| 1 | RLINl,encoding a putative coproporphyrinogen Ⅲ oxidase,is involved in lesion initiation in rice显示文摘Lesion mimic is necrotic lesions on plant leaf or stem in the absence of pathogenic infection,and its exact biological mechanism is varied.By a large-scale screening of our T-DNA mutant population,we identified a mutant rice lesion initiation 1(rlin1),which was controlled by a single nuclear recessive gene.Map-based cloning revealed that RLIN1 encoded a putative coproporphyrinogen Ⅲ oxidase in tetrapyrrole biosynthesis pathway.Sequencing results showed that a G to T substitution occurred in the second exon of RLIN1 and led to a missense mutation from Asp to Tyr.Ectopic expression of RLIN1 could rescue rlin1 lesion mimic phenotype.Histochemical analysis demonstrated that lesion formation in rlin1 was light-dependent accompanied by reactive oxygen species accumulated.These results suggest that tetrapyrrole participates in lesion formation in rice. | Changhui Sun Linchuan Liu Jiuyou Tang Aihong Lin Fantao Zhang Jun Fang Genfa Zhang Chengcai Chu | 2011 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2011,38,1: | 31 |

| 3 | Selective laser melting of NiTi alloy with superior tensile property and shape memory effect显示文摘It is a challenge to develop complex-shaped Ni Ti shape memory alloy parts by traditional processing methods, due to the poor machinability of Ni Ti alloy. It is reported that selective laser melting(SLM) of additive manufacturing could overcome this problem. However, the reported SLM-produced Ni Ti exhibits poor tensile ductility due to the inner defects and adverse unidirectional columnar grains from SLM process. In this work, the defect-less SLM-Ni Ti with nondirective columnar grains was fabricated by optimizing the intraformational laser scanning length and interformational laser scanning direction. The obtained lath-shaped SLM-Ni Ti sample exhibits tensile strain of 15.6%, more than twice of the reported maximum result(7%). | 4 | Meta-analysis and its application in global change research显示文摘Meta-analysis is a quantitative synthetic research method that statistically integrates results from in- dividual studies to find common trends and differences. With increasing concern over global change, meta-analysis has been rapidly adopted in global change research. Here, we introduce the methodolo- gies, advantages and disadvantages of meta-analysis, and review its application in global climate change research, including the responses of ecosystems to global warming and rising CO2 and O3 concentrations, the effects of land use and management on climate change and the effects of distur- bances on biogeochemistry cycles of ecosystem. Despite limitation and potential misapplication, meta-analysis has been demonstrated to be a much better tool than traditional narrative review in synthesizing results from multiple studies. Several methodological developments for research synthe- sis have not yet been widely used in global climate change researches such as cumulative meta-analysis and sensitivity analysis. It is necessary to update the results of meta-analysis on a given topic at regular intervals by including newly published studies. Emphasis should be put on multi-factor interaction and long-term experiments. There is great potential to apply meta-analysis to global climate change research in China because research and observation networks have been established (e.g. ChinaFlux and CERN), which create the need for combining these data and results to provide support for governments’ decision making on climate change. | 7 | Molecular analysis of rice plants harboring a multi-functional T-DNA tagging system显示文摘About 25,000 rice T-DNA insertional mutant lines were generated using the vector pCAS04 which has both promoter-trapping and activation-tagging function. Southern blot analysis revealed that about 40% of these mutants were single copy integration and the average T-DNA insertion number was 2.28. By extensive phenotyping in the field, quite a number of agronomically important mutants were obtained. Histochemical GUS assay with 4,310 primary mutants revealed that the GUS-staining frequency was higher than that of the previous reports in various tissues and especially high in flowers. The T-DNA flanking sequences of some mutants were isolated and the T-DNA insertion sites were mapped to the rice genome. The flanking sequence analysis demonstrated the different integration pattern of the right border and left border into rice genome. | 8 | Integrating a model with remote sensing observations by a data assimilation approach to improve the model simulation accuracy of carbon flux and evapotranspiration at two flux sites显示文摘Model simulation and in situ observations are often used to research water and carbon cycles in terrestrial ecosystems, but each of these methods has its own advantages and limitations. Combining these two methods could improve the accuracy of quantifying the dynamics of the water and carbon fluxes of an ecosystem. Data assimilation is an effective means of integrating modeling with in situ observation. In this study, the ensemble Kalman filter(En KF) and the unscented Kalman filter(UKF) algorithms were used to assimilate remotely sensed leaf area index(LAI) data with the Biome-BGC model to simulate water and carbon fluxes at the Harvard Forest Environmental Monitoring Site(EMS) and the Dinghushan site. After MODIS LAI data from 2000–2004 were assimilated into the improved Biome-BGC model using the En KF algorithm at the Harvard Forest site, the R2 between the simulated and observed results for NEE and evapotranspiration increased by 7.8% and 4.7%, respectively. In addition, the sum of the absolute error(SAE) and the root mean square error(RMSE) of NEE decreased by an average of 21.9% and 26.3%, and the SAE and RMSE of evapotranspiration decreased by 24.5% and 25.5%, respectively. MODIS LAI data of 2003 were assimilated into the Biome-BGC model for the Dinghushan site, and the R2 values between the simulated and observed results for NEE and evapotranspiration were increased by 6.7% and 17.3%, respectively. In addition, the SAE values of NEE and ET were decreased by 11.3% and 30.7%, respectively, and the RMSE values of NEE and ET decreased by 10.1% and 30.9%, respectively. | 17 | The protective effect of carnosic acid on dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis based on metabolomics and gut microbiota analysis显示文摘Accumulating evidence suggests that the gut microbiota plays an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Carnosic acid(CA)is a major antioxidant component of rosemary and sage.Herein,we investigated the protective effects of dietary CA on dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis mouse model with an emphasis on its impact on the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota.We found that CA effectively attenuated DSS-stimulated colitis in mice,as evidenced by reduced disease activity index(DAI),and systemic and colonic inflammation.Additionally,CA restored microbial diversity and improved the composition of gut microbiota in DSS-treated mice.Moreover,Spearman’s correlation coefficient showed a significant correlation between the fecal metabolites and the gut microbiota species.Changes in gut microbiota and the correlated metabolites might partially explain CA’s anti-inflammatory effects against colitis.Future clinical trials are needed to determine the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of CA on IBD in humans. | Changhui Du Zhenjie Li Jing Zhang Ni Yin Lirong Tang Jie Li Jingyin Sun Xiaoqing Yu Wei Chen Hang Xiao Xian Wu Xuexiang Chen | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,4: | 1 |
