| 1 | A novel bioremediation strategy for petroleum hydrocarbon pollutants using salt tolerant Corynebacterium variabile HRJ4 and biochar显示文摘The present work aimed to develop a novel strategy to bioremediate the petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in the environment.Salt tolerant bacterium was isolated from Dagang oilfield,China and identified as Corynebacterium variabile HRJ4 based on 16 S r RNA gene sequence analysis.The bacterium had a high salt tolerant capability and biochar was developed as carrier for the bacterium.The bacteria with biochar were most effective in degradation of n-alkanes(C16,C18,C19,C26,C28) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(NAP,PYR) mixture.The result demonstrated that immobilization of C.variabile HRJ4 with biochar showed higher degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons(THPs) up to 78.9%after 7-day of incubation as compared to the free leaving bacteria.The approach of this study will be helpful in clean-up of petroleum-contamination in the environments through bioremediation process using eco-friendly and cost effective materials like biochar. | Hairong Zhang Jingchun Tang Lin Wang Juncheng Liu Ranjit Gajanan Gurav Kejing Sun | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,9: | 25 |

| 4 | Prognostic assessment of apoptotic gene polymorphisms in non-small cell lung cancer in Chinese显示文摘Apoptosis plays a key role in inhibiting tumor growth, progression and resistance to anti-tumor therapy. We hypothesized that genetic variants in apoptotic genes may affect the prognosis of lung cancer. To test this hypothesis, we selected 38 potentially functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from 12 genes (BAX, BCL2, BID, CASP3, CASP6, CASP7, CASP8, CASP9, CASP10, FAS, FASLG and MCL1) involved in apoptosis to assess their prognostic significance in lung cancer in a Chinese case cohort with 568 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Thirty-five SNPs passing quality control underwent association analyses, 11 of which were shown to be significantly associated with NSCLC survival (P<0.05). After Cox stepwise regression analyses, 3 SNPs were independently associated with the outcome of NSCLC (BID rs8190315: P=0.003; CASP9 rs4645981: P=0.007 and FAS rs1800682: P=0.016). A favorable survival of NSCLC was significantly associated with the genotypes of BID rs8190315 AG/GG (adjusted HR=0.65, 95% CI: 0.49-0.88), CASP9 rs4645981 AA (HR=0.22, 95% CI: 0.07-0.69) and FAS rs1800682 GG (adjusted HR=0.67, 95% CI: 0.46-0.97). Time-dependent receptor operation curve (ROC) analysis revealed that the area under curve (AUC) at year 5 was significantly increased from 0.762 to 0.819 after adding the risk score of these 3 SNPs to the clinical risk score. The remaining 32 SNPs were not significantly associated with NSCLC prognosis after adjustment for these 3 SNPs. | 5 | Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted. | Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,12: | 3 |
| 6 | Optical orbital angular momentum multiplexing communication via inversely-designed multiphase plane light conversion显示文摘Multiplexing and demultiplexing of optical orbital angular momentum(OAM)are critical operations in modedivision multiplexing communications.Traditional Dammann gratings,spiral phase planes,and optical geometric transformations are regarded as convenient methods for OAM mode(de)multiplexing.However,crosstalk between the different modes and the difficulty of mode multiplexing greatly limit their application to modedivision multiplexing communications.Here,using a set of inversely-designed phase planes,we demonstrate an OAM(de)multiplexer based on multiphase plane light conversion that can enable perfect OAM multiplexing communication.The sorted patterns are Gaussian-like and can be coupled easily into single-mode fiber arrays.Inputs from the fiber array are turned into coaxial OAM modes after the phase planes.OAM mode crosstalk generated by the multiplexer is less than-20 d B,with insertion loss of less than 2.6 d B.OAM modes are sorted by the demultiplexer with mode crosstalk below-10 d B,and the sorting results are coupled to the fiber array.OAM modes carrying 10 Gbit/s on–off keying signals were transmitted in a 5 km few-mode fiber.The measured bit-error-rate curves have power penalties of less than 10 d B.The proposed configuration is highly efficient and convenient and will be beneficial for potential applications in quantum information,information processing,and optical communications. | JUNCHENG FANG JINPEI LI ARU KONG YOUPENG XIE CHUXUAN LIN ZHENWEI XIE TING LEI XIAOCONG YUAN | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,9: | 3 |

| 8 | High-performance self-organized Si nanocomposite anode for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Silicon is being investigated extensively as an anodic material for next-generation lithium ion batteries for portable energy storage and electric vehicles.However,the large changes in volume during cycling lead to the breakdown of the conductive network in Si anodes and the formation of an unstable solid-electrolyte interface,resulting in capacity fading.Here,we demonstrate nanoparticles with a Si@Mn_(22.6)Si_(5.4)C_4@C double-shell structure and the formation of self-organized Si-Mn-C nanocomposite anodes during the lithiation/delithiation process.The anode consists of amorphous Si particles less than 10 nm in diameter and separated by an interconnected conductive/buffer network,which exhibits excellent charge transfer kinetics and charge/discharge performances.A stable specific capacity of 1100 mAh·g^(-1) at 100 mA·g^(-1) and a coulombic efficiency of 99.2%after 30 cycles are achieved.Additionally,a rate capacity of 343 mAh·g^(-1) and a coulombic efficiency of 99.4%at 12000 mA·g^(-1) are also attainable.Owing to its simplicity and applicability,this strategy for improving electrode performance paves a way for the development of high-performance Si-based anodic materials for lithium ion batteries. | Xiuyun Zhao Dingguo Xia Lin Gu Juncheng Yue Biao Li Hang Wei Huijun Yan Ruqiang Zou Yingxia Wang Xiayan Wang Ze Zhang Jixue Li | 2014 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2014,23,3: | 1 |

| 10 | Genetic variants at 10q 23.33 are associated with plasma lipid levels in a Chinese population显示文摘Plasma lipid abnormalities are implicated in the pathogenic process of type 2 diabetes.The IDE-KIF11-HHEX gene cluster on chromosome 10q23.33 has been identified as a susceptibility locus for type 2 diabetes.We hypothesized that genetic variants at 10q23.33 may be associated with plasma lipid concentrations.Seven tagging single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs:rs7923837,rs2488075,rs947591,rs11187146,rs5015480,rs4646957 and rs1111875) at 10q23.33 were genotyped in 3,281 subjects from a Han Chinese population,using the TaqMan OpenArray and Sequenom MassARRAY platforms.Multiple linear regression analyses showed that SNP rs7923837 in the 3'-flanking region of HHEX was significantly associated with triglyceride levels(P = 0.019,0.031 mmol/L average decrease per minor G allele) and that rs2488075 and rs947591 in the downstream region of HHEX were significantly associated with total cholesterol levels(P = 0.041,0.058 mmol/L average decrease per minor C allele and P = 0.018,0.063 mmol/L average decrease per minor A allele,respectively).However,the other four SNPs(rs11187146,rs5015480,rs4646957 and rs1111875) were not significantly associated with any plasma lipid concentrations in this Chinese population.Our data suggest that genetic variants in the IDE-KIF11-HHEX gene cluster at 10q23.33 may partially explain the variation of plasma lipid levels in the Han Chinese population.Further studies are required to confirm these findings in other populations. | Sijun Liu Yun Qian Feng Lu Meihua Dong Yudi Lin Huizhang Li Chong Shen Juncheng Dai Yue Jiang Guangfu Jin Zhibin Hu Hongbing Shen | 2014 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,1: | 1 |

| 18 | Influence of Nd^(3+) concentration on mid-infrared emission in PbF_(2) crystal co-doped with Ho^(3+) and Nd^(3+) ions显示文摘A promising series of Ho_(y)Nd_(x)Pb_((1-x-y))F_2(x = 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04;y = 0.02) crystals was grown by the Bridgman method. The influence of the Nd^(3+)ions concentration on mid-infrared(~2.0, ~2.9 and ~3.9 μm)fluorescence emissions of Ho^(3+)ions in the PbF_(2) crystal excited by 808 nm laser diode was investigated in this work. The energy transfer mechanism between Nd^(3+)ions and Ho~(3+)ions under different concentrations of the Nd^(3+)ions was systematically analyzed. The results show that the Nd^(3+)ions have good sensitization and deactivation effect on the Ho^(3+)ions to stimulate the mid-infrared fluorescence emissions. The experimental analysis proves that the sensitization efficiency of the Nd^(3+)ions is relatively stable at around 93.45% with varying Nd^(3+)-doping concentrations. Concentration dependence studies indicate that the concentration of the Nd^(3+)ions has significant influence on mid-infrared emissions.When the doping concentration of the Nd^(3+)ions is up to 2.0 at%, the intensity of ~2.0, ~2.9 and ~3.9 μm emissions all reach the maximum. The output characteristics of a 3.9 μm laser are simulated, and it is found that with the increase of the Nd^(3+)-doping concentration, the peak power, pulse width, and peak energy all meet the trend of first increasing and then decreasing, and Ho_(0.02)Nd_(0.02)Pb_(0.96)F_(2) crystal displays the best performance.
