1Retinal structural-vascular-functional relationship using optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography -angiography in myopia显示文摘Background:To examine the retinal structure–vascular-function relationship using optical coherence tomography(OCT)and optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)in myopia.Methods:This was a prospective cross-sectional study comprising 86 eyes of 45 individuals with varying axial lengths and spherical equivalents and no posterior segment abnormalities.All eyes underwent optical coherence tomography with the Spectralis SD-OCT and OCTA with RTVue-XR Avanti;Optovue.Individual macular retinal layer thicknesses and flow areas and vessel densities were measured on OCT and OCTA,respectively.Linear correlations were made between the macular layer thicknesses,flow areas and vessel densities with axial length,spherical equivalent and visual acuity.Results:The participants’mean ages were 33.34±14.45 years,mean spherical equivalent refractions were−7.17±5.71 D and axial lengths were 25.95±2.41 mm.There were significant positive correlations of foveal angle(r=0.757,p=0.001),inner retinal(r=0.764,p=0.001)and outer plexiform layer(r=0.771,p=0.001)thickness on OCT and vessel densities in deep capillary plexus(r=0.313,p=0.003)on OCTA with axial length and negative correlations with spherical equivalents and visual acuity.Significant negative correlations of outer nuclear layer(r=−0.560,p=0.03)and photoreceptor outer segment layer thickness(r=−0.856,p<0.001)were noted on OCT with axial length and positive correlations with spherical equivalents and visual acuity.Conclusion:The lateral retinal stretching in myopia could possibly explain the correlation between retinal layer thickness,vascular density and visual acuity in these eyes.Further research is required to investigate this.Ramesh Venkatesh Shivani Sinha Deepika Gangadharaiah Santosh G.K.Gadde Ashwin Mohan Rohit Shetty Naresh Kumar Yadav 2019Eye and Vision2019,6,1:7

3A comparative study of variable angle volar plate and bridging external fixator with K-wire augmentation in comminuted distal radius fractures显示文摘Purpose:Comminuted intraarticular distal radial fractures are difficult to treat conservatively and require operative treatment.This study compared the functional outcomes between variable angle volar plating and external fixator with K-wire augmentation in open reduction and internal fixation.Methods:A total of 62 adult patients with comminuted intraarticular distal radius fracture were randomized into 2 groups:volar plate group and external fixator group.These patients aged between 18 and 60 years had unilateral fractures,and agreed to be included in the study.Patients with a history of fracture,bilateral fracture,associated other injuries,delayed injury for more than 2 weeks,open fracture,pre-existing arthrosis or disability,psychiatric illness and pathological fracture were excluded.Patients were followed up at 6 weeks,3 months,6 months and 1 year.The assessment of pain,functional activity,range of motion and grip strength was done at each stage of follow-up.The pain and functional activities were assessed by patient rated wrist evaluation(PRWE)score and disabilities of the arm,shoulder and hand(DASH)score.Results:Patients in volar plate group had superior PRWE score and DASH score at each stage of followup.At 1 year follow-up,the mean PRWE score were 7.48 for volar plate group and 7.35 for external fixator group;while the mean DASH score was 4.65 for volar plate group and 5.61 for external fixator group.They had better flexion and extension range of movement.They also had better pronation and supination range of motion at initial follow-up,however the difference get attenuated by 1 year.Volar plate group had significantly better grip strength than external fixator group.Complication rates were higher in external fixation group.Conclusion:Fixation with variable angle volar plate results in early wrist mobilization,better range of movement,less pain and disability and early return of function.Ratish Kumar Mishra Bhagwati Prasad Sharma Amit Kumar Rohit Sherawat 2021Chinese Journal of Traumatology2021,24,5:3
4游走脾:手术之謎显示文摘Wandering spleen,also referred to as‘ptotic spleen’,is a rare clinical condition characterized by splenicmigration form its normal left hypochondrial position to any other abdominal or pelvic position.Among themultifactorial etiologies proposed,laxity of the spleen’s primary supporting ligaments is themost agreed-upon hypothesis.We present one rare case of wandering spleen in an 11-year-old girl who presented with recurrent abdominal pain with no localizing features.Her abdominal examination revealed an intra-abdominal left iliac fossa lump with restrictedmobility,which was confirmed as a wandering spleen by abdominal sonography and contrast-enhanced computed tomography.Intraoperatively,an infarcted spleen was encountered with tortuous,elongated,torsional splenic pedicle and a single dense adhesive band with descending colon.Splenectomy was offered to the patient.Post-operatively,the patient is healthy and symptom free at one-year follow-up.The rare clinical diagnosis of this condition,particularly in the paediatric age-group,makes it an enigma for the surgical world.Ashok Kumar Puranik Rohit Mehra Sushila Chauhan Rahul Pandey 2017Gastroenterology Report2017,5,3:2
5Adder design using a 5-input majority gate in a novel “multilayer gate design paradigm” for quantum dot cellular automata circuits显示文摘This paper proposes a novel design paradigm for circuits designed in quantum dot cellular automata(QCA) technology.Previously reported QCA circuits in the literature have generally been designed in a single layer which is the main logical block in which the inverter and majority gate are on the base layer,except for the parts where multilayer wire crossing was used.In this paper the concept of multilayer wire crossing has been extended to design logic gates in multilayers.Using a 5-input majority gate in a multilayer,a 1-bit and 2-bit adder have been designed in the proposed multilayer gate design paradigm.A comparison has been made with some adders reported previously in the literature and it has been shown that circuits designed in the proposed design paradigm are much more efficient in terms of area,the requirement of QCA cells in the design and the input-output delay of the circuit.Over all,the availability of one additional spatial dimension makes the design process much more flexible and there is scope for the customizability of logic gate designs to make the circuit compact.Rohit Kumar Bahniman Ghosh Shoubhik Gupta 2015Journal of Semiconductors2015,36,4:2
6Assessment of quadriceps muscle thickness using bedside ultrasonography by nurses and physicians in the intensive care unit:Intra- and inter-operator agreement显示文摘BACKGROUND Data regarding the agreement among multiple operators for measurement of quadriceps muscle thickness by bedside ultrasonography(USG)are sparse.AIM To statistically assess the agreement among 5 operators for measurement of quadriceps muscle thickness on bedside USG.METHODS This was a cross-sectional observational study.The 5 operators of varied experience(comprised of 1 critical care consultant,2 fellows,and 2 nurses)independently measured quadriceps muscle thickness in triplicate for 45 critically ill patients each,using USG.Intra-and interrater agreement rates among the 5 operators were assessed using intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC)and expressed with 95%confidence interval(CI).RESULTS The 5 operators produced a total of 135 readings and 675 observations for ICC calculations to determine the intraoperator and interoperator variations respectively.For intraoperator agreement,the overall ICC(95%CI)was 0.998(0.997,0.999)for operator 1,0.998(0.997,0.999)for operator 2,0.997(0.995,0.999)for operator 3,0.999(0.998,0.999)for operator 4,and 0.998(0.997,0.999)for operator 5.For interoperator agreement,the overall ICC(95%CI)was 0.977(0.965,0.986;P<0.001)for reading 1,0.974(0.960,0.984;P<0.001)for reading 2,and 0.975(0.961,0.985;P<0.001)for reading 3.CONCLUSION USG measurement of quadriceps muscle thickness was not dependent on clinical experience,supporting training for nurses in it.Rohit Kumar Tajamul Hussain Shah Vijay Hadda Pawan Tiwari Saurabh Mittal Karan Madan Maroof Ahmad Khan Anant Mohan 2019World Journal of Critical Care Medicine2019,8,7:2

13Advances in treatment and prevention of hepatitis B显示文摘Chronic hepatitis B(CHB)continues to contribute to worldwide morbidity and mortality significantly.Scientists,clinicians,pharmaceutical companies,and health organizations have dedicated substantial Intellectual and monetary resources to finding a cure,increasing immunization rates,and reducing the global burden of CHB.National and international health-related organizations including the center for disease control,the national institute of health,the American Association for the study of liver disease(AASLD),The European association for the study of the Liver(EASL),The Asia Pacific association for the study of the Liver(APASL)and the world health organization release periodic recommendations for disease prevention and treatment.Our review of the most recent guidelines by EASL,AASLD,APASL,and Taiwan Association for the Study of the Liver revealed that an overwhelming majority of cited studies were published before 2018.We reviewed Hepatitis B-related literature published 2018 onwards to identify recent developments and current barriers that will likely direct future efforts towards eradicating hepatitis B.The breakthrough in our understanding of the hepatitis B virus life cycle and resulting drug development is encouraging with significant room for further progress.Data from high-risk populations,most vulnerable to the devastating effects of hepatitis B infection and reactivation remain sparse.Utilization of systems approach,optimization of experimental models,identification and validation of next-generation biomarkers,and precise modulation of the human immune response will be critical for future innovation.Within the foreseeable future,new treatments will likely complement conventional therapies rather than replace them.Most Importantly,pragmatic management of CHB related population health challenges must be prioritized to produce real-world results.Niraj James Shah Mark M Aloysius Neil Rohit Sharma Kumar Pallav 2021World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics2021,12,4:1

17Quantifying microstructural changes in retinitis pigmentosa using spectral domain – optical coherence tomography显示文摘Background:Most patients of established retinitis pigmentosa(RP)have subnormal peripheral vision and heavily rely on central vision for their daily activities.Central visual acuity is dependent on photoreceptor survival at the macula.Identification of structural changes that precede visual loss is essential.The aim of this study was to correlate the Spectral Domain-Optical Coherence Tomography(SD-OCT)characteristics with visual acuity in patients with typical RP.Methods:This was a retrospective,observational case series of 224 eyes of 113 RP patients conducted a tertiary eye care center.SD-OCT imaging was done for all eyes.Central retinal thickness(CRT),photoreceptor outer segment length(PROS),foveal outer segment pigment epithelial thickness(FOSPET)and ellipsoid zone(EZ)extent were measured.A new variable,FOSPET-PROS ratio(FPR),obtained by dividing FOSPET by PROS is defined and correlated to corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA)in logMAR using linear regression.Results:Out of 113 patients,71 were males and 42 females.Mean age of the patients was 35.4±15.1 years.Mean CDVA was 0.33±0.25 logMAR with no difference between the genders.Mean CRT(218.74±83.5μm)and FPR(1.63±0.22)significantly correlated to CDVA with a correlation coefficient of r=−0.139(p=0.048)and r=0.842(p=0.0001),respectively.FOSPET(mean=71.15±13.8μm)and PROS(mean=44.85±12.5μm)did not show a significant correlation to CDVA,independent of FPR.Conclusions:Retinal microstructural changes on SD-OCT,especially the FPR,can be used as a surrogate marker to monitor disease progression in the central retina in degenerative diseases like RP.B.Poornachandra Aruj K.Khurana Preethi Sridharan Priyansha Chatterjee Chaitra Jayadev Naresh Kumar Yadav Rohit Shetty 2019Eye and Vision2019,6,1:1

20Fractionation of coal through organo-separative refining for enhancing its potential for the CO2-gasification显示文摘Coal gasification has already been extensively studied earlier under varying conditions of steam,CO2,O2,inert conditions.Belbaid coal and its e,N and NMP-DETA SCC products recovered through organo-refining under milder ambient pressure conditions were subjected to CO2-gasification in a fixed bed reactor under varying conditions.CO2 being an inert gas becomes the most challenging to be utilized during the gasification process.The SCCs showed better CO2-gasification reactivity than the raw Belbaid coal at 900°C.The use of the catalyst K2CO3 tremendously increased the gasification reactivity for both raw coal and the SCCs.The use of sugarcane bagasse for CO2-gasification along with raw coal as well as with residual coal was also studied.Gasification under CO2 atmosphere conditions was used to structurally understand the coals as the coal structure gets loosened after extraction.Heena Dhawan Rohit Kumar Sreedevi Upadhyayula K.K.Pant D.K.Sharma 2020International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2020,7,3:1
