| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 2 | Effect of selected signals of interest on ultrasonic backscattering measurement in cancellous bones显示文摘This study examined how the signals of interest (SOI) effect on the backscattering measurement numerically based on 3-D finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. High resolution microstructure mappings of bovine cancellous bones provided by micro-CT were used as the input geometry for simulations. Backscatter coefficient (BSC), integrated backscatter coefficient (IBC) and apparent integrated backscatter (AIB) were calculated with changing the start (L1) and duration (L2) of the SOI. The results demonstrated that BSC and IBC decrease as L1 increases, and AIB decreases more rapidly as L1 increases. The backscattering parameters increase with fluctuations as a function of L2 when L2 is less than 6 mm. However, BSC and IBC change little as L2 continues to increase, while AIB slowly decreases as L2 continues to increase. The results showed how the selections of the SOI effect on the backscattering measurement. | 6 | The chromosome-scale genome of Phoebe bournei reveals contrasting fates of terpene synthase (TPS)-a and TPS-b subfamilies显示文摘Terpenoids,including aromatic volatile monoterpenoids and sesquiterpenoids,function in defense against pathogens and herbivores.Phoebe trees are remarkable for their scented wood and decay resistance.Unlike other Lauraceae species investigated to date,Phoebe species predominantly accumulate sesquiterpenoids instead of monoterpenoids.Limited genomic data restrict the elucidation of terpenoid variation and functions.Here,we present a chromosome-scale genome assembly of a Lauraceae tree,Phoebe bournei,and identify 72 full-length terpene synthase(TPS)genes.Genome-level comparison shows pervasive lineage-specific duplication and contraction of TPS subfamilies,which have contributed to the extreme terpenoid variation within Lauraceae species.Although the TPS-a and TPS-b subfamilies were both expanded via tandem duplication in P.bournei,more TPS-a copies were retained and constitutively expressed,whereas more TPS-b copies were lost.The TPS-a genes on chromosome 8 functionally diverged to synthesize eight highly accumulated sesquiterpenes in P.bournei.The essential oil of P.bournei and its main component,b-caryophyllene,exhibited antifungal activities against the three most widespread canker pathogens of trees.The TPS-a and TPS-b subfamilies have experienced contrasting fates over the evolution of P.bournei.The abundant sesquiterpenoids produced by TPS-a proteins contribute to the excellent pathogen resistance of P.bournei trees.Overall,this study sheds light on the evolution and adaptation of terpenoids in Lauraceae and provides valuable resources for boosting plant immunity against pathogens in various trees and crops. | Xiao Han Junhong Zhang Shuang Han Sun Li Chong Guanliang Meng Minyan Song Yang Wang Shengcai Zhou Chengcheng Liu Luhuan Lou Xiongzhen Lou Longjun Cheng Erpei Lin Huahong Huang Qi Yang Zaikang Tong | 2022 | Plant Communications2022,3,6: | 3 |

| 8 | EEG processing and its application in brain-computer interface显示文摘Electroencephalogram (EEG) is an efficient tool in exploring human brains. It plays a very important role in diagnosis of disorders related to epilepsy and development of new interaction techniques between machines and human beings,namely,brain-computer interface (BCI). The purpose of this review is to illustrate the recent researches in EEG processing and EEG-based BCI. First,we outline several methods in removing artifacts from EEGs,and classical algorithms for fatigue detection are discussed. Then,two BCI paradigms including motor imagery and steady-state motion visual evoked potentials (SSMVEP) produced by oscillating Newton's rings are introduced. Finally,BCI systems including wheelchair controlling and electronic car navigation are elaborated. | 10 | Stoichiometric effect on electrical and near-infrared photodetection properties of full-composition-range GaAs1−xSbx nanowires显示文摘As one of the most important narrow bandgap ternary semiconductors, GaAs1−xSbx nanowires (NWs) have attracted extensive attention recently, due to the superior hole mobility and the tunable bandgap, which covers the whole near-infrared (NIR) region, for technological applications in next-generation high-performance electronics and NIR photodetection. However, it is still a challenge to the synthesis of high-quality GaAs1−xSbx NWs across the entire range of composition, resulting in the lack of correlation investigation among stoichiometry, microstructure, electronics, and NIR photodetection. Here, we demonstrate the success growth of high-quality GaAs1−xSbx NWs with full composition range by adopting a simple and low-cost surfactant-assisted solid source chemical vapor deposition method. All of the as-prepared NWs are uniform, smooth, and straight, without any phase segregation in all stoichiometric compositions. The lattice constants of each NW composition have been well correlated with the chemical stoichiometry and confirmed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectrum. Moreover, with the increase of Sb concentration, the hole mobility of the as-fabricated field-effect-transistors and the responsivity and detectivity of the as-fabricated NIR photodetectors increase accordingly. | 18 | Reversing ferroptosis resistance by MOFs through regulation intracellular redox homeostasis显示文摘As a non-apoptotic cell death form,ferroptosis offers an alternative approach to overcome cancer chemotherapy resistance.However,accumulating evidence indicates cancer cells can develop ferroptosis resistance by evolving antioxidative defense mechanisms.To address this issue,we prepared a Buthionine-(S,R)-sulfoximine(BSO)loaded metal organic framework(MOF)of BSO-MOF-HA(BMH)with the combination effect of boosting oxidative damage and inhibiting antioxidative defense.MOF nanoparticle was constructed by the photosensitizer of[4,4,4,4-(porphine-5,10,15,20-tetrayl)tetrakis(benzoic acid)](TCPP)and the metal ion of Zr6,which was further decorated with hyaluronic acid(HA)in order to impart active targeting to CD44 receptors overexpressed cancer cells.BMH exhibited a negative charge and spherical shape with average particle size about 162.5nm.BMH was found to restore the susceptibility of 4T1 cells to ferroptosis under irradiation.This was attributed to the combination of photodynamic therapy(PDT)andγ-glutamylcysteine synthetase inhibitor of BSO,shifting the redox balance to oxidative stress.Enhanced ferroptosis also induced the release of damage associated molecular patterns(DAMPs)to maturate dendritic cells and activated T lymphocytes,leading to superior anti-tumor performance in vivo.Taken together,our findings demonstrated that boosting oxidative damage with photosensitizer serves as an effective strategy to reverse ferroptosis resistance. | Chengcheng Wang JiaoWang Xue Pan Shuang Yu Meiqi Chen Yan Gao Zilin Song Haiyang Hu Xiuli Zhao Dawei Chen Fei Han Mingxi Qiao | 2023 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2023,18,1: | 0 |
