| 1 | The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. | 4 | Shenfu Injection(参附注射液) Inhibits Inflammation in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction Complicated by Cardiac Shock显示文摘Objectives: To investigate the effect of Shenfu Injection(参附注射液, SFI) on inflammatory factors in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock(CS) treated with and intra-aortic balloon pump(IABP). Methods: This study enrolled 60 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) complicated by CS. Patients underwent IABP and emergency percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) were randomly divided into two groups by random number table with 30 cases in each group, one given SFI treatment(100 m L/24 h), one not. The two groups were then compared in a clinical setting for left ventricular function, biochemical indicators and Inflammatory factors, including C-reactive proteins(CRP), interleukin-1(IL-1) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α). Major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE) events were compared between patients of the two groups both in-hospital and in follow-ups. Results: The IABP support treatment times of patients in the IABP+SFI group were significantly shorter than the IABP group(52.87±28.84 vs. 87.45±87.31, P=0.047). In the patients of the IABP+SFI group, the CRP peak appeared in 24 h after PCI operation. The CRP peak in the patients of the IABP+SFI group was significantly lower than that in the IABP group(31.27±3.93 vs. 34.62±3.47, P=0.001). The increases in range of TNF-α in the patients of the IABP+SFI group were significantly lower than those of the IABP group(182.29±22.79 vs. 195.54±12.02, P=0.007). The increases in range of IL-1 in the patients of the IABP+SFI group were significantly lower than those of the IABP group(214.98±29.22 vs. 228.60±7.03, P=0.019). The amplitude elevated TNF-α 72 h after admission was an independent risk factor of in-hospital MACCE events(OR 0.973, 95% CI 0.890–0.987, P=0.014) in patients with STEMI and CS. | 5 | Construction, expression and characterization of the engineered antibody against tumor surface antigen, p185^(c-erbB-2)显示文摘The c-erbB-2 proto-oncogene encodes a 185kDa protein p185, which belongs to epidermal growth factorreceptor family. Amplification of this gene has been shown to correlate with poor clinical prognosis forcertain cancer patients. The monoclonal antibody A21 which directed against p185 specifically inhibitsproliferation of tumor cells overexpressing p185, hence allows it to be a candidate for targeted therapy. Inorder to overcome several drawbacks of murine MAb, we cloned its VH and VL genes and constructed thesingle-chain Fv (scFv) through a peptide linker. The recombinant scFvA21 was expressed in Escherichiacoli and purified by the affinity column. Subsequently it was characterized by ELISA, Western blot, cellimmunohistochemistry and FACS. All these assays showed the binding activity to extracellular domain(ECD) of p185. Based on those properties of scFvA21, we further constructed the scFv-Fc fusion moleculewith a homodimer form and the recombinant product was expressed in mammalian cells. In a series ofsubsequent analysis this fusion protein showed identical antigen binding site and activity with the parentantibody. | 10 | Proton pump inhibitor for non-erosive reflux disease:A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the efficacy,safety and influential factors of proton pump inhibitor(PPI)treatment for non-erosive reflux disease(NERD).METHODS:PubMed,MEDLINE,EMBASE and the Cochrane Library were searched up to April 2013 to identify eligible randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that probed into the efficacy,safety and influential factors of PPI treatment for NERD.The rates of symptomatic relief and adverse events were measured as the outcomes.After RCT selection,assessment and data collection,the pooled RRs and 95%CI were calculated.This meta-analysis was performed using the Stata 12.0 software(Stata Corporation,College Station,Texas,United States).The level of evidence was estimated by the Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development and Evaluation system.RESULTS:Seventeen RCTs including 6072 patients met the inclusion criteria.The results of the metaanalysis showed that PPI treatment was significantly superior to H2receptor antagonists(H2RA)treatment(RR=1.629,95%CI:1.422-1.867,P=0.000)and placebo(RR=1.903,95%CI:1.573-2.302,P=0.000)for the symptomatic relief of NERD.However,there were no obvious differences between PPI and H2RA(RR=0.928,95%CI:0.776-1.110,P=0.414)or PPI and the placebo(RR=1.000,95%CI:0.896-1.116,P=0.997)regarding the rate of adverse events.The overall rate of symptomatic relief of PPI against NERD was 51.4%(95%CI:0.433-0.595,P=0.000),and relief was influenced by hiatal hernia(P=0.030).The adverse rate of PPI against NERD was 21.0%(95%CI:0.152-0.208,P=0.000),and was affected by hiatal hernia(P=0.081)and drinking(P=0.053).CONCLUSION:PPI overmatched H2RA on symptomatic relief rate but not on adverse rate for NERD.Its relief rate and adverse rate were influenced by hiatal hernia and drinking. | Ji-Xiang Zhang Meng-Yao Ji Jia Song Hong-Bo Lei Shi Qiu Jing Wang Ming-Hua Ai Jun Wang Xiao-Guang Lv Zi-Rong Yang Wei-Guo Dong | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,45: | 8 |

However, combustion induced vortex breakdown(CIVB) flashback is frequently observed in these systems, especially for high hydrogen content fuel. In this study, a swirl-premixed burner with diverging centerbody was used to investigate CIVB flashback based on azimuthal vorticity at mixing zone exit. Through 2D axisymmetric model, it was found that there was a maximal azimuthal vorticity at mixing zone exit for each equivalence ratio. The physical meaning of these maximal azimuthal vorticity values was the minimally required azimuthal vorticity to trigger CIVB flashback. At the same time, the required azimuthal vorticity declined with the increase of equivalence ratio since turbulent burning velocity started to control flashback. | 12 | ZmWRKY104 positively regulates salt tolerance by modulating ZmSOD4 expression in maize显示文摘Salinity impairs plant growth, limiting agricultural development. It is desirable to identify genes responding to salt stress and their mechanism of action. We identified a function of the Zea mays WRKY transcription factor, Zm WRKY104, in salt stress response. Zm WRKY104 was localized in the nucleus and showed transcriptional activation activity. Phenotypic and physiological analysis showed that overexpression of Zm WRKY104 in maize increased the tolerance of maize to salt stress and alleviated salt-induced increases in O;accumulation, malondialdehyde(MDA) content, and percent of electrolyte leakage. Further investigation showed that Zm WRKY104 increased SOD activity by regulating Zm SOD4 expression. Yeast onehybrid, electrophoretic mobility shift test, and chromatin immunoprecipitation–quantitative PCR assay showed that Zm WRKY104 bound directly to the promoter of Zm SOD4 by recognizing the W-box motif in vivo and in vitro. Phenotypic, physiological, and biochemical analysis showed that Zm SOD4 increased salt tolerance by alleviating salt-induced increases in O;accumulation, MDA content, and percent of electrolyte leakage under salt stress. | 15 | A Phytophthora capsid Effector Targets ACD11 Binding Partners that Regulate ROS-Mediated Defense Response in Arabidopsis显示文摘Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a vital role in plant immune response, but the genes involved in the regulation of ROS are scantily reported. Phytophthora pathogens produce a large number of effectors to promote infection, but the modes of action adopted are largely unknown. Here, we report that RxLR207 could activate ROS-mediated cell death in Nicotiana benthamiana and was essential for virulence of P. capsici. We found that this effector targeted BPA1 (binding partner of ACD11) and four members of BPLs (BPAl-Like proteins)in Arabidopsis, and the bpa1 and bpl mutants had enhanced ROS accumulation and cell death under biotic or abiotic stresses. Furthermore, we showed that BPA1 and several BPLs functioned redundantly in plant immunity to P. capsici. We discovered that BPA1 and all six BPLs interacted with ACD11, and stabilization of ACD11 was impaired in the bpa 1, bpl2, bpl3, and bpl4 mutants. RxLR207 could promote the degradation of BPA1, BPL1, BPL2, and BPL4 to disrupt ACD11 stabilization in a 26S proteasome-dependent manner. Methods We isolated and characterized of bacterial strains from ATCC and water samples strains, while we analyzed data from SERS technology using gold nanoparticles as a base and cell infections were employed to rapidly detect L. pneumophila strains. Origin 8.0 was used to collect Raman spectra, smooth and homogenize data, and to contrast spectra. Principal component analysis(PCA) was conducted to discriminate differences between groups using the multivariate analysis package Py Chem 3.0.5. Results Our results indicated that the peaks of high virulence strains reached ≥4000. This criterion was verified by subsequent cell experiments. In addition, we also conducted SERS rapid identification on the virulence of several collected clinical strains and obtained accurate results. | 19 | Quality control and evaluation of human immunodeficiency virus antibody assays used for screening donated blood in China显示文摘During 2004, a total of 124 batches of HIV antibody ELISAs from domestic and overseas manufacturers, comprising approximately 60 million tests, were tested for quality and released for screening blood in China. The inter- and intra-batch variation, specificity, and sensitivity were evaluated using a laboratory panel and clinical samples. The inter-batch variation was less than 15% and only 2 of 12 assays had intra-batch variation of less than 20% for 4 dilutions of a control specimen. 257 samples confirmed positive for HIV antibody and 4826 negative samples from different regions in China were used to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of the assays. The results showed that the sensitivity is in the range from 93.7% to 100% for assays sampled directly from the manufacturers, and 91. 4%-99. 6% for those retrieved from the consumers; the specificity was in the range from 97.88% to 99.97% . The testing environment may vary in different regions of China. | 20 | Disaster Risk Science:A Geographical Perspective and a Research Framework显示文摘In this article,we recall the United Nations’30-year journey in disaster risk reduction strategy and framework,review the latest progress and key scientific and technological questions related to the United Nations disaster risk reduction initiatives,and summarize the framework and contents of disaster risk science research.The object of disaster risk science research is the'disaster system'consisting of hazard,the geographical environment,and exposed units,with features of regionality,interconnectedness,coupling,and complexity.Environmental stability,hazard threat,and socioeconomic vulnerability together determine the way that disasters are formed,establish the spatial extent of disaster impact,and generate the scale of losses.In the formation of a disaster,a conducive environment is the prerequisite,a hazard is the necessary condition,and socioeconomic exposure is the sufficient condition.The geographical environment affects local hazard intensity and therefore can change the pattern of loss distribution.Regional multi-hazard,disaster chain,and disaster compound could induce complex impacts,amplifying or attenuating hazard intensity and changing the scope of affected areas.In the light of research progress,particularly in the context of China,we propose a threelayer disaster risk science disciplinary structure,which contains three pillars(disaster science,disaster technology,and disaster governance),nine core areas,and 27 research fields.Based on these elements,we discuss the frontiers in disaster risk science research. | Peijun Shi Tao Ye Ying Wang Tao Zhou Wei Xu Juan Du Jing'ai Wang Ning Li Chongfu Huang Lianyou Liu Bo Chen Yun Su Weihua Fang Ming Wang Xiaobin Hu Jidong Wu Chunyang He Qiang Zhang Qian Ye Carlo Jaeger Norio Okada | 2020 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2020,11,4: | 4 |
