2Reproduction Diversity of Enteromorpha prolifera显示文摘Enteromorpha prolifera(Muell.) J.Agardh(Chlorophyta,Ulvophyceae),which is distributed widely in the inter-tidal zone of the ocean,is one of the most common fouling green algae.However,the present understandings of the life history of E.prolifera have been insufficient to explain their seasonal abundances.Thus it is essential to investigate how many reproductive strategies are likely to contribute to the successful colonization and flourishing of the green alga.In the present study the reproduction diversity of E.prolifera was observed and studied systematically by culturing chopped tissues.Our results showed that there are in total seven pathways of reproduction for E.prolifera including sexual,asexual and vegetative reproduction.It was indicated that the variety of the reproductive ways and the large quantity of reproductive cells produced and released during the reproductive season are the two key factors that facilitate colonization of E.prolifera.The reproduction of the alga E.prolifera mainly depends on asexual methods.The results presented here contribute to increasing our understanding about how the opportunistic macroalgae successfully maintain colonization and excessive growth.Apeng Lin Songdong Shen Jianwei Wang Binlun Yan 2008Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2008,50,5:46
3Efficacy and safety of a novel anti-HER2 therapeutic antibody RC48 in patients with HER2-overexpressing,locally advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer:a single-arm phase II study显示文摘Background:Current treatment options for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-overexpressing gastric cancer at third-line have shown limited clinical benefit.Further,there is no specific treatment for HER2 immunohistochemistry(IHC)2+and fluorescence in-situ hybridization-negative patients.Here,we report the efficacy and safety of a novel anti-HER2 antibody RC48 for patients with HER2-overexpressing,advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer.Methods:Patients with HER2-overexpressing(IHC 2+or 3+),locally advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer who were under at least second-line therapy were eligible and received RC482.5 mg/kg alone every 2 weeks.The primary endpoint was the objective response rate(ORR)assessed by an independent review committee.Secondary endpoints included progressionfree survival(PFS),overall survival(OS),duration of response,time to progression,disease control rate,and safety.Results:Of 179 patients screened,125 were eligible and received RC48 treatment.The ORR was 24.8%(95%confidence interval[CI]:17.5%-33.3%).The median PFS and OS were 4.1 months(95%CI:3.7-4.9 months)and 7.9 months(95%CI:6.7-9.9 months),respectively.The most frequently reported adverse events were decreased white blood cell count(53.6%),asthenia(53.6%),hair loss(53.6%),decreased neutrophil count(52.0%),anemia(49.6%),and increased aspartate aminotransferase level(43.2%).Serious adverse events(SAEs)occurred in 45(36.0%)patients,and RC48-related SAEs were mainly decreased neutrophil count(3.2%).Seven patients had adverse events that led to death were not RC48-related.Conclusions:RC48 showed promising activity with manageable safety,suggesting potential application in patients with HER2-overexpressing,advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer who have previously received at least two lines of chemotherapy.Zhi Peng Tianshu Liu Jia Wei Airong Wang Yifu He Liuzhong Yang Xizhi Zhang Nanfeng Fan Suxia Luo Zhen Li Kangsheng Gu Jianwei Lu Jianming Xu Qingxia Fan Ruihua Xu Liangming Zhang Enxiao Li Yuping Sun Guohua Yu Chunmei Bai Yong Liu Jiangzheng Zeng Jieer Ying Xinjun Liang Nong Xu Chao Gao Yongqian Shu Dong Ma Guanghai Dai Shengmian Li Ting Deng Yuehong Cui Jianmin Fang Yi Ba Lin Shen 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,11:29
4Control strategy of a novel electric power steering system integrated with active front steering function显示文摘A novel electric power steering system(EPS) integrated with active front steering(AFS) is developed.It has functions of both AFS system and EPS system with two actuator units:the AFS actuator unit and the EPS actuator unit.The AFS actuator unit controls the displacement transfer behavior of the steering system,and improves the handling stability under adverse road conditions by varying the steering ratio directly related to the speed and road conditions.The EPS actuator unit controls the force transfer behavior of the steering system,and improves the steering portability and road feel of the vehicle.Based on a dynamic model,the mixed H2/H∞ control strategy of the EPS actuator and the active steering intervention control strategy of the AFS actuator are designed.The simulation indicates that the novel EPS system with the designed control strategies has obvious advantages in vehicle handling stability and the driver's road feel over the traditional EPS system,and extends the vehicle's steering performance.ZHAO WanZhong LIN Yi WEI JianWei SHI GuoBiao 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,6:25

7Removal of humic acid from aqueous solution by cetylpyridinium bromide modified zeolite显示文摘Natural zeolite was modified by loading cetylpyridinium bromide(CPB) to create more efficient sites for humic acid(HA) adsorption.The natural and CPB modified zeolites were characterized with X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis.The effects of various experimental parameters such as contact time, initial HA concentration, solution pH and coexistent Ca2+, upon HA adsorption onto CPB modified zeolites were evaluated.The results showed that natural zeolite had negligible affinity for HA in aqueous solutions, but CPB modified zeolites exhibited high adsorption efficiency for HA.A higher CPB loading on natural zeolites exhibited a larger HA adsorption capacity.Acidic pH and coexistent Ca2+ were proved to be favorable for HA adsorption onto CPB modified zeolite.The kinetic process was well described by pseudo second-order model.The experimental isotherm data fitted well to Langmuir and Sips models.The maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of CPB modified zeolite with surfactant bilayer coverage was found to be 92.0 mg/g.Yanhui Zhan Zhiliang Zhu Jianwei Lin Yanling Qiu Jianfu Zhao 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,9:6
8Exosomes with low miR-34c-3p expression promote invasion and migration of non-small cell lung cancer by upregulating integrinα2β1显示文摘Exosomes play critical roles in regulating various physiological and pathological processes,including immune stimulation,immune suppression,cardiovascular diseases,and cancers.Recent studies show that exosomes that transport specific microRNAs(miRNAs)are involved in tumor development.However,the molecular mechanism by which tumor invasion and migration are regulated by exosomes from non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)is not well understood.Here,we show that exosomes shuttling low levels of miR-34c-3p are involved in NSCLC progression.Our results showed that exosomes derived from NSCLC cells carrying low levels of miR-34c-3p could be transported into the cytoplasm of NSCLC cells and accelerate NSCLC invasion and migration by upregulating integrinα2β1.A luciferase assay revealed that integrinα2β1 was the direct target of miR-34c-3p,and overexpression of integrinα2β1 could promote the invasion and migration of NSCLC cells.The analysis of exosomes derived from clinical serum samples indicated that the expression of miR-34c-3p was significantly downregulated in exosomes from NSCLC patients compared with that of normal controls.A549-derived exosomes promoted NSCLC cells lung metastases in vivo.Exosomes shuttling low levels of miR-34c-3p were associated with the progression of NSCLC in vitro and in vivo.Our data demonstrate that exosomes shuttling low levels of miR-34c-3p can accelerate the invasion and migration of NSCLC by upregulating integrinα2β1.MiR-34c-3p can be a diagnostic and prognostic marker for NSCLC.High expression of integrinα2β1 is positively related to the migration and metastasis of NSCLC cells.Wenjing Huang Yanyan Yan Yun Liu Minting Lin Jinxiang Ma Wei Zhang Jianwei Dai Jiajun Li Qiaoru Guo Hubiao Chen Bolat Makabel Hong Liu Chaoyue Su Hong Bi Jianye Zhang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:5
9Diagnosis and surgical treatment of intraveneous leiomyomatosis extending into the heart:two cases report and review of the literature显示文摘Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and surgical treatment of intravenous leiomyomatosis(IVL),and outline the differences between Chinese and overseas cases.Methods:Clinical data of two IVL cases,treated in our hospital,were analyzed retrospectively and the related literature was also reviewed.The data of preoperative diagnostic rate,surgical procedures,and postoperative recurrence between patients in China and other countries were compared.Results:The first stage operation was performed successfully in 2 patients.However,they refused subsequent therapies,including a second stage operation to excise the remnants of the tumor,uterus,bilateral oviducts and ovaries,and anti-estrogen therapy.Both suffered from IVL recurrence,one at 6-month and the other at 9-month,and died at 16-month and 12-month respectively after the first stage surgery.Worldwide reports of 110 IVL cases were reviewed,which included 28 cases in China and 82 cases in other countries.In the majority of the Chinese patients,tumors only extended into the right atrium rather than the right ventricle(RA 22 cases vs RV 4 cases).However,among the overseas patients,the rate of extension into the right atrium was similar to that of extension into the right ventricle(RA 41 cases vs RV 38 cases).The rate of hysterectomies was not significantly different between Chinese and overseas patients(67.86% vs 55.9%,P=0.278).The rate of correct preoperative diagnosis in the Chinese patients was significantly lower than that in the overseas patients(32.14% vs 80%,P=0.000002),as well as the rate of complete excision of the tumor(22.7% vs 75.5%,P=0.000001).The proportion of patients who undergoing a single-stage or a two-stage operation was similar in Chinese and overseas patients.The recurrence rate was significantly higher in the Chinese patients than in the overseas patients(36.8% vs 9.1%,P=0.0055),and the patients with tumor recurrence were partial tumor excision patients.Conclusion:The possibility of IVL should be considered if echocardiography in female patients demonstrates a tumor in the right heart and a mass in the inferior vena cava(IVC).Further imaging should be performed to confirm the diagnosis.The correct diagnosis and accurate preoperative delineation of tumor extension are essential for an optimal surgical outcome.The key point in IVL treatment is the complete excision of tumors(single-stage or two-stage surgical procedure).Xiaowei Wang Lin Zhang Yijiang Chen Shijiang Zhang Jianwei Qin Yanhu Wu Jinhua Luo 2009Journal of Nanjing Medical University2009,23,5:5
10Effect of precipitation pH and coexisting magnesium ion on phosphate adsorption onto hydrous zirconium oxide显示文摘To understand the effect of precipitation pH and coexisting Mg^(2+) on phosphate adsorption onto zirconium oxide(ZrO_2), ZrO_2 particles precipitated at pH 5.3, 7.1 and 10.5, i.e., ZrO_2(5.3), ZrO_2(7.1)and ZrO_2(10.5), respectively were prepared and characterized, then their adsorption performance and mechanism in the absence and presence of Mg^(2+) were comparatively investigated in this study. The results showed that the Elovich, pseudo-second-order and Langmuir isotherm models correlated with the experimental data well. The adsorption mechanism involved the complexation between phosphate and zirconium. Coexisting Mg^(2+) slightly inhibited the adsorption of phosphate on ZrO_2(5.3), including the adsorption capacity and rate, but coexisting Mg^(2+) greatly increased the adsorption capacity and rate for ZrO_2(7.1)and ZrO_2(10.5). The enhanced adsorption of phosphate on ZrO_2(7.1) and ZrO_2(10.5) in the presence of Mg^(2+) was mainly due to the formation of Mg^(2+)-HPO_4^(2-) ion pair(MgHPO_4~0) in the solution and then the adsorption of MgHPO_4~0 on the adsorbent surface, forming the phosphatebridged ternary complex Zr(OPO_3H)Mg. In the absence of Mg^(2+) , the maximum phosphate adsorption capacity at pH 7 calculated from the Langmuir isotherm model decreased in the order of ZrO 2(7.1)(67.3 mg/g) > ZrO_2(5.3)(53.6 mg/g) ≈ ZrO_2(10.5)(53.1 mg/g), but it followed the order of Zr O2(7.1)(97.0 mg/g) > ZrO_2(10.5)(79.7 mg/g) > ZrO_2(5.3)(51.3 mg/g) in the presence of Mg^(2+) . 11Impact of 5-Fu/oxaliplatin on mouse dendritic cells and synergetic effect with a colon cancer vaccine显示文摘Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu) and oxaliplatin on the function and activation pathways of mouse dendritic cells(DCs), and to clarify whether 5-Fu/oxaliplatin combined with the CD1d-MC38/α-galactosylceramide(α-GC) tumor vaccine exhibits synergistic effects on the treatment of colon cancer in mice.Methods: The combination of the Toll like receptor(TLR) ligands and/or 5-Fu/oxaliplatin was added into myeloid-derived DCs in vitro culture. DC phenotypic changes were detected by flow cytometry, and the secretion of DC cytokines was detected by cytometric bead array(CBA). A MC38 mouse colon cancer model was constructed and the DCs were isolated from the spleen, tumor tissue and lymph nodes following intraperitoneal injection of 5-Fu/oxaliplatin. The cell phenotypes were detected by flow cytometry. The tumor infiltrating leukocytes,splenocytes and lymph node cells were co-cultured with the dead MC38 tumor cells, and the secretion levels of interferon-γ(IFN-γ) were detected. 5-Fu/oxaliplatin combined with our previously developed CD1d-MC38/α-GC tumor vaccine was used to inhibit the growth of MC38 colon cancer in mice, and the tumor growth rate and survival time were recorded.Results: 5-Fu/oxaliplatin exerted no significant effect on the expression of the stimulating phenotypes of DCs in vitro, while it could reduce the expression of programmed death ligand 1/2(PD-L1/L2) and promote interleukin-12(IL-12) secretion by DCs. Furthermore 5-Fu/oxaliplatin was beneficial to the differentiation of T-helper 1(Th1) cells. 5-Fu/oxaliplatin further enhanced the stimulating phenotypic expression of DCs in tumor bearing mice, decreased PD-L1/L2 expression, and specifically activated the lymphocytes. The CD1d-MC38/α-GC tumor vaccine combined with 5-Fu/oxaliplatin could exert a synergistic role that resulted in a significant delay of the tumor growth rate, and an increase in the survival time of tumor bearing mice.Conclusions: 5-Fu/oxaliplatin decreased the expression of the DC inhibitory phenotypes PD-L1/L2, promoted DC phenotypic maturation in tumor bearing mice, activated the lymphocytes of tumor bearing mice, and exerted synergistic effects with the CD1d-MC38/α-GC colon cancer tumor vaccine.Xinqiang Hong Tiangeng Dong Tuo Yi Jianwei Hu Zhen Zhang Shengli Lin Weixin Niu 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,2:4

13Chronosequencing methanogenic archaea in ancient Longji rice Terraces in China显示文摘Chronosequences of ancient rice terraces serve as an invaluable archive for reconstructions of historical human-environment interactions. Presently, however, these reconstructions are based on traditional soil physico-chemical properties. The microorganisms in palaeosols have been unexplored. We hypothesized that microbial information can be used as an additional proxy to complement and consolidate archaeological interpretations. To test this hypothesis, the palaeoenvironmental methanogenic archaeal DNA in Longji Terraces, one of the famous ancient terraces in China, dating back to the late Yuan Dynasty(CE1361–1406), was chronosequenced by high-throughput sequencing. It was found that the methanogenic archaeal abundance, diversity and community composition were closely associated with the 630 years of rice cultivation and in line with changes in multi-proxy data. Particularly, the centennial-and decadalscale influences of known historical events, including social turbulences(The Taiping Rebellion, CE1850–1865), palaeoclimate changes(the Little Ice Age) and recorded natural disasters(earthquakes and inundation), on ancient agricultural society were clearly echoed in the microbial archives as variations in alpha and beta diversity. 15T cells expressing CD5/CD7 bispecific chimeric antigen receptors with fully human heavy-chain-only domains mitigate tumor antigen escape显示文摘Bispecific chimeric antigen receptor T-cell(CAR-T)therapies have shown promising results in clinical trials for advanced B-cell malignancies.However,it is challenging to broaden the success of bispecific CAR-T therapies to treat refractory/relapse(r/r)T-cell leukemia/lymphoma because targeting multiple T-cell-expressing antigens leads to exacerbated CAR-T cell fratricide and potential safety concerns.Fully human heavy chain variable(FHVH)antibodies that specifically target CD5 or CD7 were screened and constructed to CD5/CD7 bispecific CARs.A truncated Epidermal growth factor receptor were integrated into CAR constructs to address safety concerns.To tackle the fratricidal issue of CAR-T cells targeting T-cell-pan marker(s),CRISPR/Cas9-based CD5 and CD7 genes knockout were performed before lentiviral transduction of bispecific CARs.Functional comparison between different bispecific CAR structures:tandem CARs and dual CAR were performed in vitro and in vivo to determine the optimal construct suitable for addressing T-cell malignancy antigen escape in clinical setting.Knockout of CD5 and CD7 prevents fratricide of CD5/CD7 bispecific CAR-T cells,and FHVH-derived CD5/CD7 bispecific CAR-T cells demonstrate potent antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo.The fratricide-resistant FHVH-derived CD5/CD7 bispecific CAR-T cells have potent antitumor activity against T-cell malignancies,and tandem CARs are more effective than dual CAR in preventing tumor escape in heterogeneous leukemic cells.The meaningful clinical efficacy and safety of tandem CD5/CD7 CAR-T cells deserve to be explored urgently.Zhenyu Dai Wei Mu Ya Zhao Jiali Cheng Haolong Lin Kedong Ouyang Xiangyin Jia Jianwei Liu Qiaoe Wei Meng Wang Chaohong Liu Taochao Tan Jianfeng Zhou 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:3
16MOFs-Derived N-Doped Carbon-Encapsulated Metal/Alloy Electrocatalysts to Tune the Electronic Structure and Reactivity of Carbon Active Sites显示文摘Despite progress over the past few years in developing efficient low-cost catalysts,precious metals are still the best catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).However;the natural scarcity and high cost greatly hamper their large-scale commercialization.The combination of graphene shell with metal core could tune the electronic structure of carbon active sites.Recently,nitrogen doped graphene encapsulated metal or alloy(M@NG)has emerged as novel and fascinating electrocatalysts.In this review,we focus on some recent advances in designing M@NG electrocatalysts for HER,OER and ORR through tuning electronic structure and activity of carbon active sites.We have summarized some facile and universal strategy for synthesizing various M@NG via direct annealing of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs).With elaborated MOFs precursor design,careful control over the nitrogen doping level,metal element types and alloy structure,the electronic structure of carbon active sites can be rationally tuned to optimize activity for different electrochemical reactions.We hope this review can provide new insights into the design of M@NG with high catalytic activity.Yang Yang Jianwei Su Peng Jiang Jitang Chen Lin Hu Qianwang Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,9:2
17Performance of two biofilters with neutral and low pH treating off-gases显示文摘Two different functional biofilters were carried out and compared for the treatment of off-gas containing multicomponent odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in this study. The effects of pH values and the empty bed retention time (EBRT) on the performance of the bioreactors were studied; and the characteristics of microbial populations in the two biofilters were also determined. The experimental results indicated that the removal effciencies of hydrophilic compounds such as butyric acid and ammonia were higher in the neutral pH biofilter (NPB) than those in the low pH biofilter (LPB). In contrast, the removal effciencies of the compounds with poor water solubility such as styrene and ethyl mercaptan were higher in the LPB than those in the NPB. The characteristics of microbial population in the two biofilters revealed that the heterotrophic bacteria, nonacidophilic thiobacteria, ammonia oxidizing bacteria, and nitrite oxidizing bacteria were major microorganisms in the NPB, whereas acidophilic thiobacteria and fungi were dominant in the LPB. 18Effect of EME1 exon variant Ile350Thr on risk and early onset of breast cancer in southern Chinese women显示文摘Essential meiotic endonuclease 1 homolog 1 (EME1) is a key DNA repair protein that participates in the recognition and repair of DNA double-strand breaks. Deficiency of the EME1 gene can lead to spontaneous genomic instability and thus contribute to tumorgenesis. We hypothesized that the exon variants of EME1 confer genetic susceptibility to breast cancer. In a case-control study of 748 breast cancer patients and 778 normal controls, we analyzed the association between two exon variants of EME1 (i.e.,Ile350Thr: rs12450550T>C and Glu69Asp: rs3760413T>G) and breast cancer risk. We found that compared to the common Ile/Ile genotype, the Thr variant genotypes (Thr/Ile+Thr/Thr) conferred a 1.47-fold increased risk of breast cancer (OR=1.47, 95% CI=1.13-1.92). The variant Ile350Thr was also associated with early onset of breast cancer (r=-0.116, P=0.002). The mean age of onset was 44.4 years for Thr/Thr genotype carriers and 46.5 years for Thr/Ile genotype carriers, which was significantly lower than that (49.4 years) for Ile/Ile genotype carriers (P=0.006). Moreover, no significant association was observed between the Glu69Asp variant and breast cancer risk. 19Adsorption of humic acid from aqueous solution on bilayer hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide-modified zeolite显示文摘Surfactant-modified natural zeolites(SMNZ)with different coverage types were prepared by loading hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(HTAB)onto the surface of a natural zeolite.The adsorption behavior of humic acid(HA)on SMNZ was investigated.Results indicate that the adsorbent SMNZ exhibited a higher affinity toward HA than the natural zeolite.HA removal efficiency by SMNZ increased with HTAB loading.Coexisting Ca2+in solution favored HA adsorption onto SMNZ.Adsorption capacity decreased with an increasing solution pH.For typical SMNZ with bilayer HTAB coverage,HA adsorption process is well described by a pseudo-second-order kinetic model.The experimental isotherm data fitted well with the Langmuir model.Calculated maximum HA adsorption capacities for SMNZ with bilayer HTAB coverage at pH 5.5 and 7.5 were 63 and 41 mg·g^(-1),respectively.E2/E3(absorbance at 250 nm to that at 365 nm)and E4/E6(absorbance at 465 nm to that at 665 nm)ratios of the residual HA in solution were lower than that of the original HA solution.This indicates that the HA fractions with high polar functional groups,low molecular weight(MW),and aromaticity had a stronger tendency for adsorption onto SMNZ with bilayer HTAB coverage.Results show that HTABmodified natural zeolite is a promising adsorbent for removal of HA from aqueous solution.Yanhui ZHAN Jianwei LIN Yanling QIU Naiyun GAO Zhiliang ZHU 2011Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2011,5,1:2
