1Conformation-activity studies on the interaction of berberine with acetylcholinesterase:Physical chemistry approach显示文摘Berberine has been reported as an acetylcholinesterase(AChE) inhibitor.With significantly low cytotoxicity,berberine will be developed for the clinical treatment of Alzheimer disease(AD) with higher efficacy and fewer side effects.This work investigated the structure change events of AChE that occur during the interaction with berberine by isothermal titration calorimetry(ITC),fluorescence titration, and circular dichroism(CD).The results show that the binding of berberine to AChE is mainly driven by a favorable entropy increase with a less weak affinity.Berberine causes a loss in enzymatic activity at a concentration much below the concentration which gradually exposed the tryptophan residues to a more hydrophilic environment and unfolded the protein,which indicates that the inhibition of AChE with berberine includes the main contributions of interaction and minor conformation change of the protein induced by the alkaloid.Jin Xiang Changping Yu Fang Yang Ling Yang Hong Ding 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,12:4
2Subgrid-scale model based on the vorticity gradient tensor for rotating turbulent flows显示文摘A new subgrid-scale(SGS)stress model is proposed for rotating turbulent flows,and the new model is based on the traceless symmetric part of the square of the velocity gradient tensor and the symmetric part of the vorticity gradient tensor(or the so-called vorticity strain rate tensor).The new subgrid-scale stress model is taken into account the effect of the vortex motions in turbulence,which is reflected on the anti-symmetric part of the velocity gradient tensor.In addition,the eddy viscosity of the new model reproduces the proper scaling as O(y^3)near the wall.Then,the new SGS model is applied in large-eddy simulation of the spanwise rotating turbulent channel flow.Different simulating cases are selected to test the new model.The results demonstrate that the present model can well predict the mean velocity profiles,the turbulence intensities,and the rotating turbulence structures.In addition,it needs no a second filter,and is convenient to be used in the engineering rotational flows.Han Qi Xinliang Li Changping Yu 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,3:3
3Horizontal and vertical gene transfer drive sediment antibiotic resistome in an urban lagoon system显示文摘Rapid urbanization has resulted in pervasive occurrence of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in urban aquatic ecosystems.However,limited information is available concerning the ARG profiles and the forces responsible for their assembly in urban landscape lagoon systems.Here,we employed high-throughput quantitative PCR(HT-q PCR)to characterize the spatial variations of ARGs in surface and core sediments of Yundang Lagoon,China.The results indicated that the average richness and absolute abundance of ARGs were 11 and 53 times higher in the lagoon sediments as compared to pristine reference Tibetan lake sediments,highlighting the role of anthropogenic activities in ARG pollution.Co-occurrence network analysis indicated that various anaerobic prokaryotic genera belonging to Alpha-,Deltaproteobacteria,Bacteroidetes,Euryarchaeota,Firmicutes and Synergistetes were the potential hosts of ARGs.The partial least squares-path modeling(PLS-PM)analysis revealed positive and negative indirect effects of physicochemical factors and heavy metals on the lagoon ARG profiles,via biotic factors,respectively.The horizontal(mediated by mobile genetic elements)and vertical(mediated by prokaryotic communities)gene transfer may directly contribute the most to drive the abundance and composition of ARGs,respectively.Furthermore,the neutral community model demonstrated that the assembly of sediment ARG communities was jointly governed by deterministic and stochastic processes.Overall,this study provides novel insights into the diversity and distribution of ARGs in the benthic habitat of urban lagoon systems and underlying mechanisms for the spread and proliferation of ARGs.Hongjie Wang Liyuan Hou Yongqin Liu Keshao Liu Lanping Zhang Fuyi Huang Lin Wang Azhar Rashid Anyi Hu Changping Yu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:2
4Polyploidy events shaped the expansion of transcription factors in Cucurbitaceae and exploitation of genes for tendril development显示文摘Cucurbitaceae is one of the most important plant families distributed worldwide.Transcription factors(TFs)regulate plant growth at the transcription level.Here,we performed a systematic analysis of 42641 TFs from 63 families in 14 Cucurbitaceae and 10 non-cucurbit species.Whole-genome duplication(WGD)was the dominant event type in almost all Cucurbitaceae plants.The TF families were divided into 1210 orthogroups(OGs),of which,112 were unique to Cucurbitaceae.Although the loss of several gene families was detected in Cucurbitaceae,the gene families expanded in five species that experienced a WGD event comparing with grape.Our findings revealed that the recent WGD events that had occurred in Cucurbitaceae played important roles in the expansion of most TF families.The functional enrichment analysis of the genes that significantly expanded or contracted uncovered five gene families,AUX/IAA,NAC,NBS,HB,and NF-YB.Finally,we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the TCP gene family and identified 16 tendril-related(TEN)genes in 11 Cucurbitaceae species.Interestingly,the characteristic sequence changed from CNNFYFP to CNNFYLP in the TEN gene(Bhi06M000087)of Benincasa hispida.Furthermore,we identified a new characteristic sequence,YNN,which could be used for TEN gene exploitation in Cucurbitaceae.In conclusion,this study will serve as a reference for studying the relationship between gene family evolution and genome duplication.Moreover,it will provide rich genetic resources for functional Cucurbitaceae studies in the future.Yu Zhang Yingchao Zhang Bing Li Xiao Tan Changping Zhu Tong Wu Shuyan Feng Qihang Yang Shaoqin Shen Tong Yu Zhuo Liu Xiaoming Song 2022Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,5:2

14Performance analysis of wireless local area networks(WLAN) in a coal-mine tunnel environment显示文摘In order to establish an effective wireless communication system in an underground coal-mine environment, the propagation of radio waves through a rectangular-like mine tunnel was investigated by jointly, considering both the dielectric constant and the reflectance of a mine tunnel. By combining free space and modified waveguide propagation models, we propose a new hybrid propagation model based on ray tracing. Simulation results have shown the effectiveness of establishing a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) in this coal-mine environment. 15Numerical Simulation of Mechanical Characteristics of a Metal Net for Deep-Sea Aquaculture显示文摘The investigation on hydrodynamic characteristics of a cage is important for its application in the deep-sea aquaculture in our country.With finite element method,the beam element is used to simulate a three-dimensional metal chain net,and the connector element is introduced as the interaction between metal net lines.A mechanical model for the metal net is constructed to simulate the hydrodynamic characteristics of a metal net subjected to fluid current forces.The static simulation results show that the relative errors of the displacements are 2.13%,4.19%,6.64%,and 11.35% compared with static concentrated load tests under concentrated forces of 20,40,60,and 80 N,respectively.Both the transient hydrodynamic deformations and drag forces of the netting structures under different current velocities are obtained by solving the hydrodynamic equation of the netting structure.The average relative error of the current forces obtained by numerical simulations shows an 8.13%deviation from the drag tests of the metal nets in the tank under five current velocities.The effectiveness and precision of the simulation approach are verified by static and dynamic tests.The proposed simulation approach will provide a good foundation for the further investigation of the hydrodynamic characteristics of deep-sea aquaculture metal cages and the parameter design for the safety of such cage systems.CHEN Changping LIU Hangfei HUANG Yu YANG Jie LIANG Xinyu ZHANG Chaobi LOU Yafei ZHANG Yu 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6:0
16Economic stability analysis of blue carbon cooperation in the South China sea region using evolutionary game model with Weber's law显示文摘The political environment of the South China Sea Region(SCSR)has gradually stabilized,such that regional cooperation in the preservation of marine resources seems realistic.Blue carbon international cooperation is an important solution to the problem of global warming,which has a large number of economic and political attributes.As a region that has incredibly abundant blue carbon resources,further cooperation among SCSR governments would present the opportunity to establish meaningful economic and environmental protections that would promote peaceful blue carbon development of this region.To examine the feasibility of such an undertaking,we leverage the imitator's dynamic game as a research method and introduce Weber's law to examine the subjective psychological factors(i.e.,biases)of participants in qualifying the economic stability of blue carbon cooperation in the SCSR.The results suggest that the economic stability of blue carbon cooperation correlates to Weber's coefficient and the income produced by the different strategies.Based on these findings,we discussed policy recommendations to promote the sustainable economic development of SCSR.Changping Zhao Xiaojiang Xu Mengru Liu Yu Gong Chenbin Guo 2020Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2020,18,3:0

18A new dynamic subgrid-scale model using artificial neural network for compressible flow显示文摘The subgrid-scale(SGS)kinetic energy has been used to predict the SGS stress in compressible flow and it was resolved through the SGS kinetic energy transport equation in past studies.In this paper,a new SGS eddy-viscosity model is proposed using artificial neural network to obtain the SGS kinetic energy precisely,instead of using the SGS kinetic energy equation.Using the infinite series expansion and reserving the first term of the expanded term,we obtain an approximated SGS kinetic energy,which has a high correlation with the real SGS kinetic energy.Then,the coefficient of the modelled SGS kinetic energy is resolved by the artificial neural network and the modelled SGS kinetic energy is more accurate through this method compared to the SGS kinetic energy obtained from the SGS kinetic energy equation.The coefficients of the SGS stress and SGS heat flux terms are determined by the dynamic procedure.The new model is tested in the compressible turbulent channel flow.From the a posterior tests,we know that the new model can precisely predict the mean velocity,the Reynolds stress,the mean temperature and turbulence intensities,etc.Han Qi Xinliang Li Ning Luo Changping Yu 2022Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2022,12,4:0
19Morphology and distribution of the marine diatom Azpeitia africana(Janisch ex A. Schmidt) G. Fryxell & T. P. Watkins in the South China Sea显示文摘The purpose of the present paper is to study the morphological structure and variability of Azpeitia africana and to determine its geographical distribution in the surface sediments of the South China Sea(SCS). Sediment samples were collected with grabs or box corers in one cruise in 2001 and two cruises in 2007. The sampling stations were located between 3°56.61′–20°59.37′N and 108°30.68′–116°46.70′E,where the water depth ranged from 72 m to 4 238 m. The diatom was observed by phase contrast microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Microscopical observation showed that A. africana had circular valves with the areolar lines radiating from the eccentric ring. The central rimoportula had an external tube recessed on the edge of a central ring. The marginal rimoportulae were not evenly spaced, and they were positioned more closely together in one quadrant than in the others. Azpeitia africana is the most abundant diatom species in the southern region of the SCS, and accounted for 0.9%–5.6% of all diatom species in the Xisha Islands area. Average cell density of A. africana was 1.1×10~5 valves/g. The percentage abundance of A.africana was low(0%–2.5%) in the northern regions of the SCS and the Sunda Shelf, and it was not detected in the northwestern continental shelf(shallow water area) and northern Kalimantan Island shelf.
