射频干扰(Radio Frequency Interference,RFI).射频干扰会降低数据质量甚至导致数据无效,对科学结果的影响越来越严重.对RFI消减的需求进行分析,总结了RFI的特性、抑制和消减的技术和方案,并介绍了一些有代表性的射电望远镜(或阵列)中采用的RFI消减方法;还分析比较了4种常用方案,即预防、预检测、预相关和后相关的优势和不足.对RFI进行准确的识别和标记是减少数据损失从而有效提高数据质量的关键,也是发展RFI消减技术的最终目的.通过研究不难发现,上述4种方案的组合运用将具有更高的实用价值.近几年来,随着高速数字信号处理和高性能计算的迅速发展,依赖大量计算的实时模式下的预检测以及离线模式下从大型望远镜阵列所产生的大规模干涉相关数据中检测RFI已经成为可能. | 安涛 陈骁 MOHAN Prashanth 劳保强 | 2017 | 天文学报2017,58,5: | 9 |
| 3 | Development of polyvinylpyrrolidone/paclitaxel self-assemblies for breast cancer显示文摘The goal of this investigation was to develop and demonstrate a polymer/paclitaxel selfassembly(PTX-SA) formulation. Polymer/PTX-SAs were screened based on smaller size of formulation using dynamic light scattering analysis. Additionally, fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry studies exhibited that polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)-based PTX-SAs(PVP/PTX-SAs) had superior cellular internalization capability in MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. The optimized PVP/PTXSAs exhibited less toxicity to human red blood cells indicating a suitable formulation for reducing systemic toxicity. The formation of PVP and PTX self-assemblies was confirmed using fluorescence quenching and transmission electron microscopy which indicated that the PVP/PTX-SAs were spherical in shape with an average size range of 53.81 nm as detected by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).FTIR spectral analysis demonstrates incorporation of polymer and paclitaxel functional groups in PVP/PTX-SAs. Both proliferation(MTS) and clonogenic(colony formation) assays were used to validate superior anticancer activity of PVP/PTX-SAs in breast cancer cells over paclitaxel. Such superior anticancer activity was also demonstrated by downregulation of the expression of pro-survival protein(Bcl-x L), upregulation of apoptosis-associated proteins(Bid, Bax, cleaved caspase 7, and cleaved PARP)and β-tubulin stabilization. | 4 | Prediction of flyrock distance induced by mine blasting using a novel Harris Hawks optimization-based multi-layer perceptron neural network显示文摘In mining or construction projects,for exploitation of hard rock with high strength properties,blasting is frequently applied to breaking or moving them using high explosive energy.However,use of explosives may lead to the flyrock phenomenon.Flyrock can damage structures or nearby equipment in the surrounding areas and inflict harm to humans,especially workers in the working sites.Thus,prediction of flyrock is of high importance.In this investigation,examination and estimation/forecast of flyrock distance induced by blasting through the application of five artificial intelligent algorithms were carried out.One hundred and fifty-two blasting events in three open-pit granite mines in Johor,Malaysia,were monitored to collect field data.The collected data include blasting parameters and rock mass properties.Site-specific weathering index(WI),geological strength index(GSI) and rock quality designation(RQD)are rock mass properties.Multi-layer perceptron(MLP),random forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM),and hybrid models including Harris Hawks optimization-based MLP(known as HHO-MLP) and whale optimization algorithm-based MLP(known as WOA-MLP) were developed.The performance of various models was assessed through various performance indices,including a10-index,coefficient of determination(R^(2)),root mean squared error(RMSE),mean absolute percentage error(MAPE),variance accounted for(VAF),and root squared error(RSE).The a10-index values for MLP,RF,SVM,HHO-MLP and WOA-MLP are 0.953,0.933,0.937,0.991 and 0.972,respectively.R^(2) of HHO-MLP is 0.998,which achieved the best performance among all five machine learning(ML) models. | Bhatawdekar Ramesh Murlidhar Hoang Nguyen Jamal Rostami XuanNam Bui Danial Jahed Armaghani Prashanth Ragam Edy Tonnizam Mohamad | 2021 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,6: | 6 |
| 5 | Proton pump inhibitors increase the severity of hepatic encephalopathy in cirrhotic patients显示文摘BACKGROUND Liver cirrhosis is the late stage of hepatic fibrosis and is characterized by portal hypertension that can clinically lead to decompensation in the form of ascites,esophageal/gastric varices or encephalopathy.The most common sequelae associated with liver cirrhosis are neurologic and neuropsychiatric impairments labeled as hepatic encephalopathy(HE).Well established triggers for HE include infection,gastrointestinal bleeding,constipation,and medications.Alterations to the gut microbiome is one of the leading ammonia producers in the body,and therefore may make patients more susceptible to HE.AIM To investigate the relationship between the use of proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)and HE in patients with cirrhosis.METHODS This is a single center,retrospective analysis.Patients were included in the study with an admitting diagnosis of HE.The degree of HE was determined from subjective and objective portions of hospital admission notes using the West Haven Criteria.The primary outcome of the study was to evaluate the grade of HE in PPI users versus non-users at admission to the hospital and throughout their hospital course.Secondary outcomes included rate of infection,gastrointestinal bleeding within the last 12 mo,mean ammonia level,and model for end-stage liver disease scores at admission.RESULTS The HE grade at admission using the West Haven Criteria was 2.3 in the PPI group compared to 1.7 in the PPI nonuser group(P=0.001).The average length of hospital stay in PPI group was 8.3 d compared to 6.5 d in PPI nonusers(P=0.046).Twenty-seven(31.8%)patients in the PPI user group required an Intensive Care Unit admission during their hospital course compared to 6 in the PPI nonuser group(16.7%)(P=0.138).Finally,10(11.8%)patients in the PPI group expired during their hospital stay compared to 1 in the PPI nonuser group(2.8%)(P=0.220).CONCLUSION Chronic PPI use in cirrhotic patients is associated with significantly higher average West Haven Criteria for HE compared to patients that do not use PPIs. | Matthew Fasullo Prashanth Rau Dong-Qi Liu Erik Holzwanger Jomol P Mathew Yurima Guilarte-Walker Gyongyi Szabo | 2019 | World Journal of Hepatology2019,11,6: | 4 |
| 6 | Submerged flexible vegetation impact on open channel flow velocity distribution: An analytical modelling study on drag and friction显示文摘In this paper,an analytical model that represents the streamwise velocity distribution for open channel flow with submerged flexible vegetation is studied.In the present vegetated flow modelling,the whole flow field has been separated into two layers vertically: a vegetated layer and a non-vegetated free-water layer.Within the vegetated layer,an analysis of the mechanisms affecting water flow through flexible vegetation has been conducted.In the non-vegetated layer,a modified log-law equation that represents the velocity profile varying with vegetation height has been investigated.Based on the studied analytical model,a sensitivity analysis has been conducted to assess the influences of the drag (CD) and friction (Cf ) coefficients on the flow velocity.The investigated ranges of CD and Cf have also been compared to published values.The findings suggest that the CD and Cf values are non-constant at different depths and vegetation densities,unlike the constant values commonly suggested in literature.This phenomenon is particularly clear for flows with flexible vegetation,which is characterised by large deflection. | Jaan H. | 15 | Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibition reveals a potential mechanism to promote neuroprotection and treat neuropathic pain显示文摘Neuropathic pain is triggered by the lesions to peripheral nerves which alter their structure and function. Neuroprotective approaches that limit the pathological changes and improve the behavioral outcome have been well explained in different experimental models of neuropathy but translation of such strategies to clinics has been disappointing. Experimental evidences revealed the role of free radicals, especially peroxynitrite after the nerve injury. They provoke oxidative DNA damage and consequent over-activation of the poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP) upregulates pro-inflammatory pathways, causing bioenergetic crisis and neuronal death. Along with these changes, it causes mitochondrial dysfunction leading to neuronal apoptosis. In related preclinical studies agents that neutralize the free radicals and pharmacological inhibitors of PARP have shown benefits in treating experimental neuropathy.
