| 9 | High Temperature Oxidation of a Work Roll Grade High-Chromium White Cast Iron显示文摘High-chromium white cast iron is a common material for the manufacture of the work rolls used in the finishing stands in hot strip mills.The high temperature oxidation behaviour of as-cast and heat-treated high-chromium white cast iron was studied by gravimetric means at 650℃ in atmospheres that included dry air and a mixture of dry air and water vapour.For both environmental and material conditions,the oxidation rate of the alloys was represented by parabolic trends and the oxidation phenomenon was more obvious when the samples were oxidised in water vapour.Water vapour also influenced the chemical composition of the oxides formed in the alloy and under this condition,the oxide scale formed on the alloy contained the oxides FeCr2O4,(Fe,Cr)3O4 and (Fe,Cr)2O3.In contrast,the alloys exposed to dry air conditions only experienced the formation of FeCr2O4 and (Fe,Cr)2O3.It was found that the presence of water vapour and the chromium content of the alloys increased the oxidation rate by a mechanism that involved chromium depletion of the oxide as a result of hydroxide formation.The differences observed in the oxidation behaviour of the alloy are discussed in terms of the composition of the oxidant atmosphere and the metallurgical condition of the specimens. | J H Ramírez-Ramírez R Colás N F Garza-Montes-de-Oca | 2013 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2013,20,10: | 0 |
| 10 | Classification of anemia for gastroenterologists显示文摘Most anemia is related to the digestive system by dietary deficiency, malabsorption, or chronic bleeding. We review the World Health Organization definition of anemia, its morphological classifi cation (microcytic, macrocytic and normocytic) and pathogenic classi-fication (regenerative and hypo regenerative), and integration of these classifications. Interpretation of laboratory tests is included, from the simplest (blood count, routine biochemistry) to the more specific (iron metabolism, vitamin B12, folic acid, reticulocytes, erythropoietin, bone marrow examination and Schilling test). In the text and various algorithms, we propose a hierarchical and logical way to reach a diagnosis as quickly as possible, by properly managing the medical interview, physical examination, appropriate laboratory tests, bone marrow examination, and other comple-mentary tests. The prevalence is emphasized in all sections so that the gastroenterologist can direct the diagnosis to the most common diseases, although the tables also include rare diseases. Digestive diseases potentially causing anemia have been studied in preference, but other causes of anemia have been included in the text and tables. Primitive hematological diseases that cause anemia are only listed, but are not discussed in depth. | 15 | Ophiolite hosted chromitite formed by supra-subduction zone peridotite–plume interaction显示文摘Chromitite bodies hosted in peridotites typical of suboceanic mantle(s.l.ophiolitic)are found in the northern and central part of the Loma Caribe peridotite,in the Cordillera Central of the Dominican Republic.These chromitites are massive pods of small size(less than a few meters across)and veins that intrude both dunite and harzburgite.Compositionally,they are high-Cr chromitites[Cr#=Cr/(Cr+Al)atomic ratio=0.71-0.83]singularly enriched in TiO2(up to 1.25 wt.%),Fe2 O3(2.77-9.16 wt.%)as well as some trace elements(Ga,V,Co,Mn,and Zn)and PGE(up to 4548 ppb in whole-rock).This geochemical signature is unknown for chromitites hosted in oceanic upper mantle but akin to those chromites crystallized from mantle plume derived melts.Noteworthy,the melt estimated to be in equilibrium with such chromite from the Loma Caribe chromitites is similar to basalts derived from different source regions of a heterogeneous Caribbean mantle plume.This mantle plume is responsible for the formation of the Caribbean Large Igneous Province(CLIP).Dolerite dykes with back-arc basin basalt(BABB)and enriched mid-ocean ridge basalt(E-MORB)affinities commonly intrude the Loma Caribe peridotite,and are interpreted as evidence of the impact that the Caribbean plume had in the off-axis magmatism of the back-arc basin,developed after the Caribbean island-arc extension in the Late Cretaceous.We propose a model in which chromitites were formed in the shallow portion of the back-arc mantle as a result of the metasomatic reaction between the supra-subduction zone(SSZ)peridotites and upwelling plume-related melts. | Júlia Farré-de-Pablo Joaquín A.Proenza JoséMaría González-Jiménez Thomas Aiglsperger Antonio Garcia-Casco Javier Escuder-Viruete Vanessa Colás Francisco Longo | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,6: | 1 |

| 17 | HP0953-hypothetical virulence factor overexpresion and localization during Helicobacter pylori infection of gastric epithelium显示文摘BACKGROUND The high prevalence and persistence of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection, as well as the diversity of pathologies related to it, suggest that the virulence factors used by this microorganism are varied. Moreover, as its proteome contains 340hypothetical proteins, it is important to investigate them to completely understand the mechanisms of its virulence and survival. We have previously reported that the hypothetical protein HP0953 is overexpressed during the first hours of adhesion to inert surfaces, under stress conditions, suggesting its role in the environmental survival of this bacterium and perhaps as a virulence factor.AIM To investigate the expression and localization of HP0953 during adhesion to an inert surface and against gastric(AGS) cells.METHODS Expression analysis was performed for HP0953 during H. pylori adhesion. HP0953 expression at 0,3, 12, 24, and 48 h was evaluated and compared using the Kruskal-Wallis equality-of-populations rank test. Recombinant protein was produced and used to obtain polyclonal antibodies for immunolocalization. Immunogold technique was performed on bacterial sections during adherence to inert surfaces and AGS cells, which was analyzed by transmission electron microscopy. HP0953 protein sequence was analyzed to predict the presence of a signal peptide and transmembrane helices, both provided by the ExPASy platform, and using the GLYCOPP platform for glycosylation sites. Different programs, via, I-TASSER, RaptorX, and HHalign-Kbest, were used to perform three-dimensional modeling.RESULTS HP0953 exhibited its maximum expression at 12 h of infection in gastric epithelium cells.Immunogold technique revealed HP0953 localization in the cytoplasm and accumulation in some peripheral areas of the bacterial body, with greater expression when it is close to AGS cells.Bioinformatics analysis revealed the presence of a signal peptide that interacts with the transmembrane region and then allows the release of the protein to the external environment. The programs also showed a similarity with the Tip-alpha protein of H. pylori. Tip-alpha is an exotoxin that penetrates cells and induces tumor necrosis factor alpha production, and HP0953 could have a similar function as posttranslational modification sites were found;modifications in turn require enzymes located in eukaryotic cells.
