| 2 | Outline of the Report on Cardiovascular Disease in China,2010显示文摘Major and profound changes have taken place in China over the past 30 years.Rapid socioeconomic progress has exerted a great impact on lifestyle,ranging from food,clothing,working and living conditions,and means of transportation to leisure activities and entertainment.At the same time,new health problems have emerged,and health services are facing new challenges.Presently,cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are among the top health problems of the Chinese people,and pose a serious challenge to all engaged in the prevention and control of these diseases.An epidemic of CVD in China is emerging as a result of lifestyle changes,urbanization and longevity.Both national policy decision-making and medical practice urgently need an authoritative report which comprehensively reflects the trends in the epidemic of CVD and current preventive measures.Since 2005,guided by the Bureau of Disease Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases of China,nationwide experts in the fields of epidemiology,clinical medicine and health economics in the realms of CVD,cerebrovascular disease,diabetes and chronic kidney disease,completed the Report on Cardiovascular Diseases in China every year.The report aims to provide a timely review of the trend of the epidemic and to assess the progress of prevention and control of CVD.In addition,as the report is authoritative,representative and readable,it will become an information platform in the CVD field and an important reference book for government,academic institutes,medical organizations and clinical physicians.This publication is expected to play a positive role in the prevention and control of CVD in China.We present an abstract from the Report on Cardiovascular Diseases in China (2010),including trends in CVD,morbidity and mortality of major CVDs,up-to-date assessment of risk factors,as well as health resources for CVD,and a profile of medical expenditure,with the aim of providing evidence for decision-making in CVD prevention and control programs in China,and of delivering the most authoritative information on CVD prevention and control for all citizens. | HUSheng Shou KONG Ling Zhi GAO Run Lin ZHU Man Lu WANG Wen WANG Yong Jun WU Zhao Su CHEN Wei Wei LIU Ming Bo For the editorial board | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,3: | 93 |
| 3 | Antitumor activities of human autologous cytokineinduced killer(CIK)cells against hepatocellular carcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo显示文摘AIM: To characterize the anticancer function of cytokine-induced killer cells (CIK) and develop an adoptiveimmunotherapy for the patients with primary hepatocellularcarcinoma (HCC), we evaluated the proliferation rate,phenotype and the antitumor activity of human CIK cellsfrom healthy donors and HCC patients in vitro and in vivo.METHODS: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) fronhealthy donors and patients with primary HCC were incubatedin vitro and induced into ClK cells in the presence of variouscytokines such as interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), interleukin-1(IL-1), IL-2, and monoclonal antibody (mAb) against CD3.The phenotype and characterization of CIK cells wereidentified by flow cytometric analysis. The cytotoxicity of CIKcells was determined by 51 Cr release assay.RESULTS: The CIK cells were shown to be a heterogeneouspopulation with different cellular phenotypes. Thepercentage of CD3+/CD56+ positive cells, the dominanteffector cells, in total CIK cells from healthy donors andHCC patients, significantly increased from 0.1-0.13 % at day0 to 19.0-20.5 % at day 21 incubation, which suggested thatthe CD3+ CD56+ positive cells proliferated faster than othercell populations of CIK cells in the protocol used in thisstudy. After 28 day in vitro incubation, the ClK cells frompatients with HCC and healthy donors increased by morethan 300-fold and 500-fold in proliferation cell number,respectively. CIK cells originated from HCC patientspossessed a higher in vitro antitumor cytotoxic activity onautologous HCC cells than the autologous lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells and PBMC cells. | 4 | Expenditure of hospital care on cancer in China, from 2011 to 2015显示文摘Objective: A solid understanding of levels and trends of spending on cancer is important to evaluate whether our healthcare resources were wisely spent and to prioritize future resources for cancer treatment and prevention.However, studies on economic burden of cancers in China are scant and the results are inconsistent.Methods: The Chinese hospital information database and nearly 350 million inpatient medical record data were used. As the ratios of cancer inpatient payments to total inpatient payments were mainly influenced by the grades and sites of hospitals, the estimates of payments of cancer inpatients in this study were stratified by hospital grades and provinces. Only the payments of cancer inpatients happened in grade 2, grade 3 and specialized cancer hospitals were included in the analyses. The total medical payments of cancers in China were estimated based on the ratios of outpatient payments to inpatient payments in specialized cancer hospitals.Results: From 2011 to 2015, the payments of cancer inpatients in China have increased by 84.1% and the total inpatient payments reached 177.1 billion RMB in 2015, accounting for 4.3% of the total health expenditure in China. Based on the ratio of outpatient payments to inpatient payments, the total payments on cancer treatments in China were estimated to be 221.4 billion RMB in 2015. Among different cancer types, the highest payments were the treatment of trachea, bronchus and lung cancer. The major cancer inpatient payments(67.1% in 2015) spent in grade 3 general hospitals and this ratio increased continually from 2011 to 2015. | 5 | Adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization after curative resection for hepatocellular carcinoma patients with solitary tumor and microvascular invasion: a randomized clinical trial of efficacy and safety显示文摘Background:The optimal strategy for adjuvant therapy after curative resection for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients with solitary tumor and microvascular invasion(MVI)is controversial.This trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)after hepatectomy versus hepatectomy alone in HCC patients with a solitary tumor≥5 cm and MVI.Methods:In this randomized,open-labeled,phase III trial,HCC patients with a solitary tumor≥5 cm and MVI were randomly assigned(1:1)to receive either 1-2 cycles of adjuvant TACE after hepatectomy(Hepatectomy-TACE)or hepatectomy alone(Hepatectomy Alone).The primary endpoint was disease-free survival(DFS);the secondary end-points included overall survival(OS)and adverse events.Results:Between June 1,2009,and December 31,2012,250 patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to the Hepatectomy-TACE group(n=125)or the Hepatectomy Alone group(n=125).Clinicopathological characteristics were balanced between the two groups.The median follow-up time from randomization was 37.5 months[interquartile range 18.3-48.2 months].The median DFS was significantly longer in the Hepatectomy-TACE group than in the Hepatectomy Alone group[17.45 months(95%confidence interval[CI]11.99-29.14)vs.9.27 months(95%CI 6.05-13.70),hazard ratio[HR]=0.70(95%CI 0.52-0.95),P=0.020],respectively.The median OS was also significantly longer in the Hepatectomy-TACE group than in the Hepatectomy Alone group[44.29 months(95%CI 25.99-62.58)vs.22.37 months(95%CI 10.84-33.91),HR=0.68(95%CI 0.48-0.97),P=0.029].Treatment-related adverse events were more frequently observed in the Hepatectomy-TACE group,although these were generally mild and manageable.The most common grade 3 or 4 adverse events in both groups were neutropenia and liver dysfunction.Conclusion:Hepatectomy followed by adjuvant TACE is an appropriate option after radical resection in HCC patients with solitary tumor≥5 cm and MVI,with acceptable toxicity. | Wei Wei Pei-En Jian Shao-Hua Li Zhi-Xing Guo Yong-Fa Zhang Yi-Hong Ling Xiao-Jun Lin Li Xu Ming Shi Lie Zheng Min-Shan Chen Rong-Ping Guo | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 62 |
| 6 | ECharts: A declarative framework for rapid construction of web-based visualization显示文摘While there have been a dozen of authoring systems and programming toolkits for visual design and development,users who do not have programming skills,such as data analysts or interface designers,still may feel cumbersome to efficiently implement a web-based visualization.In this paper,we present ECharts,an open-sourced,web-based,cross-platform framework that supports the rapid construction of interactive visualization.The motivation is driven by three goals:easy-touse,rich built-in interactions,and high performance.The kernel of ECharts is a suite of declarative visual design language that customizes built-in chart types.The underlying streaming architecture,together with a high-performance graphics renderer based on HTML5 canvas,enables the high expandability and performance of ECharts.We report the design,implementation,and applications of ECharts with a diverse variety of examples.We compare the utility and performance of ECharts with C3.js,HighCharts,and Chart.js.Results of the experiments demonstrate the efficiency and scalability of our framework.Since the first release in June 2013,ECharts has iterated 63 versions,and attracted over 22,000 star counts and over 1700 related projects in the GitHub.ECharts is regarded as a leading visualization development tool in the world,and ranks the third in the GitHub visualization tab. | Deqing Li Honghui Mei Yi Shen Shuang Su Wenli Zhang Junting Wang Ming Zu Wei Chen | 2018 | Visual Informatics2018,2,2: | 69 |
| 7 | OsWRKY03, a rice transcriptional activator that functions in defense signaling pathway upstream of OsNPR1显示文摘WRKY family proteins are a class of plant specific transcription factors that involve in many stress response pathways. It has been shown that one Arabidopsis WRKY protein, AtWRKY29/22, is activated by MAP kinase signaling cascade and confers resistance to both bacterial and fungal pathogens. However, little is known about the biological roles of WRKY proteins in rice. In this study, we investigated the expression patterns of rice AtWRKY29/22 homolog, OsWRKY03, under different conditions, and also its possible role involved in plant defense. Our results showed that OsWRKY03 was up-regulated by several defense signaling molecules or different treatments. Further analysis revealed that the expres- sion of OsWRKY03 was light dependent. Transcriptional activation activity of OsWRKY03 was also demonstrated by yeast functional assay. Transient expression of OsWRKY03-GFP fusion protein in onion epidermis cells showed that OsWRKY03 was a nuclear localized protein. OsNPR1 as well as several other pathogenesis-related genes, such as OsPR1b, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (ZB8) and peroxidase (POX22.3), were induced in OsWRKY03-overexpressing transgenic plants. | 8 | Risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma: a study of 1,587 patients显示文摘Objective: The purposes of this study were to identify risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis and to examine the association between BRAF^(V600E) status and clinical features in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma(PTMC).Methods: A total of 1,587 patients with PTMC, treated in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from January2011 to March 2013, underwent retrospective analysis. We reviewed and analyzed factors including clinical results, pathology records, ultrasound results, and BRAF^(V600E) status.Results: Multivariate logistic regression analyses demonstrated that gender(male) [odds ratio(OR) = 1.845, P = 0.000], age(< 45 years)(OR = 1.606, P = 0.000), tumor size(> 6 mm)(OR = 2.137, P = 0.000), bilateralism(OR = 2.011, P = 0.000) and extrathyroidal extension(OR = 1.555, P = 0.001) served as independent predictors of central lymph node metastasis(CLNM).Moreover, CLNM(OR = 29.354, P = 0.000) served as an independent predictor of lateral lymph node metastasis(LLNM). Among patients with a solitary primary tumor, those with tumor location in the lower third of the thyroid lobe or the isthmus were more likely to experience CLNM(P < 0.05). Univariate analyses indicated that CLNM, LLNM, extrathyroidal extension, and multifocality were not significantly associated with BRAF^(V600E) mutation.Conclusions: The present study suggested that prophylactic neck dissection of the central compartment should be considered in patients with PTMC, particularly in men with tumor size greater than 6 mm, age less than 45 years, extrathyroidal extension, and tumor bilaterality. Among patients with PTMC, BRAF^(V600E) mutation is not significantly associated with prognostic factors. METHODS:One thousand and five hundred and sixtynine patients with unresectable HCC underwent TACE as initial treatment were retrospectively studied.Pretreatment variables of the initial TACE procedure with a P value less than 0.05 by univariate analysis were subjected to Cox proportional hazards model. RESULTS:The median overall survival time and 1-, 5-,10-year survival rates were 10.37 mo,47%,10%, and 7%,respectively.A Cox proportional hazard model showed that 8 pretreatment factors of regional lymphnodes metastasis,Child-Pugh class,macrovascular invasion,greatest dimension,α-fetoprotein(AFP), Hepatitis virus B,tumor capsule,and nodules were independent prognostic factors.Patients with multimodality therapy have better survival than those with TACE treatment only. CONCLUSION:Tumor status,hepatic function reserve,AFP,and hepatitis virus B status were independent prognostic factors for unresectable HCC.Distant metastasis might not be a contraindication to TACE. GmDREB gene (GenBank Acces-sion No. AF514908) encoding a stress-inducible transcriptionfactor was cloned by screening a cDNA library of Glycinemax cv. Jinong 27 with yeast one-hybrid method. GmDREBgene was 910 bp in length and encoded 174 amino acids con-taining a conserved AP2/EREBP DNA-binding domain of 58amino acids. Two conserved functional amino acids, valineand glutamic acid, were located on the 14th and the 19thamino acid residues in the conserved structural domain. Analkaline amino acid region (KKR) related to a nuclear local-ization signal was at the N-terminal, while an acidic aminoacid region (DDD) related to trans-activation was at theC-terminal. Plant expression vectors were constructed andtransformed into wheat by bombardment. In total, 13 trans-genic plants with Ubi::GmDREB and 11 transgenic plantswith rd29A::GmDREB were identified from 103 regenerationplants by molecular analysis. The drought and salt tolerancesof T1 transgenic lines with Ubi::GmDREB orrd29A::GmDREB were demonstrated to be improved ascompared to wild type. | 20 | Ozone pollution characteristics and sensitivity analysis using an observation-based model in Nanjing,Yangtze River Delta Region of China显示文摘Ground-level ozone(O3)has become a critical pollutant impeding air quality improvement in Yangtze River Delta region of China.In this study,we present O3 pollution characteristics based on one-year online measurements during 2016 at an urban site in Nanjing,Jiangsu Province.Then,the sensitivity of O3 to its precursors during 2 O3 pollution episodes in August was analyzed using a box model based on observation(OBM).The relative incremental reactivity(RIR)of hydrocarbons was larger than other precursors,suggesting that hydrocarbons played the dominant role in O3 formation.The RIR values for NOX ranged from–0.41%/%to 0.19%/%.The O3 sensitivity was also analyzed based on relationship of simulated O3 production rates with reductions of VOC and NOX derived from scenario analyses.Simulation results illustrate that O3 formation was between VOCs-limited and transition regime.Xylenes and light alkenes were found to be key species in O3 formation according to RIR values,and their sources were determined using the Positive Matrix Factorization(PMF)model.Paints and solvent use was the largest contributor to xylenes(54%),while petrochemical industry was the most important source to propene(82%).Discussions on VOCs and NOX reduction schemes suggest that the 5%O3 control goal can be achieved by reducing VOCs by 20%.To obtain 10%O3 control goal,VOCs need to be reduced by 30%with VOCs/NOX larger than 3:1. | Ming Wang Wentai Chen Lin Zhang Wei Qin Yong Zhang Xiangzhi Zhang Xin Xie | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,7: | 30 |
