2Carbon pools and fluxes in the China Seas and adjacent oceans显示文摘The China Seas include the South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Bohai Sea. Located off the Northwestern Pacific margin, covering 4700000 km^2 from tropical to northern temperate zones, and including a variety of continental margins/basins and depths, the China Seas provide typical cases for carbon budget studies. The South China Sea being a deep basin and part of the Western Pacific Warm Pool is characterized by oceanic features; the East China Sea with a wide continental shelf, enormous terrestrial discharges and open margins to the West Pacific, is featured by strong cross-shelf materials transport; the Yellow Sea is featured by the confluence of cold and warm waters; and the Bohai Sea is a shallow semiclosed gulf with strong impacts of human activities. Three large rivers, the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Pearl River, flow into the East China Sea, the Bohai Sea, and the South China Sea, respectively. The Kuroshio Current at the outer margin of the Chinese continental shelf is one of the two major western boundary currents of the world oceans and its strength and position directly affect the regional climate of China. These characteristics make the China Seas a typical case of marginal seas to study carbon storage and fluxes. This paper systematically analyzes the literature data on the carbon pools and fluxes of the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea, including different interfaces(land-sea, sea-air, sediment-water, and marginal sea-open ocean) and different ecosystems(mangroves, wetland, seagrass beds, macroalgae mariculture, coral reefs, euphotic zones, and water column). Among the four seas, the Bohai Sea and South China Sea are acting as CO_2 sources, releasing about0.22 and 13.86–33.60 Tg C yr^(-1) into the atmosphere, respectively, whereas the Yellow Sea and East China Sea are acting as carbon sinks, absorbing about 1.15 and 6.92–23.30 Tg C yr^(-1) of atmospheric CO_2, respectively. Overall, if only the CO_2 exchange at the sea-air interface is considered, the Chinese marginal seas appear to be a source of atmospheric CO_2, with a net release of 6.01–9.33 Tg C yr^(-1), mainly from the inputs of rivers and adjacent oceans. The riverine dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) input into the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 5.04, 14.60, and 40.14 Tg C yr^(-1),respectively. The DIC input from adjacent oceans is as high as 144.81 Tg C yr^(-1), significantly exceeding the carbon released from the seas to the atmosphere. In terms of output, the depositional fluxes of organic carbon in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 2.00, 3.60, 7.40, and 5.92 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The fluxes of organic carbon from the East China Sea and South China Sea to the adjacent oceans are 15.25–36.70 and 43.93 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The annual carbon storage of mangroves, wetlands, and seagrass in Chinese coastal waters is 0.36–1.75 Tg C yr^(-1), with a dissolved organic carbon(DOC) output from seagrass beds of up to 0.59 Tg C yr^(-1). Removable organic carbon flux by Chinese macroalgae mariculture account for 0.68 Tg C yr^(-1) and the associated POC depositional and DOC releasing fluxes are 0.14 and 0.82 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. Thus, in total, the annual output of organic carbon, which is mainly DOC, in the China Seas is 81.72–104.56 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the East China Sea to the adjacent oceans is 15.00–35.00 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the South China Sea is 31.39 Tg C yr^(-1). 3Fault-Induced Coal Burst Mechanism under Mining-Induced Static and Dynamic Stresses显示文摘Fault is a common geological structure that has been revealed in the process of underground coal excavation and mining.The nature of its discontinuous structure controls the deformation,damage,and mechanics of the coal or rock mass.The interaction between this discontinuous structure and mining activities is a key factor that dominates fault reactivation and the coal burst it can induce.This paper first summarizes investigations into the relationships between coal mining layouts and fault occurrences,along with relevant conceptual models for fault reactivation.Subsequently,it proposes mechanisms of fault reactivation and its induced coal burst based on the superposition of static and dynamic stresses,which include two kinds of fault reactivations from:mining-induced quasi-static stress(FRMSS)-dominated and seismic-based dynamic stress(FRSDS)-dominated.These two kinds of fault reactivations are then validated by the results of experimental investigations,numerical modeling,and in situ microseismic monitoring.On this basis,monitoring methods and prevention strategies for fault-induced coal burst are discussed and recommended.The results show that fault-induced coal burst is triggered by the superposition of high static stress in the fault pillar and dynamic stress from fault reactivation.High static stress comes from the interaction of the fault and the roof structure,and dynamic stress can be ascribed to FRMSS and FRSDS.The results in this paper could be of great significance in guiding the monitoring and prevention of fault-induced coal bursts.Wu Cai Linming Dou Guangyao Si Yawei Hu 2021Engineering2021,7,5:8
4Sustainable Practice in Pavement Engineering through Value-Added Collective Recycling of Waste Plastic and Waste Tyre Rubber显示文摘Waste plastics,such as waste polyethylene terephthalate(PET)beverage bottles and waste rubber tyres are major municipal solid wastes,which may lead to various environmental problems if they are not appropriately recycled.In this study,the feasibility of collectively recycling the two types of waste into performance-increasing modifiers for asphalt pavements was analyzed.This study aimed to investigate the recycling mechanisms of waste PET-derived additives under the treatment of two amines,triethylenetetramine(TETA)and ethanolamine(EA),and characterize the performances of these additives in modifying rubberized bitumen,a bitumen modified by waste tyre rubber.To this end,infrared spectroscopy and thermal analyses were carried out on the two PET-derived additives(PET–TETA and PET–EA).In addition,infrared spectroscopy,viscosity,dynamic shear rheology,and multiple stress creep recovery tests were performed on the rubberized bitumen samples modified by the two PET-derived additives.We concluded that waste PET can be chemically upcycled into functional additives,which can increase the overall performance of the rubberized bitumen.The recycling method developed in this study not only helps alleviate the landfilling problems of both waste PET plastic and scrap tyres,but also turns these wastes into value-added new materials for building durable pavements.Xiong Xu Zhen Leng Jingting Lan Wei Wang Jiangmiao Yu Yawei Bai Anand Sreeram Jing Hu 2021Engineering2021,7,6:7
5Remaining Useful Life Model and Assessment of Mechanical Products: A Brief Review and a Note on the State Space Model Method显示文摘The remaining useful life(RUL) prediction of mechanical products has been widely studied for online system performance reliability, device remanufacturing, and product safety(safety awareness and safety improvement). These studies incorporated many di erent models, algorithms, and techniques for modeling and assessment. In this paper, methods of RUL assessment are summarized and expounded upon using two major methods: physics model based and data driven based methods. The advantages and disadvantages of each of these methods are deliberated and compared as well. Due to the intricacy of failure mechanism in system, and di culty in physics degradation observation, RUL assessment based on observations of performance variables turns into a science in evaluating the degradation. A modeling method from control systems, the state space model(SSM), as a first order hidden Markov, is presented. In the context of non-linear and non-Gaussian systems, the SSM methodology is capable of performing remaining life assessment by using Bayesian estimation(sequential Monte Carlo). Being e ective for non-linear and non-Gaussian dynamics, the methodology can perform the assessment recursively online for applications in CBM(condition based maintenance), PHM(prognostics and health management), remanufacturing, and system performance reliability. 7Introduction of porous structure:A feasible and promising method for improving thermoelectric performance of Bi_2Te_3 based bulks显示文摘The porous p-type Bi_(0.4)Sb_(1.6)Te_3 bulks containing irregularly and randomly oriented pores were obtained by artificially controlling the relative density of sintered samples during resistance pressing sintering process. It is demonstrated that the thermoelectric performances are significantly affected by the porous structure, especially for the electrical and thermal conductivity due to the enhanced carrier scattering and phonon scattering. The increasing porosity resulted in the obvious decrease in electrical and thermal conductivity, and little change in Seebeck coefficients. It is encouraging that the reduction of thermal conductivity can compensate for the deterioration of electrical performance, leading to the enhancement in thermoelectric figure of merit(ZT). The maximum ZT value of 1.0 was obtained for the sample with a relative density of 90% at 333 K. Unfortunately, the increase in porosity also brought in obvious degradations in Vickers hardness from 51.71 to 27.74 HV. It is worth mentioning that although the Vickers hardness of the sample with a relative density of 90% decreased to 40.12 HV, it was still about twice as high as that of the zone melting sample(21.25 HV). 10High mass loading Ni_(4)Co_(1)-OH@CuO core-shell nanowire arrays obtained by electrochemical reconstruction for alkaline energy storage显示文摘The design of three-dimensional(30)core-shell hetercistructures is an efficient method to achieve high mass specific capacity of electroactive materials under high mass loading.In this work,porous Ni_(4)Co1-0H nanosheets with a mass loading of 7.7 mg·cm^(-2) are obtained by using Ni_(4)Cor(NO_(3))_(2)(0H)_(4) supported on the CuO nanowires as precursors via an unavoidable electrochemically induced phase reconstruction.During the electrochemical reconstruction process,the N03-anions in Ni_(4)Cor(N0_(3))_(2)(0H)_(4) are easily replaced by OH-anions in the electrolyte.The phase reconstruction is accompanied by the decrease of ionic diffusion.:resistance and the increase of pore volume,and the shift of binding energy.The obtained Ni4Co1-0H nanosheets show a high:mass specific capacity of 363.6 mAh·g^(-1) at 5 mA·cm^(-2).The as-fabricated alkaline hybrid supercapacitor and Ni-Zn battery deliver high energy density of 293.1 and 604.9 Wh·kg^(-1),respectively,indicating.excellent alkaline energy storage performance.Yawei Yu Xiulan Hu Shuai Wang Handan Qiao Zeyu Liu Kefan Song Xiaodong Shen 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:1
11Improved performance and air stability of perovskite solar cells based on low-cost organic hole-transporting material X60 by incorporating its dicationic salt显示文摘The development of an efficient, stable, and low-cost hole-transporting material (HTM) is of great significance for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) from future commercialization point of view. Herein, we specifically synthesize a dicationic salt of X60 termed X60(TFSI)2, and adopt it as an effective and stable 'doping' agent to replace the previously used lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) for the low-cost organic HTM X60 in PSCs. The incorporation of this dicationic salt significantly increases the hole conductivity of X60 by two orders of magnitude from 10-6 to 10-4 S cm-1. The dramatic enhancement of the conductivity leads to an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.0% measured at 1 sun illumination (100 mW cm-2, AM 1.5 G), which is comparable to that of the device doped with LiTFSI (19.3%) under an identical condition. More strikingly, by replacing LiTFSI, the PSC devices incorporating X60(TFSI)2 also show an excellent long-term durability under ambient atmosphere for 30 days, mainly due to the hydrophobic nature of the X60(TFSI)2 doped HTM layer,which can effectively prevent the moisture destroying the perovskite layer. 15Experimental and numerical study of the adsorption performance of a vortex suction device using water-swirling flow显示文摘An electrically activated underwater suction device is designed to form an amazing amount of negative pressure by generating water swirling flow,which can make underwater wall-climbing robot stick to the wall surface allowing a ground clearance.For the purpose of a full understanding of the mechanism of the suction device,a series of experimental tests are carried out and a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model is established.The results show that the suction force F is consistent between experimental tests and simulations.An insight into the flow phenomena of vortex suction device,including spatial velocity and pressure distribution,is given through numerical simulation analysis.Furthermore,the crucial parameters,i.e.,the rotation speedωand gap clearance h,are studied.Then the relationships of F-ωand F-h are clarified.It reveals that with the increasing of rotation speed,the suction force increases quadratically.And with the increasing of gap clearance,the suction force increases firstly and then decreases,so that a reasonable design interval of gap clearance can be got to obtain the required suction force for the engineering applications.ZHU YaWei ZHOU RenGuan YANG Gang ZHU YanQing HU DeAn 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,6:1
16Membranes for extracorporeal membrane oxygenator(ECMO): History,preparation, modification and mass transfer显示文摘Extracorporeal membrane oxygenator(ECMO) has been in development for nearly 70 years, and the oxygenator has gone through several generations of optimizations, with advances from bubble oxygenators to membrane oxygenators leading to more and more widespread use of ECMO. Membrane is the core of a ECMO system and the working mechanism of membrane oxygenator depends on the membrane material,from PDMS flat membrane to PMP hollow fiber membrane, which have experienced three generations.Blood compatibility on the surface of the membrane material is very vital, which directly determines the use duration of the oxygenator and can reduce the occurrence of complications. The mechanism of mass transfer is the basis of oxygenator operation and optimization. This review summarizes the membrane development history and preparation technology, modification approaches and mass transfer theory in the process of oxygen and blood exchange. 17Treatment of refractory H.pylori by Chai Ping Decoction:two case reports显示文摘目的:幽门螺杆菌感染是最常见的感染之一,目前已经广泛应用了很多医学治疗措施,比如四联疗法和序贯疗法。但部分患者经多次治疗仍有感染。在幽门螺杆菌感染的治疗中,中药得到了广泛的应用。对于反复感染幽门螺杆菌的患者,中医治疗与抗生素治疗相结合是否有效尚需临床观察。方法:报告2例难治性幽门螺杆菌感染病例。一例是一名60岁的中国妇女,诊断为慢性萎缩性胃炎和幽门螺杆菌感染,胃部不适,食欲不振,情绪低落,排便不规律。另一例是一名46岁的越南妇女,已经腹痛11年。我们采用柴平汤联合序贯治疗两例患者。结果:两例患者治疗后均疼痛缓解,幽门螺杆菌被根除。结论:中药联合序贯治疗可能清除幽门螺杆菌感染。根据中医理论,患者出现腹部不适症状,为脾虚湿气证,可以被较好的治疗。Heqing Chen Yawei Du Xiaoyi Tang Shuo Feng Xiaoli Wang Xinyi Li Yeyin Hu Youping Li Guihua Tian Bo Li 2018TMR Clinical Research2018,1,2:0
18Boosting for Distributed Online Convex Optimization显示文摘Decentralized Online Learning(DOL)extends online learning to the domain of distributed networks.However,limitations of local data in decentralized settings lead to a decrease in the accuracy of decisions or models compared to centralized methods.Considering the increasing requirement to achieve a high-precision model or decision with distributed data resources in a network,applying ensemble methods is attempted to achieve a superior model or decision with only transferring gradients or models.A new boosting method,namely Boosting for Distributed Online Convex Optimization(BD-OCO),is designed to realize the application of boosting in distributed scenarios.BD-OCO achieves the regret upper bound O(M+N/MNT)where M measures the size of the distributed network and N is the number of Weak Learners(WLs)in each node.The core idea of BD-OCO is to apply the local model to train a strong global one.BD-OCO is evaluated on the basis of eight different real-world datasets.Numerical results show that BD-OCO achieves excellent performance in accuracy and convergence,and is robust to the size of the distributed network.Yuhan Hu Yawei Zhao Lailong Luo Deke Guo 2023Tsinghua Science and Technology2023,28,4:0
19UTI: a double-function inhibitor isolated from naked flax seeds显示文摘Acute glucose fluctuation during the postprandial period causes a risk fo r type 2 diabetes m ellitus(T2DM).a-Glucosidase inhibitors have been approved as therapeutic agents fo r diabetes.In the present study,a protein w ith a-glucosidase inhibitory activity from Flax(Linum usitatissimum)seeds was isolated using a one-step purification w ith Q-Sepharose4B colum n,follow ed by Sephacryl S-200 size-exclusion chromatography.It was identified as a trypsin inhibitor,named L.usitatissimum trypsin inh ibito r(LUTI).The half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of LUTI was 113.92 pM fo r a-glucosidase and 6.17 pM for trypsin.Lineweaver-Burk kinetic experim ent showed that the protein exhibited tw o distinct inhibitory modes,a com petitive inh ibito r type for a-glucosidase and a non-com petitive type fo r trypsin.The interaction between LUTI and aglucosidase was detected through gel filtration chromatography and dynam ic light scattering.Increased glucose consum ption and lactic acid production were also observed fo llo w in g LUTI treatm ent in Caco-2 and HepG2 cells.LUTI inhibits not only the activity of trypsin but also the activity of a-glucosidase.It is expected that LUTI w ill become an oral hypoglycem ic polypeptide drug fo r T2DM.Lei Wang Yinglu Chen Feng Wu Shasha Wu Xiaojun Hu Yawei Shi 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,10:0
20Comparison of mini-probe endoscopic ultrasonography with computed tomography scan in preoperative staging of esophageal cancer显示文摘Objective:To compare mini-probe endoscopic ultrasonography(MCUS)with computed tomography(CT)in pre-operative T and N staging of esophageal cancer,and to find out the MCUS parameters to judge lymph nodes metastasis for esophageal cancer.Methods:Thirty-five patients received both MCUS and CT preoperatively,on both of which the T and N stages were determined.The accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,positive predicting value and negative predicting value were compared with the postoperative pathological results.Results:The accuracy of MCUS was 85.7% in T staging and 85.7% and 80.0% in N staging by two different methods,which were 45.7% and 74.3%,respectively,by CT.Conclusion:MCUS is better than CT in preoperative staging for esophageal cancer.The ratio of short to long axis(S/L)combined with short axis is a useful way to determine lymph nodes metastasis.Hong Hu Jiaqing Xiang Yawei Zhang Jie Chen Yajia Gu Longsheng Miao Longfei Ma 2006The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2006,5,6:0
