| 3 | IL-33 drives the antitumor effects of dendritic cells via the induction of Tc9 cells显示文摘Dendritic cell(DC)tumor vaccines exert their antitumor effects through the induction of effector T cells.We recently identified Tc9 cells as a new potent antitumor effector T cell subset.However,approaches to direct DCs to preferably prime antitumor Tc9 cells should be further exploited.Here,we demonstrate that the addition of interleukin(IL)-33 potently promotes the induction of Tc9 cells by DCs in vitro and in vivo.IL-33 treatment also drives the cytotoxic activities of DC-induced Tc9 cells.Notably,IL-33 treatment enhances cell survival and proliferation of DC-primed CD8+T cells.More importantly,the addition of IL-33 during in vitro priming of tumor-specific Tc9 cells by DCs increases the antitumor capability of Tc9 cells.Mechanistic studies demonstrated that IL-33 treatment inhibits exhaustive CD8+T cell differentiation by inhibiting PD-1 and 2B4 expression and increasing IL-2 and CD127(IL-7 receptor-α,IL-7Rα)expression in CD8+T cells.Finally,the addition of IL-33 further promotes the therapeutic efficacy of DC-based tumor vaccines in the OT-I mouse model.Our study demonstrates the important role of IL-33 in DC-induced Tc9 cell differentiation and antitumor immunity and may have important clinical implications. | Ning Liu Yuxue Jiang Jintong Chen He Nan Yinghua Zhao Xiao Chu Alison Wang Dongjiao Wang Tianxue Qin Sujun Gao Ying Yue Siqing Wang | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,7: | 2 |

| 9 | Progranulin promotes neurite outgrowth and neuronal differentiation by regulating GSK-3β显示文摘Progranulin(PGRN)has recently emerged as a key player in a subset of frontotemporal dementias(FTD).Numerous mutations in the progranulin gene have been identified in patients with familial or sporadic frontotemporal lobar degeneration(FTLD).In order to understand the molecular mechanisms by which PGRN deficiency leads to FTLD,we examined activity of PGRN in mouse cortical and hippocampal neurons and in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells.Treatment of mouse neurons with PGRN protein resulted in an increase in neurite outgrowth,supporting the role of PGRN as a neurotrophic factor.PGRN treatment stimulated phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta(GSK-3β)in cultured neurons.Knockdown of PGRN in SH-SY5Y cells impaired retinoic acid induced differentiation and reduced the level of phosphorylated GSK-3β.PGRN knockdown cells were also more sensitized to staurosporineinduced apoptosis.These results reveal an important role of PGRN in neurite outgrowth and involvement of GSK-3βin mediating PGRN activity.Identification of GSK-3βactivation as a downstream event for PGRN signaling provides a mechanistic explanation for PGRN activity in the nervous system.Our work also suggest that loss of axonal growth stimulation during neural injury repair or deficits in axonal repair may contribute to neuronal damage or axonal loss in FTLD associated with PGRN mutations.Finally,our study suggests that modulating GSK-3βor similar signaling events may provide therapeutic benefits for FTLD cases associated with PGRN mutations. | Xue Gao Alvin P.Joselin Lei Wang Amar Kar Payal Ray Andrew Bateman Alison M.Goate Jane Y.Wu | 2010 | Protein & Cell2010,1,6: | 1 |

| 11 | Positional behavior and canopy use of black snub-nosed monkeys Rhinopithecus strykeri in the Gaoligong Mountains,Yunnan,China显示文摘Studies on positional behavior and canopy use are essential for understanding how arboreal animals adapt their morphological characteristics and behaviors to the challenges of their environment.This study explores canopy and substrate use along with positional behavior in adult black snub-nosed monkeys Rhinopithecus strykeri,an endemic,critically endangered primate species in Gaoligong Mountains,southwest China.Using continuous focal animal sampling,we collected data over a 52-month period and found that R.strykeri is highly arboreal primarily using the high layers of the forest canopy(15–30 m),along with the terminal zone of tree crowns(52.9%),medium substrates(41.5%),and oblique substrates(56.8%).We also found sex differences in canopy and substrate use.Females use the terminal zones(56.7%versus 40.4%),small/medium(77.7%versus 60.1%),and oblique(59.9%versus 46.5%)substrates significantly more than males.On the other hand,males spend more time on large/very large(39.9%versus 22.3%)and horizontal(49.7%versus 35.2%)substrates.Whereas both sexes mainly sit(84.7%),and stand quadrupedally(9.1%),males stand quadrupedally(11.5%versus 8.3%),and bipedally(2.9%versus 0.8%)more often than females.Clamber,quadrupedalism,and leap/drop are the main locomotor modes for both sexes.Rhinopithecus strykeri populations never enter canopies of degenerated secondary forest and mainly use terminal branches in the middle and upper layers of canopies in intact mid-montane moist evergreen broadleaf forest and hemlock coniferous broadleaf mixed forests across their habitat. | Yin Yang Dionisios Youlatos Alison M Behie Roula Al Belbeisi Zhipang Huang Yinping Tian Bin Wang Linchun Zhou Wen Xiao | 2022 | Current Zoology2022,68,4: | 0 |

| 13 | Shape dependent protein-induced stabilization of gold nanoparticles:From a protein corona perspective Special Collection:Distinguished Australian Researchers显示文摘Gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)are promising materials for many bioapplications.However,upon contacting with biological media,AuNPs undergo changes.The interaction with proteins results in the so-called protein corona(PC)around AuNPs,leading to the new bioidentity and optical properties.Understanding the mechanisms of PC formation and its functions can help us to utilise its benefits and avoid its drawbacks.To date,most of the previous works aimed to understand the mechanisms governing PC formation and focused on the spherical nanoparticles,although non-spherical nanoparticles are designed for a wide range of applications in biosensing.In this work,we investigated the differences in PC formation on spherical and anisotropic AuNPs(nanostars in particular)from the joint experimental(extinction spectroscopy,zeta potential and surface-enhanced Raman scattering[SERS])and computational methods(the finite element method and molecular dynamics[MD]simulations).We discovered that protein does not fully cover the surface of anisotropic nanoparticles,leaving SERS hot-spots at the tips and high curvature edges‘available’for analyte binding(no SERS signal after pre-incubation with protein)while providing protein-induced stabilization(indicated by extinction spectroscopy)of the AuNPs by providing a protein layer around the particle’s core.The findings are confirmed from our MD simulations,the adsorption energy significantly decreases with the increased radius of curvature,so that tips(adsorption energy:2762.334 kJ/mol)would be the least preferential binding site compared to core(adsorption energy:11819.263 kJ/mol).These observations will help the development of new nanostructures with improved sensing and targeting ability. | Anastasiia Tukova Yihan Nie Mohammad Tavakkoli Yaraki Ngoc Thanh Tran Jiaqiu Wang Alison Rodger Yuantong Gu Yuling Wang | 2023 | Aggregate2023,4,4: | 0 |
