1Metal Fabrication by Additive Manufacturing Using Laser and Electron Beam Melting Technologies显示文摘Selective laser melting (SLM) and electron beam melting (EBM) are relatively new rapid, additive manufac- turing technologies which can allow for the fabrication of complex, multi-functional metal or alloy monoliths by CAD-directed, selective melting of precursor powder beds. By altering the beam parameters and scan strategies, new and unusual, even non-equilibrium microstructures can be produced; including controlled microstructural architectures which ideally extend the contemporary materials science and engineering paradigm relating structure-properties-processing-performance. In this study, comparative examples for SLM and EBM fabricated components from pre-alloyed, atomized precursor powders are presented. These include Cu, Ti–6Al–4V, alloy 625 (a Ni-base superalloy), a Co-base superalloy, and 17-4 PH stainless steel. 2我国非点源负荷研究中的问题探讨显示文摘在非点源研究实践和查阅大量非点源文献的基础上,总结出我国非点源负荷估算中通常使用的4种方法,即断面实测总负荷减去统计的点源负荷法、单位负荷法、水文线分割法和SWAT模型估算法.分析对比了这些方法在我国和北美地区使用条件的不同和使用过程中的差异,讨论了这些方法在使用中可能产生的错误.研究结果表明,在我国目前情况下前3种方法会相当程度地高估非点源负荷量,而SWAT模型在我国的应用没有充分体现其'分布式'模型的特点;同时,由于北美和中国的情况存在较大差异使得北美地区不同土地使用方面的校正数据在中国并不可用,导致在径流模拟方面也存在很大误差,因此,负荷计算将产生更大误差.在此讨论基础上,提出了在我国农业非点源负荷研究中需注意的若干问题,并结合目前我国环境现状,提出了对国内非点源污染研究和控制的见解.于涛 孟伟 Edwin Ongley 郑丙辉 邓义祥 2008环境科学学报2008,28,3:51

5肠源性感染的实验研究显示文摘感染仍然是外科危重病人的主要死因之一。30%以上死于感染和多脏器功能衰竭病人的感染病灶,即使在尸检时也从未明确。多数感染都是由G^-杆菌、肠球菌以及白色念株菌这一类肠道常驻菌群所致。设想肠道可以是全身感染的感染源。细菌经由肠道通过肠粘膜侵入肠系膜淋巴结及体内其他脏器中的过程,国外称之谓“细菌的移居”,我们长期以来称之为“肠源性感染”。 在外科临床上,休克、营养不良、内毒素血症及以肠道内容物郁滞为特征的肠麻痹等因素常常合并存在,这些因素对于临床的感染率和病死率有促进作用。为澄清它们与肠源性感染之间的关系,本实验选用950只无特殊致病动物及无菌动物,以细菌学研究为主,病理学观察为辅,结合生化和药理学方法;利用烧伤、出血性休克、内毒素血症、蛋白质营养不良及小肠梗阻等不同动物模型;从多个方面,不同层次,对创伤后早期阶段肠源性感染的发生、发展等方面进行了系统的研究。结果发现:烧伤后早期肠道内细菌可以侵入体内;一定时限的低血容量性休克能够造成肠源性感染;循环中的内毒素可以促进肠道中细菌的侵入;蛋白质营养不良对内毒素上述的致病作用具有协同作用以及单纯小肠梗阻后肠道内细菌可进行性地侵入体内;最终导致致死性的肠源性感染。实验证明,创伤后早期阶段。马利 黎鳌 肖光夏 Edwin A Deitch 1990第三军医大学学报1990,12,1:25

7Anti-inflammatory mechanisms of the novel cytokine interleukin-38 in allergic asthma显示文摘We elucidated the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of IL-38 in allergic asthma.Human bronchial epithelial cells and eosinophils were cocultured upon stimulation with the viral RLR ligand poly(I:C)/LyoVec or infection-related cytokine TNF-αto induce expression of cytokines/chemokines/adhesion molecules.House dust mite(HDM)-induced allergic asthma and humanized allergic asthma NOD/SCID murine models were established to assess anti-inflammatory mechanisms in vivo.IL-38 significantly inhibited induced proinflammatory IL-6,IL-1β,CCL5,and CXCL10 production,and antiviral interferon-βand intercellular adhesion molecule-1 expression in the coculture system.Mass cytometry and RNA-sequencing analysis revealed that IL-38 could antagonize the activation of the intracellular STAT1,STAT3,p38 MAPK,ERK1/2,and NF-κB pathways,and upregulate the expression of the host defense-related gene POU2AF1 and anti-allergic response gene RGS13.Intraperitoneal injection of IL-38 into HDM-induced allergic asthma mice could ameliorate airway hyperreactivity by decreasing the accumulation of eosinophils in the lungs and inhibiting the expression of the Th2-related cytokines IL-4,IL-5,and IL-13 in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)and lung homogenates.Histological examination indicated lung inflammation was alleviated by reductions in cell infiltration and goblet cell hyperplasia,together with reduced Th2,Th17,and innate lymphoid type 2 cell numbers but increased proportions of regulatory T cells in the lungs,spleen,and lymph nodes.IL-38 administration suppressed airway hyperreactivity and asthma-related IL-4 and IL-5 expression in humanized mice,together with significantly decreased CCR3^(+) eosinophil numbers in the BALF and lungs,and a reduced percentage of human CD4^(+)CRTH2^(+)Th2 cells in the lungs and mediastinal lymph nodes.Together,our results demonstrated the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of IL-38 and provided a basis for the development of a regulatory cytokine-based treatment for allergic asthma.Xiaoyu Sun Tianheng Hou Edwin Cheung Tiffany Nga-Teng Iu Victor Wai-Hou Tam Ida Miu-Ting Chu Miranda Sin-Man Tsang Paul Kay-Sheung Chan Christopher Wai-Kei Lam Chun-Kwok Wong 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,6:22
8社区糖尿病患者获得社会支持与自我管理行为的相关关系显示文摘目的:探讨中国社区糖尿病患者从家人或朋友获得直接支持和间接支持的现状,以及患者获得的直接支持与间接支持水平与其自我管理行为的相关关系。方法:研究对象的数据来自'北京市通州区社区诊断(2015)'专项调查,对符合要求的474名社区糖尿病患者进行问卷调查、体格检查和糖化血红蛋白(glycated hemoglobin,Hb A1c)测量。应用糖尿病自我管理行为量表(the summary of diabetes self-care activities measure,SDSCA)对自我管理行为进行测量,应用糖尿病直接支持和间接支持量表(directive and nondirective support scale among patients with diabetes,DNSS-PD)对直接支持和间接支持水平进行测量,分析患者获得的直接支持与间接支持水平与其自我管理行为的相关关系。结果:共有452名患者纳入分析,患者获得的直接支持实际情况平均得分为2.53±1.07,27.6%患者获得的直接支持水平较高。患者获得的间接支持实际情况平均得分为3.13±1.12,50.8%患者获得的间接支持水平较高。患者SDSCA平均总得分为35.38±14.21,得分率为45.95%,仅20.6%患者自我管理的总体情况较好。直接支持水平高组患者的SDSCA平均总得分、饮食和运动维度得分、自我管理总体情况、饮食和运动维度自我管理情况显著优于直接支持水平低组。间接支持水平高组患者的SDSCA平均总得分,饮食、运动、血糖监测、足部护理、吸烟维度得分,自我管理总体情况,饮食、运动、血糖监测、足部护理以及吸烟维度自我管理情况均显著优于间接支持水平低组。性别(OR=2.729)、间接支持水平(OR=4.890)、年龄(OR=0.969)和体质指数(body msss index,BMI)(OR=0.819)是自我管理行为的重要影响因素。结论:社区糖尿病患者的自我管理情况不太理想,患者获得的间接支持水平高于直接支持水平,但均有待提升。间接支持和间接支持水平高均与糖尿病患者较好的自我管理行为相关,间接支持水平高与5个维度较好的自我管理行为均相关,直接支持水平高与较好的饮食和运动维度的自我管理行为相关。应对于社区男性老年肥胖的糖尿病患者的自我管理给予更多的关注和支持,特别是间接支持。张旭熙 吴士艳 王冯彬 玛依努尔·于苏甫 孙凯歌 胡康 张幸 孙昕霙 Edwin B·FISHER 2017北京大学学报(医学版)2017,49,3:21
9Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes promote neurogenesis and cognitive function recovery in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Studies have shown that mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes can enhance neural plasticity and improve cognitive impairment.The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes on neurogenesis and cognitive capacity in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease.Alzheimer’s disease mouse models were established by injection of beta amyloid 1?42 aggregates into dentate gyrus bilaterally.Morris water maze and novel object recognition tests were performed to evaluate mouse cognitive deficits at 14 and 28 days after administration.Afterwards,neurogenesis in the subventricular zone was determined by immunofluorescence using doublecortin and PSA-NCAM antibodies.Results showed that mesenchymal stem cells-derived exosomes stimulated neurogenesis in the subventricular zone and alleviated beta amyloid 1?42-induced cognitive impairment,and these effects are similar to those shown in the mesenchymal stem cells.These findings provide evidence to validate the possibility of developing cell-free therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer’s disease.All procedures and experiments were approved by Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee(CICUAL)(approval No.CICUAL 2016-011)on April 25,2016.Edwin E. 10Hepatitis B virus infection of transplanted human hepatocytes causes a biochemical and histological hepatitis in immunocompetent rats显示文摘AIM: To characterize the host response to hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in human hepatocytes transplanted into immunocompetent rodent rats tolerized by, and transplanted with primary human hepatocytes.METHODS: One week after the transplantation, rats were inoculated with HBV, and viral gene expression, replication,and host response was monitored.RESULTS: HBV DNA was detectable in serum for at least 60 days. HBsAg levels rose steadily for 3 weeks postinoculation and then plateaued at a level of about 0.6 pg/mi. HBV RNA was also found in liver at levels that remained constant through the time course. Immunofluorescence revealed clusters of hepatocytes that stained positive for HBcAg. The presence of HBV covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) in liver was demonstrated using nuclease digestion of single-stranded DNA followed by PCR. Serum ALT levels rose and reached a peak level of 180 IU/L on day 18, but remained elevated for 60 days. 11The Ozone Component of Global Change:Potential Effects on Agricultural and Horticultural Plant Yield,Product Quality and Interactions with Invasive Species显示文摘The productivity,product quality and competitive ability of important agricultural and horticultural plants in many regions of the world may be adversely affected by current and anticipated concentrations of ground-level ozone(O3).Exposure to elevated O3 typically results in suppressed photosynthesis,accelerated senescence,decreased growth and lower yields.Various approaches used to evaluate O3 effects generally concur that current yield losses range from 5% to 15% among sensitive plants.There is,how-ever,considerable genetic variability in plant responses to O3.To illustrate this,we show that ambient O3 concentrations in the eastern United States cause substantially different levels of damage to otherwise similar snap bean cultivars.Largely undesirable effects of O3 can also occur in seed and fruit chemistry as well as in forage nutritive value,with consequences for animal production.Ozone may alter herbicide efficacy and foster estab-lishment of some invasive species.We conclude that current and projected levels of O3 in many regions worldwide are toxic to sensitive plants of agricultural and horticultural significance.Plant breeding that incorporates O3 sensitivity into selection strategies will be increasingly necessary to achieve sustainable production with changing atmospheric composition,while reductions in O3 precursor emissions will likely benefit world food pro-duction and reduce atmospheric concentrations of an important greenhouse gas.Fitzgerald Booker Russell Muntifering Margaret McGrath Kent Burkey Dennis Decoteau Edwin Fiscus William Manning Sagar Krupa Arthur Chappelka David Grantz 2009Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,4:18

16Hypothetical mode of action of earthworm extract with hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties显示文摘The hepatoprotective potential of earthworm extract (EE) (Lampito mauritii, Kinberg) was evaluated against paracetamol-induced liver injury in Wistar albino rat, in comparison with silymarin, the standard hepatoprotective drug. We observed a reduction in liver antioxidants, such as glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), and catalase (CAT) and in serum total protein, and an increase in serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP), serum aspertate aminotranferase (AST), serum alanine aminotranferase (ALT), bilirubin and liver thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) due to liver injury in the paracetamol-administered rats (2 g/kg). On the contrary, increased activities of liver GSH, SOD, GPx, CAT and serum total protein level, and decrease in the contents of serum ALP, AST, ALT, bilirubin and liver TBARS were observed in rats administered with different doses of EE (100, 200 and 300 mg/kg), which are similar to the activities of hepato-protective drug silymarin (150 mg/kg). The mode of action of EE as evidenced by the above parameters may suggest that EE, on the one hand, prevents the formation of the reactive oxygen groups, or scavenges these groups, thereby preventing the damage on the hepatic cells, and, on the other hand, modulates the genes responsible for synthesis of antioxidant enzymes such as GPx, CAT and SOD in liver tissue and decreases the serum enzymatic activities such as ALP, AST and ALT.Mariappan BALAMURUGAN Kasi PARTHASARATHI Lalpet Souri RANGANATHAN Edwin L. 17Saposhnikoviae divaricata:a phytochemical,pharmacological,and pharmacokinetic review显示文摘Saposhnikoviae divaricata(Turcz.) Schischk(SD) is a traditional Chinese herb commonly used to treat clinical conditions such as rheumatism and allergic rhinitis. This review article evaluates a collection of works on in vitro and biochemical studies of SD. The discourse on the diverse class of chromones and coumarins in SD offers an insight to the pharmacological effects of these bioactive constituents as anti-inflammatory, analgesic, immunoregulatory, antioxidative, and anti-proliferative agents. 18Risk factors of gastric cancer specific for tumor location and histology in Cali,Colombia显示文摘AIM: To examine histology- and tumor-location specific risk factors of gastric cancer (GC). METHODS: This was a case-control study. The study subjects were 216 GC patients newly diagnosed during the period 2000-2002 and 431 controls selected from non-cancer patients matching in age, gender, and hospital. We obtained information on lifestyles, dietary habits, and others by a questionnaire. RESULTS: The subjects who were not eldest among his/her siblings were at a slightly elevated GC risk (OR 1.3; 95% CI 0.8-2.0). Salting meals before tasting was related to an increased GC risk (OR 3.5; 95% CI 1.6- 7.3). Frequent consumptions of fruits (OR 0.3; 95% CI 0.1-1.0) and vegetables (OR 0.3; 95% CI 0.1-1.0) were related to decreased GC risks. On the other hand, frying foods (OR 1.9; 95% CI 1.0-3.6) and cooking with coal (OR 1.8; 95% CI 1.3-2.6) were related to increased GC risks. Neither Lauren’s histological classification (intestinal and diffuse types) nor tumor location significantly affected those associations except birth order. The subjects who were not eldest among his/her siblings had an increased risk of GCs in the distal and middle thirds, and their ORs were 1.7 (95% CI 1.0-2.8) and 1.9 (95% CI 0.8-4.3), respectively. The corresponding OR in the upper third stomach was 0.3 (95% CI 0.1-0.9). The differences of those three ORs were statistically significant (P = 0.010). CONCLUSION: The present study shows that birth or- der, salt intake, consumption of fruits and vegetables, the type of cooking, and cigarette smoking are related to GC risk. 19Human papillomavirus in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in Colombia and Chile显示文摘AIM: To examine the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) specimens collected from Colombia and Chile located in the northern and southern ends of the continent, respectively. METHODS: We examined 47 and 26 formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded ESCC specimens from Colombia and Chile, respectively. HPV was detected using GP5+/GP6+ primer pair for PCR, and confirmed by Southern blot analysis. Sequencing analysis of L1 region fragment was used to identify HPV genotype. In addition, P16INK4A protein immunostaining of all the specimens was conducted. RESULTS: HPV was detected in 21 ESCC specimens (29%). Sequencing analysis of L1 region fragment identified HPV-16 genome in 6 Colombian cases(13%) and in 5 Chilean cases (19%). HPV-18 was detected in 10 cases (21%) in Colombia but not in any Chilean case. Since Chilean ESCC cases had a higher prevalence of HPV-16 (without statistical significance), but a significantly lower prevalence of HPV-18 than in Colombian cases (P = 0.011) even though the two countries have similar ESCC incidence rates, the frequency of HPV-related ESCC may not be strongly affected by risk factors affecting the incidence of ESCC. HPV-16 genome was more frequently detected in p16 positive carcinomas, although the difference was not statistically significant. HPV-18 detection rate did not show any association with p16 expression. Well-differentiated tumors tended to have either HPV-16 or HPV-18 but the association was not statistically significant. HPV genotypes other than HPV-16 or 18 were not detected in either country. CONCLUSION: HPV-16 and HPV-18 genotypes can be found in ESCC specimens collected from two South American countries. 20A Survey of Multi-robot Regular and Adversarial Patrolling显示文摘Multi-robot systems can be applied to patrol a concerned environment for security purposes.According to different goals,this work reviews the existing researches in a multi-robot patrolling field from the perspectives of regular and adversarial patrolling.Regular patrolling requires robots to visit important locations as frequently as possible and a series of deterministic strategies are proposed,while adversarial one focuses on unpredictable robots’moving patterns to maximize adversary detection probability.Under each category,a systematic survey is done including problem statements and modeling,patrolling objectives and evaluation criteria,and representative patrolling strategies and approaches.Existing problems and open questions are presented accordingly.Li Huang MengChu Zhou Kuangrong Hao Edwin Hou 2019IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,4:10
