1Sediment loads response to climate change:A preliminary study of eight large Chinese rivers显示文摘Climate change characterized by increasing temperature is able to affect precipitation regime and thus surface hydrology.However,the manner in which river sediment loads respond to climate change is not well understood,and related assessment regarding the effect of climate change on sediment loads is lacking.We present a quantitative estimate of changes in sediment loads(from 1.5 Gt yr^(-1) pre-1990 to 0.6 Gt yr^(-1) from 1991-2007) in response to climate change in eight large Chinese rivers.Over the past decades,precipitation change coupled with rising temperatures has played a significant role in influencing the sediment delivery dynamics,although human activities, such as reservoir construction,water diversion,sand mining and land cover change,are still the predominant forces. Lower precipitation coupled with rising temperatures has significantly reduced sediment loads delivered into the sea in semi-arid climates(4-61%).In contrast,increasingly warmer and wetter climates in subtropical zones has yielded more sediment(0.4-11%),although the increase was offset by human impact.Our results indicate that,compared with mechanical retention by reservoirs,water reduction caused by climate change or human withdrawals has contributed more sediment reduction for the rivers with abundant sediment supply but limited transport capacity(e.g.,the Huanghe).Furthermore,our results indicate that every 1%change in precipitation has resulted in a 1.3%change in water discharge and a 2%change in sediment loads.In addition,every 1%change in water discharge caused by precipitation has led to a 1.6%change in sediment loads,but the same percentage of water discharge change caused largely by humans would only result in a 0.9%change in sediment loads.These figures can be used as a guideline for evaluating the responses of sediment loads to climate change in similar climate zones because future global warming will cause dramatic changes in water and sediment in river basins worldwide at rates previously unseen.X.X.LU L.S.RAN S.LIU T.JIANG S.R.ZHANG J.J.WANG 2013International Journal of Sediment Research2013,28,1:14
2晚期卵巢癌、输卵管癌及原发性腹膜癌腹腔镜肿瘤细胞减灭术的安全性及有效性研究显示文摘目的总结晚期卵巢癌、输卵管癌和腹膜癌患者行腹腔镜初次或间歇性肿瘤细胞减灭术的临床经验。方法回顾分析接受腹腔镜肿瘤细胞减灭术的晚期卵巢癌(FIGOⅡc期以上)、输卵管癌和原发性腹膜癌患者临床资料。结果 32名患者接受腹腔镜评估手术。17例接受全腹腔镜肿瘤细胞减灭术,其中88.2%为满意的肿瘤细胞减灭术;11例腹腔镜评估后转开腹肿瘤细胞减灭术,其中72.7%为满意的肿瘤细胞减灭术;4例仅进行活检和(或)姑息手术。腹腔镜组平均随访时间19.7月9,例无瘤生存6,例带瘤生存2,例因肿瘤死亡。开腹组平均随访时间25.8月,3例无瘤生存,5例带瘤生存,3例因肿瘤死亡。腹腔镜组术中失血量较少,术后住院时间较短(P=0.008和P=0.03),但手术时间及并发症发生率与开腹组相比无统计学差异。中位复发时间,腹腔镜组为31.7月,开腹组为21.5个月(P=0.3)。结论对于经过精心挑选的晚期卵巢癌、输卵管癌和原发性腹膜癌病例,采用腹腔镜进行诊断、分期和肿瘤细胞减灭术,在技术上是可行的。李萌 熊光武 Farr R.Nezhat Shaghayegh M.DeNoble Connie S.Liu Jennifer E.Cho Douglas N.Brown Linus Chuang Herbert Gretz Prakash Saharia 2012中国微创外科杂志2012,12,2:11
3Intranasal administration of tetrabromobisphenol A bis(2-hydroxyethyl ether) induces neurobehavioral changes in neonatal Sprague Dawley rats显示文摘Tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA) and its derivatives are now being highly concerned due to their emerging environmental occurrence and deleterious effects on non-target organisms.Considering the potential neurotoxicity of TBBPA derivatives which has been demonstrated in vitro, what could happen in vivo is worthy of being studied. Tetrabromobisphenol A bis(2-hydroxyethyl ether)(TBBPA-BHEE), a representative TBBPA derivative, was selected for a21-day exposure experiment on neonatal Sprague Dawley(SD) rats through intranasal administration. The neurobehavioral, histopathological changes, and differentially expressed genes based on RNA microarray were investigated to evaluate the neurological effects of this chemical. The results indicated that TBBPA-BHEE exposure significantly compromised the motor co-ordination performance and the locomotor activities(p < 0.05). The neurobehavioral phenotype could be attributed to the obvious histopathological changes in both cerebrum and cerebellum, such as neural cell swelling, microglial activation and proliferation. A total of 911 genes were up-regulated, whereas 433 genes were down-regulated. Gene set enrichment analysis showed multiple signaling pathways, including ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis and wingless-int(Wnt) signaling pathway etc. were involved due to TBBPA-BHEE exposure. The gene ontology enrichment analysis showed the basic cellular function and the neurological processes like synaptic transmission were influenced. 4Flow Pattern Identification of Fluidized Beds Using ECT显示文摘Electrical capacitance tomography(ECT) was applied in measuring solids distribution in square circulating fluidized beds. The fluidization conditions varied from bubbling fluidized bed to circulating fluidized bed. In the whole range of fluidization conditions, ECT was able to instantaneously provide the solids concentration and voids distributions in the fluidized beds. 5Pinpointing the sources and measuring the lengths of the principal rivers of the world显示文摘Cultures throughout the world are associating with the rivers.People depend upon the rivers and their tributaries for food,water,transport,and many other aspects of their daily lives.Unfortunately,human beings have not calculated the accurate lengths for the great rivers even today.The lengths of the rivers are very different in popular textbooks,magazines,atlases and encyclopedias,etc.To accurately determine the lengths of the principal rivers of the world,the combination of satellite image analysis and field investigations to the source regions is proposed in this paper.The lengths of the Nile,Amazon,Yangtze,Mississippi,Yellow,Ob,Yenisey,Amur,Congo and Mekong,with lengths over or close to 5000 km,were calculated using the proposed method.The results may represent the most reliable and accurate lengths of the principal rivers of the world that are currently achievable.S.Liu P.Lu D.Liu P.Jin W.Wang 2009International Journal of Digital Earth2009,2,1:2

9Environmental pollution,a hidden culprit for health issues显示文摘The environmental and health impacts from the massive discharge of chemicals and subsequent pollution have been gaining increasing public concern.The unintended exposure to different pollutants,such as heavy metals,air pollutants and organic chemicals,may cause diverse deleterious effects on human bodies,resulting in the incidence and progression of different diseases.The article reviewed the outbreak of environmental pollution-related public health emergencies,the epidemiological evidence on certain pollution-correlated health effects,and the pathological studies on specific pollutant exposure.By recalling the notable historical life-threatening disasters incurred by local chemical pollution,the damning evidence was presented to criminate certain pollutants as the main culprit for the given health issues.The epidemiological data on the prevalence of some common diseases revealed a variety of environmental pollutants to blame,such as endocrine-disrupting chemicals(EDCs),fine particulate matters(PMs)and heavy metals.The retrospection of toxicological studies provided illustrative clues for evaluating ambient pollutant-induced health risks.Overall,environmental pollution,as the hidden culprit,should answer for the increasing public health burden,and more efforts are highly encouraged to strive to explore the cause-and-effect relationships through extensive epidemiological and pathological studies.Hanqing Xu Yang Jia Zhendong Sun Jiahui Su Qian S.Liu Qunfang Zhou Guibin Jiang 2022Eco-Environment & Health2022,1,1:1

18Implementation of distortion symmetry for the nudged elastic band method with DiSPy显示文摘The nudged elastic band(NEB)method is a commonly used approach for the calculation of minimum energy pathways of kinetic processes.However,the final paths obtained rely heavily on the nature of the initially chosen path.This often necessitates running multiple calculations with differing starting points in order to obtain accurate results.Recently,it has been shown that the NEB algorithm can only conserve or raise the distortion symmetry exhibited by an initial pathway.Using this knowledge,symmetryadapted perturbations can be generated and used as a tool to systematically lower the initial path symmetry,enabling the exploration of other low-energy pathways that may exist.Here,the group and representation theory details behind this process are presented and implemented in a standalone piece of software(DiSPy).The method is then demonstrated by applying it to the calculation of ferroelectric switching pathways in LiNbO_(3).Previously reported pathways are more easily obtained,with new paths also being found which involve a higher degree of atomic coordination.Jason M.Munro Vincent S.Liu Venkatraman Gopalan Ismaila Dabo 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:1
