| 3 | Controlled mechanical assembly of complex 3D mesostructures and strain sensors by tensile buckling显示文摘Recent research establishes methods of controlled mechanical assembly as versatile routes to three-dimensional(3D)mesostructures from patterned 2D films,with demonstrated applicability to a broad range of materials(e.g.,semiconductors,polymers,metals,and their combinations)and length scales(e.g.,from sub-microscale to centimeter scale).Previously reported schemes use pre-stretched elastomeric substrates as assembly platforms to induce compressive buckling of 2D precursor structures,thereby enabling their controlled transformation into 3D architectures.Here,we introduce tensile buckling as a different,complementary strategy that bypasses the need for a pre-stretched platform,thereby simplifying the assembly process and opening routes to additional classes of 3D geometries unobtainable with compressive buckling.A few basic principles in mechanics serve as guidelines for the design of 2D precursor structures that achieve large out-of-plane motions and associated 3D transformations due to tensile buckling.Experimental and computational studies of nearly 20 examples demonstrate the utility of this approach in the assembly of complex 3D mesostructures with characteristic dimensions from micron to millimeter scales.The results also establish the use of nonlinear mechanics modeling as a mechanism for designing systems that yield desired 3D geometries.A strain sensor that offers visible readout and large detectable strain range through a collection of mechanically triggered electrical switches and LEDs serves as an application example. | Xiaogang Guo Xueju Wang Dapeng Ou Jilong Ye Wenbo Pang Yonggang Huang John A.Rogers Yihui Zhang | 2018 | npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1: | 4 |

| 5 | Compression and shearing force on kernel rupture in shelling fresh lotus seeds显示文摘The mechanical properties of fresh lotus seeds are still poorly understood,which complicates the design of mechanical shelling machinery.Therefore,this work carried out four-factor orthogonal tests to determine the maximum permitted compressive force and minimum necessary shearing force to shell fresh lotus seeds without rupturing the kernel.It was found that the mean compression force that cracked the fresh lotus seed and led to kernel rupture was 213.03 N.Both the compressive force and the seed deformation upon kernel rupture were affected,in descending order of significance,by loading mode,seed grade,loading rate,and seed standing time.On the other hand,the shearing force needed to shell the seeds had a mean value of 7.84 N,far less than the compressive force that cracked the seed shell.The shearing force was affected,in descending order of significance,by seed standing time,tip angle of cutter blade,and loading rate,but not significantly affected by seed grade.The results suggested that mechanical shelling of fresh lotus seeds should ideally be carried out for fresh lotus seeds with a standing time of no more than 6 h using a cutter blade with an angle of about 40°at a loading rate of 30-90 mm/min. | Jincheng He Zhiying Tao Shihua Liang Dapeng Ye | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,1: | 1 |

| 8 | Delaminated layered double hydroxide delivers DNA molecules as sandwich nanostructure into cells via a non-endocytic pathway显示文摘Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) are effective molecular carriers in cytological research, gene therapy,and transgenic applications. Herein, we investigated the internalization behavior of the LDH-DNA bioconjugates via a microscopic approach and analyzed the internalization pathway by dissipative particle dynamics(DPD) simulations. We experimentally found that LDH can efficiently carry DNA into the nucleus of cell in BY-2 suspension cells. Furthermore, atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrated that the LDH-DNA bioconjugates mainly exist as a DNA-LDH-DNA sandwich complex,while the LDH-DNA-LDH sandwich complex and DNA-LDH complex cannot be excluded. The DPD simulations further indicated that only the DNA-LDH-DNA sandwich structure could penetrate the plasma membrane(PM), while PM is impermeable to the LDH-DNA-LDH sandwich complex and the DNA-LDH complex. This work provides novel perspective for understanding the membrane penetration mechanism of LDH nano-sheets and new insights into the design of novel molecular delivery systems.ó 2017 Science China Press. | 9 | The genetic relationship between Habo alkaline intrusion and its surrounding deposits, Yunnan Province, China: geological and S–Pb isotopic evidences显示文摘The Habo alkaline intrusion, which is located in the south of the Sanjiang area, Yunnan Province, China, is a typical Cenozoic alkaline intrusion. There are a series of small to medium-sized Au and Pb–(Zn) deposits around this intrusion. Those deposits are spatially associated with the Habo alkaline intrusion.(1) The d^(34) S values of sulfides from Au deposits range from-1.91 % to 2.69 %, which are similar to those of Pb–(Zn) deposits(-3.82 % to-0.05 %) and both indicate a much greater contribution from magma.(2) The Habo alkaline intrusion has relatively homogeneous Pb isotopic compositions with^(206)Pb/^(204) Pb ranging from 18.608 to 18.761,^(207)Pb/^(204) Pb from 15.572 to15.722 and^(208)Pb/^(204) Pb from 38.599 to 39.110. These Pb isotope ratios are similar to those of Au deposits, whose^(206)Pb/^(204) Pb range from 18.564 to 18.734,^(207)Pb/^(204) Pb from15.582 to 15.738 and^(208)Pb/^(204) Pb from 38.592 to 39.319.Pb ratios in both the intrusion and Au deposits suggest that Pb mainly derived from the depth, probably represents a mixture of mantle and crust. Pb–(Zn) deposits, however,show a decentralized trait, and most of them are similar to that of the alkaline intrusion with^(206)Pb/^(204) Pb ranging from18.523 to 18.648,^(207)Pb/^(204) Pb from 15.599 to 15.802, and^(208)Pb/^(204) Pb from 38.659 to 39.206.(3) In the plumbotectonic diagram^(207)Pb/^(204) Pb versus^(206)Pb/^(204) Pb, almost all of Au and Pb–(Zn) deposits have the same projection area with the Habo alkaline intrusion, which indicates that thosedeposits almost share the same source with the alkaline intrusion.(4) Isotopic age of the Habo alkaline intrusion is36–33 Ma, which is similar to that of Beiya, whose orerelated alkaline porphyries age is 38–31 Ma and molybdenite Re–Os age is 36.9 Ma. It is found that the selffocusing effect makes a significant contribution to the formation of the first focusing point, while the second focusing point is caused by self-refocusing. The position of the first focusing point is in good agreement with the value predicted by a model developed by Chin and his co-workers. | 13 | Correlating the electronic structures of metallic/semiconducting MoTe_(2)interface to its atomic structures显示文摘Contact interface properties are important in determining the performances of devices that are based on atomically thin two-dimensional(2D)materials,especially for those with short channels.Understanding the contact interface is therefore important to design better devices.Herein,we use scanning transmission electron microscopy,electron energy loss spectroscopy,and first-principles calculations to reveal the electronic structures within the metallic(1T)-semiconducting(2H)MoTe_(2)coplanar phase boundary across a wide spectral range and correlate its properties to atomic structures.We find that the 2 H-MoTe_(2)excitonic peaks cross the phase boundary into the 1 T phase within a range of approximately 150 nm.The1 T-MoTe_(2)crystal field can penetrate the boundary and extend into the 2H phase by approximately two unit-cells.The plasmonic oscillations exhibit strong angle dependence,that is a red-shift ofπ+σ(approximately 0.3–1.2 e V)occurs within 4 nm at 1 T/2 H-MoTe_(2)boundaries with large tilt angles,but there is no shift at zero-tilted boundaries.These atomic-scale measurements reveal the structure–property relationships of the 1 T/2 H-MoTe_(2)boundary,providing useful information for phase boundary engineering and device development based on 2 D materials. | Bo Han Chen Yang Xiaolong Xu Yuehui Li Ruochen Shi Kaihui Liu Haicheng Wang Yu Ye Jing Lu Dapeng Yu Peng Gao | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,2: | 0 |
| 14 | Brain circuits for retching-like behavior显示文摘Nausea and vomiting are important defensive responses to cope with pathogens and toxins that invade the body.The nucleus of the solitary tract(NTS)is important for initiating these responses.However,the molecular heterogeneities and cellular diversities of the NTS occlude a better understanding of these defensive responses.Here,we constructed the single-nucleus transcriptomic atlas of NTS cells and found multiple populations of NTS neurons that may be involved in these defensive responses.Among these,we identified Calbindin1-positive(Calb1^(+))NTS neurons that are molecularly distinct from Tac1^(+)neurons.These Calb1^(+)neurons are critical for nausea and retching induced by cereulide;an emetic toxin secreted by Bacillus Cereus.Strikingly,we found that cereulide can directly modulate vagal sensory neurons that innervate Calb1^(+)NTS neurons,a novel mechanism distinct from that for nausea and retching induced by Staphylococcal enterotoxin A.Together,our transcriptomic atlas of NTS neurons and the functional analyses revealed the neural mechanism for cereulide-induced retching-like behavior.These results demonstrate the molecular and cellular complexities in the brain that underlie defensive responses to the diversities of pathogens and toxins. | Lifang Huo Zhimin Ye Meiling Liu Ziqing He Meizhu Huang Dapeng Li Qian Wu Qian Wang Xiaoqun Wang Peng Cao Ji Dong Congping Shang | 2024 | National Science Review2024,11,1: | 0 |

| 18 | A literature review and integrated framework for the determinants of crowdfunding success显示文摘Crowdfunding is an innovative strategy for financing a new business venture from the general public instead of seeking funds in traditional ways,such as issuing bonds or bank lending.This study aims to identify the determinants affecting the success of a crowdfunding campaign and how different measurements for crowdfunding success,different crowdfunding models,and the selection of subdivided determinants influ-ence the determinants’impacts on crowdfunding success.We set the disciplines in the search strategy to select studies related to crowdfunding success.Ultimately,94 empirical papers are selected to reveal the different findings for the determinants of crowdfunding success;based on this information,we construct an integrated framework for future research.There has been much research on project-and creator-related factors;however,many of these factors have inconsistent relationships with crowdfunding success due to varying measurements of success.In particular,different measurements used within the same study for determinants or crowdfunding success may also produce inconsistent results.In addition,different crowdfunding models of a project have been found to induce additional findings.Our review of the determinants of crowdfunding success and the definitions of the determinants,as well as the proposed integrated framework,can help focus future work on relatively new or unique determinants rarely addressed in the existing literature.This work provides practical implications for both theory and practice,and directions for future research. | Lingfei Deng Qiang Ye DaPeng Xu Wenjun Sun Guangxin Jiang | 2022 | Financial Innovation2022,8,1: | 0 |
| 19 | Application of UAV-Based Imaging and Deep Learning in Assessment of Rice Blast Resistance显示文摘Rice blast is regarded as one of the major diseases of rice.Screening rice genotypes with high resistance to rice blast is a key strategy for ensuring global food security.Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV)-based imaging,coupled with deep learning,can acquire high-throughput imagery related to rice blast infection.In this study,we developed a segmented detection model(called RiceblastSegMask)for rice blast detection and resistance evaluation.The feasibility of different backbones and target detection models was further investigated.RiceblastSegMask is a two-stage instance segmentation model,comprising an image-denoising backbone network,a feature pyramid,a trinomial tree fine-grained feature extraction combination network,and an image pixel codec module.The results showed that the model combining the image-denoising and fine-grained feature extraction based on the Swin Transformer and the feature pixel matching feature labels with the trinomial tree recursive algorithm performed the best.The overall accuracy for instance segmentation of RiceblastSegMask reached 97.56%,and it demonstrated a satisfactory accuracy of 90.29%for grading unique resistance to rice blast.These results indicated that low-altitude remote sensing using UAV,in conjunction with the proposed RiceblastSegMask model,can efficiently calculate the extent of rice blast infection,offering a new phenotypic tool for evaluating rice blast resistance on a field scale in rice breeding programs. | LIN Shaodan YAO Yue LI Jiayi LI Xiaobin MA Jie WENG Haiyong CHENG Zuxin YE Dapeng | 2023 | Rice science2023,30,6: | 0 |
