4Vulnerability assessment of the Satluj catchment for sustainable development of hydroelectric projects in the northwestern Himalaya显示文摘Hydropower if scientifically developed is considered to be one of the clean and non-polluted renewable energy sources. But its impacts always exist on physical and social environment of the area. The present study was conducted in the River Satluj basin which is well known for its hydropower potential. The main objective of the study was to understand the vulnerability of the Satluj basin and to develop a strategy for the development of hydropower projects. This basin has been facing many problems relating to construction of haphazard development of hydropower projects. This has led multi-hazards like landslides, floods, earthquakes, etc. Here, vulnerability assessment index was assessed quantitatively and qualitatively.Geographical Information System and people’s perception were used to study these aspects in the basin. The parameters considered for vulnerability assessment were slope, slope profile, relative relief, curvature, slope aspect, soil texture, lithology, river morphometry, precipitation, hydroelectric projects, land use and land cover,mass-movement,flood,geological elements and earthquake occurrences. The highest vulnerability was found in the middle zone, and finally on the basis of parameters analyzed;the hydropower’s development strategy was developed.Jagdish Chandra KUNIYAL Amit JAMWAL Nidhi KANWAR Bhim CHAND Kireet KUMAR Pitamber Prasad DHYANI 2019Journal of Mountain Science2019,16,12:1

10Multiple Elite Individual Guided Piecewise Search-Based Differential Evolution显示文摘The differential evolution(DE)algorithm relies mainly on mutation strategy and control parameters'selection. To take full advantage of top elite individuals in terms of fitness and success rates,a new mutation operator is proposed. The control parameters such as scale factor and crossover rate are tuned based on their success rates recorded over past evolutionary stages. The proposed DE variant,MIDE,performs the evolution in a piecewise manner,i.e.,after every predefined evolutionary stages,MIDE adjusts its settings to enrich its diversity skills. The performance of the MIDE is validated on two different sets of benchmarks:CEC 2014 and CEC 2017(special sessions&competitions on real-parameter single objective optimization)using different performance measures. In the end,MIDE is also applied to solve constrained engineering problems. The efficiency and effectiveness of the MIDE are further confirmed by a set of experiments.Shubham Gupta Shitu Singh Rong Su Shangce Gao Jagdish Chand Bansal 2023IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2023,10,1:0
11Magnetar giant flare originating from GRB 200415A:transient GeV emission, time-resolved E_(p)-L_(iso) correlation and implications显示文摘Giant flares(GFs)are unusual bursts from soft gamma-ray repeaters(SGRs)that release an enormous amount of energy in a fraction of a second. The afterglow emission of these SGR-GFs or GF candidates is a highly beneficial means of discerning their composition, relativistic speed and emission mechanisms.GRB 200415A is a recent GF candidate observed in a direction coincident with the nearby Sculptor galaxy at 3.5 Mpc.In this work,we searched for transient gamma-ray emission in past observations by Fermi-LAT in the direction of GRB 200415A.These observations confirm that GRB 200415A is observed as a transient GeV source only once.A pure pair-plasma fireball cannot provide the required energy for the interpretation of GeV afterglow emission and a baryonic poor outflow is additionally needed to explain the afterglow emission.A baryonic rich outflow is also viable,as it can explain the variability and observed quasi-thermal spectrum of the prompt emission if dissipation is happening below the photosphere via internal shocks.Using the peak energy(Ep)of the time-resolved prompt emission spectra and their fluxes(Fp),we found a correlation between Ep and Fp or isotropic luminosity Liso for GRB 200415A.This supports the intrinsic nature of Ep-Liso correlation found in SGRs-GFs,hence favoring a baryonic poor outflow. Our results also indicate a different mechanism at work during the initial spike, and that the evolution of the prompt emission spectral properties in this outflow would be intrinsically due to the injection process.Vikas Chand Jagdish C.Joshi Rahul Gupta Yu-Han Yang Dimple Vidushi Sharma Jun Yang Manoneeta Chakraborty Jin-Hang Zou Lang Shao Yi-Si Yang Bin-Bin Zhang Shashi Bhushan Pandey Ankush Banerjee Eman Moneer 2021Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2021,21,9:0
12Anthraquinone Derivatives as an Immune Booster and their Therapeutic Option Against COVID-19显示文摘Anthraquinone derivatives are identified for their immune-boosting,anti-inflammatory,and anti-viral efficacy.Hence, the pre-sent study aimed to investigate the reported anthraquinone derivatives as immune booster molecules in COVID-19 infection and evaluate their binding affinity with three reported targets of novel coronavirus i.e.3C-like protease,papain-like protease, and spike protein. The reported anthraquinone derivatives were retrieved from an open-source database and filtered based on a positive druglikeness score.Compounds with positive druglikeness scores were predicted for their targets using DIGEP-Pred and the interaction among modulated proteins was evaluated using STRING.Further, the associated pathways were recorded concerning the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway database. Finally, the docking was performed using autodock4 to identify the binding efficacy of anthraquinone derivatives with 3C-like protease,papain-like protease, and spike protein. After docking the pose of ligand scoring minimum binding energy was chosen to visualize the ligand-protein interaction.Among 101 bioactives,36 scored positive druglikeness score and regulated multiple pathways concerned with immune modulation and(non-)infectious diseases.Similarly, docking study revealed torososide B to possess the highest binding affinity with papain-like protease and 3C-like protease and 1,3,6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone-3-O-(6′-O-acetyl)-β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-d-glucopyranoside with spike protein.Pukar Khanal B.M.Patil Jagdish Chand Yasmin Naaz 2020Natural Products and Bioprospecting2020,10,5:0
