2Validation of the chinese version of the EORTC QLQ-CR29 in patients with colorectal cancer显示文摘AIM To assess the validity and reliability of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-Colorectal Cancer 29(EORTC QLQ-CR29) in Chinese patients with colorectal cancer(CRC). METHODS From March 2014 to January 2015, 356 patients with CRC from four different hospitals in China were enrolled in the study, and all patients self-administered the EORTC QLQ-CR29 and the quality of life core questionnaire(EORTC QLQ-C30). Evaluation of the scores was based on the Karnofsky Performance Scale(KPS). The reliability and validity of the questionnaires were assessed by Cronbach's α coefficient, the Spearman correlation test and Wilcoxon rank sum test.RESULTS The EORTC QLQ-CR29 showed satisfactory reliability(α > 0.7), although the urinary frequency and blood and mucus in stool dimensions had only moderate reliability(α = 0.608). The multitrait scaling analyses showed good convergent(r > 0.4) and discriminant validity. Significant differences were obtained for each item in the different KPS subgroups(KPS ≤ 80; KPS > 80). body image and most single-item dimensions showed statistically significant differences in patients with a stoma compared with the rest of the patients. 3CIVB flashback analysis of hydrogen flame based on azimuthal vorticity at mixing zone exit显示文摘Swirl-premixed combustion systems exhibit potential to meet future regulations on pollution emissions. However, combustion induced vortex breakdown(CIVB) flashback is frequently observed in these systems, especially for high hydrogen content fuel. In this study, a swirl-premixed burner with diverging centerbody was used to investigate CIVB flashback based on azimuthal vorticity at mixing zone exit. Through 2D axisymmetric model, it was found that there was a maximal azimuthal vorticity at mixing zone exit for each equivalence ratio. The physical meaning of these maximal azimuthal vorticity values was the minimally required azimuthal vorticity to trigger CIVB flashback. At the same time, the required azimuthal vorticity declined with the increase of equivalence ratio since turbulent burning velocity started to control flashback. 4Adsorption/desorption of toluene on a hypercrosslinked polymeric resin in a highly humid gas stream显示文摘In many sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), large amounts of water vapor come from the air and the reactors. The relative humidity (RH) of exhaust gas is normally >60% and is supersaturated. Maintaining the property of adsorbent on VOCs in a highly humid gas stream is a serious industrial problem. In this study, the adsorption/desorption behavior of toluene in a micro-mesoporous polymeric resin was investigated in a highly humid environment to explore the influence of abound water vapor on resin adsorption and regeneration. This resin could selectively adsorb toluene at an RH of 80%, and its adsorption property was unaffected by the presence of water vapor. In the case of humidity saturation, the resin displayed a high adsorption capacity at a moisture content of <30%. Therefore, the polymer resin is an excellent water-resistant adsorbent of VOCs. In the regenerative experiment, the resin maintained its original adsorption capability after four adsorption/ desorption cycles of toluene purging with nitrogen gas at 120℃. 5Systematic Characterization of Long Non-Coding RNAs and Their Responses to Drought Stress in Dongxiang Wild Rice显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) play important roles in response to various biotic and abiotic stresses. So far, systematic identification and characterization of lncRNAs have been reported in a few model plant species and major crops, but their roles in abiotic stress response have not yet been reported in common wild rice(Oryza rufipogon). Dongxiang wild rice(DXWR) possesses a high degree of drought resistance and has been well recognized as a precious genetic resource for drought resistant rice breeding. We presented the reference catalog of 1 655 novel lncRNA transcripts in DXWR using strand-specific RNA sequencing and bioinformatics approaches. Meanwhile, a total of 1092 lncRNAs were determined as differentially expressed lncRNAs under drought stress. Quantitative real-time PCR results exhibited a high concordance with RNA sequencing data, which confirmed that the expression patterns of lncRNAs based on RNA sequencing were highly reliable. Furthermore, 8 711 transcripts were predicted as target genes of the differentially expressed lncRNAs. Functional annotation analysis based on Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes databases showed that the target genes were significantly enriched in cellular and metabolic processes, cell part, binding and plant hormone signal transduction, as well as many other terms related to abiotic stress resistance. 7Design,Manufacture and Maintenance of Pressure Equipment Based on Accidents Survey显示文摘Most of the important units of pressure equipment have been manufactured successfully in China related to the national key construction projects,such as 10 million tons/year oil refinery,million tons/year ethylene,large coal chemical,etc.However,some of them failed to operate shortly after their putting into service.Some suffered severe damage even during the previous period of manufacture and installation.In this paper,cases of accident survey and failure analysis are given for some typical pressure vessels.It is found that many accidents are related to insufficient consideration of the design and manufacture of the equipment.These accidents occur fundamentally because of the Chinese design standards & codes for pressure equipment without risk or life concepts and the support from a database for potential risk existing in their dynamic service.Most designers and manufacturers are unable to make correct design,materials selection and manufacturing process all due to a lack of engineering experience.In order to avoid the repetition of the accidents and improve the safety,reliability and economy of pressure equipment,a platform is suggested for design,manufacture and maintenance of pressure equipment in China based on accidents survey.In other words,some effective precautionary measures are taken at the design and manufacture stage,and the design methodology has to be based on service life requirement and desirable risk level.At the service stage some reasonable inspection/monitoring approaches should be utilized to control risks and ensure the equipment operating safely until its desired lifespan.Finally,the basic scheme and some key technologies are briefly given for the platform construction.The concept of risk and life based design,manufacture and maintenance proposed herein has important significance for improving and perfecting the codes and standards for design,manufacture and maintenance of Chinese pressure-bearing equipment,enhancing the life and reliability of Chinese pressure-bearing equipment and promoting the development of in-service maintenance technology that combines safety and economy.CHEN Xuedong AI Zhibin FAN Zhichao WANG Bing DOU Wanbo YANG Tiecheng GUAN Weihe 2011Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2011,24,2:3
8Simultaneous evaluation of two branches of a multifunctional integrated optic chip with an ultra-simple dual-channel configuration显示文摘We propose an ultra-simple dual-channel configuration for simultaneously evaluating two branches of a multifunctional integrated optic chip(MFIOC). In the configuration, the MFIOC is employed as a beam splitter to construct the demodulation interferometer together with a 2 × 2 fiber coupler. Interference happens between polarization modes traveling through different channels of the MFIOC. The cross-couplings of each channel are respectively characterized by the interference peaks which distribute on opposite sides of the central interference peak. Temperature responses of the MFIOC are experimentally measured from-40°C to 80°C. Results show that the proposed configuration can achieve simultaneous dual-channel transient measurements with resolution of-90 d B and dynamic range of 90 d B. 9Discovery of a series of dimethoxybenzene FGFR inhibitors with 5H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyrazine scaffold: structure–activity relationship, crystal structural characterization and in vivo study显示文摘Genomic alterations are commonly found in the signaling pathways of fibroblast growth factor receptors(FGFRs). Although there is no selective FGFR inhibitors in market, several promising inhibitors have been investigated in clinical trials, and showed encouraging efficacies in patients. By designing a hybrid between the FGFR-selectivity-enhancing motif dimethoxybenzene group and our previously identified novel scaffold, we discovered a new series of potent FGFR inhibitors, with the best one showing sub-nanomolar enzymatic activity. After several round of optimization and with the solved crystal structure, detailed structure–activity relationship was elaborated. 13Genetic Diversity and Drug Susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Isolates in a Remote Mountain Area of China显示文摘Objective We determined the genetic diversity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB) in a remote mountainous area of southwest China and evaluated the resolving ability of single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) genotyping combined with variable number tandem repeat(VNTR) genotyping for Beijing family strains in association with drug resistance status.Methods Three hundred thirty-one MTB strains were isolated from patients living in mountainous regions of southwest China,and 8-loci SNP,VNTR-15 genotyping assays,and drug susceptibility testing of 9 drugs were performed.Results A total of 183 [55.29%(183/331)] strains were classified into the Beijing family.Of the 183 strains,111(60.66%) were defined as modern Beijing strains.The most predominant modern Beijing sub-lineage and ancient Beijing sub-lineage were Bmyc10 [39.34%(72/183)] and Bmyc25 [20.77%(38/183)],respectively.Of the isolates,19.64%(65/331) were resistant to at least 1 of the 9 anti-TB drugs and 17 [4.98%(17/331)] MTB isolates were multi-drug resistant tuberculosis(MDR-TB).Two hundred sixty-one isolates showed a clustering rate of 14.18%(37/261) and a discriminatory index of 0.9990.The Beijing lineage exhibited a significantly higher prevalence of MDR-TB,as well as resistance to isoniazid(INH),rifampin(RIF),and para-aminosalicylic acid(PAS) when analyzed independently(P = 0.005,P = 0.017,P = 0.014,and P = 0.006 respectively).The Beijing lineage was not associated with genetic clustering or resistance to any drug.In addition,genetic clustering was not associated with drug resistance.Conclusion MTB strains demonstrate high genetic diversity in remote mountainous areas of southwest China.Beijing strains,especially modern Beijing strains,are predominant in remote mountainous area of China.The combination of 8-loci SNPs and VNTR-15 genotyping is a useful tool to study the molecular epidemiology of MTB strains in this area.ma ai jing wang sheng fen fan jia le zhao bing he guang xue zhao yan lin 2018Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2018,31,5:2
14Lactate anions participate in T cell cytokine production and function显示文摘After antigen stimulation, T cells preferentially increase aerobic glycolysis to meet the bioenergetic and biosynthetic demands of T cell activation, proliferation, and effector functions. Lactate, a by-product of glycolysis, has been reported to function as an important energy source and signaling molecule. Here, we found that lactate anions are involved in cytokine production in Tcells after TCR activation. During ex vivo T cell activation, the addition of excess sodium lactate(Na L) increased the production of cytokines(such as IFNγ/IL-2/TNFα) more than the addition of sodium chloride(NaCl). This enhanced cytokine production was dependent on TCR/CD3 activation but not CD28 activation. In vivo, Na L treatment inhibited tumour growth in subcutaneously transplanted tumour models in a T cell-dependent manner, which was consistent with increased T cell cytokine production in the Na L treatment group compared to the Na Cl treatment group. Furthermore, a mechanistic experiment showed that this enhanced cytokine production was regulated by GAPDH-mediated post-transcriptional regulation.
