Current systematic reviews and meta-analyses of COVID-19显示文摘BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has left a significant impact on the world's health, economic and political systems;as of November 20,2020,more than 57 million people have been infected worldwide, with over 1.3 million deaths. While the global spotlight is currently focused on combating this pandemic through means ranging from finding a treatment among existing therapeutic agents to inventing a vaccine that can aid in halting the further loss of life.AIM To collect all systematic reviews and meta-analyses published related to COVID-19 to better identify available evidence, highlight gaps in knowledge, and elucidate further meta-analyses and umbrella reviews that are yet to be performed.METHODS We explored studies based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses with the keyterms, including severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS),SARS virus, coronavirus disease,COVID-19,and SARS coronavirus-2.The included studies were extracted from Embase,Medline, and Cochrane databases. The publication timeframe of included studies ranged between January 01,2020,to October 30,2020.Studies that were published in languages other than English were not considered for this systematic review. The finalized full-text articles are freely accessible in the public domain.RESULTS Searching Embase,Medline, and Cochrane databases resulted in 1906,669,and 19 results, respectively, that comprised 2594 studies.515 duplicates were subsequently removed, leaving 2079 studies. The inclusion criteria were systematic reviews or meta-analyses.860 results were excluded for being a review article, scope review, rapid review, panel review,or guideline that produced a total of 1219 studies. After screening articles were categorized, the included articles were put into main groups of clinical presentation,epi-demiology,screening and diagnosis, severity assessment, special populations, and treatment.Subsequently, there was a second subclassification into the following groups:gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, neurological, stroke, thrombosis, anosmia and dysgeusia, ocular manifestations, nephrology, cutaneous manifestations,D-dimer,lymphocyte,anticoagulation,antivirals,convalescent plasma,immunosuppressants,corticosteroids,hydroxychloroquine,renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, technology, diabetes mellitus, obesity, pregnancy, children, mental health, smoking, cancer, and transplant.CONCLUSION Among the included articles,it is clear that further research is needed regarding treatment options and vaccines. With more studies, data will be less heterogeneous, and statistical analysis can be better applied to provide more robust clinical evidence. This study was not designed to give recommendations regarding the management of COVID-19. | Mahmoud Nassar Nso Nso Mostafa Alfishawy Anastasia Novikov Salim Yaghi Luis Medina Bahtiyar Toz Sofia Lakhdar Zarwa Idrees Yungmin Kim Dawa Ongyal Gurung Raheel S Siddiqui David Zheng Mariam Agladze Vikram Sumbly Jasmine Sandhu Francisco Cuevas Castillo Nadya Chowdhury Ravali Kondaveeti Sakil Bhuiyan Laura Guzman Perez Riki Ranat Carlos Gonzalez Harangad Bhangoo John Williams Alaa Eldin Osman Joyce Kong Jonathan Ariyaratnam Mahmoud Mohamed Ismail Omran Mariely Lopez Akwe Nyabera Ian Landry Saba Iqbal Anoosh Zafar Gondal Sameen Hassan Ahmed Daoud Bahaaeldin Baraka Theo Trandafirescu Vincent Rizzo | 2021 | World Journal of Virology2021,10,4: | 2
ABO incompatibility in renal transplantation显示文摘ABO blood group incompatibility(ABO-I)was historically considered an absolute contraindication to kidney transplantation due to the significant risk of acute antibody-mediated rejection and early graft loss.Nevertheless, the urge to minimize the gap between the candidates’number on the waitlist for kidney transplants and the available kidney donors encourage investigation into finding ways to use organs from ABO-I kidney donors, especially in the era of using more potent immunosuppression therapies. This review aims to discuss a general overview of ABO-I kidney transplantation and the different protocols adopted by some transplant centers to meaningfully overcome this barrier. | Mahmoud Mohamed Tara Sweeney Duaa Alkhader Mahmoud Nassar Ahmed Alqassieh Sofia Lakhdar Nso Nso Tibor Fulop Ahmed Daoud Karim M Soliman | 2021 | World Journal of Transplantation2021,11,9: | 2
Amblyopia screening for first and second-grade children in Jordan显示文摘AIM:To share the results of a national screening program for amblyopia in school children in the north of Jordan.METHODS:This is a prospective national screening study for amblyopia. The program rolls first and second-grade children(6 to 7 years old) in the north of Jordan. The eye examination included:best-corrected visual acuity,cover-uncover test, and cycloplegic retinoscopy.Monocular visual acuity was tested using an ETDRS visual acuity chart without correction. Moreover, children were tested with full cycloplegic refraction when the test criteria were met.Unilateral amblyopia was defined as a best-corrected visual acuity difference of 2 or more lines. In comparison, bilateral amblyopia was defined as a best-corrected visual acuity of 20/40 or worse in the best eye.RESULTS:The prevalence of amblyopia for the total sample tested(n=17 203) was 2.78%(n=479).The most common cause of amblyopia was hypermetropia(64.45%),followed by previous ocular surgeries(15.1%),myopia(10.43%),strabismus(9.39%),and congenital cataract(0.63%).CONCLUSION:This is the first and only study, identifing modifiable risk factors in Jordanian children with amblyopia. In their first couple of years of elementary education, many Jordanian children are affected by amblyopia and pass unnoticed.A more governmental effort is needed into screening programs to improve vision in the Jordanian population. | Khalil M.Al-Salem Mohammad S.Saleem Ismat Ereifej Hamzeh M.Alrawashdeh Rayed Falah Hussein Obeidat Asma Ali Abdlmohdi Raeda Zaki Al-Momani Layal Mohammed Hammad Omar Ahmad al-Habahbeh Yaqeen M.Assassfeh Laith Ramzi Najib Al-Qsous Ashraf Hatim Adeeb Nasraween Tariq A.Al Maaitah Deya'-Aldin Muneer Hasan Aqeel Ibtehal Eyadeh Awad Alabdulrazzg Abdullah Mahmoud Mohammad Murad Amany Jehad Faleh AL-Zurqan Enas Jamal Mohammad Jaradat Slsabela Emad Suliman Aldhoon Ala'a Majed Dmour Ahmad Talal Asassfeh Jeries Ayman Halaseh Abdel Aziz Ammar Daoud Waha Ayman Alkasasbeh Kholoud GH.Matar | 2022 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2022,15,2: | 1
Enhanced dielectric and electrocaloric properties in lead-free rod-like BCZT ceramics显示文摘Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.10Ti0.90O3(BCZT)lead-free ceramics demonstrated excellent dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties at the morphotropic phase boundary(MPB).So far,to study the effect of morphological changes on dielectric and ferroelectric properties in lead-free BCZT ceramics, researchers have mostly focused on the influence of spherical grain shape change. In this study,BCZT ceramics with rod-like grains and aspect ratio of about 10 were synthesized by surfactant-assisted solvothermal route.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and selected area electron diffraction(SAED)performed at room temperature confirm the crystallization of pure perovskite with tetragonal symmetry.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)image showed that BCZT ceramics have kept the 1D rod-like grains with an average aspect ratio of about 4.Rod-like BCZT ceramics exhibit enhanced dielectric ferroelectric(εr=11,906,tanδ=0.014,Pr=6.01μC/cm^2,and Ec=2.46 kV/cm),and electrocaloric properties(ΔT=0.492 K andz=0.289(K×mm)/kV at 17 kV/cm)with respect to spherical BCZT ceramics.Therefore,rod-like BCZT lead-free ceramics have good potential to be used in solid-state refrigeration technology. | Zouhair HANANI Soukaina MERSELMIZ Abdelaadim DANINE Nicolas STEIN Daoud MEZZANE M’barek AMJOUD Mohammed LAHCINI Yaovi GAGOU Matjaz SPREITZER Damjan VENGUST Zdravko KUTNJAK Mimoun El MARSSI Igor ALUK'YANCHUK Mohamed GOUNE | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,2: | 1

Exploring physical features of anisotropic quark stars in Brans-Dicke theory with a massive scalar field via embedding approach显示文摘The main aim of this study is to explore the existence and salient features of spherically symmetric relativistic quark stars in the background of massive Brans-Dicke gravity. The exact solutions to the modified Einstein field equations are derived for specific forms of coupling and scalar field functions using the equation of state relating to the strange quark matter that stimulates the phenomenological MIT-Bag model as a free Fermi gas of quarks. We use a well-behaved function along with the Karmarkar condition for class-one embedding as well as junction conditions to determine the unknown metric tensors. The radii of strange compact stars viz.,PSR J1416-2230,PSR J1903+327,4U 1820-30,CenX-3,and EXO1785-248,are predicted via their observed mass for different values of the massive Brans-Dicke parameters. We explore the influences of the mass of scalar field m_(ϕ),coupling parameter ωBD,and bag constant B on state determinants and perform several tests on the viability and stability of the constructed stellar model.Conclusively,we find that our stellar system is physically viable and stable as it satisfies all the energy conditions and necessary stability criteria under the influence of a gravitational scalar field. | Abdelghani Errehymy G.Mustafa Youssef Khedif Mohammed Daoud | 2022 | Chinese Physics C2022,46,4: | 0
Novel lead-free BCZT-based ceramic with thermally-stable recovered energy density and increased energy storage efficiency显示文摘The eco-responsible lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been intensively searched for more than adecade, however, the final goal to replace toxic ceramics like lead zirconate titanate (PZT) with lead-freecompounds, having comparable or even better performance has not yet been reached. In this road, thelead-free ceramics Ba_(0.85)Ca_(0.15)Zr_(0.1)Ti_(0.9)O_(3) (BCZT), possessing excellent dielectric, ferroelectric, andpiezoelectric properties are regarded as serious candidates for the PZT replacement. Besides, nano-structuring BCZT is of paramount importance to enhance these functionalities even more. Here, BCZTmultipodes are designed by template-growth hydrothermal synthesis using hydrogen zirconate titanatenanowires. We demonstrate that the fabricated BCZT multipodes exhibit high dielectric permittivity of5300 with a temperature stability coefficient of ±5.9% between 20 and 140℃. A significant recoveredenergy density of 315.0 mJ/cm^(3) with high thermal stability and high energy storage efficiency of 87.4%,and enhanced large-signal piezoelectric coefficient d^(*)_(33) (310 pm/V) are found. Compared to the tradi-tional BCZT ceramics reported in the literature, relying on high-temperature processing, our sampleexhibits boosted energy storage parameters at a much lower temperature. These outcomes may offer anew strategy to tailor eco-responsible relaxor ferroelectrics toward superior energy storage performancefor ceramic capacitor applications. | Zouhair Hanani Soukaina Merselmiz M'barek Amjoud Daoud Mezzane Mohammed Lahcini Jaafar Ghanbaja Matjaz Spreitzer Damjan Vengust Mimoun El Marssi Igor A.Luk'yanchuk Zdravko Kutnjak Brigita Rozic Mohamed Goune | 2022 | Journal of Materiomics2022,8,4: | 0
Exploring physical properties of compact stars in f(R,T)-gravity:An embedding approach显示文摘Solving field equations exactly in f(R,T)−gravity is a challenging task.To do so,many authors have adopted different methods such as assuming both the metric functions and an equation of state(EoS)and a metric function. However, such methods may not always lead to well-behaved solutions, and the solutions may even be rejected after complete calculations.Nevertheless, very recent studies on embedding class-one methods suggest that the chances of arriving at a well-behaved solution are very high, which is inspiring. In the class-one approach, one of the metric potentials is estimated and the other can be obtained using the Karmarkar condition. In this study,a new class-one solution is proposed that is well-behaved from all physical points of view. The nature of the solution is analyzed by tuning the f(R,T)−coupling parameterχ,and it is found that the solution leads to a stiffer EoS forχ=−1 than that forχ=1.This is because for small values ofχ,the velocity of sound is higher, leading to higher values of Mmax in the M−R curve and the EoS parameterω.The solution satisfies the causality condition and energy conditions and remains stable and static under radial perturbations(static stability criterion)and in equilibrium(modified TOV equation). The resulting M−R diagram is well-fitted with observed values from a few compact stars such as PSR J1614-2230,Vela X-1,Cen X-3,and SAX J1808.4-3658.Therefore,for different values ofχ,the corresponding radii and their respective moments of inertia have been predicted from the M−I curve. | Ksh.Newton Singh Abdelghani Errehymy Farook Rahaman Mohammed Daoud | 2020 | Chinese Physics C2020,44,10: | 0
Hypertension and obesity in living kidney donors显示文摘Over the past few decades, the shortage in the kidney donor pool as compared to the increasing number of candidates on the kidney transplant waitlist led to loosening of kidney donors’acceptance criteria.Hypertension and obesity represent risk factors for chronic kidney disease, both in native kidneys and those in kidney transplant recipients. While great progress has been made in kidney transplantation from living donors to benefit the recipient survival and quality of life, progress has been slow to fully risk-characterize the donors. This review critically reassesses the current state of understanding regarding the risk of endstage kidney disease in those donors with obesity, hypertension or both.Accurate risk assessment tools need to be developed urgently to fully understand the risk glomerular filtration rate compensation failure in the remaining kidney of the donors. | Mahmoud M Mohamed Ahmed Daoud Syed Quadri Michael J Casey Mariah Aurora Posadas Salas Vinaya Rao Tibor Fülöp Karim M Soliman | 2021 | World Journal of Transplantation2021,11,6: | 0
Coronavirus disease 2019 and renal transplantation显示文摘Ever since the severe acute respiratory syndrome virus causing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)struck the world, global health strategies have changed significantly.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, kidney transplant recipients are stratified as being high risk of developing fatal illness from COVID-19 infection.Kidney transplant is the gold-standard treatment for end-stage kidney disease subjects.During the pandemic, significant concerns have emerged regarding continuation of kidney transplant surgeries and management of kidney transplant recipients post-transplant.The added risk of immunosuppression in this cohort was and remains a theoretical concern, posing a potential risk of transplantation rather than benefit. This comprehensive review aims to cover most of the faced challenges in kidney transplantation in different stages of the pandemic. In addition,it will elucidate the epidemiology, nature, course of the disease, surgical consideration in donors and recipients as well as role of immunosuppression and management of COVID-19 infected kidney transplant recipients during these extraordinary circumstances. | Mahmoud Nassar Nso Nso Jonathan Ariyaratnam Jasmine Sandhu Mahmoud Mohamed Bahaaeldin Baraka Atif Ibrahim Mostafa Alfishawy David Zheng Harangad Bhangoo Karim M Soliman Matthew Li Vincent Rizzo Ahmed Daoud | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,27: | 0
