3DEAP1 encodes a fasciclin-like arabinogalactan protein required for male fertility in rice显示文摘Arabinogalactan proteins(AGPs)are widely distributed in plant cells.Fasciclin-like AGPs(FLAs)belong to a subclass of AGPs that play important roles in plant growth and development.However,little is known about the biological functions of rice FLA.Herein,we report the identification of a male-sterile mutant of DEFECTIVE EXINE AND APERTURE PATTERNING1(DEAP1)in rice.The deap1 mutant anthers produced aberrant pollen grains with defective exine formation and a flattened aperture annulus and exhibited slightly delayed tapetum degradation.DEAP1 encodes a plasma membrane-associated member of groupⅢplant FLAs and is specifically and temporally expressed in reproductive cells and the tapetum layer during male development.Gene expression studies revealed reduced transcript accumulation of genes related to exine formation,aperture patterning,and tapetum development in deap1 mutants.Moreover,DEAP1 may interact with two rice D6 PROTEIN KINASE-LIKE3 s(OsD6PKL3s),homologs of a known Arabidopsis aperture protein,to affect rice pollen aperture development.Our findings suggested that DEAP1 is involved in male reproductive development and may affect exine formation and aperture patterning,thereby providing new insights into the molecular functions of plant FLAs in male fertility.Dan Zhou Ting Zou Kaixuan Zhang Pingping Xiong Fuxing Zhou Hao Chen Gongwen Li Kaiyou Zheng Yuhao Han Kun Peng Xu Zhang Shangyu Yang Qiming Deng Shiquan Wang Jun Zhu Yueyang Liang Changhui Sun Xiumei Yu Huainian Liu Lingxia Wang Ping Li Shuangcheng Li 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,7:2

5p38α has an important role in antigen cross-presentation by dendritic cells显示文摘The role of the p38 signaling pathway in the innate and adaptive immune responses has been well documented,especially in inflammatory cytokine production by dendritic cells(DCs).However,whether the p38 signaling pathway affects the important antigen(Ag)presentation function of DCs remains largely unknown.In this study,we reported that the deletion of p38αresulted in an impaired cross-presentation ability of CD8^(+) conventional DCs(cDCs)and a reduction in the direct presentation ability of CD8−cDCs ex vivo.Further study revealed that p38αhad a crucial role in Ag processing by CD8^(+) cDCs but did not affect the Ag uptake or co-stimulation of T cells.Moreover,p38αdeficiency led to reduced cross-priming of T cells in vivo.The production of the IL-12p40 and IL-12p70 cytokines by p38α-deficient cDCs was also significantly reduced.Our study identified a new role for p38αin modulating the important antigen cross-presentation function of DCs.Yifan Zhou Jianfeng Wu Chunxiao Liu Xueheng Guo Xinyi Zhu Yuan Yao Yuhao Jiao Peng He Jiahuai Han Li Wu 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,3:1
6Broadband athermal waveguides and resonators for datacom and telecom applications显示文摘The high-temperature sensitivity of the silicon material index limits the applications of silicon-based micro-ring resonators in integrated photonics. To realize a low but broadband temperature-dependent-wavelength-shift microring resonator, designing a broadband athermal waveguide becomes a significant task. In this work,we propose a broadband athermal waveguide that shows a low effective thermo-optical coefficient of1 × 10^(-6)∕K from 1400 to 1700 nm. 10Scalable synthesis of macroscopic porous carbon sheet anode for potassium-ion capacitor显示文摘Carbon materials hold the great promise for application in energy storage devices owing to their low cost, high thermal/chemical stability, and high electrical conductivity. However, it remains challenging to synthesize high-performance carbon electrodes in a simple, scalable and sustainable way. Here, we report a facile method for scalable synthesis of porous carbon anode by using cheap and easily accessible zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 as a template and polyvinylpyrrolidone as an additional carbon source. The obtained porous carbon shows the macroscopic sheet-like morphology, which has the highly disordered structure, expanded interlayer spacing, abundant pore structure, and nitrogen doping properties. This porous carbon anode is demonstrated to have the excellent K^(+) charge storage properties in specific capacity, rate capability, and cycling stability. A potassium-ion capacitor assembled by using this porous carbon as the anode, delivers a maximum energy density of 85.12 Wh/kg and power density of 11860 W/kg as well as long cycle life exceeding 3000 cycles. 13Accurate characterization of room-temperature long range magnetic order in GaN: Mn by magnetic force microscope显示文摘Room-temperature ferromagnetism with a Curie temperature higher than 380 K was studied in GaN: Mn thin films grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. By etching artificial microstructures on the GaN: Mn layer,strong magnetic responses were observed in the magnetic force microscopy (MFM) measurement,which revealed that the films were independent of dopant particles and clusters. Numerical simulation on the data of atomic force microscope (AFM) and MFM measurements covering the whole microstructure validated the formation of long range magnetic order. This result excluded a variety of controversial origins of room-temperature ferromagnetism in the GaN: Mn and gave a strong evidence of our GaN: Mn as the intrinsic diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS). 16Stable cycling of practical high-voltage LiCoO_(2)pouch cell via electrolyte modification显示文摘Nitriles as efficient electrolyte additives are widely used in high-voltage lithium-ion batteries.However,their working mechanisms are still mysterious,especially in practical high-voltage LiCoO_(2)pouch lithium-ion batteries.Herein,we adopt a tridentate ligandcontaining 1,3,6-hexanetricarbonitrile(HTCN)as an effective electrolyte additive to shed light on the mechanism of stabilizing high-voltage LiCoO_(2)cathode(4.5 V)through nitriles.The LiCoO_(2)/graphite pouch cells with the HTCN additive electrolyte possess superior cycling performance,90%retention of the initial capacity after 800 cycles at 25℃,and 72%retention after 500 cycles at 45℃,which is feasible for practical application.Such an excellent cycling performance can be attributed to the stable interface:The HTCN molecules with strong electron-donating ability participate in the construction of cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)through coordinating with Co ions,which suppresses the decomposition of electrolyte and improves the structural stability of LiCoO_(2)during cycling.In summary,the work recognizes a coordinating-based interphase-forming mechanism as an effective strategy to optimize the performance of high voltage LiCoO_(2)cathode with appropriate electrolyte additives for practical pouch batteries.Chao Tang Yawei Chen Zhengfeng Zhang Wenqiang Li Junhua Jian Yulin Jie Fanyang Huang Yehu Han Wanxia Li Fuping Ai Ruiguo Cao Pengfei Yan Yuhao Lu Shuhong Jiao 2023Nano Research2023,16,3:0
17Electrochemical Properties of Tubular SOFC Based on a Porous Ceramic Support Fabricated by Phase-Inversion Method显示文摘In this work, a tubular ceramic-supported solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) was successfully fabricated by a low cost and simple process involving phase-inversion, brush coating and co-sintering. Properties including sintering behavior, microstructure of the tubular support as well as the electrochemical properties of single cell were investigated. The results show that a porous tubular support with ?nger-like pores and macrovoids was obtained after phase-inversion process. The tubular support is proved to be gaspermeable after sintering at 1400 °C with shrinkage of about 34%. The maximum power density of single tubular SOFC is 100 mW /cm^2 and 122 mW /cm^2 at 850 °C when fed with wet methane and hydrogen, respectively. The current collection, thickness of electrolyte and gas permeability of tubular support should account for the large total resistance. 18Reducing congestion and emissions via roadside unit deployment under mixed traffic flow显示文摘It is expected that for a long time the future road trafc will be composed of both regular vehicles(RVs)and connected autonomous vehicles(CAVs).As a vehicle-to-infrastructure technology dedicated to facilitating CAV under the mixed trafc fow,roadside units(RSUs)can also improve the quality of information received by CAVs,thereby infuencing the routing behavior of CAV users.This paper explores the possibility of leveraging the RSU deployment to afect the route choices of both CAVs and RVs and the adoption rate of CAVs so as to reduce the network congestion and emissions.To this end,we frst establish a logit-based stochastic user equilibrium model to capture drivers’route choice and vehicle type choice behaviors provided the RSU deployment plan is given.Particularly,CAV users’perception error can be reduced by higher CAV penetration and denser RSUs deployed on the road due to the improved information quality.With the established equilibrium model,the RSU deployment problem is then formulated as a mathematical program with equilibrium constraints.An active-set algorithm is presented to solve the deployment problem efciently.Numerical results suggest that an optimal RSU deployment plan can efectively drive the system towards one with lower network delay and emissions.Yuhao Liu Zhibin Chen Siyuan Gong Han Liu 2023International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2023,10,1:0
19Method for the extraction of circulating nucleic acids based on MOF reveals cell-free RNA signatures in liver cancer显示文摘Cell-free RNA(cf RNA) allows assessment of health, status, and phenotype of a variety of human organs and is a potential biomarker to non-invasively diagnose numerous diseases. Nevertheless, there is a lack of highly efficient and bias-free cf RNA isolation technologies due to the low abundance and instability of cf RNA.Here, we developed a reproducible and high-efficiency isolation technology for different types of cell-free nucleic acids(containing cf RNA and viral RNA) in serum/plasma based on the inclusion of nucleic acids by metal-organic framework(MOF) materials, which greatly improved the isolation efficiency and was able to preserve RNA integrity compared with the most widely used research kit method. Importantly, the quality of cf RNA extracted by the MOF method is about 10-fold that of the kit method, and the MOF method isolates more than three times as many different RNA types as the kit method. The whole transcriptome mapping characteristics of cf RNA in serum from patients with liver cancer was described and a cf RNA signature with six cf RNAs was identified to diagnose liver cancer with high diagnostic efficiency(area under curve = 0.905 in the independent validation cohort) using this MOF method. 20OsHYPK-mediated protein N-terminal acetylation coordinates plant development and abiotic stress responses in rice显示文摘N-terminal acetylation is one of the most common protein modifications in eukaryotes,and approximately 40%of human and plant proteomes are acetylated by ribosome-associated N-terminal acetyltransferase A(NatA)in a co-translational manner.However,the in vivo regulatory mechanism of NatA and the global impact of NatA-mediated N-terminal acetylation on protein fate remain unclear.Here,we identify Huntingtin Yeast partner K(HYPK),an evolutionarily conserved chaperone-like protein,as a positive regulator of NatA activity in rice.We found that loss of OsHYPK function leads to developmental defects in rice plant architecture but increased resistance to abiotic stresses,attributable to perturbation of the N-terminal acetylome and accelerated global protein turnover.Furthermore,we demonstrated that OsHYPK is also a substrate of NatA and that N-terminal acetylation of OsHYPK promotes its own degradation,probably through the Ac/N-degron pathway,which could be induced by abiotic stresses.Taken together,our findings suggest that the OsHYPK-NatA complex plays a critical role in coordinating plant development and stress responses by dynamically regulating NatA-mediated N-terminal acetylation and global protein turnover,which are essential for maintaining adaptive phenotypic plasticity in rice.Xiaodi Gong Yaqian Huang Yan Liang Yundong Yuan Yuhao Liu Tongwen Han Shujia Li Hengbin Gao Bo Lv Xiahe Huang Eric Linster Yingchun Wang Markus Wirtz Yonghong Wang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,4:0
