| 1 | Seismic damage of highway bridges during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Many highway bridges were severely damaged or completely collapsed during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake.A fi eld investigation was carried out in the strongly affected areas and over 320 bridges were examined.Damage to some representative highway bridges is briefly described and a preliminary analysis of the probable causes of the damage is presented in this paper.The most common damage included shear-flexural failure of the pier columns,expansion joint failure,shear key failure,and girder sliding in the transversal or longitudinal directions due to weak connections between girder and bearings.Lessons learned from this earthquake are described and recommendations related to the design of curved and skewed bridges,design of bearings and devices to prevent girder collapse,and ductility of bridge piers are presented.Suggestions for future seismic design and retrofi tting techniques for bridges in moderate to severe earthquake areas are also proposed. | Han Qiang Du Xiuli Liu Jingbo Li Zhongxian Li Liyun Zhao Jianfeng | 2009 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2009,8,2: | 60 |

| 3 | Interface issues of lithium metal anode for high-energy batteries: Challenges, strategies, and perspectives显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is considered as one of the most promising anode materials for next-generation high-energy-density storage systems.However,the practical application of Li metal anode is hindered by interfacial instability and air instability due to the highly reactivity of Li metal.Unstable interface in Li metal batteries(LMBs)directly dictates Li dendrite growth,“dead Li”and low Coulombic efficiency,resulting in inferior electrochemical performance of LMBs and even safety issues.In addition,its sensitivity to ambient air leads to the severe corrosion of Li metal anode,high requirements of production and storage,and increased manufacturing cost.Plenty of efforts in recent years have overcome many bottlenecks in these fields and hastened the practical applications of high-energy-density LMBs.In this review,we focus on emerging methods of these two aspects to fulfill a stable and low cost electrode.In this perspective,design artificial solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers,construct three-dimensional conductive current collectors,optimize electrolytes,employ solid-state electrolytes,and modify separators are summarized to be propitious to ameliorate interfacial stability.Meanwhile,ex situ/in situ formed protective layers are highlighted in favor of heightening air stability.Finally,several possible directions for the future research on advanced Li metal anode are addressed. | Yiyao Han Bo Liu Zhen Xiao Wenkui Zhang Xiuli Wang Guoxiang Pan Yang Xia Xinhui Xia Jiangping Tu | 2021 | InfoMat2021,3,2: | 11 |
| 4 | Experimental study of hollow rectangular bridge column performance under vertical and cyclically bilateral loads显示文摘To investigate the seismic performance of hollow reinforced concrete(RC) bridge columns of rectangular cross section under constant axial load and cyclically biaxial bending,five specimens were tested.A parametric study is carried out for different axial load ratios,longitudinal reinforcement ratios and lateral reinforcement ratios.The experimental results showed that all tested specimens failed in the flexural failure mode and their ultimate performance was dominated by flexural capacity,which is represented by the rupture/buckling of tensile longitudinal rebars at the bottom of the bridge columns.Biaxial force and displacement hysteresis loops showed significant stiffness and strength degradations,and the pinching effect and coupling interaction effect of both directions severely decrease the structural seismic resistance.However,the measured ductility coefficient varying from 3.5 to 5.7 and the equivalent viscous damping ratio varying from 0.19 and 0.26 can meet the requirements of the seismic design.The hollow RC rectangular bridge columns with configurations of lateral reinforcement in this study have excellent performance under bidirectional earthquake excitations,and may be considered as a substitute for current hollow RC rectangular section configurations described in the Guideline for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges(JTG/T B02-01-2008).The length of the plastic hinge region was found to approach one sixth of the hollow RC rectangular bridge column height for all specimen columns,and it was much less than those specified in the current JTG/T.Thus,the length of the plastic hinge region is more concentrated for RC rectangular hollow bridge columns. | Han Qiang Du Xiuli Yihui Zhou George C. | 5 | Local icariin application enhanced periodontal tissue regeneration and relieved local inflammation in a minipig model of periodontitis显示文摘Periodontitis is an inflammatory autoimmune disease. Treatment should alleviate inflammation, regulate the immune reaction and promote periodontal tissue regeneration. Icariin is the main active ingredient of Epimedii Folium, and it is a promising compound for the enhancement of mesenchymal stem cell function, promotion of bone formation, inhibition of bone resorption, alleviation of inflammation and regulation of immunity. The study investigated the effect of icariin on periodontal tissue regeneration in a minipig model of periodontitis. The minipig model of periodontitis was established. Icariin was injected locally. The periodontal clinical assessment index, a computed tomography(CT) scan, histopathology and enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA)were used to evaluate the effects of icariin. Quantitative analysis results 12 weeks post-injection demonstrated that probing depth,gingival recession, attachment loss and alveolar bone regeneration values were(3.72 ± 1.18) mm vs.(6.56 ± 1.47) mm,(1.67 ± 0.59)mm vs.(2.38 ± 0.61) mm,(5.56 ± 1.29) mm vs.(8.61 ± 1.72) mm, and(25.65 ± 5.13) mm3 vs.(9.48 ± 1.78) mm3 in the icariin group and0.9% NaCl group, respectively. The clinical assessment, CT scan, and histopathology results demonstrated significant enhancement of periodontal tissue regeneration in the icariin group compared to the 0.9% NaCl group. The ELISA results suggested that the concentration of interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) in the icariin group was downregulated compared to the 0.9% NaCl group, which indicates that local injection of icariin relieved local inflammation in a minipig model of periodontitis. Local injection of icariin promoted periodontal tissue regeneration and exerted anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory function. | 6 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 8 | Dynamic changes of phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate levels modulate H^(+)-ATPase and Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter activities to maintain ion homeostasis in Arabidopsis under salt stress显示文摘Plant metabolites are dynamically modified and distributed in response to environmental changes.How-ever,it is poorly understood how metabolic change functions in plant stress responses.Maintaining ion ho-meostasis under salt stress requires coordinated activation of two types of central regulators:plasma membrane(PM)H^(+)-ATPase and Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter.In this study,we used a bioassay-guided isolation approach to identify endogenous small molecules that affect PM H^(+)-ATPase and Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter activities and identified phosphatidylinositol(PI),which inhibits PM H^(+)-ATPase activity under non-stress conditions in Arabidopsis by directly binding to the C terminus of the PM H^(+)-ATPase AHA2.Under salt stress,the phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate-to-phosphatidylinositol(PI4P-to-PI)ratio increased,and PI4P bound and activated the PM Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter.PI prefers binding to the inactive form of PM H^(+)-ATPase,while PI4P tends to bind to the active form of the Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter.Consistent with this,pis1 mutants,with reduced levels of PI,displayed increased PM H^(+)-ATPase activity and salt stress toler-ance,while the pi4kβ1 mutant,with reduced levels of PI4P,displayed reduced PM Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter activity and salt stress tolerance.Collectively,our results reveal that the dynamic change between PI and PI4P in response to salt stress in Arabidopsis is crucial for maintaining ion homeostasis to protect plants from un-favorable environmental conditions. | Yongqing Yang Xiuli Han Liang Ma Yujiao Wu Xiao Liu Haiqi Fu Guoyong Liu Xiaoguang Lei Yan Guo | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,12: | 4 |
| 9 | Detection of TNT by a molecularly imprinted polymer film-based surface plasmon resonance sensor显示文摘A surface plasmon resonance(SPR) sensor using a molecularly imprinted polymer(MIP) film as a recognition element for detection of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene(TNT) was developed.The TNT-imprinted polymer film was prepared by thermo initiated polymerization on the bare Au surface of an SPR sensor chip.Template TNT molecules were quickly removed with an organic solution of acetonitrile/acetic acid(9:1,v/v),causing a shift of 0.7° in SPR angle.The limit of detection for TNT was demonstrated to be as low as 1×10-8 mol/L.In the concentration range of 1×10-8-1×10-5 mol/L,the change of SPR angle was linear with the negative logarithm of TNT concentration,Selectivity studies showed that the SPR sensor had no response to TNT analogues 2,4,5-trinitrotoluene and 1,3,5-trinitrohexahydro-1,3,5-triazine at a concentration of 1×10-4 mol/L.The results suggest that the SPR sensor combined with a MIP film has the advantages of high sensitivity and selectivity,and long-term stability toward the analyte TNT. | BAO Han WEI TianXin LI XiuLi ZHAO Zhe CUI He ZHANG Peng | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,17: | 4 |

| 12 | The synthesis, deprotection and properties of poly(γ-benzyl-L-glutamate)显示文摘With dicy- clohexylamine as initiator, the influence of monomer concentration, and reaction temperature and time on the polymerization of BLG NCA was examined. Three reagents were used for the deprotection of benzyl groups in PBLG, including hydrobromic acid/acetic acid (33 wt.%), NaOH aqueous solution and trimethylsilyl iodide (TMSI). Through examining the molecular weight of PLGA obtained using different deprotection methods, it was revealed that TMSI could minimize chain cleavage in the process of deprotection and retain the degree of polymerization. The biocompatibilities of PBLG obtained using different initiators were evaluated by a live/dead assay against L929 fibroblast cells. The in vitro cytotoxicities of PLGA obtained using different deprotecting agents were evaluated by a methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. | 13 | Fabrication of in situ Ti_2AlN/TiAl Composites by Reaction Hot Pressing and Their Properties显示文摘Ti2AlN/TiAl composites with different volume fractions of reinforcement were successfully fabricated by hot-pressing sintering method(reaction hot pressing) using Ti, Al and TiN powders as starting materials. The synthesis process includes four stages: first, the reactions between Al and Ti powers and between Al and TiN powders respectively occur and result in TiAl3 phase; secondly, Al powders in the sample are exhausted; the remaining Ti cores react with TiAl3 layer to form Ti-Al intermetallics; moreover, a few Ti2AlN particles precipitate from the TiAl3 phase; thirdly, Ti-Al intermetallics react with the remaining Ti cores to form Ti3Al and TiAl phases. TiAl phase and original TiN powers are in direct contact each other; finally, the residual TiN powers react with TiAl phase and result in a plenty of Ti2AlN phase. | 17 | Responses of Soil Bacterial Diversity to Fertilization are Driven by Local Environmental Context Across China显示文摘Soil microbial diversity is extremely vulnerable to fertilization,which is one of the main anthropogenic activities associated with global changes.Yet we know little about how and why soil microbial diversity responds to fertilization across contrasting local ecological contexts.This knowledge is fundamental for predicting changes in soil microbial diversity in response to ongoing global changes.We analyzed soils from ten 20-year field fertilization(organic and/or inorganic)experiments across China and found that the national-scale responses of soil bacterial diversity to fertilization are dependent on ecological context.In acidic soils from regions with high precipitation and soil fertility,inorganic fertilization can result in further acidification,resulting in negative impacts on soil bacterial diversity.In comparison,organic fer-tilization causes a smaller disturbance to soil bacterial diversity.Despite the overall role of environmental contexts in driving soil microbial diversity,a small group of bacterial taxa were found to respond to fer-tilization in a consistent way across contrasting regions throughout China.Taxa such as Nitrosospira and Nitrososphaera,which benefit from nitrogen fertilizer addition,as well as Chitinophagaceae,Bacilli,and phototrophic bacteria,which respond positively to organic fertilization,could be used as bioindicators for soil fertility in response to fertilization at the national scale.Overall,our work provides new insights into the importance of local environmental context in determining the responses of soil microbial diver-sity to fertilization,and identifies regions with acidic soils wherein soil microbial diversity is more vul-nerable to fertilization at the national scale. | Youzhi Feng Manuel Delgado-Baquerizo Yongguan Zhu Xiaozeng Han Xiaori Han Xiuli Xin Wei Li Zhibing Guo Tinghui Dang Chenhua Li Bo Zhu Zejiang Cai Daming Li Jiabao Zhang | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,5: | 1 |
