| 2 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 5 | Snapshot boosting: a fast ensemble framework for deep neural networks显示文摘Boosting has been proven to be effective in improving the generalization of machine learning models in many fields. It is capable of getting high-diversity base learners and getting an accurate ensemble model by combining a sufficient number of weak learners. However, it is rarely used in deep learning due to the high training budget of the neural network. Another method named snapshot ensemble can significantly reduce the training budget, but it is hard to balance the tradeoff between training costs and diversity. Inspired by the ideas of snapshot ensemble and boosting, we propose a method named snapshot boosting. A series of operations are performed to get many base models with high diversity and accuracy, such as the use of the validation set, the boosting-based training framework, and the effective ensemble strategy. | 6 | Integrated DNA-based/biochemical screening for early diagnosis of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A (MEN2A)显示文摘Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A (MEN2A), a subtype of MEN2, is characterized by medullary thyroid cancer, pheochromocytoma, and primary hyperparathyroidism. A Han Chinese pedigree with MEN2A was investigated following confirmation of the proband's diagnosis by pathological findings and DNA/biochemical screening. DNA samples from 4 other family members were collected and exon 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16 and 18 of the RET proto-oncogene were sequenced and then analyzed. A missense mutation of TGG (Trp) to TGC (Cys) at codon 634 (the classic MEN2A mutation) in exon 11 of the RET gene was detected in 3 family members, including the proband. Sequencing data were compared with the human gene mutation database. Elevated serum calcitonin level was detected initially; medullary thyroid carcinoma was revealed in the 3 cases and adrenal pheochromocy-toma was also found in the proband. Elective operations were successfully performed on the adrenal and thyroid glands because of pheochromocytoma and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Our case study confirms that integrated DNA-based/biochemical screening is crucial for early diagnosis of MEN2A and is helpful in the screening of their relatives. | 7 | Angel: a new large-scale machine learning system显示文摘Machine Learning(ML) techniques now are ubiquitous tools to extract structural information from data collections. With the increasing volume of data, large-scale ML applications require an efficient implementation to accelerate the performance. Existing systems parallelize algorithms through either data parallelism or model parallelism. But data parallelism cannot obtain good statistical efficiency due to the conflicting updates to parameters while the performance is damaged by global barriers in model parallel methods. In this paper, we propose a new system, named Angel, to facilitate the development of large-scale ML applications in production environment. By allowing concurrent updates to model across different groups and scheduling the updates in each group, Angel can achieve a good balance between hardware efficiency and statistical efficiency. Besides, Angel reduces the network latency by overlapping the parameter pulling and update computing and also utilizes the sparseness of data to avoid the pulling of unnecessary parameters. We also enhance the usability of Angel by providing a set of efficient tools to integrate with application pipelines and provisioning efficient fault tolerance mechanisms. | 8 | Initiation and Development of the Late Cenozoic Uplift of Daluo Mountains,Northeastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Daluo Mountains lie at front of the arcuate tectonic belt at the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,and are the landform boundary zone between the active Tibetan Plateau and the stable North China Craton.Studying of the late Cenozoic uplift evolution of Daluo Mountains is important for understanding the expansion mechanism of the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau and its influence on the western North China Craton.In this study,the late Cenozoic uplift of Daluo Mountains is constructed from the development of the late Cenozoic alluvial fan around Daluo Mountains.The entire sedimentary sequence and framework of the fan was revealed by the newly obtained drilling core data.The cosmogenic nuclide,optically stimulated luminescence,and detrital zircon U-Pb dating results provide new evidences for discussion about the initial timing of the late Cenozoic uplift of Daluo Mountains and the key stages of uplift during the Pleistocene.The late Cenozoic alluvial fan at front of Daluo Mountains overlies a set of fluvial-facies strata;therefore,development of the alluvial-fan marks the start of late Cenozoic uplift of Daluo Mountains.The timing of this event can be constrained to~4.64 Ma.Two extensive gravel layers(dated to ca.0.76–0.6 Ma and~0.05 Ma)developed during the Pleistocene,indicating two episodes of considerable uplift.This study provides a new time scale for the uplift and expansion of the arcuate tectonic belt at the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. | KOU Linlin DONG Xiaopeng LI Zhenhong CUI Jiawei MA Zhaoying LI Hailong | 2022 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,6: | 2 |
| 9 | Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. | 10 | Early Cenozoic diorite and diabase from Doumer Island, Antarctic Peninsula: zircon U-Pb geochronology, petrogenesis and tectonic implications显示文摘In order to understand the petrogenesis and tectonic setting of diorite and diabase units on Doumer Island, Antarctic Peninsula, this paper reports new laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS) zircon U-Pb, geochemical, and Lu-Hf isotopic data for the magmatism. The diorite and diabase samples yielded zircon U-Pb ages of 55.4 ± 0.3 and 52.8 ± 0.4 Ma, respectively. These samples are enriched in the large ion lithophile elements and the light rare earth elements, and are depleted in the high field strength elements. The zircons in these samples yield eHf(t) values from 9.03 to 11.87 and model ages(TDM2) of 342–524 Ma. The major, trace, rare earth element(REE), and Hf isotopic data for the diorites indicate that these units were formed by the mixing of magmas generated by(a) the partial melting of mantle wedge material that experienced fluid-metasomatism in a subduction zone setting, and(b) the melting of juvenile crustal material induced by the upwelling of mantle-derived magmas in a subduction–collision setting. The diabase units contain higher total REE concentrations than the diorite, indicating they were derived from a different source region. These samples also have higher Mg~# values and contain lower concentrations of Cr and Ni than the diorites, and have weakly negative Nb and Ta anomalies with Nb/Ta values of <3. The zircons in these samples yield eHf(t) values from 9.08 to 11.11 and model ages(TDM2) of 389–503 Ma. The major, trace, REE, and Hf isotopic compositions of the diabase units indicate that that they were derived from the mixing of depleted mantle-derived magmas with magmas generated by the melting of juvenile crustal material which was induced by the upwelling of the mantle into the crust. | 11 | Photo-functionalized TiO_(2) nanotubes decorated with multifunctional Ag nanoparticles for enhanced vascular biocompatibility显示文摘Titanium dioxide(TiO2)has a long history of application in blood contact materials,but it often suffers from insufficient anticoagulant properties.Recently,we have revealed the photocatalytic effect of TiO2 also induces anticoagulant properties.However,for long-term vascular implant devices such as vascular stents,besides anticoagulation,also anti-inflammatory,anti-hyperplastic properties,and the ability to support endothelial repair,are desired.To meet these requirements,here,we immobilized silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)on the surface of TiO2 nanotubes(TiO2-NTs)to obtain a composite material with enhanced photo-induced anticoagulant property and improvement of the other requested properties.The photo-functionalized TiO2-NTs showed protein-fouling resistance,causing the anticoagulant property and the ability to suppress cell adhesion.The immobilized AgNPs increased the photocatalytic activity of TiO2-NTs to enhances its photo-induced anticoagulant property.The AgNP density was optimized to endow the TiO2-NTs with anti-inflammatory property,a strong inhibitory effect on smooth muscle cells(SMCs),and low toxicity to endothelial cells(ECs).The in vivo test indicated that the photofunctionalized composite material achieved outstanding biocompatibility in vasculature via the synergy of photo-functionalized TiO2-NTs and the multifunctional AgNPs,and therefore has enormous potential in the field of cardiovascular implant devices.Our research could be a useful reference for further designing of multifunctional TiO2 materials with high vascular biocompatibility. | Jiang Chen Sheng Dai Luying Liu Manfred F.Maitz Yuzhen Liao Jiawei Cui Ansha Zhao Ping Yang Nan Huang Yunbing Wang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Effect of electric current on the cast micro-structure of Al-Si alloy显示文摘Effect of electric current on the cast microstructure of Al-Si alloy was investigated. It was found that themicrostructure of Al-Si alloy was refined as the electric current was applied during solidification. When DC (Direct Current)was applied in solidification, the eutectic Si flakes are similar to those solidified without current, but its length was shortenedand its distribution was changed ,with most of the Si flakes arrange in the radial direction, because of the electromagneticforce that resulted from the DC. On the other hand, when AC (Alternating Current) was applied during the solidification ofAl-Si alloy, most of the minute hooks on the silicon flakes that were found under DC or without any applied current werebroken into small silicon particles. | 16 | Deep-learning based on-chip rapid spectral imaging with high spatial resolution显示文摘Spectral imaging extends the concept of traditional color cameras to capture images across multiple spectral channels and has broad ap-plication prospects.Conventional spectral cameras based on scanning methods suffer from the drawbacks of low acquisition speed and large volume.On-chip computational spectral imaging based on metasur-face filters provides a promising scheme for portable applications,but endures long computation time due to point-by-point iterative spec-tral reconstruction and mosaic effect in the reconstructed spectral im-ages.In this study,on-chip rapid spectral imaging was demonstrated,which eliminated the mosaic effect in the spectral image by deep-learning-based spectral data cube reconstruction.The experimental results show that 4 orders of magnitude faster than the iterative spec-tral reconstruction were achieved,and the fidelity of the spectral re-construction for the standard color plate was over 99%for a standard color board.In particular,video-rate spectral imaging was demon-strated for moving objects and outdoor driving scenes with good per-formance for recognizing metamerism,where the concolorous sky and white cars can be distinguished via their spectra,showing great po-tential for autonomous driving and other practical applications in the field of intelligent perception. | Jiawei Yang Kaiyu Cui Yidong Huang Wei Zhang Xue Feng Fang Liu | 2023 | Chip2023,2,2: | 1 |

| 19 | Palynological Evidence of Late Pleistocene Soft-sediment Deformation Event in the Northeastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau is the youngest part of the Tibetan Plateau where tectonic activity is intense and climate change is complex.In this study,combined with field investigations,we explored accelerator mass spectrometry 14C and optically stimulated luminescence dating and palynological analysis of the sedimentary sequence in the Qingshuihe Basin to explain the origin of soft-sediment deformation layer.Dating and palynological results from the Sanchahe section in the basin revealed a detailed history of vegetation variation and associated climate change from~18 to~5 ka BP.The results indicate that the permafrost developed at~18–11.7 ka BP,and the soft-sediment deformation structures formed at~11.7–5 ka BP.Together with the characteristics of the deformation(meter-scale,continuous symmetrical wave)and paleoclimate,we suggest that the soft-sediment deformation layer in the late Pleistocene was cryoturbated under climatic conditions.The discovery of a series of cryoturbations in the Qingshuihe Basin has further enriched the regional distribution of periglacial phenomena in the west of the Ordos Plateau,expanded the distribution range of periglacial phenomena,and provided evidence for exploring the temporal and spatial changes in permafrost in northern China at the end of the late Pleistocene. | WEI Lijie LI Zhenhong DONG Xiaopeng CUI Jiawei HUANG Ting KOU Linlin | 2023 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2023,97,3: | 0 |
| 20 | Insulin Receptor in Diabetes Mellitus显示文摘Changes in insulin receptor (IR) of red blood cells in 47 patients with noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) were compared with those of 28 normal controls, with respect to the clinical significance of the measurement of insulin receptors and the mechanism of NIDDM. The levels of high and low affinity IR in the 47 patients with NIDDM were lower than those of normal controls and were prominent in untreated newly diagnosed NIDDM patients. Hyperinsulinemia was not found in these patients, indicating that the low IR activity is a primary defect, not caused by the down regulation mechanism.
