| 4 | Electricity Services Based Dependability Model of Power Grid Communication Networking显示文摘The technology of Ultra-High Voltage(UHV) transmission requires higher dependability for electric power grid. Power Grid Communication Networking(PGCN),the fundamental information infrastructure,severs data transmission including control signal,protection signal,and common data services. Dependability is the necessary requirement to ensure services timely and accurately. Dependability analysis aims to predicate operation status and provide suitable strategies getting rid of the potential dangers. Due to the dependability of PGCN may be affected by external environment,devices quality,implementation strategies,and so on,the scale explosion and the structure complexity make the PGCN's dependability much challenging. In this paper,with the observation of interdependency between power grid and PGCN,we propose an electricity services based dependability analysis model of PGCN. The model includes methods of analyzing its dependability and procedures of designing the dependable strategies. | 5 | Effects of fruit thinning on ascorbate–glutathione cycle metabolism in black currants(Ribes nigrum L.)显示文摘To elucidate mechanisms regulating ascorbic acid(AsA) biosynthesis and accumulation in the fruit and leaves of black currants,As A and the activities of key enzymes in the ascorbate–glutathione(As A–GSH) cycle were measured from fruit set to fruit ripening during fruit thinning treatments of three common commercial black currant cultivars that differed in their As A levels:'Risager'(low),'Brodtrop'(medium) and 'Adelinia'(high).Treatments were 50% fruit reduction(50% of total fruit set) by hand,control was no thinning.Fruit thinning treatment significantly increased As A content in fruit of all three cultivars from weeks 2 to 8,significantly decreased As A content in leaves from weeks 3 to 8.Dehydroascorbate reductase and monodehydroascorbate reductase activities in fruit and leaves had a similar pattern,increasing during week 2,rose until they peaked in week 4.Ascorbate peroxidase activity in fruit in the thinning treatment was slightly lower than in the control.Fruit thinning was shown to be a good model to test As A biosynthesis regulation and accumulation in black currants.The results from our study provided strong evidence that As A–GSH cycle involved in As A synthesis and accumulation in fruit. | Dong Qin Lijuan Zhao Yu Gary Gao Fangxiao Li Shulei Li Junwei Huo Shuang Lou Peng Liu | 2017 | Journal of Forestry Research2017,28,5: | 3 |

| 8 | Class attention network for image recognition显示文摘Visual attention has become a popular and widely used component for image recognition.Although various attention-based methods have been proposed and achieved relatively competitive results,it is observed that the semantic features of each class are likely to entangle with each other,and few studies focus on explicitly extracting category-aware features so far.To address this issue,this paper presents an attention-based image recognition method by using class-specific dictionary learning to disentangle the neural network’s outputs into class-dependent features,thus boosting their discrimination abilities.Specifically,we develop a class attention network(CANet)via integrating a simple yet effective class-specific attention encoding(CAE)module on the top of convolutional layers.Given the feature maps of the convolutional neural networks(CNNs),the CAE module learns a class-specific dictionary,which is leveraged to encode attention maps for each category.Then these attention maps are multiplied by the input features for classwise adaptive feature refinement.Extensive experiments on the PASCAL VOC 2007,PASCAL VOC 2012,MS COCO,and CUB-200-2011 datasets demonstrate the fabulous performance of our method on multiple visual recognition tasks,including multi-label image classification and fine-grained visual classification.In addition,the visualization results testify that CNNs can explicitly learn class-wise feature representations by introducing class-specific dictionary learning. | Gong CHENG Pujian LAI Decheng GAO Junwei HAN | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,3: | 2 |

Herein, we wish to report a coumarin-thiazolidine masked D-penicillamine based dual-modality fluorescent probe COU-DPA-1 for selective detection, differentiation, and detoxification of multiple heavy metal ions(Ag^(+), Hg^(2+), Cu^(2+)). The probe shows divergent fluorescence(FL)/circular dichroism(CD) responses via divergent bond-cleavage cascade reactions(metal ion promoted C-S cleavage and hydrolysis at two distinctive cleavage sites): FL “turn-off” and CD “turn-on” for Ag+(no hydrolysis), FL “turn-on” and CD “turn-off” for Hg^(+)(imine hydrolysis), and FL “self-threshold ratiometric” and CD “turn-off” for excess Cu^(2+)(lactone and imine hydrolysis), providing the first example of a fluorescence/CD dual-modality probe for multiple species with complimentary responses. | 10 | Effects of GA3 and ABA on the respiratory pathways during the secondary bud burst in black currants显示文摘The effects of exogenous gibberellic acid(GA_3)and abscisic acid(ABA) on the total respiratory rate, percentages of total respiratory rate contributed by respiratory pathways [Embden-Meyerhof-Parnas Pathway(EMP),Pentose Phosphate Pathway(PPP), and Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle(TCA)], and conversion of starch to soluble sugars in the buds of black currants during secondary bud burst were investigated to determine the relationship between respiratory rates and secondary bud burst. ‘Adelinia', a black currant cultivar that is prone to secondary bud burst after the first harvest, was used in this study. Mature bushes of Adelinia were sprayed with 30 mg/L GA_3 and 50 mg/L ABA to manipulate bud burst. The results showed that exogenous applications of GA_3 and ABA had opposite effects on bud respiratory rate. Generally, GA_3 treatment increased the total respiratory rate and respiratory rate of the TCA and PPP, and the respiratory rates after GA_3 treatment were higher than those of control. While ABA treatment mostly decreased the total respiratory rate and the respiratory rate of TCA and PPP in buds in comparison to control. In terms of the percentage of the three respiratory rates in comparison to the total respiratory rate, GA_3 treatment significantly increased the percentage of TCA and PPP respiratory rate in comparison to the control(P \ 0.01), whereas ABA decreased the rates. GA_3 significantly increased the content of soluble sugars and decreased the starch content, while the starch content in buds after ABA treatment was significantly higher than that of the control. All results showed that PPP is a critical process for the second bud burst in black currants. While the EMP–TCA pathway is still dominant in bud respiration,provides a series of basic materials and energy(ATP). The conversion of starch to soluble sugars is essential for bud burst. | 11 | Nitrogen and Phosphorus Budget of a Polyculture System of Sea Cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus), Jellyfish(Rhopilema esculenta) and Shrimp(Fenneropenaeus chinensis)显示文摘The nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) budget and the ecological efficiency of a polyculture system of sea cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus), jellyfish(Rhopilema esculenta) and shrimp(Fenneropenaeus chinensis) were studied in a cofferdam, 120.2 ha in size. The nutrients were supplied by spring tide inflow. In total, 139600 kg N yr-1 and 9730 kg P yr-1 input to the system; while 118900 kg N yr-1 and 2840 kg P yr-1 outflowed from the system concurrently, thus the outflow was 85.7%(N) and 29.2%(P) of inflow. The production of N and P was 889.5 kg yr-1 and 49.28 kg yr-1(sea cucumber) and 204 kg yr-1 and 18.03 kg yr-1(jellyfish and shrimp), respectively. The utilization rate of N and P by polycultured animals was 7.8‰ and 6.9‰, respectively, 21.9% and 38% higher than that of monocultured sea cucumber. Our results indicated that the polyculture system was an efficient culture system of animals and a remediation system of coastal environment as well; it scavenged 14.3% and 70.8% of N and P, respectively. | 13 | 1-Pbps orbital angular momentum fibre-optic transmission显示文摘Space-division multiplexing(SDM),as a main candidate for future ultra-high capacity fibre-optic communications,needs to address limitations to its scalability imposed by computation-intensive multi-input multi-output(MIMO)digital signal processing(DSP)required to eliminate the crosstalk caused by optical coupling between multiplexed spatial channels.By exploiting the unique propagation characteristics of orbital angular momentum(OAM)modes in ring core fibres(RCFs),a system that combines SDM and C+L band dense wavelength-division multiplexing(DWDM)in a 34 km 7-core RCF is demonstrated to transport a total of 24960 channels with a raw(net)capacity of 1.223(1.02)Peta-bit s−1(Pbps)and a spectral efficiency of 156.8(130.7)bit s−1 Hz−1.Remarkably for such a high channel count,the system only uses fixed-size 4×4 MIMO DSP modules with no more than 25 time-domain taps.Such ultra-low MIMO complexity is enabled by the simultaneous weak coupling among fibre cores and amongst non-degenerate OAM mode groups within each core that have a fixed number of 4 modes.These results take the capacity of OAM-based fibre-optic communications links over the 1 Pbps milestone for the first time.They also simultaneously represent the lowest MIMO complexity and the 2nd smallest fibre cladding diameter amongst reported few-mode multicore-fibre(FM-MCF)SDM systems of>1 Pbps capacity.We believe these results represent a major step forward in SDM transmission,as they manifest the significant potentials for further up-scaling the capacity per optical fibre whilst keeping MIMO processing to an ultra-low complexity level and in a modularly expandable fashion. | Junyi Liu Jingxing Zhang Jie Liu Zhenrui Lin Zhenhua Li Zhongzheng Lin Junwei Zhang Cong Huang Shuqi Mo Lei Shen Shuqing Lin Yujie Chen Ran Gao Lei Zhang Xiaobo Lan Xinlun Cai Zhaohui Li Siyuan Yu | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8: | 1 |

| 17 | Functional diversity dominates positive species mixture effects on ecosystem multifunctionality in subtropical plantations显示文摘Mixed-species plantations generally exhibit higher ecosystem multifunctionality than monospecific plantations.However,it is unclear how tree species functional composition influences species mixture effects on ecosystem multifunctionality.We selected 171 monospecific and mixed-species plantations from nine regions across subtropical China,and quantified 13 key ecosystem functional properties to investigate how species mixture effects on ecosystem multifunctionality are modulated by functional diversity and identity.We found that ecosystem multifunctionality was significantly higher(p<0.05)in mixed tree plantations than in monospecific plantations except the mixed-conifer species plantations.Across all regions,ecosystem multifunctionality was significantly higher(p<0.05)in mixed conifer-broadleaf plantations than in monospecific plantations of the corresponding species,but not different between mixed and monospecific coniferous plantations.The magnitude of species mixture effects on ecosystem multifunctionality varied greatly with tree species compositions.Taking Cunninghamia lanceolata Lamb.as an example,the effects varied from a range of 2.0%–9.6%when mixed with a conifer species to 36%–87%when mixed with a broadleaf species.The functional diversity was the dominate driver shaping ecosystem multifunctionality,while functional identity,as expressed by community-weighted mean of specific leaf area,also had a positive effect on ecosystem multifunctionality through the increased below-ground nitrogen and phosphorus stocks regulated by specific leaf area of the mixing tree species.Our study highlights the important role of functional diversity in shaping ecosystem multifunctionality across region-wide environmental conditions.Mixed conifer-broadleaf tree plantations with distinct functional traits benefit the enhancement of ecosystem multifunctionality,and the magnitude of species mixture effects is modulated by the functional identity of tree species composition;those relationships deserve a special consideration in multifunctional management context of subtropical plantations. | Xi Li Hui Wang Junwei Luan Scott X.Chang Bing Gao Yi Wang Shirong Liu | 2022 | Forest Ecosystems2022,9,3: | 1 |
