1A DC Grid Benchmark Model for Studies of Interconnection of Power Systems显示文摘Reducing carbon emissions in the power sector is critical for transitioning to a sustainable and low-carbon future.Estimating carbon efficiency of demand side response(DSR)in the power system is an important step towards realizing potential environmental benefits.Marginal emission factor(MEF)is an effective tool for estimating incremental changes in carbon emissions as a result of a change in demand.However,estimation methods currently used for evaluating MEF can be improved upon,specifically,by factoring in the ramp-rate constraint of generators in the fuel cost based merit order dispatch.In this paper is described a new method for MEF assessment under ramp-rate constraints;the method is then compared with two conventional estimations in a British power system.Three fuel price scenarios are used to conduct a sensitivity analysis of MEFs to fuel prices.Conclusions are drawn that can pave the way for future improvements in estimating MEF in power systems.Ting An Xiaoxin Zhou Congda Han Yanan Wu Zhiyuan He Hui Pang Guangfu Tang 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,4:17
2Ultrastructure of neuronal-like cells differentiated from adult adipose-derived stromal cells显示文摘β-mercaptoethanol induces in vitro adult adipose-derived stromal cells(ADSCs) to differentiate into neurons.However,the ultrastructural features of the differentiated neuronal-like cells remain unknown.In the present study,inverted phase contrast microscopy was utilized to observe β-mercaptoethanol-induced differentiation of neuronal-like cells from human ADSCs,and immunocytochemistry and real-time polymerase chain reaction were employed to detect expression of a neural stem cells marker(nestin),a neuronal marker(neuron-specific enolase),and a glial marker(glial fibrillary acidic protein).In addition,ultrastructure of neuronal-like cells was observed by transmission election microscopy.Results revealed highest expression rate of nestin and neuron-specific enolase at 3 and 5 hours following induced differentiation;cells in the 5-hour induction group exhibited a neuronal-specific structure,i.e.,Nissl bodies.However,when induction solution was replaced by complete culture medium after 8-hour induction,the differentiated cells reverted to the fibroblast-like morphology from day 1.These results demonstrate that β-mercaptoethanol-induced ADSCs induced differentiation into neural stem cells,followed by morphology of neuronal-like cells.However,this differentiation state was not stable.Changqing Ye Xiaodong Yuan Hui Liu Yanan Cai 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,19:16

4A New Species of the Genus Xenophrys(Amphibia: Anura: Megophryidae) from Libo County, Guizhou, China显示文摘A new species of the genus Xenophrys is described from a karst cave environment of Libo County, Guizhou Province, Southern China. The new species, Xenophrys liboensis sp. nov., is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters: 1) tympanum distinct; 2) vomerine teeth present; 3) the length of lower arm and hand larger than the half of snout-vent; 4) heels overlapped slightly when the flexed legs are held at right angles to the body axis; 5) toe tips with rudimentary webs and without grooves; 6) dermal fringes moderate; 7) tubercles on the dorsum forming an X-shaped weak ridge; 8) horn-like tubercle at the edge of the upper eyelid distinct; 9) color of the iris in life is brown. In Bayesian phylogenetic analysis of 22 species of Xenophrys, all the individuals of X. liboensis sp. nov. clustered into a monophyletic clade with high posterior probabilities. In addition, the ranges of genetic divergences of X. liboensis sp. nov. with other species were interspecific rather than intraspecific. 8Hypoxia-stressed cardiomyocytes promote early cardiac differentiation of cardiac stem cells through HIF-1α/Jagged1/Notch1 signaling显示文摘Hypoxia is beneficial for the differentiation of stem cells transplanted for myocardial injury,but mechanisms underlying this benefit remain unsolved. Here, we report the impact of hypoxia-induced Jagged1 expression in cardiomyocytes(CMs) for driving the differentiation of cardiac stem cells(CSCs).Forced hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α) expression and physical hypoxia(5% O_2) treatment could induce Jagged1 expression in neonatal rat CMs. Pharmacological inhibition of HIF-1α by YC-1 attenuated hypoxia-promoted Jagged1 expression in CMs. An ERK inhibitor(PD98059), but not inhibitors of JNK(SP600125), Notch(DAPT), NF-κB(PTDC), JAK(AG490), or STAT3(Stattic) suppressed hypoxiainduced Jagged1 protein expression in CMs. c-Kit^+ CSCs isolated from neonatal rat hearts using a magnetic-activated cell sorting method expressed GATA4, SM22α or vWF, but not Nkx2.5 and cTnI.Moreover, 87.3% of freshly isolated CSCs displayed Notch1 receptor expression. Direct co-culture of CMs with BrdU-labeled CSCs enhanced CSCs differentiation, as evidenced by an increased number of BrdU^+/Nkx2.5^+ cells, while intermittent hypoxia for 21 days promoted co-culture-triggered differentiation of CSCs into CM-like cells. 10A New Species of the Genus Rhacophorus (Anura: Rhacophoridae) from Dabie Mountains in East China显示文摘A new species of rhacophorid of the genus Rhacophorus is described from the Dabie Mountains of west Anhui,east China.The new species,Rhacophorus zhoukaiyae sp.nov.is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters: 1) the ventral surface and front-and-rear of the femur is paler yellowish and decorated with irregular grayish blotching,and without obvious spots on the dorsum of the hand and foot webbing; 2) the outer metatarsal tubercle is small; 3) outer fingers are half-webbed and outer toes two third webbed; 4) the skin on the dorsum is smooth and without compressed warts; 5) the throat,chest and belly are pure paler yellowish; 6) the dorsal part of the fingers and toes are grayish-white; 7) the iris is golden-yellow.In addition,the phylogenetic tree showed that all the individuals of R.zhoukaiyae sp.nov.clustered into one distinct clade which suggested the validity of this species.This results could also be used to the support of species delimitation.Currently,this species is known only from mid-elevation montane evergreen forest in the Dabie Mountains of west Anhui,China.Tao PAN Yanan ZHANG Hui WANG Jun WU Xing KANG Lifu QIAN Kai LI Yu ZHANG Jinyun CHEN Dingqi RAO Jianping JIANG Baowei ZHANG 2017Asian Herpetological Research2017,18,1:5
11Concise and efficient direct-view generation of arbitrary cylindrical vector beams by a vortex half-wave plate显示文摘A concise, efficient, and practical direct-view scheme is presented to generate arbitrary cylindrical vector(CV)beams, including CV beams, vortex beams, and cylindrical vector vortex(CVV) beams, by a vortex half-wave plate(VHP). Six kinds of first-order and other high-order CV beams, such as azimuthally polarized(AP) beams, antivortex radial polarization mode beams, and three-order AP beams, are formed by simply rotating a half-wave plate. The Stokes parameters and double-slit interference of multitype CV beams are investigated in detail.The polarization parameters, including degree of polarization, polarization azimuth, and ellipticity, are obtained,which demonstrates the efficient generation of CV beams. In addition, the double-slit interference experiment is introduced in the setup, and fringe misplacement and tilt appear for CVV beams, in which the misplacement number M is 2P+1 for P ≤ 2 and 2P-1 for P ≥ 3, where P is the polarization order number, and the fringe tilt offset is positively related to the topological charge number l of CVV beams. In addition, new types of VHPs can be formed by cascading two or more VHPs when the types of available VHPs are limited, assisting in more flexible generation of multitype CV beams. 13An Integrated Map of Soybean Physical Map and Genetic Map显示文摘Soybean is a major crop in the world, and it is a main source of plant proteins and oil. A lot of soybean genetic maps and physical maps have been constructed, but there are no integrated map between soybean physical map and genetic map. In this study, soybean genome sequence data, released by JGI (US Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute), had been downloaded. With the software Blast 2.2.16, a total of 161 super sequences were mapped on the soybean public genetic map to construct an integrated map. The length of these super sequences accounted for 73.08% of all the genome sequence. 15The calibration and initial results of the HeI D3 line flash spectrum obtained during the 2008 total solar eclipse显示文摘The flash spectra in the HeI D3 line were obtained during the 2008 total solar eclipse. This paper describes the instrument and the calibration of the obtained flash spectrum, and presents our initial results. The average integrated intensity is Eave = 8.13×1013 erg·cm-1· s-1·ster-1 at h = 1100 km, which confirms that the HeI D3 emission is negatively correlated with the solar activity. 16In situ self-assembled organoid for osteochondral tissue regeneration with dual functional units显示文摘The regeneration of hierarchical osteochondral units is challenging due to difficulties in inducing spatial,directional and controllable differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)into cartilage and bone compartments.Emerging organoid technology offers new opportunities for osteochondral regeneration.In this study,we developed gelatin-based microcryogels customized using hyaluronic acid(HA)and hydroxyapatite(HYP),respectively for inducing cartilage and bone regeneration(denoted as CH-Microcryogels and OS-Microcryogels)through in vivo self-assembly into osteochondral organoids.The customized microcryogels showed good cytocompatibility and induced chondrogenic and osteogenic differentiation of MSCs,while also demonstrating the ability to self-assemble into osteochondral organoids with no delamination in the biphasic cartilage-bone structure.Analysis by mRNA-seq showed that CH-Microcryogels promoted chondrogenic differentiation and inhibited inflammation,while OS-Microcryogels facilitated osteogenic differentiation and suppressed the immune response,by regulating specific signaling pathways.Finally,the in vivo engraftment of pre-differentiated customized microcryogels into canine osteochondral defects resulted in the spontaneous assembly of an osteochondral unit,inducing simultaneous regeneration of both articular cartilage and subchondral bone.In conclusion,this novel approach for generating self-assembling osteochondral organoids utilizing tailor-made microcryogels presents a highly promising avenue for advancing the field of tissue engineering.Zhen Yang Bin Wang Wei Liu Xiaoke Li Kaini Liang Zejun Fan Jiao Jiao Li Yudi Niu Zihao He Hui Li Du Wang Jianjing Lin Yanan Du Jianhao Lin Dan Xing 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,9:2

19Marine bacteria inhibit corrosion of steel via synergistic biomineralization显示文摘Metal corrosion often results in incalculable economic loss and significant safety hazards. Although numerous traditional methods have been used to mitigate the issue, such as coating and corrosion inhibitors, they are environmentally unfriendly and difficult to maintain. Therefore, in this study, an environmental approach was taken to protect steels from corrosion in a multi-species bacterial environment via synergistic biomineralization. The marine bacterium Pseudoalteromonas lipolytica mixed with Bacillus subtilis or Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains offered extraordinary corrosion protection for steel.The surface characterization and electrochemical tests showed that the biomineralized film generated by the mixed bacteria was more compact and protective than that induced by a single bacterium. Herein,we found that the synergistic mechanisms were rather different for the different bacterial groups. For Pseudoalteromonas lipolytica and Bacillus subtilis group, the related mechanisms were due to the increase of pH in the medium, secretion of carbonic anhydrase. As for Pseudoalteromonas lipolytica and Pseudomonas aeruginosa group, the synergistic mechanism was attributed to the inhibiting corrosive bacteria in biofilm by the growth advantage of Pseudoalteromonas lipolytica. 20Low-cost polymer acceptors with noncovalently fused-ring backbones for efficient all-polymer solar cells显示文摘The polymerization of fused-ring acceptors(FRAs) to afford their corresponding polymeric acceptors for high-performance all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs) has achieved remarkable progress in the past few years.However,due to the high degree of synthetic complexity for the monomer,the high-cost of these polymeric acceptors may limit their commercial applications.Thus,it is urgent to develop inexpensive and high-performance polymeric acceptors for all-PSCs.Herein,two novel polymeric acceptors(PBTzO and PBTzO-2F) have been designed and synthesized by copolymerization of noncovalently fused ring acceptors(NFRAs),which were employed in all-PSCs for the first time.Upon introducing the “noncovalently conformational locks(NoCLs)” in the backbone and selective fluorination of the end-group,photophysical and electrical properties,and solidstate packing properties of the NFRAs have been rationally tuned.As a result,the PBDB-T:PBTzO-2F based devices presented an excellent power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 11.04%,much higher than that of PBTzO based ones due to the increased charge generation and extraction,improved hole transfer and carrier mobilities,and reduced energy loss.More importantly,PBTzO-2F exhibited a much lower synthetic complexity(SC) index and higher figure-of-merit(FOM) values than the high-performance fused-ring acceptor based polymer acceptors(FRA-PAs) due to the simpler structures and more effective synthesis.This contribution provided a novel idea to achieve low-cost and high-performance all-PSCs.Xiaobin Gu Yanan Wei Xingzheng Liu Na Yu Laiyang Li Ziyang Han Jinhua Gao Congqi Li Zhixiang Wei Zheng Tang Xin Zhang Hui Huang 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,5:1
