| 1 | Prevention of Osteopenia and Dyslipidemia in Rats after Ovariectomy with Combined Aspirin and Low-dose Diethylstilbestrol显示文摘Objective To study whether effect of aspirin plus low-dose diethylstilbestrol is more effective and safer than high diethylstilbestrol dose alone on prevention of ovariectomy-induced osteopenia and dyslipidemia.Methods Thirty-eight 4-month-old female SD rats were divided into baseline(BAS)group(n=6),sham operation group(n=8)and ovariectomy(OVX)group(n=24).The OVX group was further divided into vehicle treatment group(n=8),diethylstilbestrol(30 μg/kg·d)treatment group(OVX+D30 group,n=8),and aspirin(9 mg/kg·d)plus diethylstilbestrol(10 μg/kg·d)treatment group(OVX+A-D10 group,n=8).Their left tibiae were collected for the bone histomorphometric analysis in undecalcified sections.Left femurs were collected for the bone mineral density measurement.Results The body weight and serum cholesterol were increased,while uterine weight and cancellous bone mass were decreased in OVX rats compared with the SHAM group.Cancellous bone mass was significantly increased,while body weight and bone resorption parameters were decreased in both A-D10 and D30 treatment group compared with OVX group.The rats treated with A-D10 showed significantly increased in bone formation parameters and decreased in serum triglyceride compared with the D30-treated rats.Conclusion Aspirin plus low-dose diethylstilbestrol can effectively prevent osteopenia by reducing bone resorption,and is thus a better treatment modality for preventing dyslipidemia than high-dose diethylstilbestrol alone. | LIN Si En HUANG Jian Ping WU Ling Zhi WU Tie CUI Liao | 2013 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2013，26，4： | 3 |
| 2 | Traditional Chinese Medicine in Malaysia:A Brief Historical Overview of Education and Research显示文摘The education and research of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in Malaysia started coincidentally circa Malaysia’s independence movement.Before the independence,much of the development focused on establishing treatment centers and Chinese medical halls to provide TCM treatment.Periodicals and journals advocating TCM and its advancement were published between the 1940s and 1960s,but many did not survive after a few issues.The challenge posed by the Immigration Ordinance 1952 further united TCM practitioners and TCM associations to establish the Chinese Medical Institute of Malaya.The trend gained momentum,and many educational institutes were set up in each of Malaysia.From the 1970s,Malaysia started hosting regional and international TCM conferences.In 2000,TCM education in Malaysia had finally gained recognition from the government.ATCM program standard was thus released by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency(MQA).To date,there are seven private higher education institutions which offer TCM programs based on the MQA standards and have established international collaborations with other universities.It is projected that Malaysia’s TCM education and research will grow further as a result of China’s Belt and Road initiative. | Hon Foong Wong Shih Chau Ng Wen Tien Tan Jun Liu Xun Lin Si Woei Goh Bao Ling Hoo Chyong En Chai Huiying Wang | 2019 | Chinese Medicine and Culture2019，2，3： | 1 |
| 3 | Traditional Chinese Medicine in Malaysia: A Brief Historical Overview of Laws and Regulations显示文摘Although traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has been a part of the Malaya and the Malaysia people’s method of maintaining health and well-being for many centuries,it was never been enrolled in the public health-care system.However,the rising cost of Western drugs and the increasing number of people frequenting TCM has driven the government to search for cheaper options and to look into its safe practice.In 1992,the government mandated all TCM herbal products to be registered with the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau.All TCM products sold in Malaysia are now Good Manufacturing Practice certified.The government has also established a Traditional and Complementary Medicine Division within the Ministry of Health.Between 2008 and 2014,a traditional and complementary medicine unit was set up in major hospitals in all states.TCM is one of the main services offered by the unit.In 2016,the government enacted the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Act to regulate the TCM practice.Subsequently,a 10-vear blueprint has been drawn to support the development of all traditional and complementary medicines in Malaysia.This article aims to provide a brief overview on the regulatory development of TCM in Malaysia. | Hon Foong Wong Shih Chau Ng Wen Tien Tan Huiying Wang Xun Lin Si Woei Goh Bao Ling Hoo Chyong En Chai Jun Liu | 2019 | Chinese Medicine and Culture2019，2，4： | 0 |
| 4 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 7 | Deblurring,artifact-free optical coherence tomography with deconvolution-random phase modulation显示文摘Deconvolution is a commonly employed technique for enhancing image quality in optical imaging methods.Unfortu-nately,its application in optical coherence tomography(OCT)is often hindered by sensitivity to noise,which leads to ad-ditive ringing artifacts.These artifacts considerably degrade the quality of deconvolved images,thereby limiting its effect-iveness in OCT imaging.In this study,we propose a framework that integrates numerical random phase masks into the deconvolution process,effectively eliminating these artifacts and enhancing image clarity.The optimized joint operation of an iterative Richardson-Lucy deconvolution and numerical synthesis of random phase masks(RPM),termed as De-conv-RPM,enables a 2.5-fold reduction in full width at half-maximum(FWHM).We demonstrate that the Deconv-RPM method significantly enhances image clarity,allowing for the discernment of previously unresolved cellular-level details in nonkeratinized epithelial cells ex vivo and moving blood cells in vivo. | Xin Ge Si Chen Kan Lin Guangming Ni En Bo Lulu Wang Linbo Liu | 2024 | Opto-Electronic Science2024，3，1： | 0 |
