2Soil Aggregate Stability and Iron and Aluminium Oxide Contents Under Different Fertiliser Treatments in a Long-Term Solar Greenhouse Experiment显示文摘Soil in greenhouses is likely to suffer a gradual decline in aggregate stability. Determination of the effects of different fertiliser practices on soil aggregate stability is important for taking advantage of solar greenhouses. Soil aggregate stability and iron(Fe) and aluminium(Al) oxide contents were investigated in a 26-year long-term fertilisation experiment in greenhouse in Shenyang, China,under eight fertiliser treatments: manure(M), fertiliser N(FN), fertiliser N with manure(MN), fertiliser P(FP), fertiliser P with manure(MP), fertiliser NP(FNP), fertiliser NP with manure(MNP), and control without any fertiliser(CK). A wet sieving method was used to determine aggregate size distribution and water-stable aggregates(WSA), mean weight diameter and geometric mean diameter as the indices of soil aggregate stability. Different fertiliser treatments had a statistically significant influence on aggregate stability and Fe and Al oxide contents. Long-term application of inorganic fertilisers had no obvious effects on the mass proportion of aggregates. By contrast, manure application significantly increased the mass proportion of macroaggregates at the expense of microaggregates. All treatments, with the exception of FNP, significantly increased the stability of macroaggregates but decreased that of microaggregates when compared with CK. Aggregation under MP and MN was better than that under M and MNP; however,no significant differences were found among inorganic fertiliser treatments(i.e., FN, FP, and FNP). 3Origin and accumulation of high-maturity oil and gas in deep parts of the Baxian Depression, Bohai Bay Basin, China显示文摘Great quantities of light oil and gas are produced from deep buried hill reservoirs at depths of 5,641 m to 6,027 m and 190 °C to 201 °C in the Niudong-1 Well, representing the deepest and hottest commercial hydrocarbons discovered in the Bohai Bay Basin in eastern China. This discovery suggests favorable exploration prospects for the deep parts of the basin. However, the discovery raises questions regarding the genesis and accumulation of hydrocarbons in deep reservoirs. Based on the geochemical features of the hydrocarbons and characteristics of the source rocks as well as thermal simulation experiments of hydrocarbon generation, we conclude that the oil and gas were generated from the highly mature Sha-4 Member (Es4 ) source rocks instead of thermal cracking of crude oils in earlier accumulations. The source kitchen with abnormal pressures and karsted carbonate reservoirs control the formation of high-maturity hydrocarbon accumulations in the buried hills (i.e., Niudong-1) in conjunction with several structural-lithologic traps in the Es4 reservoirs since the deposition of the upper Minghuazhen Formation. 4Application of Land-use Change Model in Guiding Regional Planning:A Case Study in Hun-Taizi River Watershed,Northeast China显示文摘This paper firstly investigated the land-use and land-cover change (LUCC) in the Hun-Taizi River watershed, Northeast China from 1988 to 2004 based on remotely sensed images and geographic information systems (GIS) technology. Then, using the famous land-use change model of Conversion of Land Use and its Effects at Small regional extent (CLUE-S), this paper simulated the land use changes under historical trend (HT), urban planning (UP) and ecological protection (EP) scenarios considering urban planning and ecological protection over the next 20 years. The simulated results under UP scenario in 2020 were compared with the planning map to assess the feasibility of using land-use change model to guide regional planning. Results show that forest land, dry farmland, paddy, and shrub land were the main land-use categories. Paddy and dry farmland being converted to urban area and rural settlement characterized the land-use change from 1988 to 2004. The main land-use categories changed over time. Landscape-pattern fragmentation will be worse under HT and UP scenarios, but better in EP scenario. The comparing results of simulated map with planning map in 2020 show that land-use change model is powerful tool to guide regional planning. 10Study on Forecast Scenarios for Simulation of Future Urban Growth in Shenyang City Based on SLEUTH Model显示文摘The SLEUTH urban growth model was used to simulate future urban growth patterns and to explore potential environ-mental impacts of urban development under different conditions of development in Shenyang City, China. The SLEUTH model was calibrated with historical data (1988-2004) extracted from a time series of TM satellite images, and the future growth was pro-jected out to 2030 assuming three different policy scenarios: (1) current trends scenario (Scenario CT), (2) regional policy and ur-ban planning scenario (Scenario PP), and (3) environmental protection scenario (Scenario EP). Scenario analysis showed that urban growth would accelerate under all policy scenarios with significant differences in development pattern and sustainability after 2016. Urban development under Scenario CT would lead to substantial loss of resource lands than that under the other two scenarios, and the urban landscape pattern would be increasingly complex and dispersed. In contrast, urban growth under scenario PP and EP would consume less natural resource land and show a relatively compact urban development pattern during the prediction period. This study suggested that it is crucial to take stringent urban planning and management measures to control future urban growth and to protect primary farmland and the support system of urban ecology in Shenyang City. 11Benefit analysis of multi-approach biomass energy utilization toward carbon neutrality显示文摘To reduce greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions,biomass has been increasingly developed as a renewable and clean alternative to fossil fuels because of its carbon-neutral characteristics.China has been investigating the rational development and use of bioenergy for developing its clean energy and achieving carbon neutrality.Substituting fossil fuels with multi-source and multi-approach utilized bioenergy and corresponding carbon reduction in China remain largely unexplored.Here,a comprehensive bioenergy accounting model with a multi-dimensional analysis was developed by combining spatial,life cycle,and multi-path analyses.Accordingly,the bioenergy production potential and GHG emission reduction for each distinct type of biomass feedstock through different conversion pathways were estimated.The sum of all available organic waste(21.55 EJ yr^(-1))and energy plants on marginal land(11.77 EJ yr^(-1))in China produced 23.30 EJ of bioenergy and reduced 2,535.32 Mt CO_(2)-eq emissions,accounting for 19.48%and 25.61%of China’s total energy production and carbon emissions in 2020,respectively.When focusing on the carbon emission mitigation potential of substituting bioenergy for conventional counterparts,bioelectricity was the most effective,and its potential was 4.45 and 8.58 times higher than that of gaseous and liquid fuel alternatives,respectively.In this study,life cycle emission reductions were maximized by a mix of bioenergy end uses based on biomass properties,with an optimal 78.56%bioenergy allocation from biodiesel,densified solid biofuel,biohydrogen,and biochar.The main regional bioenergy GHG mitigation focused on the Jiangsu,Sichuan,Guangxi,Henan,and Guangdong provinces,contributing to 31.32%of the total GHG mitigation potential.This study provides valuable guidance on exploiting untapped biomass resources in China to secure carbon neutrality by 2060.Jiaoyue Wang Jingying Fu Zhitong Zhao Longfei Bing Fengming Xi Feng Wang Jiang Dong Shiyun Wang Gang Lin Yan Yin Qinqin Hu 2023The Innovation2023,4,3:0

13Mevalonate improves anti-PD-1/PD-L1 efficacy by stabilizing CD274 mRNA显示文摘Mevalonate metabolism plays an important role in regulating tumor growth and progression;however,its role in immune evasion and immune checkpoint modulation remains unclear.Here,we found that non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients with higher plasma mevalonate response better to antiPD-(L)1 therapy,as indicated by prolonged progression-free survival and overall survival.Plasma mevalonate levels were positively correlated with programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1)expression in tumor tissues.In NSCLC cell lines and patient-derived cells,supplementation of mevalonate significantly upregulated the expression of PD-L1,whereas deprivation of mevalonate reduced PD-L1 expression.Mevalonate increased CD274 mRNA level but did not affect CD274 transcription.Further,we confirmed that mevalonate improved CD274 mRNA stability.Mevalonate promoted the affinity of the AU-rich elementbinding protein HuR to the 3'-UTR regions of CD274 mRNA and thereby stabilized CD274 mRNA.By in vivo study,we further confirmed that mevalonate addition enhanced the anti-tumor effect of anti-PD-L1,increased the infiltration of CD8^(+)T cells,and improved cytotoxic function of T cells.Collectively,our findings discovered plasma mevalonate levels positively correlated with the therapeutic efficacy of anti-PD-(L)1 antibody,and provided the evidence that mevalonate supplementation could be an immunosensitizer in NSCLC.Wenxin Zhang Xiaohui Pan Yanjun Xu Hongjie Guo Mingming Zheng Xi Chen Honghai Wu Fengming Luan Qiaojun He Ling Ding Bo Yang 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,6:0
14The NAC transcription factor ONAC083 negatively regulates rice immunity against Magnaporthe oryzae by directly activating transcription of the RING-H2 gene OsRFPH2-6显示文摘NAC transcription factors(TFs) play critical roles in plant immunity by modulating the expression of downstream genes via binding to specific cis-elements in promoters. Here, we report the function and regulatory network of a pathogenand defense phytohormone-inducible NAC TF gene, ONAC083, in rice(Oryza sativa) immunity.ONAC083 localizes to the nucleus and exhibits transcriptional activation activity that depends on its C-terminal region. Knockout of ONAC083enhances rice immunity against Magnaporthe oryzae, strengthening pathogen-induced defense responses, and boosting chitin-induced pattern-triggered immunity(PTI), whereas ONAC083 overexpression has opposite effects. We identified ONAC083-binding sites in the promoters of 82genes, and showed that ONAC083 specifically binds to a conserved element with the core sequence ACGCAA. ONAC083 activated the transcription of the genes OsRFPH2-6, OsTrx1, and OsPUP4 by directly binding to the ACGCAA element. OsRFPH2-6, encoding a RING-H2 protein with an N-terminal transmembrane region and a C-terminal typical RING domain, negatively regulated rice immunity against M. oryzae and chitin-triggered PTI. These data demonstrate that ONAC083 negatively contributes to rice immunity against M. oryzae by directly activating the transcription of OsRFPH2-6 through the ACGCAA element in its promoter. 15Dividing the transit wind speeds into intervals as a favorable methodology for analyzing the relationship between wind speed and the aerodynamic impedance of vegetation in semiarid grasslands显示文摘In grassland ecosystems,the aerodynamic roughness(Z0)and frictional wind speed(u*)contribute to the aerodynamic impedance of the grassland canopy.Thus,they are often used in the studies of wind erosion and evapotranspiration.However,the effect of wind speed and grazing measures on the aerodynamic impedance of the grassland canopy has received less analysis.In this study,we monitored wind speeds at multiple heights in grazed and grazing-prohibited grasslands for 1 month in 2021,determined the transit wind speed at 2.0 m height by comparing wind speed differences at the same height in both grasslands,and divided these transit wind speeds at intervals of 2.0 m/s to analyze the effect of the transit wind speed on the relationship among Z0,u*,and wind speed within the grassland canopy.The results showed that dividing the transit wind speeds into intervals has a positive effect on the logarithmic fit of the wind speed profile.After dividing the transit wind speeds into intervals,the wind speed at 0.1 m height(V0.1)gradually decreased with the increase of Z0,exhibiting three distinct stages:a sharp change zone,a steady change zone,and a flat zone;while the overall trend of u*increased first and then decreased with the increase of V0.1.Dividing the transit wind speeds into intervals improved the fitting relationship between Z0 and V0.1 and changed their fitting functions in grazed and grazing-prohibited grasslands.According to the computational fluid dynamic results,we found that the number of tall-stature plants has a more significant effect on windproof capacity than their height.The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between wind speed and the aerodynamic impedance of vegetation in grassland environments.LI Ruishen PEI Haifeng ZHANG Shengwei LI Fengming LIN Xi WANG Shuai YANG Lin 2023Journal of Arid Land2023,15,8:0
