5Efficacy and safety of Yinchenwuling powder for hyperlipidemia: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess the clinical effectiveness and adverse effects of Yinchenwuling powder(YCWLP)in the treatment of hyperlipidemia using Meta-analysis.METHODS:Seven electronic databases were searched for randomized controlled trials designed to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of YCWLP for hyperlipidemia published in any language prior to February 2015.Two reviewers independently identified articles,extracted data,assessed quality,and cross-checked the results.Revman 5.3 was used to analyze the data.RESULTS:Only five randomized controlled trials with poor methodology were included in the analy-sis.The five trials compared YCWLP with conventional lipid-lowering drugs.Meta-analysis indicated that YCWLP was more effective at the levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides,while increasing the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol without serious adverse effects.However,it was not more effective than lipid-lowering drugs in reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and improving hemorheology.CONCLUSION:YCWLP appeared to improve lipid levels.However,given the high risk of bias among the trials,we could not conclude that YCWLP was beneficial to patients with hyperlipidemia.More rigorous trials are required to provide stronger evidence for the conclusion.Yao Haiqiang Zhang Zengliang Wang Ji Zuo Jiacheng Chen Yu Zhu Libing Li Xiaoke Yang Zheng Wang Zisong Sun Ranran Xu Xuanxuan Li Changming Wu Yanling Li Lingru Wang Qi 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2:11
6Application and safety assessment for nano-composite materials in food packaging显示文摘The technical breakthroughs and rapid developments in nanotechnologies enabling goods and products based on nanomaterials (NMs) has come to media and public attention as potentially one of the most significant technological advances of our time. Among these technical applications, nano-composite food packaging, which combines the NMs and conventional packaging, is at the forefront of applications in nanotechnologies, leading the whole industrial chain based on nanotechnologies with high speed development. Taking into account the status of the nano-composites applied in food packaging and present development trends, this review is focused on summarizing the basic applications of the nano-composites in food packaging as well as its risk assessment. 7Correlation between BRAF^(V600E) mutation and clinicopathological features in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma显示文摘In adults, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in papillary thyroid cancer(PTC) has been demonstrated to be strongly associated with aggressive cancer-cell characteristics and poor patient prognosis. In contrast, the frequency of this mutation in pediatric PTC has undergone limited study, and the few available estimates range from 0 to 63%. Furthermore, the role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in pediatric PTC is controversial; thus, the present study aimed to investigate the prevalence and role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in48 pediatric patients with PTC, aged 3–13 years. Of these patients, 41 were diagnosed with classic PTC, five were found to have a follicular variant of PTC, and two to exhibit a diffuse sclerosing PTC variant. The BRAF^(V600E) mutation was identified to be present in 35.4% of the 48 analyzed patients, and in 41.5% of the patients diagnosed with classical PTC. Furthermore, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation was found to be associated with a patient age at diagnosis of less than ten years(P=0.011), the performance of a thyroidectomy(P=0.03), exhibited tumor multifocality(P=0.02) and/or extra-thyroidal invasion(P=0.003), and both a low MACIS(Metastases, Age, Completeness of resection, Invasion, Size)(P=0.036) and AMES(Age, Metastasis, Extent of tumor,Size)(P=0.001)score. 8A Scenario-Based Evaluation of COVID-19-Related Essential Clinical Resource Demands in China显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a global crisis,and medical systems in many countries are overwhelmed with supply shortages and increasing demands to treat patients due to the surge in cases and severe illnesses.This study aimed to assess COVID-19-related essential clinical resource demands in China,based on different scenarios involving COVID-19 spreads and interventions.We used a susceptible–exposed–infectious–hospitalized/isolated–removed(SEIHR)transmission dynamics model to estimate the number of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations with corresponding essential healthcare resources needed.We found that,under strict non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)or mass vaccination of the population,China would be able to contain community transmission and local outbreaks rapidly.However,under scenarios involving a low intensity of implemented NPIs and a small proportion of the population vaccinated,the use of a peacetime–wartime transition model would be needed for medical source stockpiles and preparations to ensure a normal functioning healthcare system.The implementation of COVID-19 vaccines and NPIs in different periods can influence the transmission of COVID-19 and subsequently affect the demand for clinical diagnosis and treatment.An increased proportion of asymptomatic infections in simulations will not reduce the demand for medical resources;however,attention must be paid to the increasing difficulty in containing COVID-19 transmission due to asymptomatic cases.This study provides evidence for emergency preparations and the adjustment of prevention and control strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.It also provides guidance for essential healthcare investment and resource allocation.Ting Zhang Qing Wang Zhiwei Leng Yuan Yang Jin Yang Fangyuan Chen Mengmeng Jia Xingxing Zhang Weiran Qi Yunshao Xu Siya Chen Peixi Dai Libing Ma Luzhao Feng Weizhong Yang 2021Engineering2021,7,7:7
9Prediction and safety analysis of additional vertical stress within a shaft wall in an extra-thick alluvium显示文摘An alluvium with a sandy aquifer at the bottom,but lacking an effective impermeable layer between the sandy aquifer and bedrock is referred to as a special alluvial stratum.Impacted by the drainage of the aquifer due to mining activities,a shaft wall in this special alluvial stratum will be subject to a downward load by an additional vertical force which must be taken into consideration in the design of the shaft wall.The complexity of interaction between shaft wall and the surrounding walls makes it extremely difficult to determine this additional vertical force.For a particular shaft wall in an extra-thick alluvium and assuming that the friction coefficient between shaft wall and stratum does not change with depth,an analysis of a numerical simulation of the stress within the shaft wall has been carried out.Growth and size of the additional vertical stress have been obtained,based on specific values of the friction coefficient,the modulus of elasticity of the drainage layer and the thickness of the drainage layer.Subsequently, the safety of shaft walls with different structural types was studied and a more suitable structural design,providing an important basis for the design of shaft walls,is promoted.WANG Yansen ZHANG Chi XUE Libing HUANG Xinggen 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,3:7

11DICER1 mutations in twelve Chinese patients with pleuropulmonary blastoma显示文摘Our aim is to examine the impact of DICER1 mutations on the pathogenesis of pleuropulmonary blastoma(PPB) by evaluating the mutation frequency and investigating the family history of Chinese patients with PPB. The family histories of 12 children with PPB recruited consecutively were surveyed. Blood samples from patients and their first-degree relatives were tested for DICER1 mutations. Whole-genome sequencing of blood samples and formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded(FFPE) tumor tissue was performed in one family with twins. Twelve patients with PPB included six type II and six type III cases. Seven of the12 patients harbored DICER1 mutations, six of which were frameshift or nonsense mutations. Another case carried a germline DICER1 mutation affecting the splice site. FFPE sample had a nonsense mutation in TDG and missense mutations in DICER1.In addition, two cases with DICER1 mutations were found to have lung cysts preceding the diagnosis of PPB. Furthermore, one patient had a family history remarkable for thyroid diseases. Our results indicate that the germline mutation frequency in Chinese patients with PPB is similar to the ones reported for patients from USA, UK, and Japan. 12Cationic conjugated polymers for homogeneous and sensitive fluorescence detection of hyaluronidase显示文摘The cationic charged water-soluble polyfluorenes containing 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (BT) units (P1-3) have been synthesized and characterized. These polymers demonstrate intramolecular energy transfer from the fluorene units to the BT sites when oppositely charged hyaluronan is added due to the formation of electrostatic complexes, followed by a shift in emission color from blue to green or brown. Upon adding hyaluronidase, the hyaluronan is cleaved into fragments. The relatively weak electrostatic interactions of hyaluronan fragments with polyfluorenes keep their main chains separated and energy transfer from the fluorene units to the BT sites is inefficient, and the polyfluorenes recover their blue emissions. The complexes of conjugated polymers/hyaluronan can be utilized as probes for sensitive and facile fluorescence assays for hyaluronidase. 13Effect of non-solvent additives on the morphology,pore structure, and direct contact membrane distillation performance of PVDF-CTFE hydrophobic membranes显示文摘Four common types of additives for polymer membrane preparation including organic macromolecule and micromolecule additives, inorganic salts and acids, and the strong non-solvent H2 O were used to prepare poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-chlorotrifluoroethylene)(PVDF-CTFE) hydrophobic flat-sheet membranes. Membrane properties including morphology, porosity, hydrophobicity, pore size and pore distribution were investigated, and the permeability was evaluated via direct contact membrane distillation(DCMD) of 3.5 g/L Na Cl solution in a DCMD configuration. Both inorganic and organic micromolecule additives were found to slightly influence membrane hydrophobicity. Polyethylene glycol(PEG),organic acids, Li Cl, Mg Cl2, and Li Cl/H2 O mixtures were proved to be effective additives to PVDF-CTFE membranes due to their pore-controlling effects and the capacity to improve the properties and performance of the resultant membranes. The occurrence of a pre-gelation process showed that when organic and inorganic micromolecules were added to PVDF-CTFE solution, the resultant membranes presented a high interconnectivity structure. The membrane prepared with dibutyl phthalate(DBP) showed a nonporous surface and symmetrical cross-section. When H2 O and Li Cl/H2 O mixtures were also used as additives, they were beneficial for solid–liquid demixing, especially when Li Cl/H2 O mixed additives were used. The membrane prepared with 5% Li Cl + 2% H2 O achieved a flux of24.53 kg/(m2·hr) with 99.98% salt rejection. 14Optimized pre-treatment of high strength food waste digestate by high content aluminum-nanocluster based magnetic coagulation显示文摘Coagulation-based pre-treatment efficiency of high strength digestate of food waste(HSDFW) anaerobic digestion is negated by organic ligand-catalyzed decomposition of coagulants. In this study, an efficient HSDFW pre-treatment method, magnetic seeds(MS) coagulation, was employed by using highly stable Keggin Al_(30) nanocluster(PAC_(30)), MS and polyacrylamide(PAM), and its operation was optimized by evaluating the performance of removing turbidity, total suspended solids(TSS), chemical oxygen demand(COD), and total phosphorous(TP) phosphate. Results showed that at the optimum dosage of 4.82 g/L, PAC_(30) demonstrated excellent removals as high as 98.93% ± 0.1% of turbidity, 98.04% ± 0.1% of TSS, 58.28% ± 0.3% of total COD, 99.98% ± 0.01% of TP and 99.50% ± 0.01% of dissolved phosphate, respectively. Apparent molecular weight(AMW) and three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(3 D-EEM) fluorescence spectroscopy analyses demonstrated more efficient removal of dissolved organic matter(DOM), particularly non-biodegradable and hydrophobic components by PAC_(30) than commercial coagulant. The sedimentation was much improved from 40 min by coagulation/flocculation to about 5 min settling by MS coagulation. 15Improved oxygen reduction reaction via a partially oxidized Co-CoO catalyst on N-doped carbon synthesized by a facile sand-bath method显示文摘High active and durable non-noble metal electrocatalysts are urgently developed to satisfy the high performance oxygen reduction reaction(ORR). We successfully synthesized Co-CoOx anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon via a facile sand-bath method(SBM), i.e., Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM). The as-obtained Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM) exhibited overwhelming superiorities to Co-CoO/N-C prepared by conventional heat treatment(CHT), particularly in electrochemical performance of ORR. Although Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM)showed smaller specific surface area of 276.8 m^2/g than that of 939.5 m^2/g from Co-CoO/N-C(CHT), the Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM) performed larger pore diameter and more Co_3O_4 active component resulting in better ORR performance in 0.1 mol/L KOH solution. The Co-CoO_x/N-C(SBM) delivered onset potential of 0.91 V vs. RHE, mid-wave potential of 0.85 V vs. RHE and limited current density of 5.46 mA/cm^2 much better than those of the Co-CoO/N-C(CHT). 17Dimericbiscognienynes B and C: New diisoprenyl-cyclohexene-type meroterpenoid dimers from Biscogniauxia sp.显示文摘Dimericbiscognienynes B and C(1 and 2), two new diisoprenyl-cyclohexene-type meroterpenoid dimers,were isolated from Biscogniauxia sp. 71-10-1-1. Their structures, including the absolute configurations,were determined by spectroscopic analyses and ECD experiments. Meroterpenoids are special natural products that originate from mixed terpenoid-nonterpenoid pathway. As a member of meroterpenoid family, diisoprenyl-cyclohexene/ane-type meroterpenoids composed of two isoprenyl chains(C5 unit)and a cyclohexene/ane moiety(C6 unit), featuring diverse skeleton structures with wide range of bioactivities. In these reported diisoprenyl-cyclohexene/ane-type meroterpenoids, only three dimers were identified. 18Defective ZnS nanoparticles anchored in situ on N-doped carbon as a superior oxygen reduction reaction catalyst显示文摘Defect engineering has been used to develop low-cost and effective catalysts to boost oxygen reduction reactions.However,the development of catalysts that use metal cation vacancies as the active sites for oxygen reduction reaction is lacking.In this study,ZnS nanoparticles on N-doped carbon serve as an oxygen reduction reaction catalyst.These catalysts were prepared via a one-step method at 900℃.Amazingly,the high-resolution transmission electron microscope image revealed obvious defects in the ZnS nanoparticles.These facilitated the catalyst synthesis,and the product displayed good electrocatalytic performance for the oxygen reduction reaction in an alkaline medium,including a lower onset potential,lower mid-wave potential,four electron transfer process,and better durability compared with 20 wt%Pt/C.More importantly,the density functional theory results indicated that using the Zn vacancies in the prepared catalyst as active sites required a lower reaction energy to produce OOH*from*OO toward oxygen reduction reaction.Therefore,the proposed catalyst with Zn vacancies can be used as a potential electrocatalyst and may be substitutes for Pt-based catalysts in fuel cells,given the novel catalyst’s resulting performance.Libing Hu Zengxi Wei Feng Yu Huifang Yuan Mincong Liu Gang Wang Bangfiua Peng Bin Dai Jianmin Ma 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,12:3
19Efficient purification of Al_(30) by organic complexation method显示文摘A method was developed for preparing high purity Al30O8(OH)56(H2O)_(24)^(18)+(Al30) through elimination of impurities by complexation.Polyaluminum chloride II(PAC_(30))with Al_(c )content of 75%was adopted as the source of Al_(30).The PAC_(30)was prepared under conditions of total aluminum concentration 0.1 mol/L and OH^-/Al ratio 2.2 to obtain the highest content of Al_(30).A precipitation/metathesis method,organic solvent precipitation method and organic complexation method were examined to separate and purify Al_(30).It was found that only by the organic complexation method could high purity Al_(30)products be obtained in large yield economically.In the experiments,benzoic acid was used as the coordinating reagent to decompose the main impurity AlO_4Al_(12)(OH)_(24)(H_2O)_(12)^(7+)(Al_(13)),and the Al_(30)product could be obtained by precipitation and metathesis operations.It was noteworthy that the decomposition of impurities by benzoic acid could be completed in 2 hr.The Al_(30)product was characterized by Ferron assay,^(27)Al-NMR,SEM,XRD and TGA.The results showed that the purity of the Al_(30)product could exceed 92%.Libing Liu Qinxue Yang Pin Wang Feng Xiao Ruyuan Jiao Guangyu An Dongsheng Wang 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,6:2
