| 1 | BEHAVIOR OF FLOW STRESS OF ALUMINUM SHEETS USED FOR PRESSURE CAN DURING COMPRESSION AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURE显示文摘The behavior of flow stress of Al sheets used for pressure can prepared by different melt-treat- ment during plastic deformation at elevated temperature was studied by isothermal compression test using Gleeble1500 dynamic hot-simulation testing machine. The results show that the Al sheets possess the remarkable characteristic of steady state flow stress when they are deformed in the temperature range of 350-500°C at strain rates within the range of 0.01-10.0s-1. A hyperbolic sine relationship is found to correlate well the flow stress with the strain rate, and an Arrhenius relationship with the temperature, which implies that the process of plastic deformation at ele- vated temperature for this material is thermally activated. Compared with the Al pieces prepared by no or conventional melt-treatment, hot deformation activation energy of Al sheets prepared by high-efficient melt-treatment is the smallest (Q = 168.0kJ/mol), which reveals that the hot work- ing formability of this material is very better, and has directly to do with the effective improve- ment of its metallurgical quality. | G.S. | 3 | EFFECTS OF OXIDES IN INVESTMENT MOLD ON SURFACE PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM CASTINGS显示文摘Effects of different facing oxides, including including yttria colloidal and powders (Y/Y), yttria stabilized zirconia colloidal and powders (ZY/ZY), zirconia colloidal and powders (Z/Z) and zirconia colloidal and zireonite powders (Z/ZS) on the qualities of investment castings are studied. The outward appearance, microstructures, and microhardness profiles of castings made of commercial pure titanium, Ti--Al--V and Ti--Al--Zr are investigated. Castings made by shells with yttria as face materials have the least contamination and by zirconite shells have the most contamination. | 9 | Preparation and hydrogen storage properties of nanocrystalline TiFe synthesized by mechanical alloying显示文摘In this research, the mechanism of mechanical alloying(MA) synthesis of TiFe intermetallic compound(IMC)from individual components Ti and Fe has been studied. The partition coefficient of the apparent diffusion and the reaction rate constant during MA solid-state synthesis of the TiFe intermetallic compound in a planetary ball mill have been estimated. The results indicate that the apparent diffusion coefficient is close to 10^(–11)cm^2/s that is approximately one order higher than the conventional high temperature diffusion coefficient. The reaction rate constant is close to 1.75·10^(-6). The relation between the structure and the hydrogen storage properties of MA synthesized IMC TiFe have been briefly discussed. | V.Yu.
