| 1 | Effects of ion concentration and natural organic matter on arsenic(V) removal by nanofiltration under different transmembrane pressures显示文摘The removal of As(V) from synthetic water was studied using four different nanofiltration (NF) membranes (ESNA-1-K1, NF270, ESNA-1-LF, and HODRA-CORE). The influences of ion concentration, transmembrane pressure (TMP), and the presence of natural organic matter (humic acid, HA) on the arsenic removal efficiency and permeate flux were investigated. The arsenic rejection of ESNA- 1-LF was higher than those of the other membranes in all experiments (> 94%), and the HODRA-CORE membrane gave the lowest removal of arsenic (< 47%). An increase in the ion concentration in the feed solution and addition of HA decreased the arsenic rejection of the HODRA-CORE membrane. However, both increasing of the ion concentration and addition of HA made the rejection increased for the other membranes (ESNA-1-K1, NF270, and ESNA-1-LF). With increasing TMP, for all four NF membranes, increases in both arsenic rejection and permeate flux were observed. | 2 | Effects of calcination temperature on physicochemical property and activity of CuSO4/TiO2 ammonia-selective catalytic reduction catalysts显示文摘CuSO4/TiO2 catalysts with high catalytic activity and excellent resistant to SO2 and H2 O,were thought to be promising catalysts used in Selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides by NH3.The performance of catalysts is largely affected by calcination temperature.Here,effects of calcination temperature on physicochemical property and catalytic activity of CuSO4/TiO2 catalysts were investigated in depth.Catalyst samples calcined at different temperatures were prepared first and then physicochemical properties of the catalyst were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis,Raman spectra,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,temperature-pro grammed desorption of NH3,temperature-programmed reduction of H2 and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy.Results revealed that high calcination temperature had three main effects on the catalyst.First,sintering and anatase transform into rutile with increase of calcination temperature,causing a decrement of specific surface area.Second,decomposition of CuSO4 under higher calcination temperature,resulting in disappears of Br(?)nsted acid sites(S-OH),which had an adverse effect on surface acidity.Third,CuO from the decomposition of CuSO4 changed surface reducibility of the catalyst and favored the process of NH3 oxidation to nitrogen oxides(NOx).Thus,catalytic activity of the catalyst calcined under high temperatures(≥600℃)decreased largely. | Yanke Yu Jiali Zhang Changwei Chen Chi He Jifa Miao Huirong Li Jinsheng Chen | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,5: | 6 |
| 3 | Effect of Short-term Forest Bathing in Urban Parks on Perceived Anxiety of Young-adults: A Pilot Study in Guiyang, Southwest China显示文摘Forest can be taken as a natural therapy to alleviate perceived anxiety of visitors. Given the geographical difference between urban and rural forest environments, little is known about the urban forest therapy effect of anxiety alleviation with reference to the rural forest. In this study, forty-three university students(aged from 19 to 23) were recruited as participants to visit the forest parks at urban and rural areas of Guiyang City on 21 and 23 December 2016. The forest experience was separated by four sceneries. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires by self-evaluating specific anxiety change from 12 questions with scores from 1 to 10 at both entrance and exit of the parks. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and paired t-test were used to compare the change of anti-anxiety scores during forest bathing and between urban and rural forests, respectively. Results revealed that forest bathing in the urban park can alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0028), exam-pass pressure(P = 0.0040) and love-affair relationship(P = 0.0286). Although rural forest bathing can also alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0222), meanwhile, it maintained the anxiety about campus life(P < 0.0001). Forest tree richness tended to be higher in the rural forest park than in the urban one, which in contrast decreased the anxiety alleviation from inter-communication in the rural forest park(P = 0.0487). Principle component analysis indicated that participants tended to perceive more decline of anxiety from social contact in the urban forest. In conclusion, university students were recommended to pay a short visit to the urban forest with partners if they felt anxious about personal affairs and felt necessary to talk with others. | 4 | Preparation of SGO-modified nanofiltration membrane and its application in SO_4^(2-) and Cl^- separation in salt treatment显示文摘The lack of fresh water in the world makes the search for an effective method to decontaminate water an urgent priority.An important step is to remove different multivalent ions in salt treatment.Nanofiltration(NF)has been used for treating water containing different kinds of salts.In this work,sulfonate group-modified graphene oxide(SGO)was prepared,and added during the interfacial polymerization(IP)reaction to prepare SGO-modifiedNF membranes(PA-SGO).The chemical composition,structure and surface properties of PA and PA-SGO membranes were characterized by FT-IR,XPS,SEM,AFM,contact angle and zeta potential measurements.Their water flux,salt rejection and antifouling abilities were investigated systematically.The testing results showed that the water flux of PA-SGO(0.03%SGO)was 45.85 LMH under a pressure of 0.2 MPa,and the salt rejection varied in the order of Na_2SO_4(98.99%)>MgSO_4(91.25%)>MgCl_2(42.27%)>NaCl(21.96%).An anti-fouling experiment indicated that the PA-SGO membrane had good anti-fouling properties because of its decreased roughness and increased hydrophilicity and electronegativity.The PA-SGO membrane has good potential for use in removing salt ions from water. | Yanjun Zhang Changwei Zhao Shaofeng Zhang Ling Yu Jiding Li Li-an Hou | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,4: | 2 |

| 6 | Automatic Tongue Tracking in X-Ray Images显示文摘X-ray imaging is an effective technique to obtain the continuous motions of the vocal tract during speech, and Active appearance model(AAM) is a useful tool to analyze the X-ray images. However, for the task of tongue tracking in X-ray images, the accuracy of AAM fitting is insufficient. AAM aims to minimize the residual error between the model appearance and the input image. It often fails to accurately converge to the true landmarks. To improve the tracking accuracy, we propose a fitting method by combining Constrained local model(CLM) into AAM.In our method, we first combine the objective functions of AAM and CLM into a single objective function. Then,we pro ject out the texture variation and derive a gradient based method to optimize the objective function. Our method effectively incorporates not only the shape prior and global texture, but also local texture around each landmark. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method significantly reduces the fitting error. | 11 | Influence of incorporating beta zeolite nanoparticles on water permeability and ion selectivity of polyamide nanofiltration membranes显示文摘A novel polyamide(PA) thin film nanocomposite(TFN) membrane modified with Beta( β) zeolite was prepared by interfacial polymerization on a poly(ether sulfone)(PES) ultrafiltration membrane. Compared with the PA thin film composite(TFC) membrane, the introduction of β zeolite with porous structure notably increased the water flux of TFN membrane. Because the β zeolite with tiny-sized and well-defined inner-porous acted as prior flow channels for water molecules and a barrier for the sulfate ions. The successful introduction of β zeolite into the(PA) selective layer and their dispersion in the corresponding layer were verified by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and atomic force microscopy(AFM). Water contact angle, zeta potential measurements were used to characterize the changes of membrane surface properties before and after incorporating the β zeolite. With the β zeolite introducing, the water contact angle of modified TFN membrane was decreased to 47.8°, which was benefited to improve the water flux. Meanwhile, the negative charges of the modified TFN membrane was increased, resulting in an enhancement of separation effect on SO4^2- and Cl^-. | 14 | Endoscopic ultrasound-guided injection of carbon nanoparticles suspension to label rectal cancer before neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy:a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Localization of the primary tumor and ensuring safe distal surgical margins(DSMs)following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(nCRT)are challenging in locally advanced rectal cancers(LARCs).This study investigated the effectiveness of carbon nanoparticles suspension(CNS)for labeling the primary tumor and allowing precise tumor resection after nCRT.Methods:Clinicopathological data of LARC patients who underwent nCRT followed by laparoscopic radical anal preservation surgery at our center between January 2018 and February 2023 were prospectively collected.The patients were divided into the CNS tattooed(CNS)and non-tattooed(control)groups.In the CNS group,CNS was injected in four quadrants on the anal side 1 cm away from the lower tumor margin.DSMs were determined through intraoperative distal rectal examination in the control group and observation of CNS tattoos in the CNS group.DSM lengths and positive DSM rates were compared between the two groups to analyse the feasibility and effectiveness of CNS for labeling LARCs before nCRT.Results:There was no statistically significant difference in the basic demographic data,effectiveness of nCRT,or post-operative recovery rates between the two groups(all P>0.05).In the CNS group,CNS tattoos were observed on the outside of the rectal wall,with an overall efficiency of 87.1%(27/31).The CNS group had fewer positive DSMs and safer DSM lengths(2.73±0.88 vs 2.12±1.15 cm,P=0.012)than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Endoscopic ultrasound-guided injection of CNS tattoos before nCRT could effectively label the LARCs,ensuring safe DSMs during anus-preserving surgeries(Chictr.org.cn No.:ChiCTR2300068991). | Nan Lin Yuanzhao Wang Changwei Yu Weihang Wu Yongchao Fang Jin Yang Wangwu Liu Rong Wang Yanyan Jiang Yu Wang | 2023 | Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1: | 0 |
