4Driving Style Recognition System Using Smartphone Sensors Based on Fuzzy Logic显示文摘Every 24 seconds,someone dies on the road due to road accidents and it is the 8th leading cause of death and the first among children aged 15–29 years.1.35 million people globally die every year due to road traffic crashes.An additional 20–50 million suffer from non-fatal injuries,often resulting in longterm disabilities.This costs around 3%of Gross Domestic Product to most countries,and it is a considerable economic loss.The governments have taken various measures such as better road infrastructures and strict enforcement of motor-vehicle laws to reduce these accidents.However,there is still no remarkable reduction in the number of accidents.To ensure driver safety and achieve vision of zero accidents,there is a great need to monitor drivers’driving styles.Most of the existing driving behavior monitoring solutions are based on expensive hardware sensors.As most people are using smartphones in the modern era,a system based on mobile application is proposed,which can reduce the cost for developing intelligent transport systems(ITS)to a large extent.In this paper,we utilize the accelerometer sensor data and the global positioning system(GPS)sensor deployed in smartphones to recognize driving and speeding events.A driving style recognition system based on fuzzy logic is designed to classify different driving styles and control reckless driving by taking the longitudinal/lateral acceleration and speed as input parameters.Thus,the proposed system uses fuzzy logic rather than taking the crisp values of the sensors.Results indicate that the proposed system can classify reckless driving based on fuzzy logic and,therefore,reduce the number of accidents.Nidhi Kalra Raman Kumar Goyal Anshu Parashar Jaskirat Singh Gagan Singla 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,11:1

10Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma: A case report with review of literature显示文摘Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma(PCOF) is a rare osteogenic neoplasm that ordinarily presents as an epulis-like growth. This is of a reactive rather than neoplastic nature and its pathogenesis is uncertain. PCOF predominantly affects adolescent and young adults with greatest prevalence around 28 years. We report here a rare clinical case of PCOF of the mandible, 1 cm mesiodistally and 1.5 cm occluso-gingivally in diameter, which caused difficulty in eating and speech, in a 42-year-old female patient. She was asymptomatic for 1 year and on follow-up for 6 mo post surgically showed gingival health and normal radioopacity of bone without any recurrence. Clinical, radiographic and histological characteristics are discussed and recommendations regarding differential diagnosis, treatment and follow up are provided. 11Longevity of animals under reactive oxygen species stress and disease susceptibility due to global warming显示文摘The world is projected to experience an approximate doubling of atmospheric CO_2 concentration in the next decades. Rise in atmospheric CO_2 level as one of the most important reasons is expected to contribute to raise the mean global temperature 1.4 ℃-5.8 ℃ by that time. A survey from 128 countries speculates that global warming is primarily due to increase in atmospheric CO_2 level that is produced mainly by anthropogenic activities. Exposure of animals to high environmental temperatures is mostly accompanied by unwanted acceleration of certain biochemical pathways in their cells. One of such examples is augmentation in generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and subsequent increase in oxidation of lipids, proteins and nucleic acids by ROS. Increase in oxidation of biomolecules leads to a state called as oxidative stress(OS). Finally, the increase in OS condition induces abnormality in physiology of animals under elevated temperature. Exposure of animals to rise in habitat temperature is found to boost the metabolism of animals and a very strong and positive correlation exists between metabolism and levels of ROS and OS. Continuous induction of OS is negatively correlated with survivability and longevity and positively correlated with ageing in animals. Thus, it can be predicted that continuous exposure of animals to acute or gradual rise in habitat temperature due to global warming may induce OS, reduced survivability and longevity in animals in general and poikilotherms in particular. A positive correlation between metabolism and temperature in general and altered O_2 consumption at elevated temperature in particular could also increase the risk of experiencing OS in homeotherms. Effects of global warming on longevity of animals through increased risk of protein misfolding and disease susceptibility due to OS as the cause or effects or both also cannot be ignored. 12Obtaining Crisp Priorities for Triangular and Trapezoidal Fuzzy Judgments显示文摘This paper proposes anoptimal fuzzy-based model for obtaining crisp priorities for Fuzzy-AHP comparison matrices.Crisp judgments cannot be given for real-life situations,as most of these include some level of fuzziness and com-plexity.In these situations,judgments are represented by the set of fuzzy numbers.Most of the fuzzy optimization models derive crisp priorities for judgments repre-sented with Triangular Fuzzy Numbers(TFNs)only.They do not work for other types of Triangular Shaped Fuzzy Numbers(TSFNs)and Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers(TrFNs).To overcome this problem,a sum of squared error(SSE)based optimization model is proposed.Unlike some other methods,the proposed model derives crisp weights from all of the above-mentioned fuzzy judgments.A fuzzy number is simulated using the Monte Carlo method.A threshold-based constraint is also applied to minimize the deviation from the initial judgments.Genetic Algorithm(GA)is used to solve the optimization model.We have also conducted casestudiesto show the proposed approach’s advantages over the existingmethods.Results show that the proposed model outperforms other models to minimize SSE and deviation from initial judgments.Thus,the proposed model can be applied in various real time scenarios as it can reduce the SSE value upto 29%compared to the existing studies.Raman Kumar Goyal Jaskirat Singh Nidhi Kalra Anshu Parashar Gagan Singla Sakshi Kaushal 2022Computer Systems Science & Engineering2022,41,4:0
13Performance evaluation of NeuMoDx 96 system for hepatitis B and C viral load显示文摘BACKGROUND Hepatitis B virus(HBV)and hepatitis C virus(HCV)viral load(VL)estimation is essential for the management of both HBV and HCV infections.Due to a longer turnaround time for VL estimation,many patients drop out from the cascade of care.To achieve the global goals of reducing morbidity and mortality due to HBV/HCV and moving towards their elimination by 2030,molecular diagnostic platforms with faster and random(i.e.single sample)access are needed.AIM To evaluate the performance of the recently launched NeuMoDx 96 random access system with the conventional COBAS^(■)AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan system for HBV and HCV VL estimation.METHODS Archived once-thawed plasma samples were retrieved and tested on both platforms.Correlation between the assays was determined by linear regression and Bland-Altman analysis.The study included samples from 186 patients,99 for HBV of which 49 were true infected HBV cases(hepatitis B surface antigen,antihepatitis B core antibody,and HBV DNA-positive)and 87 for HCV assay in which 39 were true positives for HCV infection(anti-HCV and HCV RNA-positive).RESULTS The median VL detected by NeuMoDx for HBV was 2.9(interquartile range[IQR]:2.0-4.3)log_(10)IU/mL and by COBAS it was 3.70(IQR:2.28-4.56)log_(10)IU/mL,with excellent correlation(R2=0.98).In HCV,the median VL detected by NeuMoDx was 4.9(IQR:4.2-5.4)log_(10)IU/mL and by COBAS it was 5.10(IQR:4.07-5.80)log_(10)IU/mL with good correlation(R2=0.96).CONCLUSION The overall concordance between both the systems was 100%for both HBV and HCV VL estimation.Moreover,no genotype-specific bias for HBV/HCV VL quantification was seen in both the systems.Our findings reveal that NeuMoDx HBV and HCV quantitative assays have shown overall good clinical performance and provide faster results with 100%sensitivity and specificity compared to the COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan system.Gagan Chooramani Jasmine Samal Nitiksha Rani Gaurav Singh Reshu Agarwal Meenu Bajpai Manoj Kumar Manya Prasad Ekta Gupta 2023World Journal of Virology2023,12,4:0
14Role of extracellular vesicles secretion in paclitaxel resistance of prostate cancer cells显示文摘Aim:The development of chemotherapy resistance is the major obstacle in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer(PCa).Extracellular vesicles(EVs)secretion plays a significant role among different mechanisms contributing to chemoresistance.Hence,inhibition of EVs release may increase the efficacy of chemotherapeutic drugs against PCa.Methods:Paclitaxel(PTX)resistant PCa cells(PC3-R and DU145-R)were treated with GW4869,a known exosome biogenesis inhibitor.EVs were isolated from the conditioned media by ExoQuick-based precipitation method and characterized for concentration and size distribution by nanoparticle tracking analysis.The effect of GW4869 treatment on the survival and growth of PCa cells was assessed by MTT,and colony formation assays in vitro,and ectopic PC3-R xenografts in male athymic nude mice in vivo.The effect of other EV biogenesis inhibitors,imipramine and dimethyl amiloride(DMA),treatment was also analyzed on the survival of PC3-R cells.Results:GW4869(10-20μM)treatment of PTX resistant PCa cells significantly reduced the release of small EVs(50-100 nm size range)while increasing the release of larger EVs(>150 nm in size),and inhibited their clonogenicity.Moreover,GW4869(5-20μM)treatment(24-72h)significantly inhibited the survival of PC3-R cells in a dose-dependent manner.We observed a similar growth inhibition with both imipramine(5-20μg/mL)and DMA(5-20μg/mL)treatment in PC3-R cells.Furthermore,GW4869 treatment(IP)in mice bearing PC3-R xenografts significantly reduced the tumor weight(65%reduction,P=0.017)compared to the vehicle-treated control mice without causing any noticeable toxicity.Conclusion:Inhibiting the release of EVs could sensitize the resistant PCa cells to chemotherapy.Ashish Kumar Pawan Kumar Mitu Sharma Susy Kim Sangeeta Singh Steven J.Kridel Gagan Deep 2022Cancer Drug Resistance2022,5,3:0
