| 1 | Geological analysis and FT dating of the large-scale right-lateral strike-slip movement of the Red River fault zone显示文摘Tectonically, the large-scale right-lateral strike-slip movement along the Red River fault zone is char-acterized at its late phase with the southeastward extension and deformation of the Northwestern Yunnan normal fault depression on its northern segment, and the dextral shear displacement on its central-southern segment. Research of the relations between stratum deformation and fault movement on the typical fault segments, such as Jianchuan, southeast Midu, Yuanjiang River, Yuanyang, etc. since the Miocene Epoch shows that there are two times dextral faulting dominated by normal shearing occurring along the Red River fault zone since the Miocene Epoch. The fission track dating (abbrevi-ated to FT dating, the same below) is conducted on apatite samples collected from the above fault segments and relating to these movements. Based on the measured single grain’s age and the con-fined track length, we choose the Laslet annealing model to retrieve the thermal history of the samples, and the results show that the fault zone experienced two times obvious shear displacement, one in 5.5 ± 1.5 MaBP and the other in 2.1± 0.8 MaBP. | 2 | Spatial Heterogeneity of Soil Mineral Oxide Components in Depression Between Karst Hills,Southwest China显示文摘In karst regions,the spatial heterogeneity of soil mineral oxides and environmental variables is still not clear.We investigated the spatial heterogeneity of SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,CaO,MgO,P2O5,K2O,and MnO contents in the soils of slope land,plantation forest,secondary forest,and primary forest,as well as their relationships with environmental variables in a karst region of Southwest China.Geostatistics,principal component analysis(PCA),and canonical correlation analysis(CCA)were applied to analyze the field data.The results show that SiO2was the predominant mineral in the soils(45.02%–67.33%),followed by Al2O3and Fe2O3.Most soil mineral oxide components had a strong spatial dependence,except for CaO,MgO,and P2O5in the plantation forest,MgO and P2O5in the secondary forest,and CaO in the slope land.Dimensionality reduction in PCA was not appropriate due to the strong spatial heterogeneity in the ecosystems.Soil mineral oxide components,the main factors in all ecosystems,had greater influences on vegetation than those of conventional soil properties.There were close relationships between soil mineral oxide components and vegetation,topography,and conventional soil properties.Mineral oxide components affected species diversity,organic matter and nitrogen levels. | DU Hu WANG Kelin PENG Wanxia ZENG Fuping SONG Tongqing ZHANG Hao LU Shiyang | 2014 | Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,2: | 9 |
| 3 | Influence of genotypes and environmental factors on leaf triterpenoid content and growth of Cyclocarya paliurus显示文摘Cyclocarya paliurus, an economically valuable tree species, has traditionally been used as a nutraceutical food or medicine in China. However, limited information is available on its genotype selection and cultivation under a wide range of environmental conditions for growth and targeted health-promoting substances. We studied the effects of genotype and environment, and their interaction on leaf triterpenoid content and tree growth for 12 genotypes of C. paliurus grown at four sites. We quantified the correlation between leaf triterpenoid accumulation and tree growth. The contents of cyclocaric acid B, cyclocarioside I, and arjunolic acid ranged from 0.06 to 3.89, 0 to 3.71, and 0.65 to 8.86 mg g^-1, respectively. Three individual triterpenoids were primarily influenced by genotype (variation ranged from 53.7 to 68.0%), while environment accounted for most of the variation in total triterpenoid content and tree growth (71.3–89.5%). Most tested environmental parameters were significantly correlated to total triterpenoid content, but not to the contents of the individual triterpenoids measured. Growth in tree height and diameter at breast height were significantly negatively correlated with total triterpenoid content but were non-significantly correlated with individual triterpenoid contents. | 6 | Grain nucleation and growth behavior of a Sn-Pb alloy affected by direct current: An in situ investigation显示文摘In situ synchrotron X-ray radiography was used to study the effect of direct current(DC) on the grain nucleation and growth of Sn-50 wt.%Pb alloy. The results showed that applying DC adequately during solidification could effectively enhance the grain nucleation and inhibit its growth. Imaging of comparative experiments with varying DC intensity indicated that the final grain size, determined by the competition between grain nucleation and growth, was sensitively dependent on the DC intensity. It was found that the average grain size was decreased from 1632 to 567 μm with DC density of 1.5 A/mm^2 compared to the case without DC. | 9 | Synthesis and Characterization of Carboxyl-terminated Polyethylene Glycol Functionalized Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles显示文摘Colloidal mesoporous silica nanoparticles functionalized with carboxy-terminated polyethylene glycol(CMS-PEG-COOH) were successfully synthesized by covalently grafting dicarboxy-terminated polyethylene glycol(HOOC-PEG-COOH) on the surface of the amino functionalized CMS nanoparticles with amide bond as a cross linker. Moreover, the structural and particle properties of CMS-PEG-COOH were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1 H-NMR), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), dynamic light scattering(DLS), nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements, X-ray diffraction(XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR). The nanomaterials presented a relatively uniform spherical shape morphology with diameters of about 120 nm,and favorable dispersibility in weak acid solution. The CMSPEG-COOH exhibited no changes in the state of amorphous, while the mesopores sizes of 5.25 nm might provide the nanomaterials with large capacity for the loading and releasing of drugs. | 18 | Effects of the Northeast China Revitalization Strategy on Regional Economic Growth and Social Development显示文摘Measuring the economic and social effects of the Northeast China Revitalization Strategy is critical to addressing regional sustainable development in China. To shed light on this issue, an integrated perspective was adopted that is combined with the difference-in-differences method to measure the effects of the strategy on economic growth and social development in Northeast China. The findings suggest that the strategy has significantly improved regional economic growth and per-capita income by increasing its gross domestic product(GDP) and GDP per capita by 25.70% and 46.00%, respectively. However, the strategy has significantly worsened the regional employment in the secondary industry of the region. In addition, the strategy has not significantly improved regional infrastructural road, education investment or social security, and has had no significant effect on mitigating regional disparity. In addition, the policy effects are highly heterogeneous across cities based on city size and characteristics. Therefore, there is no simple answer regarding whether the Northeast China Revitalization Strategy has reached its original goals from an integrated perspective.
