1Pain sensation in pancreatic diseases is not uniform: The different facets of pancreatic pain显示文摘AIM: To systematically characterize specific pain patterns in the most frequent pancreatic diseases.METHODS: Pain in patients with chronic pancreatitis(n = 314), pancreatic cancer(n = 469), and other pancreatic tumors(n = 249) including mucinous(n = 20) and serous cystadenoma(n = 31), invasive(n = 37) and non-invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasia(IPMN; n = 48), low stage(n = 18) and high stage neuroendocrine neoplasia(n = 44), and ampullary cancer(n = 51) was registered and correlated with clinicopathological data. Survival times were estimated by the Kaplan-Meier method. Patients alive at the follow-up time were censored. Survival curves were compared statistically using the log-rank test.RESULTS: Forty-nine point one percent of pancreatic cancer patients revealed no pain, whereas in chronic pancreatitis only 18.3% were pain free. In contrary, moderate/severe pain was registered in 15.1% in pancreatic cancer patients that was increased in chronic pancreatitis with up to 34.2%. Serous cystadenoma was asymptomatic in most cases(58.1%), whereas 78.9% of all mucinous cystadenoma patients suffered pain. In neuroendocrine neoplasia pain was not a key clinical symptom since 64% of low stage neuroendocrine neoplasia and 59% of high stage neuroendocrine neoplasia patients were pain free. Cancer localization in the pancreatic body and patients with malignant pancreatic neoplasms were associated with more severe pain. Tumor grading and stage did not show any impact on pain. 2High-aspect 3D two-photon polymerization structuring with widened objective working range (WOW-2PP)显示文摘We developed a novel two-photon polymerization(2PP)configuration for fabrication of high-aspect three-dimensional(3D)structures,with an overall height larger than working distance of the microscope objective used for laser beam focusing into a photosensitive material.This method is based on a modified optical 2PP setup,where a microscope objective(1003 high N.A.),immersion oil and cover glass can be moved together into the photosensitive material,resulting in an effective higher and wider objective working range(WOW-2PP).The proposed technique enables the fabrication of high-aspect structures with sub-micrometer process resolution.3D structures with a height of 7 mm are demonstrated,which could hardly be built with the conventional 2PP set-up due to refractive index mismatch and laser beam disturbances.Kotaro Obata Ayman El-Tamer Lothar Koch Ulf Hinze Boris N Chichkov 2013Light(Science & Applications)2013,2,1:7

4Review of oxidative stress and antioxidative defense mechanisms in Gossypium hirsutum L.in response to extreme abiotic conditions显示文摘Oxidative stress occurs when crop plants are exposed to extreme abiotic conditions that lead to the excessive production and accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS).Those extreme abiotic conditions or stresses include drought,high temperature,heavy metals,salinity,and ultraviolet radiation,and they cause yield and quality losses in crops.ROS are highly reactive species found in nature that can attack plant organelles,metabolites,and molecules by interrupting various metabolic pathways until cell death occurs.Plants have evolved defense mechanisms for the production of antioxidants to detoxify the ROS and to protect the plant against oxidative damage.Modern researches in crop plants revealed that low levels of ROS act as a signal which induces tolerance to environmental extremes by altering the expression of defensive genes.In this review,we summarized the processes involved in ROS production in response to several types of abiotic stress in cotton plants.Furthermore,we discussed the achievements in the understanding and improving oxidative stress tolerance in cotton in recent years.Researches related to plant oxidative stresses have shown excellent potential for the development of stress-tolerant crops.QAMER Zainab CHAUDHARY Muhammad Tanees DU Xiongming HINZE Lori AZHAR Muhammad Tehsee 2021Journal of Cotton Research2021,4,2:4

7新致病基因在颅缝早闭Crouzon综合征中的初步机制研究显示文摘目的研究Rbp4(Retinol binding protein 4)、Gpc3(Glypican family of growth factor binding protein 3)、C1qtnf3(Collagenous repeat-containing sequence of 26 KDa protein)等新致病基因在颅缝早闭症中的发病机制,为疾病非手术治疗奠定理论基础。方法以Crouzon综合征Fgfr2cC342Y/+小鼠为实验模型,应用MicroCT和组织学染色,研究小鼠颅缝闭合模式;以Fgfr2cC342Y/+模型,RT-qPCR研究Rbp4、Gpc3、C1qtnf3等新致病基因的表达差异,初步探讨其在颅缝闭合过程中的调控作用;以体外培养的Fgfr2cC342Y/+小鼠颅缝细胞为模型,研究基因突变动物细胞增殖与代谢改变。结果获得Fgfr2cC342Y/+小鼠后额缝、冠状缝、人字缝、矢状缝等颅缝闭合模式,随颅骨发育、颅缝闭合,OC(Osteocalcin)、ALP(Alkalinephosphatase)表达增加,目的基因Rbp4、Gpc3、C1qtnf3表达下降,Msx2(Muscle segment homeobox gene 2)表达增加,杂合子与野生型小鼠之间均存在显著统计学差异,与前期人颅缝组织Microarray研究结果一致。Gpc1(Glypican family ofgrowth factor binding protein 1)、FliI(Flightless I)在颅缝闭合中的表达较恒定,野生型与杂合子之间未见明显统计学差异。体外培养Fgfr2cC342Y/+小鼠颅缝细胞,CellTiter96 MTS和Quant-iT Picogreen dsDNA细胞增殖与代谢分析结果显示,Fgfr2功能获得性突变可促进冠状缝细胞的增殖,从而导致成骨增加,颅缝早闭。结论 Fgfr2cC342Y/+模型新致病基因表达趋势与前期人颅缝组织Microarray研究结果一致,Rbp4、Gpc3、C1qtnf3可能在颅缝早闭中具重要调控作用。杨娴娴 Jodie T Hatfield Susan J Hinze 穆雄铮 Peter J Anderson Barry C Powell 2012组织工程与重建外科杂志2012,8,5:3

12Quality of life after curative liver resection: A single center analysis显示文摘AIM: To evaluate quality of life (QoL) after curative liver resection and identify variables associated with decreased QoL. METHODS: From October 2001 to July 2004, 323 patients underwent liver resection. At 3-36 mo after discharge, 188 patients were disease free. QoL was assessed using the Short Form (SF)-12 Health Survey with mental and physical component scales (SF-12 MCS and PCS), supplemented with generic questions concerning pain and liver-specific items. RESULTS: Sixty-eight percent (128/188) returned the questionnaire, which was completed in 75% (96/128) of cases. Median SF-12 PCS and MCS were 46.7 (inter- quartile range: 34.2-53.9) and 54.1 (42.8-58.2). Fifty percent were pain free with a median symptom score of 1.75 (1.38-2.13). PCS was higher after major hepatec-tomy [57% (55/96)] compared to minor resection (P = 0.0049), which represented an improved QoL. QoL was not affected by sex but by age compared to the general German population. MCS was higher after liver surgery for metastatic disease [55.9 (47.5-58.8)] compared to primary carcinoma [49.6 (36.5-55.1)] and benign disease [49.2 (37.7-56.3)] (P = 0.0317). There was no correlation between length of postoperative period and QoL. Pain, def iciencies in everyday life and a high symptom score significantly decreased MCS and PCS. 18Microbiological screenings for infection control in unaccompanied minor refugees: the German Armed Forces Medical Service's experience显示文摘Background:The German Military Medical Service contributed to the medical screening of unaccompanied minor refugees(UMRs)coming to Germany in 2014 and 2015.In this study,a broad range of diagnostic procedures was applied to identify microorganisms with clinical or public health significance.Previously,those tests had only been used to screen soldiers returning from tropical deployments.This instance is the first time the approach has been studied in a humanitarian context.Methods:The offered screenings included blood cell counts,hepatitis B serology and microscopy of the stool to look for protozoa and worm eggs as well as PCR from stool samples targeting pathogenic bacteria,protozoa and helminths.If individuals refused certain assessments,their decision to do so was accepted.A total of 219 apparently healthy male UMRs coming from Afghanistan,Egypt,Somalia,Eritrea,Syria,Ghana,Guinea,Iran,Algeria,Iraq,Benin,Gambia,Libya,Morocco,Pakistan,and Palestine were assessed.All UMRs who were examined at the study department were included in the assessment.Results:We detected decreasing frequencies of pathogens that included diarrhoea-associated bacteria[Campylobacter(C.)jejuni,enteropathogenic Escherichia(E.)coli(EPEC),enterotoxic E.coli(ETEC),enteroaggregative E.coli(EAEC),enteroinvasive E.coli(EIEC)/Shigella spp.),Giardia(G.)duodenalis,helminths(comprising Schistosoma spp.,Hymenolepis(H.)nana,Strongyloides(S.)stercoralis]as well as hepatitis B virus.Pathogenic microorganisms dominated the samples by far.While G.duodenalis was detected in 11.4%of the assessed UMRs,the incidence of newly identified cases in the German population was 4.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.Conclusion:We conclude that the applied in-house PCR screening systems,which have proven to be useful for screening military returnees from tropical deployments,can also be used for health assessment of immigrants from the respective sites.Apparently healthy UMRs may be enterically colonized with a broad variety of pathogenic and apathogenic microorganisms.Increased colonization rates,as shown for G.duodenalis,can pose a hygiene problem in centralized homes for asylum seekers.Winfried Maaβen Dorothea Wiemer Claudia Frey Christina Kreuzberg Egbert Tannich Rebecca Hinz Andreas Wille Andreas Fritsch Ralf Matthias Hagen Hagen Frickmann 2018Military Medical Research2018,5,1:2
