| 1 | Radiofrequency ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization therapy versus surgical resection for Barcelona-Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) A hepatocellular carcinoma: a meta-analysis显示文摘Purpose: The objective of our study was to compare the effectiveness of the combination of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) and radiofrequency ablation(RFA) with that of surgical resection(SR) in Barcelona-Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) A hepatocellular carcinoma. Materials and Methods: PubMed, Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Library were searched for comparisons of the two therapies from January 2006 to December 2017. Overall survival rate(OS), recurrence-free survival rate(RFS), complications, and the average length of hospital stay were compared and analyzed. Review Manager v. 5.2 from the Cochrane Collaboration was used for statistical analyses. Results: Seven case-control studies and one randomized controlled trial were identified, of which 717 were treated with a combination of TACE and RFA and 785 were treated with SR. Meta-analysis data revealed that TACE plus RFA had significantly better effectiveness on 1.0-y OS(OR = 0.50, p =.009). The major complications(ORcomplications = 1.88, p =.02) after the combined therapy were significantly lower than those after SR. There were three studies that reported the average length of hospital stay. The hospital stay for the SR group vs the combined therapy group was 19.8 ± 8.4 d vs 7.4 ± 2.2 d, respectively(p <.0001); 18.7 ± 4.9 d vs 11.5 ± 6.9 d, respectively(p <.0001); and 16.6 ± 6.7 d vs 8.5 ± 4.1 d, respectively(p <.0001). There was no significant difference in 3.0-or 5.0-y OS and 1.0-, 3.0-, or 5.0-y RFS. | 2 | Cellulose-hydrogen production from corn stalk biomass by anaerobic fermentation显示文摘Cellulose-hydrogen production from corn stalk by lesser panda manure was carried out in batch tests and a 5 L scale-up continuously stirred anaerobic bioreactor(CSABR),respectively.The bio-pretreatment of corn stalk was found most effective at 25℃ using microbe additive of 7.5 g/kg,in which the yields of soluble saccharides(SS) and lactic acid were 212 mg/g-TS and 21 mg/g-TS,respectively.The maximum cumulative H2 yield(176 ml/g-TS) and H2 production rate(14.5 ml/g-TS h-1) were obtained at pH 5.5,36℃ by treating a substrate of 15 g/L.The hydrogen content in biogas was 57.2% and there was no significant methane gas observed.During the optimal period of H2 production,the ORP values stayed in the lower level ranging from -445 mV to -455 mV.The results show that the bio-pretreatment of the raw materials played a vital role in the effective conversion of corn stalk into cellulose-hydrogen by mixed culture. | XING Yan MA HongCui FAN YaoTing HOU HongWei CHEN JingRun | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,8: | 3 |
| 3 | High performance of a unique mesoporous polystyrene-based adsorbent for blood purification显示文摘A multi-functional polystyrene based adsorbent(NKU-9)with a unique mesoporous and a high surface area was prepared by suspension polymerization for removal of therapeutic toxins in blood purification.The adsorbent produced had an almost equal amount of mesopore distribution in the range from 2 to 50 nm.The adsorption of serum toxins with different molecular weights were examined by in vitro adsorption assays and compared with some clinical currently used adsorbents such as HA-330,Cytosorb and BL-300 which are produced by China,America and Japan,respectively.Test results indicated that the adsorption rate for pentobarbital by NKU-9 was 81.24%which is nearly as high as HA-330(81.44%).The latter adsorbent is currently used for acute detoxification treatment in China.To reach adsorption equilibrium,NKU-9 was faster than HA-330,which implies short treatment time.For the removal of middle molecular toxins such as b2-microglobulin(98.88%),NKU-9 performed better adsorptive selectivity than Cytosorb(92.80%).In addition,NKU-9 showed high performance for the removal of albumin-bound toxins(e.g.,bilirubin),and its adsorption rate for total bilirubin(80.79%)in plasma was 8.4%higher than that of anion exchange resin BL-300 which is currently used to eliminate bilirubin in clinic.Therefore,our results indicate that the newly developed adsorbent with a wide distribution and almost equal amount of mesopores is a multifunctional adsorbent for high efficient removal of serum toxins with different molecular weights which might be an excellent blood purification adsorbent especially to treat diseases that conventional medical methods are low or not efficient. | Jian Chen Wenyan Han Jie Chen Wenhui Zong Weichao Wang Yue Wang Guanghui Cheng Chunran Li Lailiang Ou Yaoting Yu | 2017 | Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,1: | 3 |
| 4 | Bioresponsive nanotherapy for preventing dental caries by inhibiting multispecies cariogenic biofilms显示文摘Early childhood caries(ECC)is a public healthcare concern that greatly reduces the quality of life of young children.As a leading factor of ECC,cariogenic biofilms are composed of acidogenic/aciduric pathogens and extracellular polysaccharides(EPSs),creating an acidic and protected microenvironment.Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy(aPDT)is a noninvasive,painless,and efficient therapeutic approach that is suitable for treating ECC.However,due to the hyperfine structure of cariogenic biofilms,most photosensitizers(PSs)could not access and penetrate deeply in biofilms,which dramatically hamper their efficiency in the clinic.Herein,bioresponsive nanoparticle loaded with chlorin e6(MPP-Ce6)is developed,which largely increases the penetration depth(by over 75%)and retention(by over 100%)of PS in the biofilm compared with free Ce6.Furthermore,MPP-Ce6-mediated aPDT not only kills the bacteria in preformed biofilms but also inhibits multispecies biofilm formation.A rampant caries model is established to mimic ECC in vivo,where the population of cariogenic bacteria is decreased to 10%after MPP-Ce6-mediated aPDT.Importantly,the number and severity of carious lesions are efficiently reduced via Keyes’scoring and micro-CT analysis.This simple but effective strategy can serve as a promising approach for daily oral hygiene in preventing ECC. | Danfeng Liu Xianbin Ma Yaoting Ji Rourong Chen Shuhui Zhou Hantao Yao Zichen Zhang Mengjie Ye Zhigang Xu Minquan Du | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,8: | 2 |

| 19 | 动脉持续灌注化疗与静脉全身化疗治疗中晚期胰腺癌的疗效分析(英文)显示文摘Objective: To compare the curative effectiveness of continuous transarterial infusion chemotherapy and systemic venous chemotherapy in treating patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, and to evaluate the value of selective continu-ous transarterial infusion chemotherapy in treating advanced pancreatic cancer. Methods: Of the 51 patients with advanced pancreatic cancer receiving chemotherapy with gemcitabine and 5-fluorouracil, 25 patients were treated with selective con-tinuous transarterial infusion chemotherapy, 26 were treated with systemic venous chemotherapy, and curative effective-ness was analyzed retrospectively. Curative effectiveness included tumor volume, clinical benefit response (CBR), acute and subacute toxic reactions of antitumor drugs, survival rate and median survival time. Results: The objective effective rate in transarterial group was 32.0% versus 23.1% in systemic group without any significant difference (P = 0.475). Clinical benefit rates in transarterial group and systemic group were 80.0% and 50.0% respectively (P = 0.025). The 6-, 9-and 12-month accumulated survival rates and median survival time in transarterial group were higher than those of the systemic group (P = 0.002), the differences were statistically significant. However, the adverse reactions between the two groups were not statistically significant.
