The YDA-MKK4/MKK5-MPK3/MPK6 Cascade Functions Downstream of the RGF1-RGI Ligand-Receptor Pair in Regulating Mitotic Activity in Root Apical Meristem显示文摘The mitotic activity of root apical meristem(RAM)is critical to primary root growth and development.Previous studies have identified the roles of ROOT GROWTH FACTOR 1(RGF1),a peptide ligand, and its receptors,RGF1 INSENSITIVEs(RGIs),a clade of five leucine-rich-repeat receptor-like kinases,in promoting cell division in the RAM,which determines the primary root length. However, the downstream signaling components remain elusive. In this study,we identify a complete mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK or MPK)cascade, composed of YDA,MKK4/MKK5,and MPK3/MPK6,that functions downstream of the RGF1-RGI ligand-receptor pair.Similar to the rgi1/2/3/4/5 quintuple mutant,loss-of-function mutants of MPK3 and MPK6,MKK4 and MKK5,or YDA show a short-root phenotype, which is associated with reduced mitotic activity and lower expression of PLETHORA 1(PLT1)/PLT2 in the RAM.Furthermore,MPK3/MPK6 activation in response to exogenous RGF1 treatment is impaired in the rgi1/2/3/4/5 quintuple, yda single, and mkk4 m kk5 double mutants.Epistatic analyses demonstrated that the expression of constitutively active MKK4,MKK5,or YDA driven by the RGI2 promoter can rescue the short-root phenotype of the rgi1/2/3/4/5 mutant.Taken together, these results suggest that the YDA-MKK4/MKK5-MPK3/MPK6 cascade functions downstream of the RGF1-RGI ligand-receptor pair and upstream of PLT1/PLT2 to modulate the stem cell population and primary root growth in Arabidopsis. | Yiming Shao Xinxing Yu Xuwen Xu Yong Li Wenxin Yuan Yan Xu Chuanzao Mao Shuqun Zhang Juan Xu | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,11: | 6
Nonlinear vibration response characteristics of a dual-rotor-bearing system with squeeze film damper显示文摘Rolling bearing and Squeeze Film Damper(SFD)are used in rotor support structures, and most researches on the nonlinear rotor-bearing system are focused on the simple rotor-bearing systems. This work emphasizes the comparative analysis of the influence of SFD on the nonlinear dynamic behavior of the dual-rotor system supported by rolling bearings.Firstly,a reduced dynamic model is established by combining the Finite Element(FE)method and the freeinterface method of component mode synthesis. The proposed model is verified by comparing the natural characteristics obtained from an FE model with those from the experiment. Then, the steady-state vibration responses of the system with or without SFD are solved by the numerical integration method. The influences of the ball bearing clearance, unbalance, centralizing spring stiffness and oil film clearance of SFD on the nonlinear steady-state vibration responses of the dual-rotor system are analyzed. Results show that SFD can effectively suppress the amplitude jump of the dual rotor system sustaining two rotors unbalance excitations. As the ball bearing clearance or unbalance increases, the amplitude jump phenomenon becomes more obvious, the resonance hysteresis phenomenon strengthens or weakens, the resonant peaks shift to the left or the right, respectively.SFD with unreasonable parameters will aggravate the system vibration, the smaller the oil film clearance, the better the damping performance of the SFD,the larger the centralizing spring stiffness is,the larger resonance amplitudes are. | Xinxing MA Hui MA Haiqin QIN Xumin GUO Chenguang ZHAO Mingyue YU | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,10: | 3
Sporophytic control of anther development and male fertility by glucose-6-phosphate/phosphate translocator 1(OsGPT1) in rice显示文摘Coordination between the sporophytic tissue and the gametic pollen within anthers is tightly controlled to achieve the optimal pollen fitness. Glucose-6-phosphate/phosphate translocator(GPT) transports glucose-6-phosphate, a key precursor of starch and/or fatty acid biosynthesis, into plastids. Here, we report the functional characterization of Os GPT1 in the rice anther development and pollen fertility. Pollen grains from homozygous osgpt1 mutant plants fail to accumulate starch granules, resulting in pollen sterility. Genetic analyses reveal a sporophytic effect for this mutation. Os GPT1 is highly expressed in the tapetal layer of rice anther. Degeneration of the tapetum, an important process to provide cellular contents to support pollen development, is impeded in osgpt1 plants. In addition, defective intine and exine are observed in the pollen from osgpt1 plants. Expression levels of multiple genes that are important to tapetum degeneration or pollen wall formation are significantly decreased in osgpt1 anthers. Previously, we reported that At GPT1 plays a gametic function in the accumulation of lipid bodies in Arabidopsis pollen. This report highlights a sporophytic role of Os GPT1 in the tapetum degeneration and pollen development. The divergent functions of Os GPT1 and At GPT1 in pollen development might be a result of their independent evolution after monocots and dicots diverged. | Aili Qu Yan Xu Xinxing Yu Qi Si Xuwen Xu Changhao Liu Liuyi Yang Yueping Zheng Mengmeng Zhang Shuqun Zhang Juan Xu | 2021 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,8: | 1
Flexible,anti-damage,and non-contact sensing electronic skin implanted with MWCNT to block public pathogens contact infection显示文摘If a person comes into contact with pathogens on public facilities, there is a threat of contact(skin/wound)infections.More urgently, there are also reports about COVID-19 coronavirus contact infection, which once again reminds that contact infection is a very easily overlooked disease exposure route.Herein,we propose an innovative implantation strategy to fabricate a multi-walled carbon nanotube/polyvinyl alcohol(MWCNT/PVA,MCP)interpenetrating interface to achieve flexibility,anti-damage,and non-contact sensing electronic skin(E-skin).Interestingly,the MCP E-skin had a fascinating non-contact sensing function, which can respond to the finger approaching 0−20 mm through the spatial weak field. This non-contact sensing can be applied urgently to human–machine interactions in public facilities to block pathogen. The scratches of the fruit knife did not damage the MCP E-skin,and can resist chemical corrosion after hydrophobic treatment. In addition, the MCP E-skin was developed to real-time monitor the respiratory and cough for exercise detection and disease diagnosis.Notably, the MCP E-skin has great potential for emergency applications in times of infectious disease pandemics. | Duan-Chao Wang Hou-Yong Yu Lurong Jiang Dongming Qi Xinxing Zhang Lumin Chen Wentao Lv Weiqiang Xu Kam Chiu Tam | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 1

Iron sites on defective BiOBr nanosheets:Tailoring the molecular oxygen activation for enhanced photocatalytic organic synthesis显示文摘Sunlight-driven activation of molecular oxygen(O_(2))for organic oxidation reactions offers an appealing strategy to cut down the reliance on fossil fuels in chemical industry, yet it remains a great challenge to simultaneously tailor the charge kinetics and promote reactant chemisorption on semiconductor catalysts for enhanced photocatalytic performance.Herein,we report iron sites immobilized on defective BiOBr nanosheets as an efficient and selective photocatalyst for activation of O_(2) to singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)).These Fe^(3+) species anchored by oxygen vacancies can not only facilitate the separation and migration of photogenerated charge carrier, but also serve as active sites for effective adsorption of 02.Moreover,low-temperature phosphorescence spectra combined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and electronic paramagnetic resonance(EPR)spectra under illumination reveal that the Fe species can boost the quantum yield of excited triplet state and accelerate the energy transfer from excited triplet state to adsorbed O2 via a chemical loop of Fe^(3+)/Fe^(2+),thereby achieving highly efficient and selective generation of ^(1)O_(2).As a result, the versatile iron sites on defective BiOBr nanosheets contributes to near-unity conversion rate and selectivity in both aerobic oxidative coupling of amines to imines and sulfoxidation of organic sulfides. This work highlights the significant role of metal sites anchored on semiconductors in regulating the charge/energy transfer during the heterogeneous photocatalytic process, and provides a new angle for designing high-performance photocatalysts. | Xinhui Ye Yu Li Peipei Luo Bingcai He Xinxing Cao Tongbu Lu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 1
In situ TEM observation of neck formation during oriented attachment of PbSe nanocrystals显示文摘Oriented attachment of nanocrystals is an important route to constructing epitaxially-connected nanocrystal superlattices for various applications.During oriented attach me nt of semic on ductor nano crystals, neck can be formed betwee n nan ocrystals and it strongly influe nces the properties of the resulting superlattice. However, the neck formation mechanism is poorly understood. Here,we use in situ liquid cell transmission electro n microscopy(TEM)to directly observe the initiatio n and growth of homoepitaxial n ecks betwee n PbSe nano crystals with atomic details. We find that neck initiatio n occurs slowly(~10 s)whe n two nano crystals approach to each other within an edge-to-edge dista nee of 0.6 nm.During neck initiation,Pb and Se atoms defuse from other facets into the gap, forming'dynamic reversible'filaments.Once the filament(n eck)width is larger than a critical size of 0.9 nm,it gradually(15 s)widens into a 3-nm-wide n eck.The atomic structure of the neck is further obtained using ex situ aberration-corrected seanning TEM imaging.Neck initiation and growth mechanisms are elucidated with density functional theory calculati ons.Our direct unveiling of the atomic pathways of neck formatio n duri ng oriented attach me nt shed light into the fabrication of nanocrystal superlattices with improved structural order and electronic properties. | Yu Wang Xinxing Peng Alex Abelson Bing-Kai Zhang Caroline Qian Peter Ercius Lin-Wang Wang Matt Law Haimei Zheng | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,10: | 1

Analysis on Radar Characteristics of a Short-time Heavy Rainfall Event in Wuchuan County显示文摘Using minute rainfall data of automatic ground station and a variety of products from new generation Doppler weather radar in Wuchuan, the characteristics of a short-time heavy precipitation process on April 23, 2022 were analyzed. The results showed that the appearance of differential reflectivity(ZDR) column and big-value zone of high-elevation ZDR had better indication on short-term heavy rainfall process in Shichao station. Ice phase process played a very important role in particle growth. The storm tracking information product can predict the path of the storm 15 min in advance. The storm stayed and moved less or even turned back to more than two to three scanning volumes in one place, indicating the occurrence of short-term heavy rainfall. One-hour accumulated precipitation(OHP) had a good effect on the estimation of continuous precipitation in a large area where the hourly rainfall exceeded 50 mm for more than two stations. It had the ability to estimate short-term heavy precipitation in areas lacking automatic stations. | Jianfei GAO Xia LI Xinxing WU Yu LI Zirui HUANG | 2022 | Meteorological and Environmental Research2022,13,6: | 0

LncRNA IDH1-AS1 sponges miR-518c-5p to suppress proliferation of epithelial ovarian cancer cell by targeting RMB47显示文摘Long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)IDH1 antisense RNA 1(IDH1-AS1)is involved in the progression of multiple cancers, but its role in epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)is unknown. Therefore,we investigated the expression levels of IDH1-AS1 in EOC cells and normal ovarian epithelial cells by quantitative real-time PCR(qPCR).We first evaluated the effects of IDH1-AS1 on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of EOC cells through cell counting kit-8,colony formation,EdU,transwell,wound-healing,and xenograft assays. We then explored the downstream targets of IDH1-AS1 and verified the results by a dual-luciferase reporter,qPCR,rescue experiments, and Western blotting. We found that the expression levels of IDH1-AS1 were lower in EOC cells than in normal ovarian epithelial cells.High IDH1-AS1 expression of EOC patients from the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis database indicated a favorable prognosis, because IDH1-AS1 inhibited cell proliferation and xenograft tumor growth of EOC.IDH1-AS1 sponged miR-518c-5p whose overexpression promoted EOC cell proliferation. The miR-518c-5p mimic also reversed the proliferation-inhibiting effect induced by IDH1-AS1 overexpression.Furthermore,we found that RNA binding motif protein 47(RBM47)was the downstream target of miR-518c-5p,that upregulation of RBM47 inhibited EOC cell proliferation, and that RBM47 overexpressing plasmid counteracted the proliferation-promoting effect caused by the IDH1-AS1 knockdown.Taken together,IDH1-AS1 may suppress EOC cell proliferation and tumor growth via the miR-518c-5p/RBM47 axis. | Juan Zhou Yiran Xu Luyao Wang Yu Cong Ke Huang Xinxing Pan Guangquan Liu Wenqu Li Chenchen Dai Pengfei Xu Xuemei Jia | 2024 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2024,38,1: | 0
Breakdown of effective-medium theory by a photonic spin Hall effect显示文摘Effective-medium theory pertains to the theoretical modelling of homogenization, which aims to replace an inhomogeneous structure of subwavelength-scale constituents with a homogeneous effective medium. The effective-medium theory is fundamental to various realms, including electromagnetics and material science, since it can largely decrease the complexity in the exploration of light-matter interactions by providing simple acceptable approximation.Generally, the effective-medium theory is thought to be applicable to any all-dielectric system with deep-subwavelength constituents, under the condition that the effective medium does not have a critical angle,at which the total internal reflection occurs. Here we reveal a fundamental breakdown of the effective-medium theory that can be applied in very general conditions:showing it for deep-subwavelength all-dielectric multilayers even without a critical angle. Our finding relies on an exotic photonic spin Hall effect, which is shown to be ultrasensitive to the stacking order of deep-subwavelength dielectric layers, since the spin-orbit interaction of light is dependent on slight phase accumulations during the wave propagation. Our results indicate that the photonic spin Hall effect could provide a promising and powerful tool for measuring structural defects for all-dielectric systems even in the extreme nanometer scale. | Shuaijie Yuan Xinxing Zhou Yu Chen Yuhan Zhong Lijuan Sheng Hao Hu Hongsheng Chen Ido Kaminer Xiao Lin | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,11: | 0
Sin1-mediated mTOR signaling in cell growth, metabolism and immune response显示文摘The mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)is an evolutionarily conserved Ser/Thr protein kinase with essential cellular function via processing various extracellular and intracellular inputs. Two distinct multi-protein m TO R complexes(mTORC),mTORC1 and m TORC2,have been identified and well characterized in eukaryotic cells from yeast to human.Sinl, which stands for Styl/Spcl-interacting protein 1;also known as mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)associated protein(MAPKAP)l,is an evolutionarily conserved adaptor protein.Mammalian Sinl interacts with many cellular proteins, but it has been widely studied as an essential com ponent of mTORC2;and it is crucial not only for the assembly of mTORC2 but also for the regulation of its substrate specificity. In this review;we summarize our current knowledge of the structure and functions of S inl;focusing specifically on its protein interaction network and its roles in the m TO R pathway that could account for various cellular functions of mTOR in growth, metabolism, immunity and cancer. | Chun Ruan Xinxing Ouyang Hongzhi Liu Song Li Jingsi Jin Weiyi Tang Yu Xia Bing Su | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,6: | 0

Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning for Cross-Layer Scheduling in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks显示文摘Due to the fading characteristics of wireless channels and the burstiness of data traffic, how to deal with congestion in Ad-hoc networks with effective algorithms is still open and challenging. In this paper,we focus on enabling congestion control to minimize network transmission delays through flexible power control. To effectively solve the congestion problem,we propose a distributed cross-layer scheduling algorithm, which is empowered by graph-based multi-agent deep reinforcement learning. The transmit power is adaptively adjusted in real-time by our algorithm based only on local information(i.e.,channel state information and queue length)and local communication(i.e.,information exchanged with neighbors). Moreover, the training complexity of the algorithm is low due to the regional cooperation based on the graph attention network. In the evaluation,we show that our algorithm can reduce the transmission delay of data flow under severe signal interference and drastically changing channel states, and demonstrate the adaptability and stability in different topologies. The method is general and can be extended to various types of topologies. | Xinxing Zheng Yu Zhao Joohyun Lee Wei Chen | 2023 | China Communications2023,20,8: | 0
Effect of TiB_(2)Addition on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AA8009 Alloy Fabricated by Laser Additive Manufacturing显示文摘The research involves the addition of 5 vol.%TiB_(2)particles into AA8009 alloy powder to synthesize TiB_(2)/AA8009 composite parts produced via laser powder bed fusion(LPBF).The addition of the TiB_(2)particles causes the TiB_(2)/AA8009 composites with and without annealing have lower compressive strength than AA8009 alloy due to the change of the strengthening mechanism. The results further indicated that solid solution strengthening was the main strengthening mechanism of the LPBF AA8009 alloy at room temperature whereas Orowan strengthening became the primary strengthening factor after annealing at 673 K.In contrast,Orowan strengthening always remained the main strengthening mechanism for the TiB_(2)/AA8009 composite, irrespective of the annealing temperature. In addition, after annealing of the LPBF parts at 673 K,the compressive yield strength(CYS)of the unblended AA8009 alloy specimens had a~2.5 times greater reduction(from 705±16 to 459±30 MPa)compared to that of the composite TiB_(2)/AA8009 samples(from 466±23 to 368±3 MPa).Therefore,TiB_(2)particles can suppress the drop in yield strength of LPBF AA8009 alloy below 673 K,providing a theoretical and experimental basis for the applications of both LPBF AA8009 and TiB_(2)/AA8009 alloys at low and medium temperatures. | Xinxing Xiong Sijie Yu Pei Wang Junfang Qi Haichao Li Xulei Wang Michael Ryan Debajyoti Bhaduri Rossitza Setchi | 2024 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2024,37,1: | 0
Regulation of CD8^(+)T memory and exhaustion by the mTOR signals显示文摘CD8^(+)T cells are the key executioners of the adaptive immune arm, which mediates antitumor and antiviral immunity.Naïve CD8^(+)T cells develop in the thymus and are quickly activated in the periphery after encountering a cognate antigen, which induces these cells to proliferate and differentiate into effector cells that fight the initial infection.Simultaneously,a fraction of these cells become long-lived memory CD8^(+)T cells that combat future infections.Notably, the generation and maintenance of memory cells is profoundly affected by various in vivo conditions, such as the mode of primary activation(e.g.,acute vs.chronic immunization)or fluctuations in host metabolic, inflammatory,or aging factors. Therefore, many T cells may be lost or become exhausted and no longer functional.Complicated intracellular signaling pathways, transcription factors, epigenetic modifications, and metabolic processes are involved in this process. Therefore, understanding the cellular and molecular basis for the generation and fate of memory and exhausted CD8^(+)cells is central for harnessing cellular immunity. In this review,we focus on mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR),particularly signaling mediated by mTOR complex(mTORC)2 in memory and exhausted CD8^(+)T cells at the molecular level. | Yao Chen Ziyang Xu Hongxiang Sun Xinxing Ouyang Yuheng Han Haihui Yu Ningbo Wu Yiting Xie Bing Su | 2023 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,9: | 0
