2Effects of annealing treatment on the microstructure and electrochemical properties of low-Co hydrogen storage alloys containing Cu and Fe显示文摘The effects of annealing treatment on the microstructure and electrochemical properties of low-Co LaNi 3.55 Mn 0.35 Co 0.20 Al 0.20 Cu 0.75 Fe 0.10 hydrogen storage alloys were investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated that annealing treatment remarkably reduced the lattice strain and defects, and increased the unit-cell volume. The optical microscope analysis showed that the as-cast alloy had a crass dendrite microstructure with noticeable composition segregation, which gradually disappeared with increasing annealing temperature, and the micro-structure changed to an equiaxed structure after annealing the alloy at 1233 K. The electrochemical tests indicated that the annealed alloys demonstrated much better cycling stability compared with the as-cast one. The capacity retention at the 100th cycle increased from 90.0% (as-cast) to 94.7% (1273 K). The annealing treatment also improved the discharge capacity. 3A Critical Time-Window for the Selective Induction of Hippocampal Memory Consolidation by a Brief Episode of Slow-Wave Sleep显示文摘Although extensively studied, the exact role of sleep in learning and memory is still not very clear. Sleep deprivation has been most frequently used to explore the effects of sleep on learning and memory, but the results from such studies are inevitably complicated by concurrent stress and distress. Furthermore, it is not clear whether there is a strict time-window between sleep and memory consolidation. In the present study we were able to induce time-locked slow-wave sleep(SWS) in mice by optogenetically stimulating GABAergic neurons in the parafacial zone(PZ), providing a direct approach to analyze the influences of SWS on learning and memory with precise time-windows. We found that SWS induced by light for 30 min immediately or 15 min after the training phase of the object-in-place task significantly prolonged the memory from 30 min to 6 h. However, induction of SWS 30 min after the training phase did not improve memory, suggesting a critical time-window between the induction of a brief episode of SWS and learning for memory consolidation.Application of a gentle touch to the mice during light stimulation to prevent SWS induction also failed to improve memory, indicating the specific role of SWS,but not the activation of PZ GABAergic neurons itself, in memory consolidation. Similar influences of light-induced SWS on memory consolidation also occurred for Y-maze spatial memory and contextual fear memory, but not for cued fear memory. SWS induction immediately before the test phase had no effect on memory performance, indicating that SWS does not affect memory retrieval. 4Synthesis of Mg-based composite material with in-situ formed LaH_3 and its hydrogen storage characteristics显示文摘In this work,a Mg-based composite material with in-situ formed LaH3, Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4 + 20 wt% LaH3,was prepared by ball milling LiBH_4 and hydrogenated LaMg_2 Ni and Mg_2 Ni powder mixture, followed by heat treatment at 573 K. The onset dehydrogenation temperature of the composite is reduced by 50 K compared with that of Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4. The LaH3-doped composite shows faster kinetics,absorbing1.43 wt% hydrogen within 100 s at 423 K,which is 6.5 times faster than Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH4. Moreover,the composite releases 1.24 wt% hydrogen within 500 s at 573 K,0.69 wt% higher than Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4. The activation energy of the composite is reduced by 8.2 and 80 kJ/mol compared with that of Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4 and commercial MgH_2, respectively. 7Phase structure and hydrogen storage properties of LaMg_(3.70)Ni_(1.18) alloy显示文摘The phase structure and hydrogen storage properties of LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy were investigated. The LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy consists of main LaMg 2 Ni phase, minor La 2 Mg 17 and LaMg 3 phases. The alloy can be activated in the first hydriding/dehydriding process, and initial LaMg 2 Ni, La 2 Mg 17 , and LaMg 3 phases transfer to LaH 2.34 , Mg, and Mg 2 Ni phases after activation. The reversible hydrogen storage capacity of the LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy is 2.47 wt.% at 558 K, which is higher than that of the LaMg 2 Ni alloy. The pressure-composition-temperature (PCT) curves display two hydriding plateaus, corresponding to the formation of MgH 2 and Mg 2 NiH 4 . However, only one dehydriding plateau is observed, owing to the synergetic effect of hydrogen desorption between MgH 2 and Mg 2 NiH 4 . The uptake time for hydrogen content to reach 99% of saturated state is less than 250 s, and 90% hydrogen can be released in 1200 s in the experimental conditions, showing fast kinetics in hydriding and dehydriding. The activation energies of the LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy are -51.5 ± 1.1 kJ/mol and -57.0 ± 0.6 kJ/mol for hydriding and dehydriding, respectively. 8Superior electrochemical performance of La-Mg-Ni-based alloys with novel A_(2)B_(7)-A_(7)B_(23) biphase superlattice structure显示文摘Nickel metal hydride(Ni-MH) rechargeable batteries hold an important position in the new-energy vehicle market owing to their key technology advantages. Their negative electrode materials—hydrogen storage alloys(HSAs) are always on the spotlight and are the key to compete with the burgeoning Li-ion batteries. Here, for the first time we report a series of biphase supperlattice HSAs with a(La,Mg)_(2)Ni_7 matrix phase and a novel(La,Mg)_(7)Ni_(23) secondary phase. The biphase alloys show discharge capacities of402–413 m Ahg^(-1) compared with 376–397 mAhg^(-1) of the other multi-or single-phase alloys. These values are among the highest for superlattice HSAs. In addition, the alloy with 15.4 wt.%(La,Mg)_(7)Ni_(23) phase exhibits good high rate dischargeability due to the proper compromise between the amount of crystal boundaries and equilibrium plateau voltage. The cycling stability of the biphase alloys is lower than that of the single-phase alloy but is till higher than the multiphase alloy. 10Direct observation of chaotic resonances in optical microcavities显示文摘Optical microcavities play a significant role in the study of classical and quantum chaos.To date,most experimental explorations of their internal wave dynamics have focused on the properties of their inputs and outputs,without directly interrogating the dynamics and the associated mode patterns inside.As a result,this key information is rarely retrieved with certainty,which significantly restricts the verification and understanding of the actual chaotic motion.Here we demonstrate a simple and robust approach to directly and rapidly map the internal mode patterns in chaotic microcavities.By introducing a local index perturbation through a pump laser,we report a spectral response of optical microcavities that is proportional to the internal field distribution.With this technique,chaotic modes with staggered mode spacings can be distinguished.Consequently,a complete chaos assisted tunneling(CAT)and its time-reversed process are experimentally verified in the optical domain with unprecedented certainty.Shuai Wang Shuai Liu Yilin Liu Shumin Xiao Zi Wang Yubin Fan Jiecai Han Li Ge Qinghai Song 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,8:3
11CoPt-Co hybrid supported on amino modified SiO2 nanospheres as a high performance catalyst for hydrogen generation from ammonia borane显示文摘CoPt-Co hybrids were successfully supported on amino modified SiO2 nanospheres by a chemical reduction method at a temperature of 278 K.The solid carrier i.e.amino modified SiO2,provides numerous anchoring sites for the metal nanoparticles(NPs)to improve the dispersion while reducing the size of metal NPs.The supported NPs displayed a narrow particle size distribution on the SiO2 surface with an average diameter of 12 nm.The XRD results alongside with the binary alloy phase diagram suggest that the resulted NPs are bimetallic,composed of CoPt and amorphous Co.Among the prepared materials,the solid with the specific composition of SiO2@Pt0.1Co0.9was proved to be effective catalyst for ammonia borane(AB)hydrolysis in aqueous solution.The turnover frequency(TOF)value of the supported nanocatalyst was 25.59molH2min^-1·molM^-1,almost twice as that of unsupported Pt0.1Co0.9NPs while the activation energy was 37.05 kJ mol^-1.Furthermore,the SiO2@Pt0.1Co0.9composite manifested high catalytic activity even after five cycles of reuse.Hongming Zhang Dandan Ke Lina Cheng Xuelei Feng Xuewei Hou Jin Wang Yuan Li Shumin Han 2019Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2019,29,1:2
12Shifting from homogeneous to heterogeneous surfaces in estimating terrestrial evapotranspiration: Review and perspectives显示文摘Terrestrial evapotranspiration(ET)is a crucial link between Earth’s water cycle and the surface energy budget.Accurate measurement and estimation remain a major challenge in geophysical,biological,and environmental studies.Pioneering work,represented by Dalton and Penman,and the development of theories and experiments on turbulent exchange in the atmospheric boundary layer(ABL),laid the foundation for mainstream methodologies in ET estimation.Since the 1990s,eddy covariance(EC)systems and satellite remote sensing have been widely applied from cold to tropical and from arid to humid regions.They cover water surfaces,wetlands,forests,croplands,grasslands,barelands,and urban areas,offering an exceptional number of reports on diverse ET processes.Surface nocturnal ET,hysteresis between ET and environmental forces,turbulence intermittency,island effects on heterogeneous surfaces,and phase transition between underlying surfaces are examples of reported new phenomena,posing theoretical and practical challenges to mainstream ET methodologies.Additionally,based on non-conventional theories,new methods have emerged,such as maximum entropy production and nonparametric approaches.Furthermore,high-frequency on-site observation and aerospace remote sensing technology in combination form multi-scale observations across plant stomata,leaves,plants,canopies,landscapes,and basins.This promotes an insightful understanding of diverse ET processes and synthesizes the common mechanisms of the processes between and across spatial and temporal scales.All the recent achievements in conception,model,and technology serve as the basis for breaking through the known difficulties in ET estimation.We expect that they will provide a rigorous,reliable scientific basis and experimental support to address theoretical arguments of global significance,such as the water-heat-carbon cycle,and solve practical needs of national importance,including agricultural irrigation and food security,precise management of water resources and eco-environmental protection,and regulation of the urban thermal environment and climate change adaptation.Yuanbo LIU Guoyu QIU Hongsheng ZHANG Yonghui YANG Yinsheng ZHANG Quan WANG Wenzhi ZHAO Li JIA Xibin JI Yujiu XIONG Chunhua YAN Ning MA Shumin HAN Yifan CUI 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,2:2

15Hydrolytic dehydrogenation of ammonia borane catalyzed by poly(amidoamine) dendrimers-modified reduced graphene oxide nanosheets supported Ag_(0.3)Co_(0.7) nanoparticles显示文摘Poly(amidoamine) dendrimers-modified reduced graphene oxide nanosheets(PAMAM/rGO) composite was selected as a carrier of heterogeneous Ag_(0.3)Co_(0.7) nanoparticles in order to obtain an excellent catalyst for ammonia borane(AB) hydrolysis. During the synthetic processes, GO could easily assembled with PAMAM by the electrostatic and hydrogen-bonding interactions. Structural characterization revealed that Ag_(0.3)Co_(0.7) bimetallic nanoparticles with uniform size distribution of 5 nm are well dispersed on PAMAM/rGO composite architecture. Ag_(0.3)Co_(0.7)@PAMAM/rGO was found to be a highly active and reusable catalyst in hydrogen generation from the hydrolysis of AB with a turnover frequency value(TOF) of 19.79 mol_(H2) min^(-1) mol_M^(-1) at 25.0±0.1℃ and retained 75.4% of their initial activity with a complete release of hydrogen in five runs.
