2Involvement of cholangiocyte proliferation in biliary fibrosis显示文摘Cholangiocytes are the epithelial cells that line the biliary tree.In the adult liver,they are a mitotically dormant cell population,unless ductular reaction is triggered by injury.The ability of cholangiocytes to proliferate is important in many different human pathological liver conditions that target this cell type,which are termed cholangiopathies(i.e.primary biliary cirrhosis,primary sclerosing cholangitis and biliary atresia).In our article,we provide background information on the morphological and functional heterogeneity of cholangiocytes,summarize what is currently known about their proliferative processes,and briefly describe the diseases that target these cells.In addition,we address recent findings that suggest cholangiocyte involvement in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transformation and liver fibrosis,and propose directions for future studies.Sally Priester Candace Wise Shannon S Glaser 2010World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pathophysiology2010,1,2:10
3Long-term results of endoscopic balloon dilatation of lower gastrointestinal tract strictures in Crohn's disease:A prospective study显示文摘AIM:To examine the long-term results of endoscopic treatment in a prospective study conducted over a period of 10 years,1997 to January 2007.METHODS:A total of 25 patients(20 female and five male:aged 18-75 years),with at least one symptom of stricture not passable with the standard colonoscope and with a confirmed scarred Crohn's stricture of the lower gastrointestinal tract,were included in the study.The main symptom was abdominal pain.The endoscopic balloon dilatation was performed with an 18 mm balloon under endoscopic and radiological control.RESULTS:Eleven strictures were located in the colon,13 at the anastomosis after ileocecal resection,three at the Bauhin valve and four in the ileum.Four patients had two strictures and one patient had three strictures.Of the 31 strictures,in 30 was balloon dilatation successful in a single endoscopic session,so that eventually the strictures could be passed easily with the standard colonoscope.In one patient with a long stricture of the ileum involving the Bauhin valve and an additional stricture of the ileum which were 15 cm apart,sufficient dilatation was not possible.This patient therefore required surgery.Improvement of abdominal symptoms was achieved in all cases which had technically successful balloon dilatation,althoughin one case perforation occurred after dilatation of a recurrent stricture.Available follow-up was in the range of 54-118 mo(mean of 81 mo).The relapse rate over this period was 46%,but 64% of relapsing strictures could be successfully dilated again.Only in four patients was surgery required during this follow-up period.CONCLUSION:We conclude from these initial results that endoscopic balloon dilatation,especially for short strictures in Crohn's disease,can be performed with reliable success.Perforation is a rare complication.It is our opinion that in the long-term,the relapse rate is probably higher than after surgery,but usually a second endoscopic treatment can be performed successfully,leading to a considerable success rate of the endoscopic procedure.Klaus Stienecker Daniel Gleichmann Ulrike Neumayer H Joachim Glaser Carolin Tonus 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,21:9

8Mechanisms of biliary carcinogenesis and growth显示文摘Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare cancer originating from the neoplastic transformation of the epithelial cells (i.e. cholangiocytes) that line the biliary tract. The prognosis for patients with cholangiocarcinoma is grim due to lack of viable treatment options. The increase in world-wide incidence and mortality from cholangiocarcinoma highlights the importance of understanding the intracellular mechanisms that trigger the neoplastic transformation of cholangiocytes and the growth of biliary cancers. The purpose of the following review is to address what has been learned over the past decade concerning the molecular basis of cholangiocarcinogenesis. The material presented is divided into two sections:(1) mechanisms regulating neoplastic transformation of cholangiocytes; and (2) factors regulating cholangiocarcinoma growth. 13Synergistic effect of cobalt and niobium in Co_(3)-Nb-O_(x)on performance of selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH_(3)显示文摘Combining the redox properties of Co and the acid properties of Nb in a Co_(3)-Nb-O_(x)catalyst is shown to provide superior performance in the selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).Co_(3)O_(4)shows average activity,however,it exhibits a poor N_(2)selectivity.Nb_(2)O_(5)is not active for NH_(3)-SCR.However,the mixed Co_(3)-Nb-O_(x) catalyst shows higher NO conversion and N_(2)selectivity than the single Co_(3)O_(4)and Nb_(2)O_(5)catalysts at 100–300℃.The results of temperature programmed reduction by H_(2)and X-ray photoelectron(XP)spectra indicate that the addition of Nb changes the chemical states of Co and decreases the concentration of Co^(3+) and Oa,adjusting the activity for catalytic oxidation to a moderate level.This suppresses the formation of undesired N_(2)O from the over-oxidation of NH_(3).Incorporation of Co and Nb into one solid synergistically couples their redox behavior and surface acidity,ensuring the high catalytic activity and N2 selectivity in NH3-SCR.Bo-Lin Zhang Li-Feng Deng Bo Liu Chun-Yun Luo Michael Liebau Shen-Gen Zhang Roger Glaser 2022Rare Metals2022,41,1:2

17Biochar and sugar cane filter cake interaction on physical and hydrological soil properties under tropical field conditions显示文摘Biochar is known for its effects on carbon sequestration and soil fertility.However,there is a lack of information about its effects on soil physical and hydraulic properties for tropical soils.We assessed the effects of biochar(BC)plus sugar cane filter cake(FC)rate,and time of interaction on soil physical and hydraulic properties under humid tropical conditions.For this purpose,a field experiment was installed at a loamy sandy soil with five treatments and four replicates:control(only soil),25 Mg ha^(−1) sugar cane filter cake,and 25 Mg ha^(−1) sugar cane filter cake plus 6.25,12.5,and 25 Mg ha^(−1) Miscanthus biochar,respectively,two soil depths(0-10 and 10-20 cm)and two times of interaction(9 and 18 months).Physical prop-erties(aggregate stability,bulk density,total porosity,pores size distribution)and hydraulic properties(soil water holding capacity,hydraulic conductivity,plant-available water holding capacity)were measured after nine and eighteen months.The bulk density decreased slightly,and the porosity increased after nine months,for the biochar plus sugar cane filter cake(both 25 Mg ha^(−1)).After 18 months,biochar plus filter cake interaction increase micropores,aggregate stability,and plant-available water content.Saturated hydraulic conductivity was not influenced by sugar cane filter cake.However,biochar significantly reduced saturated hydraulic conductivity when combined with sugar cane filter cake after 18 months.We concluded that sugar cane filter cake in combination with biochar modified the pore size distribution,slightly increased plant-available water holding capacity,and significantly decreased saturated hydraulic conductivity.Sara de Jesus Duarte Bruno Glaser Blanca Lucia Prado Pano Carlos Eduardo Pellegrino Cerri 2020Biochar2020,2,2:2
