Improved measurement of electron antineutrino disappearance at Daya Bay显示文摘We report an improved measurement of the neutrino mixing angle θ_(13) from the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment. We exclude a zero value for sin^2 θ_(13) with a significance of 7.7 standard deviations. Electron antineutrinos from six reactors of 2.9 GW_(th) were detected in six antineutrino detectors deployed in two near (flux-weighted baselines of 470 m and 576 m) and one far (1648 m) underground experimental halls. Using 139 days of data, 28909 (205308) electron antineutrino candidates were detected at the far hall (near halls). The ratio of the observed to the expected number of antineutrinos assuming no oscillations at the far hall is 0.944±0.007(stat.)±0.003(syst.). An analysis of the relative rates in six detectors finds sin^2 θ_(13) =0.089±0.010(stat.)±0.005(syst.) in a three-neutrino framework.安丰鹏 安琪 白景芝 A.B.Balantekin H.R.Band W.Beriguete M.Bishai S.Blyth R.L.Brown 曹国富 曹俊 R.Carr W.T.Chan 常劲帆 Y.Chang C.Chasman 陈和生 H.Y.Chen 陈申见 陈少敏 陈潇聪 陈晓辉 陈晓苏 陈羽 陈义学 J.J.Cherwinka 朱明中 J.P.Cummings 邓子艳 丁雅韵 M.V.Diwan E.Draeger 杜小峰 D.Dwyer W.R.Edwards S.R.Ely 方绍东 付金煜 付在伟 葛良全 R.L.Gi11 M.Gonchar 龚光华 宫辉 Y.A.Gornushkin 顾文强 关梦云 郭新恒 R.W.Hackenburg R.L.Hahn S.Hans 郝慧峰 何苗 贺青 K.M.Heeger 衡月昆 P.Hinrichs Y.K.Hor Y.B.Hsiung B.z.Hu 胡涛 黄翰雄 H.z.Huang 黄性涛 P.Huber V.Issakov z.Isvan D.E.Jaffe S.Jetter 季筱璐 季向盼 姜海静 焦健斌 R.A.Johnson 康丽 S.H.Kettell M.Kramer 关健强 郭文伟 郭人能 C.Y.Lai 赖万昌 W.H.Lai K.Lau L.Lebanowski J.Lee 雷瑞霆 R.Leitner 梁干庄 梁嘉怡 C.A.Lewis 李飞 李高嵩 李秋菊 李卫东 李小波 李小男 李学潜 李仪 李志斌 梁昊 林政儒 C.L.Lin S.K.Lin 林延畅 凌家杰 J.M.Link L.Littenberg B.R.Littlejohn D.W.Liu 刘金昌 刘江来 刘颖彪 陆昌国 路浩奇 陆永康 K.B.Luk 马秋梅 马续波 马骁妍 马宇蒨 K.T.McDonald M.C.McFarlane R.D.McKeown Y.Meng D.Mohapatra Y.Nakajima J.Napolitano D.Naumov I.Nemchenok 倪浩然 W.K.Ngai 聂阳波 宁哲 J.P.Ochoa-Ricoux A.Olshevski S.Patton V.Pec J.C.Peng L.E.Piilonen L.Pinsky 潘振声 齐法制 祁鸣 钱鑫 N.Raper 任杰 R.Rosero B.Roskovec 阮锡超 邵贝贝 师恺 H.Steiner 孙功星 孙吉良 N.Tagg 谭耀豪 H.K.Tanaka 唐晓 H.Themann Y.Torun S.Trentalange O.Tsai K.V.Tsang R.H.M.Tsang C.E.Tull Y.C.Tung B.Viren V.Vorobe1 C.H.Wang 王灵淑 王玲玉 王龙泽 王萌 王乃彦 王瑞光 W.Wang 王玺 王贻芳 王喆 王铮 王志民 D.M.Webber 魏瀚宇 魏亚东 温良剑 K.Whisnant C.G.White L.Whitehead Y.Williamson T.Wise H.L.H.Wong E.T.Worcester F.F.Wu 吴群 习建博 夏冬梅 邢志忠 徐建一 徐晶 徐吉磊 徐晔 薛涛 杨长根 杨雷 叶梅 M.Yeh Y.S.Yeh B.L.Young 于泽源 占亮 C.Zhang 章飞虹 张家文 张清民 张书华 张一纯 张银鸿 张一心 张志坚 张子平 张智勇 赵洁 赵庆旺 赵豫斌 郑磊 钟玮丽 周莉 周祖英 庄红林 邹佳恒 2013Chinese Physics C2013,37,1:38

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Fe-based Amorphous Composite Coatings Reinforced by Stainless Steel Powders显示文摘In this study,a few Fe-based amorphous matrix composite coatings reinforced with various portions(4,8 and16 vol.%) of 31 6L stainless steel powders have been successfully produced through high velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF) spraying. The microstructure of the composite coatings was systematically characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The main structure of composite coatings remained amorphous while 31 6L stainless steel splats were distributed homogeneously in the amorphous matrix and well connected with surrounding amorphous phase.Bonding strength of coatings to the substrate was determined by 'pull-off' tensile tests. The results revealed that the31 6L stainless steel phase effectively improved the bonding strength of amorphous coatings, which is mainly contributed by the strong metallurgical bonding between stainless steel and amorphous splats. The addition of31 6L stainless steel also enhanced the ductility and fracture resistance of the coatings due to the ductile stainless steel phases, which can arrest crack propagation and increase energy dissipation.H.Zhou C.Zhang W.Wang M.Yasir L.Liu 2015Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,1:7
Effects of Y content and temperature on the damping capacity of extruded Mg-Y sheets显示文摘The damping behavior of extruded Mg-xY(x=0.5,1.0,3.0 wt.%)sheets were investigated in detail concerning the effects of Y addition and temperature, and the relationship between damping capacity and yield strength was discussed. At room temperature(RT),with Y content increasing from 0.5%to 3.0%,the damping capacity(Q-1)significantly decreased from 0.037 to 0.015.For all the studied sheets, the relationship between strain amplitude and Q-1 fitted well with the Granato and Liicke(G-L)dislocation damping model. With temperature increased, the G-L plots deviated from linearity indicating that the dislocation damping was not the only dominate mechanism, and the grain boundary sliding(GBS)could contribute to damping capacity.Consequently, the Q-1 increased remarkably above the critical temperature, and the critical temperature increased significantly from 50℃ to 290℃ with increasing Y contents from 0 to 3.0wt.%.This result implied that the segregation of Y solutes at grain boundary could depress the GBS,which was consistent with the recent finding of segregation tendency for rare-earth solutes. The extruded Mg-IY sheet exhibited slightly higher yield strength(Rp0.2)and Q-1 comparing with high-damping Mg-0.6Zr at RT.At an elevated temperature of 325℃,the Mg-IY sheet had similar Q-1 but over 3 times larger Rp0.2 than that of the pure Mg.The present study indicated that the extruded Mg-Y based alloys exhibited promising potential for developing high-performance damping alloys, especially for the elevated-temperature application.Y.T.Tang C.Zhang L.B.Ren W.Yang D.D.Yin G.H.Huang H.Zhou Y.B.Zhang 2019Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019,7,3:5
Analysis of hydro-mechanical processes in a ventilated tunnel in an argillaceous rock on the basis of different modelling approaches显示文摘In this paper, a modelling benchmark exercise from the DECOVALEX-2011 project is presented. The bench-mark is based on the performance and results of a laboratory drying test and of the ventilation experiment (VE) carried out in the Mont Terri Underground Rock Laboratory (URL). Both tests involve Opalinus clay. The work aims at the identification, understanding and quantification of mechanisms taking place during the ventilation of a gallery in argillaceous host rocks on one hand and at investigating the capacity of different codes and individuals to reproduce these processes on the other hand. The 4-year in situ VE took place in a 1.3 m diameter unlined tunnel and included two resaturation-desaturation cycles. The test area was equipped with over one hundred sensors (including the global water mass balance of the system, relative humidity (RH), water content, liquid pressure, relative displacement and concentration of some chemical species) to monitor the rock behaviour during ventilation. The laboratory drying experiment, carried out before the VE, was designed to mimic the in situ conditions. The work was organized in a progressive manner in terms of complexity of the computations to be performed, geared towards the full hydro-mechano-chemical (HMC) understanding of the VE, the final objective. The main results from the modelling work reported herein are that the response of the host rock to ventilation in argillaceous rocks is mainly governed by hydraulic processes (advective Darcy flow and non-advective vapour diffusion) and that the hydro-mechanical (TM) back coupling is weak. A ventilation experiment may thus be regarded as a large scale-long time pump test and it is used to determine the hydraulic conductivity of the rock mass.B.Garitte A.Bond A.Millard C.Zhang C.Mcdermott S.Nakama A.Gens 2013Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2013,5,1:3
Laser speckle imaging and wavelet analysis of cerebral blood flow associated with the opening of the blood–brain barrier by sound显示文摘The cerebral blood flow(CBF) alterations related to sound-induced opening of the blood–brain barrier(BBB) in adult mice are studied using laser speckle contrast imaging(LSCI) and wavelet analysis of vascular physiology. The results clearly show that the opening of the BBB is accompanied by the changes of venous but not microvessel circulation in the brain. The elevation of the BBB permeability is associated with the decrease of venous CBF and the increase of its complexity. These data suggest that the cerebral veins rather than microvessels are sensitive components of the CBF related to the opening BBB.O.Semyachkina-Glushkovskaya A.Abdurashitov A.Pavlov A.Shirokov N.Navolokin O.Pavlova A.Gekalyuk M.Ulanova N.Shushunova A.Bodrova E.Saranceva A.Khorovodov I.Agranovich V.Fedorova M.Sagatova A.E.Shareef C.Zhang D.Zhu V.Tuchin 2017Chinese Optics Letters2017,15,9:3
Methods for a blind analysis of isobar data collected by the STAR collaboration显示文摘In 2018,the STAR collaboration collected data from^(96)_(44)Ru+^(96)_(44)Ru and^(96)_(40)Zr+^(96)_(40)Zr at√^(S)NN=200 Ge V to search for the presence of the chiral magnetic effect in collisions of nuclei. The isobar collision species alternated frequently between 9644 Ru+^(96)_(44)Ru and^(96)_(40)Zr+^(96)_(40)Zr.In order to conduct blind analyses of studies related to the chiral magnetic effect in these isobar data,STAR developed a three-step blind analysis procedure.Analysts are initially provided a'reference sample'of data, comprised of a mix of events from the two species, the order of which respects time-dependent changes in run conditions. After tuning analysis codes and performing time-dependent quality assurance on the reference sample, analysts are provided a species-blind sample suitable for calculating efficiencies and corrections for individual≈30-min data-taking runs. For this sample,species-specific information is disguised, but individual output files contain data from a single isobar species.Only run-by-run corrections and code alteration subsequent to these corrections are allowed at this stage.Following these modifications, the'frozen'code is passed over the fully un-blind data, completing the blind analysis. As a check of the feasibility of the blind analysis procedure, analysts completed a'mock data challenge,'analyzing data from Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=27 Ge V,collected in 2018.The Au+Au data were prepared in the same manner intended for the isobar blind data. The details of the blind analysis procedure and results from the mock data challenge are presented.J.Adam L.Adamczyk J.R.Adams J.K.Adkins G.Agakishiev M.M.Aggarwal Z.Ahammed 8Experimental methods for determination of mechanical behaviors of materials at high temperatures via the split Hopkinson bars显示文摘Full understanding of the thermomechanical behaviors of materials at high strain rates and high temperatures are of great importance from not only scientific meaning but also practical value in engineering structure design and safety assessment.Great efforts have been made for abilities of operation the split Hopkinson bars, the most popular technique for experimental determination of mechanical behaviors of materials over the strain rates from 10^2 to 10^4 s^−1 over the past 70 years,at high temperatures since 1960s.A review of experiment work is presented in this paper to give an overview of the development of experimental techniques at high temperatures based on Hopkinson bar systems. The principles of the split Hopkinson bar requires the loading bars avoiding temperature gradient or keeping relatively low temperature when performing high temperature testing.Techniques such as performing temperature gradient corrections, rapid heating or using special designed automatically assembled systems were proposed by researchers to enable the operation of the split Hopkinson bars at temperature as high as possible. Moreover,to the application of high speed photographic technique for capturing the dynamic deformation process of the specimen in high temperature Hopkinson bar testing, some key issues of eliminating the strong thermal radiation induced lights oversaturation and de-blurring of images due to insufficient exposure at high temperature and high strain rate condition,as well as fabrication of high contrast speckle pattern for high temperature digital image correlation measurement were also proposed. The technique can now enable the split Hopkinson bar testing to be performed at high temperature up to 1873 K under the loading conditions of compression or tension with the in situ observation and full field measurement of deformation as well. The paper concludes with summaries of the most important achievements and highlighting of the prospects, trends and remaining challenges for future research.Q.B.Dou K.R.Wu T.Suo C.Zhang X.Guo Y.Z.Guo W.G.Guo Y.L.Li 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,6:3
A route for large-scale preparation of multifunctional superhydrophobic coating with electrochemically-modified kaolin for efficient corrosion protection of magnesium alloys显示文摘Superhydrophobic coating has been widely studied for its great applicational potential, such as for corrosion protection of magnesium alloys while it has been restrained by expensive materials, sophisticated preparation process and infirm rough structures. In this study, the electrochemical method was adopted by using a two-electrode system for rapid hydrophobic modification to obtain superhydrophobic kaolin.By mixing the modified superhydrophobic kaolin with commercial epoxy resin and polydimethylsiloxane glue, a paint can be formed and easily used on various substrates for preparation of superhydrophobic coating via spraying method. The influence factors on wettability of the modified kaolin and the mixing ratio of each component of the coating were explored. Also, the wettability, durability and anticorrosion of the prepared coating were evaluated comprehensively. The coating was able to maintain superhydrophobic after immersed in HCl solution at pH 1, the NaOH solution at pH 14, and 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution for 16, 21, 30 days, respectively. In addition, the coating exhibited 4A grade adhesion, high hydrophobicity after abraded for 200 cycles on a 600-mesh sandpaper with 100 g weight, and 99.86% anticorrosion efficiency after soaked in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution for 20 days, demonstrating a good robustness and anti-corrosion property. 10The Lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy Onboard the SATech-01 Satellite显示文摘The Lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy(LEIA),a pathfinder of the Wide-field X-ray Telescope of the Einstein Probe mission, was successfully launched onboard the SATech-01 satellite of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on2022 July 27.In this paper,we introduce the design and on-ground test results of the LEIA instrument.Using stateof-the-art Micro-Pore Optics(MPO),a wide field of view of 346 square degrees(18.6°×18.6°)of the X-ray imager is realized. An optical assembly composed of 36 MPO chips is used to focus incident X-ray photons, and four large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)sensors, each of size 6 cm×6 cm,are used as the focal plane detectors. The instrument has an angular resolution of 4’-8’(in terms of FWHM)for the central focal spot of the point-spread function, and an effective area of 2-3 cm^(2) at 1 keV in essentially all the directions within the field of view. The detection passband is 0.5-4 keV in soft X-rays and the sensitivity is2-3×10^(-11) erg s^(-1) cm^(-2)(about 1 milliCrab)with a 1000 s observation. The total weight of LEIA is 56 kg and the power is 85 W.The satellite, with a design lifetime of 2 yr,operates in a Sun-synchronous orbit of 500 km with an orbital period of 95 minutes.LEIA is paving the way for future missions by verifying in flight the technologies of both novel focusing imaging optics and CMOS sensors for X-ray observation, and by optimizing the working setups of the instrumental parameters. In addition,LEIA is able to carry out scientific observations to find new transients and to monitor known sources in the soft X-ray band, albeit with limited useful observing time available.Z.X.Ling X.J.Sun C.Zhang S.L.Sun G.Jin S.N.Zhang X.F.Zhang J.B.Chang F.S.Chen Y.F.Chen Z.W.Cheng W.Fu Y.X.Han H.Li J.F.Li Y.Li Z.D.Li P.R.Liu Y.H.Lv X.H.Ma Y.J.Tang C.B.Wang R.J.Xie Y.L.Xue A.L.Yan Q.Zhang C.Y.Bao H.B.Cai H.Q.Cheng C.Z.Cui Y.F.Dai D.W.Fan H.B.Hu J.W.Hu M.H.Huang Z.Q.Jia C.C.Jin D.Y.Li J.Q.Li H.Y.Liu M.J.Liu Y.Liu H.W.Pan Y.L.Qiu M.Sugizaki H.Sun W.X.Wang Y.L.Wang Q.Y.Wu X.P.Xu Y.F.Xu H.N.Yang X.Yang B.Zhang M.Zhang W.D.Zhang Z.Zhang D.H.Zhao X.Q.Cong B.W.Jiang L.H.Li X.B.Qiu J.N.Sun D.T.Su J.Wang C.Wu Z.Xu X.M.Yang S.K.Zhang Z.Zhang N.Zhang Y.F.Zhu H.Y.Ban X.Z.Bi Z.M.Cai W.Chen X.Chen Y.H.Chen Y.Cui X.L.Duan Z.G Feng Y.Gao J.W.He T.He J.J.Huang F.Li J.S.Li T.J.Li T.T.Li H.Q.Liu L.Liu R.Liu S.Liu N.Meng Q.Shi A.T.Sun Y.M.Wang Y.B.Wang H.C.Wu D.X Xu Y.Q Yang Y.Yang X.S.Yu K.X.Zhang Y.L.Zhang Y.H.Zhang Y.T.Zhang H.Zhou X.C.Zhu J.S.Cheng L.Qin L.Wang Q.L.Wang M.Bai R.L.Gao Z.Ji Y.R.Liu F.L.Ma Y.J.Shi J.Su Y.Y.Tan J.Z.Tong H.T.Xu C.B.Xue G.F.Xue W.Yuan 2023Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,9:2
Measurement of away-side broadening with self-subtraction of flow in Au+Au collisions at √sNN=200 GeV显示文摘High transverse momentum(pT)particle production is suppressed owing to the parton(jet)energy loss in the hot dense medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.Redistribution of energy at low-to-modest pT has been difficult to measure,owing to large anisotropic backgrounds.We report a data-driven method for background evaluation and subtraction,exploiting the away-side pseudorapidity gaps,to measure the jetlike correlation shape in Au+Au collisions at √sNN=200 GeV in the STAR experiment.The correlation shapes,for trigger particles pT>3GeV/c and various associated particle pT ranges within 0.5L.Adamczyk J.R.Adams J.K.Adkins G.Agakishiev M.M.Aggarwal Z.Ahammed I.Alekseev D.M.Anderson A.Aparin E.C.Aschenauer M.U.Ashraf F.G.Atetalla A.Attri G.S.Averichev V.Bairathi K.Barish A.Behera R.Bellwied A.Bhasin J.Bielcik J.Bielcikova L.C.Bland I.G.Bordyuzhin J.D.Brandenburg A.V.Brandin J.Butterworth H.Caines M.Calderón de la Barca Sánchez D.Cebra I.Chakaberia P.Chaloupka B.K.Chan F-H.Chang Z.Chang N.Chankova-Bunzarova A.Chatterjee D.Chen J.H.Chen X.Chen Z.Chen J.Cheng M.Cherney M.Chevalier S.Choudhury W.Christie X.Chu H.J.Crawford M.Csanád M.Daugherity T.G.Dedovich I.M.Deppner A.A.Derevschikov L.Didenko X.Dong J.L.Drachenberg J.C.Dunlop T.Edmonds N.Elsey J.Engelage G.Eppley S.Esumi O.Evdokimov A.Ewigleben O.Eyser R.Fatemi S.Fazio P.Federic J.Fedorisin C.J.Feng Y.Feng P.Filip E.Finch Y.Fisyak A.Francisco L.Fulek C.A.Gagliardi T.Galatyuk F.Geurts A.Gibson K.Gopal D.Grosnick W.Guryn A.I.Hamad A.Hamed S.Harabasz J.W.Harris S.He W.He X.H.He S.Heppelmann S.Heppelmann N.Herrmann E.Hoffman L.Holub Y.Hong S.Horvat Y.Hu H.Z.Huang S.L.Huang T.Huang X.Huang T.J.Humanic P.Huo G.Igo D.Isenhower W.W.Jacobs C.Jena A.Jentsch Y.JI J.Jia K.Jiang S.Jowzaee X.Ju E.G.Judd S.Kabana M.L.Kabir S.Kagamaster D.Kalinkin K.Kang D.Kapukchyan K.Kauder H.W.Ke D.Keane A.Kechechyan M.Kelsey Y.V.Khyzhniak D.P.Kikoła C.Kim B.Kimelman D.Kincses T.A.Kinghorn I.Kisel A.Kiselev M.Kocan L.Kochenda L.K.Kosarzewski L.Kramarik P.Kravtsov K.Krueger N.Kulathunga Mudiyanselage L.Kumar S.Kumar R.Kunnawalkam Elayavalli J.H.Kwasizur R.Lacey S.Lan J.M.Landgraf J.Lauret A.Lebedev R.Lednicky J.H.Lee Y.H.Leung C.Li W.Li W.Li X.Li Y.Li Y.Liang R.Licenik T.Lin Y.Lin M.A.Lisa F.Liu H.Liu P.Liu P.Liu T.Liu X.Liu Y.Liu Z.Liu T.Ljubicic W.J.Llope R.S.Longacre N.S.Lukow S.Luo X.Luo G.L.Ma L.Ma R.Ma Y.G.Ma N.Magdy R.Majka D.Mallick S.Margetis C.Markert H.S.Matis J.A.Mazer N.G.Minaev S.Mioduszewski B.Mohanty I.Mooney Z.Moravcova D.A.Morozov M.Nagy J.D.Nam Nasim Md K.Nayak D.Neff J.M.Nelson D.B.Nemes M.Nie G.Nigmatkulov T.Niida L.V.Nogach T.Nonaka A.S.Nunes G.Odyniec A.Ogawa S.Oh V.A.Okorokov B.S.Page R.Pak A.Pandav Y.Panebratsev B.Pawlik D.Pawlowska H.Pei C.Perkins L.Pinsky R.L.Pintér J.Pluta J.Porter M.Posik N.K.Pruthi M.Przybycien J.Putschke H.Qiu A.Quintero S.K.Radhakrishnan S.Ramachandran R.L.Ray R.Reed H.G.Ritter O.V.Rogachevskiy J.L.Romero L.Ruan J.Rusnak N.R.Sahoo H.Sako S.Salur J.Sandweiss S.Sato W.B.Schmidke N.Schmitz B.R.Schweid F.Seck J.Seger M.Sergeeva R.Seto P.Seyboth N.Shah E.Shahaliev P.V.Shanmuganathan M.Shao A.I.Sheikh F.Shen W.Q.Shen S.S.Shi Q.Y.Shou E.P.Sichtermann R.Sikora M.Simko J.Singh S.Singha N.Smirnov W.Solyst P.Sorensen H.M.Spinka B.Srivastava T.D.S.Stanislaus M.Stefaniak D.J.Stewart M.Strikhanov B.Stringfellow A.A.P.Suaide M.Sumbera B.Summa X.M.Sun X.Sun Y.Sun Y.Sun B.Surrow D.N.Svirida P.Szymanski A.H.Tang Z.Tang A.Taranenko T.Tarnowsky J.H.Thomas A.R.Timmins D.Tlusty M.Tokarev C.A.Tomkiel S.Trentalange R.E.Tribble P.Tribedy S.K.Tripathy O.D.Tsai Z.Tu T.Ullrich D.G.Underwood I.Upsal G.Van Buren J.Vanek A.N.Vasiliev I.Vassiliev F.Videbæk S.Vokal S.A.Voloshin F.Wang G.Wang J.S.Wang P.Wang Y.Wang Y.Wang Z.Wang J.C.Webb P.C.Weidenkaff L.Wen G.D.Westfall H.Wieman S.W.Wissink R.Witt Y.Wu Z.G.Xiao G.Xie W.Xie H.Xu N.Xu Q.H.Xu Y.F.Xu Y.Xu Z.Xu Z.Xu C.Yang Q.Yang S.Yang Y.Yang Z.Yang Z.Ye Z.Ye L.Yi K.Yip H.Zbroszczyk W.Zha C.Zhang D.Zhang S.Zhang S.Zhang X.P.Zhang Y.Zhang Y.Zhang Z.J.Zhang Z.Zhang Z.Zhang J.Zhao C.Zhong C.Zhou X.Zhu Z.Zhu M.Zurek M.Zyzak 2020Chinese Physics C2020,44,10:2
Thermodynamics of voltage-gated ion channels显示文摘Ion channels are essential for cellular signaling.Voltage-gated ion channels (VGICs)are the largest and most extensively studied superfamily of ion channels. They possess modular structural features such as voltage-sensing domains that encircle and form mechanical connections with the pore-forming domains.Such features are intimately related to their function in sensing and responding to changes in the membrane potential. In the present work,we discuss the thermodynamic mechanisms of the VGIC superfamily, including the two-state gating mechanism,sliding-rocking mechanism of the voltage sensor, subunit cooperation,lipid-infiltration mechanism of inactivation, and the relationship with their structural features.Xuejun C.Zhang Hanting Yang Zhenfeng Liu Fei Sun 2018Biophysics Reports2018,4,6:2
Diffusion behavior at void tip and its contributions to void shrinkage during solid-state bonding显示文摘Solid-state diffusion bonding is an advanced joining technique, which has been widely used to join similar or dissimilar materials.Generally,it is easy to observe the diffusion behavior during dissimilar bonding, but for similar bonding the diffusion behavior has yet been observed via experiments. In this study, the diffusion behavior at void tip was firstly observed during similar bonding of stainless steel.Scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy was used to examine the interface characteristic and diffusion behavior. The results showed that a diffusion region was discovered at void tip.Element concentrations of diffusion region were more than those of void region, but less than those of bonded region. This behavior indicated that the diffusion was ongoing at void tip,but the perfect bond has yet formed. The diffusion region was attributed to the interface diffusion from adjacent region to void tip due to the stress gradient along bonding interface. The mass accumulation at void tip transformed the sharp void tip into smooth one at the beginning of void shrinkage, and then resulted in shorter voids.C.Zhang M.Q.Li H.Li 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,8:2
Nanomaterials for environmental burden reduction, waste treatment, and nonpoint source pollution control:a review显示文摘Nanomaterials are applicable in the areas of reduction of environmental burden,reduction/treatment of industrial and agricultural wastes, and nonpoint source(NPS)pollution control.First, environmental burden reduction involves green process and engineering, emissions control,desulfurization/denitrification of nonrenewable energy sources, and improvement of agriculture and food systems.Second,reduction/treatment of industrial and agricultural wastes involves converting wastes into products, groundwater remediation, adsorption, delaying photocatalysis, and nanomembranes.Third,NPS pollution control involves controlling water pollution.Nanomaterials alter physical properties on a nanoscale due to their high specific surface area to volume ratio. They are used as catalysts, adsorbents, membranes, and additives to increase activity and capability due to their high specific surface areas and nano-sized effects. Thus, nanomaterials are more effective at treating environmental wastes because they reduce the amount of material needed.Guobin SHAN Rao Y.SURAMPALLI Rajeshwar D.TYAGI Tian C.ZHANG 2009Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2009,3,3:2
GPCR activation:protonation and membrane potential显示文摘GPCR proteins represent the largest family of signaling membrane proteins in eukaryotic cells.Their importance to basic cell biology, human diseases, and pharma-ceutical interventions is well established. Many crystal structures of GPCR proteins have been reported in both active and inactive conformations. These data indicate that agonist binding alone is not suffi cient to trigger the conformational change of GPCRs necessary for binding of downstream G-proteins,yet other essential factors re-main elusive.Based on analysis of available GPCR crystal structures,we identifi ed a potential conformational switch around the conserved Asp2.50,which consistently shows distinct conformations between inactive and active states.Combining the structural information with the current literature,we propose an energy-coupling mechanism,in which the interaction between a charge change of the GPCR protein and the membrane potential of the living cell plays a key role for GPCR activation.Xuejun C.Zhang Kening Sun Laixing Zhang Xuemei Li Can Cao 2013Protein & Cell2013,4,10:1
