| 1 | Downregulation of serum mi R-17 and mi R-106b levels in gastric cancer and benign gastric diseases显示文摘Altered micro RNA(mi RNA) associated with gastric cancer(GC) development and mi R-17 and mi R-106 b were differentially expressed in GC tissues. This study detected serum levels of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b expression in GC, benign gastric disease(BGD) and healthy controls to assess them as tumor markers for GC. Serum samples from 40 GC, 32 BGD(10 gastric ulcer, 14 gastric polyps, and 8 gastric ulcer with polyps) and 36 healthy individuals were subjected to quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR) analysis of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b expression. The data showed that the serum levels of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b were significantly reduced in healthy individuals and BGD patients compared to GC patients. There was a significant association of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b expression with age, but not with other clinicopathological features, such as gender, tumor differentiation, stage and lymphatic metastasis. Further analysis showed that, in discriminating GC patients from healthy controls, mi R-17 could yield a receiver-operating characteristic(ROC) area under the curve(AUC) of 0.879 with 80.6% sensitivity and 87.5% specificity and mi R-106 b could yield an AUC of 0.856 with 75.0% sensitivity and 92.5% specificity. The combined AUC of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b was 0.913 with 83.3% sensitivity and 87.5% specificity. | 2 | Modeling permafrost properties in the Qinghai-Xizang(Tibet) Plateau显示文摘Water and heat dynamics in the active layer at a monitoring site in the Tanggula Mountains, located in the permafrost region of the Qinghai-Xizang(Tibet) Plateau(QXP), were studied using the physical-process-based COUPMODEL model, including the interaction between soil temperature and moisture under freeze-thaw cycles. Meteorological, ground temperature and moisture data from different depths within the active layer were used to calibrate and validate the model. The results indicate that the calibrated model satisfactorily simulates the soil temperatures from the top to the bottom of the soil layers as well as the moisture content of the active layer in permafrost regions. The simulated soil heat flux at depths of 0 to 20 cm was consistent with the monitoring data, and the simulations of the radiation balance components were reasonable. Energy consumed for phase change was estimated from the simulated ice content during the freeze/thaw processes from 2007 to 2008. Using this model, the active layer thickness and the energy consumed for phase change were predicted for future climate warming scenarios. The model predicts an increase of the active layer thickness from the current 330 cm to approximately 350–390 cm as a result of a 1–2°C warming. However, the effect active layer thickness of more precipitation is limited when the precipitation is increased by 20%–50%. | 4 | Efficacy and advantages of modified Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments based on'kidney reinforcing'for chronic aplastic ane-mia:a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To compare the efficacy of modified treatments based on 'kidney reinforcing' in the management of chronic aplastic anemia(CAA),and explore their advantages and specialties.METHODS:One hundred and eleven patients with CAA were randomly divided into three groups:kidney reinforcing alone(KA),'kidney reinforcing and Qi tonifying'(KQ),and 'kidney reinforcing and blood circulation invigorating'(KC).Normal and positive control groups were also formed.All patients were treated for 6 months(two courses).Hemograms,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndrome scores,and therapeutic effects were assessed,and changes in T-lymphocyte subsets,regulatory T cells and cytokines were detected.RESULTS:The KQ and KC groups had lower TCM syndrome scores than the positive control group after 6 months(P < 0.05).The KQ group had a higher overall efficacy than the positive control group after 3 months(P < 0.05),while platelet counts increased in the KC group after 6 months(P < 0.05).CD3+ T-lymphocyte ratios decreased only in the KQ group,while CD3 + CD4 + CD8-Tlymphocytes increased only in the KC group after 6 months(P <0.05).Levels of interferon-γ,tumor necrosis fac-tor-α,interleukin(IL)-2 and IL-6 decreased and levels of IL-4 and IL-10 increased in all treated groups after 6 months.Levels of IL-6 in the KQ and KC groups were lower than those in the positive control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Treatments based on kidney reinforcing have a rebalancing effect on cytotoxic and T helper cells,and regulate expression of interferon-γ,IL-2,IL-6 and IL-4.KQ may be more effective in treating CAA,and KC may have an advantage in platelet recovery. | Wu Dijiong Shen Yiping Ye Baodong Fang Bingmu Lin Shengyun Chen Zhilu Jiang Huifang Feng Changwei He Lüyuan Gao Yanting Liu Yonglin Liu Yonghua Zhu Jiajia Wu Liqiang Shao Keding Zhou Yuhong | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4: | 6 |
| 5 | Recent advances in nanomaterials for sonodynamic therapy显示文摘Sonodynamic therapy(SDT),as a novel non-invasive strategy for eliminating tumor,has the advantages of deeper tissue penetration,fewer side effects,and better patient compliance,compared with photodynamic therapy(PDT).In SDT,ultrasound was used to activate sonosensitizer to produce cytotoxic reactive oxygen species(ROS),induce the collapse of vacuoles in solution,and bring about irreversible damage to cancer cells.In recent years,much effort has been devoted to developing highly efficient sonosensitizers which can efficiently generate ROS.However,the traditional organic sonosensitizers,such as porphyrins,hypericin,and curcumins,suffer from complex synthesis,poor water solubility,and low tumor targeting efficacy which limit the benefits of SDT.In contrast,inorganic sonosensitizers show good in vivo stability,controllable physicochemical properties,ease of achieving multifunctionality,and high tumor targeting,which greatly expanded their application in SDT.In this review,we systematically summarize the nanomaterials which act as the carrier of molecular sonosensitizers,and directly produce ROS under ultrasound.Moreover,the prospects of inorganic nanomaterials for SDT application are also discussed. | Ting Xu Shaojing Zhao Changwei Lin Xiuli Zheng Minhuan Lan | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,11: | 5 |
| 6 | An analytical model for estimating soil temperature profiles on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China显示文摘Soil temperature is a key variable in the control of underground hydro-thermal processes. To estimate soil temperature more accurately, this study proposed a solution method of the heat conduction equation of soil temperature(improved heat conduction model) by applying boundary conditions that incorporate the annual and diurnal variations of soil surface temperature and the temporal variation of daily temperature amplitude, as well as the temperature difference between two soil layers in the Tanggula observation site of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China. We employed both the improved heat conduction model and the classical heat conduction model to fit soil temperature by using the 5 cm soil layer as the upper boundary for soil depth. The results indicated that the daily soil temperature amplitude can be better described by the sinusoidal function in the improved model, which then yielded more accurate soil temperature simulating effect at the depth of 5 cm. The simulated soil temperature values generated by the improved model and classical heat conduction model were then compared to the observed soil temperature values at different soil depths. Statistical analyses of the root mean square error(RMSE), the normalized standard error(NSEE) and the bias demonstrated that the improved model showed higher accuracy, and the average values of RMSE, bias and NSEE at the soil depth of 10–105 cm were 1.41°C, 1.15°C and 22.40%, respectively. | 7 | Construction of Highly Emissive Pt(Ⅱ) Metallacycles upon Irradiation显示文摘Photoswitchable or photoactivatable fluorescent species have been found wide applications within supramolecular chemistry and materials science.In this study,we successfully constructed two highly emissive Pt(Ⅱ)metallacycles from the diarylethene ligands via coordination-driven self-assembly.Different from the most known fluorescent metallacycles,the obtained metallacycles have displayed'turn-on'fluorescence switching.They are non-fluorescent in solution,but they emit highly yellow or orange fluorescence under ultraviolet irradiation.The metallacycles were well characterized by 1H NMR,31P NMR and ESI-TOF-MS.The photochromic properties of the resultant metallacycles were investigated by 1H NMR,31P NMR,UV/Vis spectrum and fluorescence spectrum.Notably,NMR studies revealed that these two metallacycles featured excellent cyclization efficiency(90% conversion efficiency).Moreover,the closed-ring isomers of the metallacycles displayed relatively high quantum yield(ФF=0.5).DFT simulations demonstrated that the antiparallel configuration of the diarylethene ligand had an angle closed to 120°,which was more stable in energy compared to the parallel configuration,thus allowing for the facile construction of highly emissive metallacycles.We believe that such highly emissive metallacycles which are in-situ prepared upon irradiation can be used as new fluorescence materials for sensing and bioimaging in the future. | Yi Qin Ying Zhang Guangqiang Yin Yuxuan Wang Changwei Zhang Lijun Chen Hongwei Tan Xiaopeng Li Lin Xu Haibo Yang | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2019,37,4: | 2 |

| 9 | Comparison and validation of SRTM and ASTER GDEM for a subtropical landscape in Southeastern China显示文摘This paper evaluates the quality characteristics of existing versions of 3-arc-second SRTM and 1-arc-second GDEM over Anji County,Zhejiang,China using reference elevations from a high-quality 1:10 k topographic map.Results show that SRTM has higher accuracy(RMSE=12.44 m)than GDEM(RMSE=14.20 m for Version 1,12.76 m for Version 2);however,unsatisfactory void filling and an overall 1/2 pixel shift exits in SRTM version 4.1.Although spurious elevations over omitted water bodies still persist,GDEM Version 2 demonstrated significant improvement over Version 1.Accuracies of both SRTM and GDEM decrease on steeper slopes.Aspect also influences both the magnitude and the sign of errors.DEM accuracy in non-forested areas is considerably higher than that in forested areas.SRTM version 4.1 and GDEM version 2 possessed actual spatial resolutions of 90 m,despite both of them failed to match their nominal accuracies.SRTM Version 4.1 could be the first choice,while ASTER GDEM Version 2 would be a good alternative for areas where extensive voids exist in SRTM. | Changwei Jing Ashton Shortridge Shengpan Lin Jiaping Wu | 2014 | International Journal of Digital Earth2014,7,12: | 1 |

| 16 | Endoscopic ultrasound-guided injection of carbon nanoparticles suspension to label rectal cancer before neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy:a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Localization of the primary tumor and ensuring safe distal surgical margins(DSMs)following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(nCRT)are challenging in locally advanced rectal cancers(LARCs).This study investigated the effectiveness of carbon nanoparticles suspension(CNS)for labeling the primary tumor and allowing precise tumor resection after nCRT.Methods:Clinicopathological data of LARC patients who underwent nCRT followed by laparoscopic radical anal preservation surgery at our center between January 2018 and February 2023 were prospectively collected.The patients were divided into the CNS tattooed(CNS)and non-tattooed(control)groups.In the CNS group,CNS was injected in four quadrants on the anal side 1 cm away from the lower tumor margin.DSMs were determined through intraoperative distal rectal examination in the control group and observation of CNS tattoos in the CNS group.DSM lengths and positive DSM rates were compared between the two groups to analyse the feasibility and effectiveness of CNS for labeling LARCs before nCRT.Results:There was no statistically significant difference in the basic demographic data,effectiveness of nCRT,or post-operative recovery rates between the two groups(all P>0.05).In the CNS group,CNS tattoos were observed on the outside of the rectal wall,with an overall efficiency of 87.1%(27/31).The CNS group had fewer positive DSMs and safer DSM lengths(2.73±0.88 vs 2.12±1.15 cm,P=0.012)than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Endoscopic ultrasound-guided injection of CNS tattoos before nCRT could effectively label the LARCs,ensuring safe DSMs during anus-preserving surgeries(Chictr.org.cn No.:ChiCTR2300068991). | Nan Lin Yuanzhao Wang Changwei Yu Weihang Wu Yongchao Fang Jin Yang Wangwu Liu Rong Wang Yanyan Jiang Yu Wang | 2023 | Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1: | 0 |

| 18 | All-in-one phototheranostics based on BTP-4F-DMO nanoparticles for NIR-II fluorescence/photoacoustic dual-mode imaging and combinational therapy显示文摘Various phototheranostics have recently been developed for phototherapy.Through proper molecular design,the photochemical and photophysical properties of these phototheranostics can be promoted.Herein,an acceptor-donor-acceptor(A-D-A)-structured dye,BTP-4F-DMO,was synthesized and prepared into water-soluble nanoparticles(NPs).The obtained BTP-4F-DMO NPs had strong absorption from650 nm to 850 nm and a fluorescence emission peak at~900 nm that tailed to~1100 nm.The NPs showed a superhigh photothermal conversion efficiency of 90.5%±5%and could simultaneously generate·OH and^(1)O_(2)with a^(1)O_(2)generation quantum yield of 4.6%under 808 nm laser irradiation.Due to these advanced properties,BTP-4F-DMO NPs can switch the role of autophagy from pro-survival to prodeath,thereby further promoting cancer cell death.These features make BTP-4F-DMO NPs a promising multifunctional phototheranostic agent for NIR-II fluorescence/photoacoustic dual-mode imaging-guided synergetic photodynamic/photothermal therapy.In general,this work provides a strategy for expanding the biomedical applications of organic A-D-A-structured phototheranostics. | Ke Yang Bowen Yu Wei Liu Zequn Zhang Li Huang Shaojing Zhao Benhua Wang Jianing Yi Jun Yuan Yingping Zou Changwei Lin Xiangzhi Song Minhuan Lan | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,6: | 0 |
