1Structure and deformation around the Gyirong basin, north Himalaya, and onset of the south Tibetan detachment system显示文摘Gyirong basin and its adjacent area are located at a special position in the Himalayan orogen, where the south Tibetan detachment system (STDS) and N-S trending rift converged. The north Himalayan orogen here can be divided into five petrologic-tectonic units successively from south to north: 1) the Greater Himalayan crystalline complex (GHC); 2) the STDS shear zone; 3) the Tethyan Himalayan sedimentary sequence (THS); 4) the late Cenozoic sedimentary basins, such as Gyirong and Oma basins; and 5) the Malashan gneiss dome. Structural studies show that this area experienced four stages of deformation: 1) the earlier south-directed thrusting, preserved both in the GHC and THS; 2) top-down-to-north slip along the STDS, normal faults related to this slip formed the early controlling structures of the Cenozoic basins,and the tilted pattern of the blocks between the basins indicated a north-directed slip; 3) east-west extension, the resultant N-S trending normal fault formed the eastern boundary of the basins; and 4) late gravitational collapse. 2Position and complications of pedicle screw insertion with or without image-navigation techniques in the thoracolumbar spine:a meta-analysis of comparative studies显示文摘Computer-navigated pedicle screw insertion is applied to the thoracic and lumbar spine to attain high insertion accuracy and a low rate of screw-related complications.However,some in vivo and in vitro studies have shown that no advantages are gained with the use of navigation techniques compared to conventional techniques.Additionally,inconsistent conclusions have been drawn in various studies due to different population characteristics and methods used to assess the accuracy of screw placement.Moreover,it is not clear whether pedicle screw insertion with navigation techniques decreases the incidence of screw-related complications.Therefore,this study was sought to perform a meta-analysis of all available prospective evidence regarding pedicle screw insertion with or without navigation techniques in human thoracic and lumbar spine.We considered in vivo comparative studies that assessed the results of pedicle screw placement with or without navigation techniques.PubMed,Ovid MEDLINE and EMBASE databases were searched.Three published randomized controlled trials(RCTs) and nine retrospective comparative studies met the inclusion criteria.These studies included a total of 732 patients in whom 4,953 screws were inserted.In conclusion,accuracy of the position of grade I,II,III and IV screws and complication rate related to pedicle screw placement were significantly increased when navigation techniques were used in comparison to conventional techniques.Future research in this area should include RCTs with well-planned methodology to limit bias and report on validated,patient-based outcome measures.Jinshan Tang Ziqiang Zhu Tao Sui Dechao Kong Xiaojian Cao 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,3:15
3Adaptive sliding-mode path following control system of the underactuated USV under the influence of ocean currents显示文摘The path-following control of the asymmetry underactuated unmanned surface vehicle(USV) under external disturbances such as unknown constant and irrational ocean currents is discussed, and an adaptive sliding-mode path-following control system is proposed, which comprises a path-variable updated law,a modified integral line-of-sight(ILOS) guidance law based on a time-varying lookahead distance and adaptive feedback linearizing controllers combined with sliding-mode technique. A more accurate USV model without the assumption of having diagonal inertia and damping matrices is first presented, aiming at improving the performance of the path-following control. Next, the coordinate transformation is adopted to decouple the sway dynamic from the rudder angle, and the path-following errors dynamics without non-singular problem are presented in the moving Frenet-Serret frame. Then, based on the cascaded theorem and the adaptive sliding-mode method, the adaptive control law of position errors and course error are designed, among which the lookahead distance and integral gain are all computed as different functions of cross-track error to estimate and compensate the sideslip angle caused by external disturbances adaptively. Finally, according to the Lyapunov and cascaded theorem, the control system proposed is proved to be uniform globally asymptotic stability(UGAS) and uniform semiglobal exponential stability(USGES) when the control objectives are all achieved. 5Systematic study of human long intergenic non-coding RNAs and their impact on cancer显示文摘The functional impact of several long intergenic non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs) has been characterized in previous studies. However, it is difficult to identify lincRNAs on a large-scale and to ascertain their functions or predict their structures in laboratory experiments because of the diversity, lack of knowledge and specificity of expression of lincRNAs. Furthermore, although there are a few well-characterized examples of lincRNAs associated with cancers, these are just the tip of the iceberg owing to the complexity of cancer. Here, by combining RNA-Seq data from several kinds of human cell lines with chromatin-state maps and human expressed sequence tags, we successfully identified more than 3000 human lincRNAs, most of which were new ones. Subsequently, we predicted the functions of 105 lincRNAs based on a coding-non-coding gene co-expression network. Finally, we propose a genetic mediator and key regulator model to unveil the subtle relationships between lincRNAs and lung cancer. Twelve lincRNAs may be principal players in lung tumorigenesis. 6One ion to catch them all: Targeted high-precision Boltzmann thermometry over a wide temperature range with Gd^(3+)显示文摘Ratiometric luminescence thermometry with trivalent lanthanide ions and their 4f^(n) energy levels is an emerging technique for non-invasive remote temperature sensing with high spatial and temporal resolution.Conventional ratiometric luminescence thermometry often relies on thermal coupling between two closely lying energy levels governed by Boltzmann’s law.Despite its simplicity,Boltzmann thermometry with two excited levels allows precise temperature sensing,but only within a limited temperature range.While low temperatures slow down the nonradiative transitions required to generate a measurable population in the higher excitation level,temperatures that are too high favour equalized populations of the two excited levels,at the expense of low relative thermal sensitivity.In this work,we extend the concept of Boltzmann thermometry to more than two excited levels and provide quantitative guidelines that link the choice of energy gaps between multiple excited states to the performance in different temperature windows.By this approach,it is possible to retain the high relative sensitivity and precision of the temperature measurement over a wide temperature range within the same system.We demonstrate this concept using YAl_(3)(BO_(3))_(4)(YAB):Pr^(3+),Gd^(3+)with an excited 6 PJ crystal field and spin-orbit split levels of Gd^(3+)in the UV range to avoid a thermal black body background even at the highest temperatures.This phosphor is easily excitable with inexpensive and powerful blue LEDs at 450 nm.Zero-background luminescence thermometry is realized by using blue-to-UV energy transfer upconversion with the Pr^(3+)−Gd^(3+)couple upon excitation in the visible range.This method allows us to cover a temperature window between 30 and 800 K.Dechao Yu Huaiyong Li Dawei Zhang Qinyuan Zhang Andries Meijerink Markus Suta 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,12:4
7Surface Flood and Underground Flood in Xiangxi River Karst Basin: Characteristics, Models, and Comparisons显示文摘Xiangxi River Basin, located in western Hubei Province in central China, is a karst ridge-trough area with an inhomogeneous and complicated distribution of water resources. This paper compares the characteristics of surface and subsurface floods in this karst basin, utilizing a one-parameter Darcian model and the traditional exponential model. The observed hydrographs and inferred water components are strikingly similar for surface and subsurface floods. The Darcian model and the exponential model are based on different views of the flood generation process, with the former fitting the entire hydrograph with a single time constant, and the latter fitting only the recession limb with multiple time constants. 9Evolutionary annotation of conserved long non-coding RNAs in major mammalian species显示文摘Mammalian genomes contain tens of thousands of long non-coding RNAs(lnc RNAs) that have been implicated in diverse biological processes. However, the lnc RNA transcriptomes of most mammalian species have not been established, limiting the evolutionary annotation of these novel transcripts. Based on RNA sequencing data from six tissues of nine species, we built comprehensive lnc RNA catalogs(4,142–42,558 lnc RNAs) covering the major mammalian species. Compared to protein-coding RNAs, expression of lnc RNAs exhibits striking lineage specificity. Notably, although 30%–99% human lnc RNAs are conserved across different species on DNA locus level, only 20%–27% of these conserved lnc RNA loci are detected to transcription, which represents a stark contrast to the proportion of conserved protein-coding genes(48%–80%). This finding provides a valuable resource for experimental scientists to study the mechanisms of lnc RNAs. Moreover, we constructed lnc RNA expression phylogenetic trees across nine mammals and demonstrated that lnc RNA expression profiles can reliably determine phylogenic placement in a manner similar to their coding counterparts. Our data also reveal that the evolutionary rate of lnc RNA expression varies among tissues and is significantly higher than those for protein-coding genes. To streamline the processes of browsing lnc RNAs and detecting their evolutionary statuses, we integrate all the data produced in this study into a database named Phylo NONCODE(http://gffzz4d3d7636fb124c4fh0w65kp9wpv0f6qoq.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/phylo Noncode). 11A novel cancer vaccine with the ability to simultaneously produce anti-PD-1 antibody and GM-CSF in cancer cells and enhance Th1-biased antitumor immunity显示文摘Tumor escape from immune-mediated destruction has been associated with immunosuppressive mechanisms that inhibit T-cell activation.A promising strategy for cancer immunotherapy is to disrupt key pathways regulating immune tolerance,such as program death-1(PD-1/PD-L1)pathway in the tumor environment.However,the determinants of response to anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)treatment remain incompletely understood.In murine models,PD-1 blockade alone fails to induce effective immune responses to poorly immunogenic tumors,but is successful when combined with additional interventions,such as cancer vaccines.Novel cancer vaccines combined with antibody may offer promising control of cancer development and progression.In this investigation,we generated a novel tumor cell vaccine simultaneously expressing anti-PD-1 mAbs and granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor(GM-CSF)in CT26 colon cancer and B16-F10 melanoma.The antitumor effect of the vaccine was verified by therapeutic and adoptive animal experiments in vivo.The antitumor mechanism was analyzed using Flow cytometry,Elispot and in vivo intervention approaches.The results showed that tumor cell vaccine secreting PD-1 neutralizing antibodies and GM-CSF induced remarkable antitumor immune effects and prolonged the survival of tumor-bearing animals compared with animals treated with either PD-1 mAbs or GM-CSF alone.Antitumor effects and prolonged survival correlated with strong antigen-specific T-cell responses by analyzing CD11c^(+)CD86^(+)DC,CD11b^(+)F4/80^(+)MΦcells,increased ratio of Teff/Treg in the tumor microenvironment,and higher secretion levels of Th1 proinflammatory cytokines in serum.Furthermore,the results of ELISPOT and in vivo blocking strategies further confirmed that the antitumor immune response is acquired by CD4 and CD8 T immune responses,primarily dependent on CD4 Th1 immune response,not NK innate immune response.The combination of PD-1 blockade with GM-CSF secretion potency creates a novel tumor cell vaccine immunotherapy,affording significantly improved antitumor responses by releasing the state of immunosuppressive microenvironment and augmenting the tumor-reactive T-cell responses.Hongwei Tian Gang Shi Qin Wang Yiming Li Qianmei Yang Chunlei Li Guoyou Yang Min Wu Qian Xie Shuang Zhang Yang Yang Rong Xiang Dechao Yu Yuquan Wei Hongxin Deng 2016Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2016,1,1:3

13MINERALOGICAL FEATURES OF ULTRAMAFIC HYPOXENOLITHS IN ALKALI-RICH PORPHYRY显示文摘Ultramafic hypoxenoliths found in the alkali-rich porphyry in the Liuhe Village, Heqing, Yunnan,China, are of great significance in understanding the origin and evolution of the porphyry. This paper discusses the mineralogical features of the hypoxenoliths. It shows that the xenoliths are characterized by the upper mantle rocks modified to certain extent by the enriched mantle fluid metasomatism in the mantle environment, with the enriched mantle property of Iow-degree partial melting. 14Tacrolimus reduces scar formation and promotes sciatic nerve regeneration显示文摘A sciatic nerve transection and repair model was established in Sprague-Dawley rats by transecting the tendon of obturator internus muscle in the greater sciatic foramen and suturing with nylon sutures. The models were treated with tacrolimus gavage (4 mg/kg per day) for 0, 2, 4 and 6 weeks. Specimens were harvested at 6 weeks of intragastric administration. Masson staining revealed that the collagen fiber content and scar area in the nerve anastomosis of the sciatic nerve injury rats were significantly reduced after tacrolimus administration. Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that tacrolimus significantly increased myelinated nerve fiber density, average axon diameter and myelin sheath thickness. Intragastric administration of tacrolimus also led to a significant increase in the recovery rate of gastrocnemius muscle wet weight and the sciatic functional index after sciatic nerve injury. The above indices were most significantly improved at 6 weeks after of tacrolimus gavage. The myelinated nerve fiber density in the nerve anastomosis and the sciatic nerve functions had a significant negative correlation with the scar area, as detected by Spearman's rank correlation analysis. 15Optimization of supercritical fluid extraction of daidzein from soybean after extrusion显示文摘A set of optimal conditions for supercritical fluid extraction(SFE)of daidzein in soybean previously subjected to extrusion at the rotate speed of screw 4.5×g and the temperature of 80℃was developed.The quadratic orthogonal rotation design with five factors(extracting temperature,extracting time,ethanlol content,cosolvent quantity and flow rate)was used and a mathematical model was developed based the experimental results.Optimal conditions were verified and compared with control experiments conducted in parallel.The results from SFE showed that all five experiment factors had significant effects on the yield of daidzein.The mathematical model agreed well with the experimental results.It was found that there were 27 optimal extract conditions under which daidzein yield was higher than 0.092%.The optimal extracting conditions were stable and reproducible.Results from the control experiments showed that extrusion could significantly enhance the extraction of daidzein.The extraction of daidzein from extruded soybean and its products with supercritical CO_(2) is a potential technique for practical applications in the future.Zhou Quancheng Li Lei Shen Dechao 2009International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2009,2,2:2
16Attitude control system design and on-orbit performance analysis of nano-satellite––‘‘Tian Tuo 1’’显示文摘‘‘Tian Tuo 1''(TT-1) nano-satellite is the first single-board nano-satellite that was successfully launched in China. The main objective of TT-1 is technology demonstration and scientific measurements. The satellite carries out the significant exploration of single-board architecture feasibility validation, and it is tailored to the low-cost philosophy by adopting numerous commercialoff-the-shelf(COTS) components. The satellite is featured with three-axis stabilization control capability. A pitch bias momentum wheel and three magnetic coils are adopted as control actuators.The sun sensors, magnetometers and a three-axis gyro are employed as the measurement sensors.The quaternion estimator(QUEST) and unscented Kalman filter(UKF) method are adopted for the nano-satellite attitude determination. On-orbit data received by ground station is conducted to analysis the performance of attitude determination and control system(ADCS). 17Understanding and tuning blue-to-near-infrared photon cutting by the Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+) couple显示文摘Lanthanide-based photon-cutting phosphors absorb high-energy photons and‘cut’them into multiple smaller excitation quanta.These quanta are subsequently emitted,resulting in photon-conversion efficiencies exceeding unity.The photon-cutting process relies on energy transfer between optically active lanthanide ions doped in the phosphor.However,it is not always easy to determine,let alone predict,which energy-transfer mechanisms are operative in a particular phosphor.This makes the identification and design of new promising photon-cutting phosphors difficult.Here we unravel the possibility of using the Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+) lanthanide couple for photon cutting.We compare the performance of this couple in four different host materials.Cooperative energy transfer from Tm^(3+)to Yb^(3+) would enable blue-to-near-infrared conversion with 200% efficiency.However,we identify phonon-assisted cross-relaxation as the dominant Tm^(3+)-to-Yb^(3+) energy-transfer mechanism in YBO_(3),YAG,and Y_(2)O_(3).In NaYF_(4),in contrast,the low maximum phonon energy renders phonon-assisted cross-relaxation impossible,making the desired cooperative mechanism the dominant energy-transfer pathway.Our work demonstrates that previous claims of high photon-cutting efficiencies obtained with the Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+) couple must be interpreted with care.Nevertheless,the Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+) couple is potentially promising,but the host material-more specifically,its maximum phonon energy-has a critical effect on the energy-transfer mechanisms and thereby on the photon-cutting performance.Dechao Yu Ting Yu Arnoldus Jvan Bunningen Qinyuan Zhang Andries Meijerink Freddy T.Rabouw 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:2
