| 2 | Static Analysis of Functionally Graded Sandwich Plates Using an Efficient and Simple Refined Theory显示文摘In this paper, a new displacement based high-order shear deformation theory is introduced for the static response of function-ally graded sandwich plate. Unlike any other theory, the number of unknown functions involved is only four, as against five in case of other shear deformation theories. The theory presented is variationally consistent, has strong similarity with classical plate theory in many aspects, does not require shear correction factor, and gives rise to transverse shear stress variation such that the transverse shear stresses vary parabolically across the thickness satisfying shear stress free surface conditions. Two common types of functionally graded sandwich plates, namely, the sandwich with functionally graded facesheet and homogeneous core and the sandwich with homogeneous facesheet and functionally graded core, are considered. Governing equations are derived from the principle of virtual displacements. The closed-form solution of a simply supported rectangular plate subjected to sinu-soidal loading has been obtained by using the Navier method. The validity of the present theory is investigated by comparing some of the present results with those of the classical, the first-order and the other higher-order theories. | 3 | Spatial Evolution Study of EEDFs and Plasma Parameters in RF Stochastic Regime by Langmuir Probe显示文摘An RF compensated cylindrical Langmuir probe system has been developed and used to characterize an RF capacitive two temperature plasma discharge in a stochastic mode.The novelty of the work presented here is the use of the driven electrode(cathode)without ground shield.Measurements of the electron energy distribution function(EEDF)and plasma parameters were achieved under the following conditions:50 W of RF power and 5×10-2mbar of argon pressure.The probe measurements are performed at 3 cm above the electrode and the probe was shifted radially(r direction)from the center(r=0 cm)of the inter-electrodes region towards the chamber wall(R=10.75 cm).The results show that the EEDF is bi-Maxwellian and its shape remains the same through the scanned region.The farther the probe from the central region,the lower the EEDF maximum.The plasma density is observed to decrease according to a Gaussian profile along the radial direction and falls to 50%of its maximum when close to the cathode edge(r=5.5 cm).At the same time the effective electron temperature remains constant for r<4 cm and increases for r≥4 cm.The high-temperature and low-temperature electrons’densities and temperatures are also discussed in the article. | Djelloul MENDIL Hadj LAHMAR Laifa BOUFENDI | 2014 | Plasma Science and Technology2014，16，9： | 3 |
| 4 | A quadratic linear-parabolic model-based EEG classification to detect epileptic seizures显示文摘The two-point central difference is a common algorithm in biological signal processing and is particularly useful in analyzing physiological signals.In this paper,we develop a model-based classification method to detect epileptic seizures that relies on this algorithm to filter electroencephalogram(EEG) signals.The underlying idea was to design an EEG filter that enhances the waveform of epileptic signals.The filtered signal was fitted to a quadratic linear-parabolic model using the curve fitting technique.The model fitting was assessed using four statistical parameters,which were used as classification features with a random forest algorithm to discriminate seizure and non-seizure events.The proposed method was applied to 66 epochs from the Children Hospital Boston database.Results showed that the method achieved fast and accurate detection of epileptic seizures,with a92% sensitivity,96% specificity,and 94.1% accuracy. | Antonio Quintero-Rincon Carlos DGiano Hadj Batatia | 2020 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2020，34，3： | 2 |

| 6 | Investigation of Extracts from Tunisian Ethnomedicinal Plants as Antioxidants,Cytotoxins,and Antimicrobials显示文摘Objective To determine the medicinal potential of various plants and their parts extracted with different solvents. Methods The total phenolic content of acetonitrile/water(60%-40%)(ACN/W) and aqueous(W) extract fractions was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC), and terpenic compounds were detected by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS). Antioxidant activity of the samples was evaluated using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) assay and β-carotene bleaching method. Cell viability was investigated by thiazolyl blue tetrazolium bromide [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol)-2-yl 2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide](MTT) assay. The mechanisms involved in cytotoxic activity were investigated in a murine macrophage cell line(RAW 264.7) and cancer lines. Results Our findings show that 11 plant species exhibited biological activity. In addition, moderate antibacterial activity was reported against one or more of the tested bacterial strains at two concentrations: 300 μg and 3 mg/disc. Furthermore, our data reveal that among all plants investigated, some extract and hydrophobic fractions were potent scavengers of the DPPH radical(6.78 μg/m L < EC50 < 8.55 μg/mL). Taken together, our results show that Nerium oleander(NOACN/W) and Pituranthos tortuosus(PTACN/W) were highly cytotoxic against RAW 264.7 cells with IC80 values of 0.36, and 1.55 μg/mL, respectively. In contrast, murine macrophage cell lines had low growth and were significantly sensitive to water extracts of Thymus hirtus sp. algeriensis(THW), Lavandula multifida(LMW), and ACN/W extract of Erica multiflora(EMACN/W) at doses > 400, 47.20, and 116.74 μg/m L, respectively. The current work demonstrates that RAW 264.7 cell proliferation was inhibited by samples in a dose-dependent manner. | 7 | Characterization of Tunisian marine sediments in Rades and Gabes harbors显示文摘The objective of this article is to study the geotechnical and environmental characteristics of sediments dredged from two Tunisian harbors:Rades and Gabes.The first harbor represents the main facility place in the national transport chain.The second one is selected as its sediments present a serious ecological constraint caused by the discharge of wastes into the marine environment.These sediments are either discarded at sea or landfilled despite their harmful effects on the environment.The article is divided into three main sections.The first one presents the material that was carried for Rades and Gabes harbors.The conservation conditions and the used experimental tests are detailed.Geotechnical characterization includes the determination of the grain size distribution,the water content,the Atterberg limits,the methylene blue value,the specific area,the bulk density,the specific unit weight,the organic and carbonate contents.Environmental characterization is assessed by the determination of metals concentrations in a leaching solution.The second section deals with the description and analysis of geotechnical properties of Rades and Gabes harbors' sediments.The results obtained show that Rades harbor sediments are slightly sandy clayey silts whereas Gabes harbor sediments are silty sands characterized by a highly plastic clay fraction.Both of the two sediments don't exhibit a high organic content.Finally,chemical,mineralogical and environmental properties are presented and then analysed.The experimental results obtained show that Rades and Gabes sediments could be used as a sand substitute in the formulation of a new construction material.Gabes harbor sediments are more polluted than Rades harbor sediments. | Imen BEL HADJ ALI Zoubeir LAFHAJ Mounir BOUASSIDA Imen SAID | 2014 | International Journal of Sediment Research2014，29，3： | 2 |
