| 1 | Silymarin-laden PVP-PEG polymeric composite for enhanced aqueous solubility and dissolution rate: Preparation and in vitro characterization显示文摘The aim of this work was to develop, optimize and characterize a silymarin-laden polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)-polyethylene glycol(PEG) polymeric composite to resolve low aqueous solubility and dissolution rate problem of the drug. A number of silymarin-laden polymeric formulations were fabricated with different quantities of PVP K-30 and PEG 6000 by the solvent-evaporation method. The effect of PVP K-30 and PEG 6000 on the aqueous solubility and dissolution rate was investigated. The optimized formulation and its constituents were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) techniques. Both the PEG 6000 and PVP K-30 positively affected the aqueous solubility and dissolution rate of the drug. In particular, a formulation consisting of silymarin, PVP K-30 and PEG 6000(0.25/1.5/1.5, w/w/w) furnished the highest solubility(24.3972.95 mg/mL) and an excellent dissolution profile( $100% in 40 min). The solubility enhancement with this formulation was $ 1150-fold as compared to plain silymarin powder. Moreover, all the constituents existed in the amorphous state in this silymarin-laden PVP-PEG polymeric composite. Solms) is a prolific free floating aquatic macrohpyte found in tropical and subtropical parts of the earth. The effects of pollutants from textile wastewater on the anatomy of the plant were studied. Water hyacinth exhibits hydrophytic adaptations which include reduced epidermis cells lacking cuticle in most cases, presence of large air spaces (7~50 μm), reduced vascular tissue and absorbing structures. | 3 | Prediction of Anoxic Sulfide Biooxidation Under Various HRTs Using Artificial Neural Networks显示文摘Objective During present investigation the data of a laboratory-scale anoxic sulfide oxidizing (ASO) reactor were used in a neural network system to predict its performance. Methods Five uncorrelated components of the influent wastewater were used as the artificial neural network model input to predict the output of the effluent using back-propagation and general regression algorithms. The best prediction performance is achieved when the data are preprocessed using principal components analysis (PCA) before they are fed to a back propagated neural network. Results Within the range of experimental conditions tested, it was concluded that the ANN model gave predictable results for nitrite removal from wastewater through ASO process. The model did not predict the formation of sulfate to an acceptable manner. Conclusion Apart from experimentation, ANN model can help to simulate the results of such experiments in finding the best optimal choice for ASO based denitrification. | 14 | 杰赫勒姆河流域跨境区域日气象数据质量控制与同质化(英文)显示文摘Many studies such as climate variability, climate change, trend analysis, hydrological designs, agriculture decision-making etc. require long-term homogeneous datasets. Since homogeneous climate data is not available for climate analysis in Pakistan and India, the present study emphases on an extensive quality control and homogenization of daily maximum temperature, minimum temperature and precipitation data in the Jhelum River basin, Pakistan and India. A combination of different quality control methods and relative homogeneity tests were applied to achieve the objective of the study. To check the improvement after homogenization, correlation coefficients between the test and reference series calculated before and after the homogenization process were compared with each other. It was found that about 0.59%, 0.78% and 0.023% of the total data values are detected as outliers in maximum temperature, minimum temperature and precipitation data, respectively. About 32% of maximum temperature, 50% of minimum temperature and 7% of precipitation time series were inhomogeneous, in the Jhelum River basin. After the quality control and homogenization, 1% to 11% improvement was observed in the infected climate variables. This study concludes that precipitation daily time series are fairly homogeneous, except two stations(Naran and Gulmarg), and of a good quality. | 17 | Bandgap engineering to tune the optical properties of Be_xMg_(1-x)X(X=S, Se, Te) alloys显示文摘Structural, electronic, and optical properties of alloys Be_xMg_(1-x)X(X = S, Se, Te) in the assortment 0 < x < 1 were theoretically reported for the first time in zinc-blende(ZB) phase. The calculations were carried out by using full-potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbitals(FP-LAPW+lo) formalism contained by the framework of density functional theory(DFT). Wu-Cohen(WC) generalized gradient approximation(GGA), based on optimization energy,has been applied to calculate these theoretical results. In addition, we used Becke and Johnson(m BJ-GGA) potential,modified form of GGA functional, to calculate electronic structural properties up to a high precision degree. The alloys were composed with the concentrations x = 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 in pursuance of ‘special quasi-random structures'(SQS)approach of Zunger for the restoration of disorder around the observed site of alloys in the first few shells. The structural parameters have been predicted by minimizing the total energy in correspondence of unit cell volume. Our alloys established direct band gap at different concentrations that make their importance in optically active materials. Furthermore, density of states was discussed in terms of the contribution of Be and Mg s and chalcogen(S, Se, and Te) s and p states and observed charge density helped us to investigate the bonding nature. | 18 | BitmapAligner:Bit-Parallelism String Matching with MapReduce and Hadoop显示文摘Advancements in next-generation sequencer(NGS)platforms have improved NGS sequence data production and reduced the cost involved,which has resulted in the production of a large amount of genome data.The downstream analysis of multiple associated sequences has become a bottleneck for the growing genomic data due to storage and space utilization issues in the domain of bioinformatics.The traditional string-matching algorithms are efficient for small sized data sequences and cannot process large amounts of data for downstream analysis.This study proposes a novel bit-parallelism algorithm called BitmapAligner to overcome the issues faced due to a large number of sequences and to improve the speed and quality of multiple sequence alignment(MSA).The input files(sequences)tested over BitmapAligner can be easily managed and organized using the Hadoop distributed file system.The proposed aligner converts the test file(the whole genome sequence)into binaries of an equal length of the sequence,line by line,before the sequence alignment processing.The Hadoop distributed file system splits the larger files into blocks,based on a defined block size,which is 128 MB by default.BitmapAligner can accurately process the sequence alignment using the bitmask approach on large-scale sequences after sorting the data.The experimental results indicate that BitmapAligner operates in real time,with a large number of sequences.Moreover,BitmapAligner achieves the exact start and end positions of the pattern sequence to test the MSA application in the whole genome query sequence.The MSA’s accuracy is verified by the bitmask indexing property of the bit-parallelism extended shifts(BXS)algorithm.The dynamic and exact approach of the BXS algorithm is implemented through the MapReduce function of Apache Hadoop.Conversely,the traditional seeds-and-extend approach faces the risk of errors while identifying the pattern sequences’positions.Moreover,the proposed model resolves the largescale data challenges that are covered through MapReduce in the Hadoop framework.Hive,Yarn,HBase,Cassandra,and many other pertinent flavors are to be used in the future for data structuring and annotations on the top layer of Hadoop since Hadoop is primarily used for data organization and handles text documents. | Mary Aksa Junaid Rashid Muhammad Wasif Nisar Toqeer Mahmood Hyuk-Yoon Kwon Amir Hussain | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,9: | 0 |
| 19 | Structural and optical properties of Zn_(1-x)Ni_xTe thin films prepared by electron beam evaporation technique显示文摘Zn1-xNixTe thin films with different composition(x=0.0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20) were deposited on glass substrate by electron beam evaporation technique followed by its characterization using advanced structural and optical analysis techniques. Structural properties of the prepared thin films were studied by X-ray diffraction(XRD). The XRD patterns revealed that the binary compounds transformed into a ternary compound with cubic structure having preferred orientation along the c-direction with(111) planes. Composition analysis of the films was determined by energy dispersive analysis of X-rays(EDAX) and found to be in agreement with the precursor composition. Optical properties such as extinction coefficient(k) and band gap energy of these films were examined by using a spectroscopic ellipsometer. It was found that the extinction coefficient(k) increased with the addition of Ni content in the alloy. In comparison, the band gap energy was also determined by using transmission spectra and found to be agreed with that of the ellipsometric results. | 20 | Photoluminescence and structural analysis of wurtzite(ZnO)1-x(V2O5)x composite显示文摘This paper demonstrates the structural, vibrational and photoluminescence characteristics of(ZnO)_(1-x)(V_2O_5)_x(x = 0, 3, 6 and 9 mol%) composites semiconductor synthesized by using the solid state reaction method. X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies show that(ZnO)_(1-x)(V_2O_5)_x composites have the poly crystalline wurtzite structure of hexagonal Zn O. It is found from the XRD results that the lattice constants and the crystallite size increase while the dislocation density decreases with increase in doping concentration. The existence of E1(TO) and E2(high) Raman modes show that the Zn O still preserve wurtzite structure after doping vanadium oxide, which is in agreement with XRD results. Room temperature photoluminescence(PL) exhibit near band edge and broad deep level emission while indicating the suppression of deep level emission with the incorporation of V_2O_5 up to a certain concentration(x < 9).
