1Influence of CeO_2 and La_2O_3 on properties of palladium catalysts used for emission control of natural gas vehicles显示文摘Pd/YZ-Al2O3(Y and Zr modified Al2O3,and hereafter,labelled as Al) catalysts with 4 wt% additive CeO2 and/or La2O3 were prepared and characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) ,NO-temperature programmed desorption(NO-TPD) ,N 2-adsorption/desorption(Brunauer-Emmet-Teller BET method) ,X-ray diffraction(XRD) and CO-chemisorption. Catalytic activities for CH 4,CO and NO conversion were tested in a gas mixture simulated the emissions from natural gas vehicles(NGVs) operated under stoichiometric conditions. The results indicated that all catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic performances for CH 4 and CO oxidation and the promoting effect of CeO2 or La2O3 was significant for NO conversion. XPS results showed that the electron density around Pd was increased by CeO2 and/or La2O3,the binding energy of Pd 3d decreased as the order:Pd/Al > Pd/Ce/Al > Pd/La/Al > Pd/CeLa/Al. The electron-rich Pd showed Rh-like catalytic properties which exhibited good activity for the reduction of NO. 2In vivo gene expression profiling of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana elucidates its infection stratagems in Anopheles mosquito显示文摘The use of entomopathogenic fungi to control mosquitoes is a promising tool for reducing vector-borne disease transmission.To better understand infection stratagems of insect pathogenic fungi,we analyzed the global gene expression profiling of Beauveria bassiana at 36,60,84 and 108 h after topical infection of Anopheles stephensi adult mosquitoes using RNA sequencing(RNA-Seq).A total of 5,354 differentially expressed genes(DEGs) are identified over the course of fungal infection.When the fungus grows on the mosquito cuticle,up-regulated DEGs include adhesion-related genes involved in cuticle attachment,Pthll-like GPCRs hypothesized to be involved in host recognition,and extracellular enzymes involved in the degradation and penetration of the mosquito cuticle.Once in the mosquito hemocoel,the fungus evades mosquito immune system probably through up-regulating expression of |3-l,3-glucan degrading enzymes and chitin synthesis enzymes for remodeling of cell walls.Moreover,six previous unknown SSCP(small secreted cysteine-rich proteins) are significantly up-regulated,which may serve as 'effectors' to suppress host defense responses.B.bassiana also induces large amounts of antioxidant genes to mitigate host-generated exogenous oxidative stress.At late stage of infection,B.bassiana activates a broad spectrum of genes including nutrient degrading enzymes,some transporters and metabolism pathway components,to exploit mosquito tissues and hemolymph as a nutrient source for hyphal growth.These findings establish an important framework of knowledge for further comprehensive elucidation of fungal pathogenesis and molecular mechanism of Beauveria-mosqaito interactions.Yiling Lai Huan Chen Ge Wei Guandong Wang Fang Li Sibao Wang 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,8:5
3CeO_2-ZrO_2-La_2O_3-Al_2O_3 composite oxide and its supported palladium catalyst for the treatment of exhaust of natural gas engined vehicles显示文摘Composite supports CeO2-ZrO2-Al2O3 (CZA) and CeO2-ZrO2-Al2O3-La2O3 (CZALa) were prepared by co-precipitation method. Palladium catalysts were prepared by impregnation and their purification ability for CH4, CO and NOx in the mixture gas simulated the exhaust from natural gas vehicles (NGVs) operated under stoichiometric condition was investigated. The effect of La2O3 on the physicochemical properties of supports and catalysts was characterized by various techniques. The characterizations with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy revealed that the doping of La2O3 restrained effectively the sintering of crystallite particles, maintained the crystallite particles in nanoscale and stabilized the crystal phase after calcination at 1000℃. The results of N2-adsorption, H2-temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR) and oxygen storage capacity (OSC) measurements indicated that La2O3 improved the textural properties, reducibility and OSC of composite supports. Activity testing results showed that the catalysts exhibit excellent activities for the simultaneous removal of methane, CO and NOx in the simulated exhaust gas. The catalysts supported on CZALa showed remarkable thermal stability and catalytic activity for the three pollutants, especially for NOx. The prepared palladium catalysts have high ability to remove NOx, CH4 and CO, and they can be used as excellent catalysts for the purification of exhaust from NGVs operated under stoichiometric condition. 4Genomic structure of metabotropic glutamate receptor 7 and comparison of genomic structures of extracellular domains of mGluR family显示文摘Metabotropic glutamate receptor 7, coupled with a chemical neurotransmitter L-glutamate, plays an important role in the development of many psychiatric and neurological disorders. To study the biological and genetic mechanism of the mGluR7-related diseases, a physical map covering the full-length mGluR7 genomic sequence has been constructed through seed clone screening and fingerprinting database searching. These BAC clones in the physical map have been sequenced with shotgun strategy and assembled by Phred-Phrap-Consed software; the error rate of the final genoniic sequence is less than 0.01%. mGluR7 spans 880 kb genoniic region, the GC content and repeat content of mGluR7 genoniic sequence are 38% and 37.5% respectively. mGluR7 has a typical 'house-keeping' promoter and consists of 11 exons, with introns ranging from 6 kb to 285 kb. mGluR7a and mGluR7b are two known alternatively splicing variants. 5Safety of endovascular therapy for symptomatic intracranial artery stenosis:a national prospective registry显示文摘Introduction The safety outcomes of endovascular therapy for intracranial artery stenosis in a real-world stetting are largely unknown.The Clinical Registration Trial of Intracranial Stenting for Patients with Symptomatic Intracranial Artery Stenosis(CRTICAS)was a prospective,multicentre,real-world registry designed to assess these outcomes and the impact of centre experience.Methods 1140 severe,symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis(ICAS)patients treated with endovascular therapy were included from 26 centres,further divided into three groups according to the annual centre volume of intracranial angioplasty and stent placement procedures over 2 years:(1)high volume for≥25 cases/year;(2)moderate volume for 10–25 cases/year and(3)low volume for<10 cases/year.Results The rate of 30-day stroke,transient ischaemic attack or death was 9.7%(111),with 5.4%,21.1%and 9.7%in high-volume,moderate-volume and low-volume centres,respectively(p<0.05).Multivariable logistic regression confirmed high-volume centres had a significantly lower primary endpoint compared with moderate-volume centres(OR=0.187,95%CI:0.056 to 0.627;p≤0.0001),while moderate-volume and low-volume centres showed no significant difference(p=0.8456).Conclusion Compared with the preceding randomised controlled trials,this real-world,prospective,multicentre registry shows a lower complication rate of endovascular treatment for symptomatic ICAS.Non-uniform utilisation in endovascular technology,institutional experience and patient selection in different volumes of centres may have an impact on overall safety of this treatment.Yabing Wang Tao Wang Adam Andrew Dmytriw Kun Yang Liqun Jiao Huaizhang Shi Jie Lu Tianxiao Li Yujie Huang Zhenwei Zhao Wei Wu Jieqing Wan Qinjian Sun Bo Hong Yongli Li Liyong Zhang Jianfeng Chu Qiong Cheng Yiling Cai Pengfei Wang Qi Luo Hua Yang Baijing Dong Yang Zhang Jun Zhao Zuoquan Chen Wei Li Xiaoxin Bai Weiwen He Xueli Cai Maimai Ti Osama O Zaidat 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,2:3
6Enhancement of oral bioavailability and anti-Parkinsonian efficacy of resveratrol through a nanocrystal formulation显示文摘Resveratrol(RES),a non-flavonoid polyphenol extracted from a wide variety of plants,exhibits neuroprotective activities against Parkinson’s disease(PD).However,undesirable water solubility of RES reduces its oral bioavailability and demonstrates lowefficacy in blood and brain,thus limiting its application.In present study,a nanocrystal formulation of RES(RES-NCs)was developed to enhance its oral bioavailability and delivery into brain for PD treatment.RES-NCs were fabricated with hydroxypropyl methylcellulose(HPMC)stabilizer via antisolvent precipitation approach.The obtained RES-NCs displayed the particle size of 222.54±1.66 nm,the PDI of 0.125±0.035,the zeta potential of−9.41±0.37mV,and a rapid in vitro dissolution rate.Molecular dynamics simulation of RES and HPMC revealed an interaction energy of−68.09 kJ/mol and a binding energy of−30.98±0.388 kJ/mol,indicating that the spontaneous binding between the two molecules is through van der Waals forces.RES-NCs conferred enhanced cellular uptake as well as improved permeability relative to pure RES.In addition,RES-NCs were able to protect neurons against cytotoxicity induced by MPP+.Meanwhile,RES-NCs exerted no significant toxic effects on zebrafish embryos and larvae,and did not influence their survival and hatching rates.When orally administered to rats,RES-NCs exhibited more favorable pharmacokinetics than pure RES,with higher plasma and brain concentrations.More importantly,MPTP-induced PD mice showed notable improvements in behavior,attenuated dopamine deficiency,and elevated levels of dopamine and its metabolites after the treatment with RES-NCs.Furthermore,immunoblot analysis revealed that the neuroprotective role of RES-NCsmay be at least partially mediated by Akt/Gsk3βsignaling pathway.Taken altogether,RES-NCs can serve as a potential treatment modality for PD,offering means of improving RES oral bioavailability and brain accumulation.Sha Xiong Wei Liu Yile Zhou Yousheng Mo Yao Liu Xiaojia Chen Huafeng Pan Dongsheng Yuan QiWang Tongkai Chen 2020Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,4:3

8Intra-abdominal aortic balloon occlusion in the management of placenta percreta显示文摘Background:Massive bleeding is the main concern for the management of placenta percreta(PP).Intra-abdominal aortic balloon occlusion(IABO)is one method for pelvic devascularization,but the efficacy of IABO is uncertain.This study aims to investigate the outcomes of IABO in PP patients.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of PP cases from six tertiary centers in China between January 2011 and December 2015.PP cases with/without the use of IABO were analyzed.Propensity score matching analysis was performed to reduce the effect of selection bias.Postpartum hemorrhage(PPH)and the rate of hysterectomy,as well as neonatal outcomes,were analyzed.Results:One hundred and thirty-two matched pairs of patients were included in the final analysis.Compared with the control group,maternal outcomes,including PPH(68.9%vs.87.9%,χ^(2)=13.984,P<0.001),hysterectomy(8.3%vs.65.2%,χ^(2)=91.672,P<0.001),and repeated surgery(1.5%vs.12.1%,χ^(2)=11.686,P=0.001)were significantly reduced in the IABO group.For neonatal outcomes,Apgar scores at 1 minute(8.67±1.79vs.8.53±1.68,t=-0.638,P=0.947)and 5 minutes(9.43±1.55vs.9.53±1.26,t=0.566,P=0.293)were not significantly different between the two groups.Conclusions:IABO can significantly reduce blood loss,hysterectomies,and repeated surgeries.This procedure has not shown harmful effects on neonatal outcomes.Weiran Zheng Ruochong Dou Jie Yan Xinrui Yang Xianlan Zhao Dunjin Chen Yuyan Ma Weishe Zhang Yiling Ding Ling Fan Huixia Yang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,4:2
9The role of intraoperative electron radiotherapy in centrally located hepatocellular carcinomas treated with narrow-margin (<1 cm) hepatectomy: a prospective, phase 2 study显示文摘Background: Postoperative radiotherapy (RT) is known to play an important role in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs), but the specific role of intraoperative electron radiotherapy (IOERT) in HCCs remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of IOERT in centrally located HCCs treated with narrow-margin (<1 cm) hepatectomy. Methods: This was a single-center, phase 2, prospective non-randomized controlled study, including 268 patients with centrally located HCCs who underwent narrow-margin hepatectomy. The patients were subsequently allocated to the IOERT group (n=59) or to the control group (n=65). The primary outcome of the study was to compare recurrence-free survival (RFS) between the IOERT group and the control group, and the secondary outcome was to compare overall survival (OS) rate between the two groups. Results: Of 268 patients enrolled, a total of 124 were included in the study: 59 in IOERT group, 65 in control group. The 1-, 2-, 3-year RFS rates were 79.3%, 62.1% and 45.8% for patients in the IOERT group, and 47.6%, 28.6%, and 22.9% for patients in the control group, respectively (P=0.025). The 1-, 2-, and 3-year OS rates were 100.0%, 94.9%, and 83.7% for patients in the IOERT group, and 92.3%, 87.5%, and 79.4% for patients in the control group, respectively (P=0.314). Subgroup analysis of MVI (+) patients revealed that RFS and OS are significantly prolonged in the IOERT subgroup as compared to the control, whereas there was no significant difference of RFS and OS between the two groups in MVI (−) patients. Conclusions: IOERT for centrally located HCCs with concurrent narrow-margin hepatectomy was feasible and safe. Statistically better RFS rate was observed in the IOERT group compared to the control group. Subgroup analysis revealed that IOERT was more beneficial for postoperative survival of HCC patients with MVI. 11Change in current and future geographic distributions of Ulmus lamellosa in China显示文摘Prediction of potential geographic distributions is important for species protection and habitat restoration.Ulmus lamellosa is an endangered and endemic species in China for which conservation efforts are required.The maximum entropy(MaxEnt) model was used to predict the current and future geographic distribution(from 2030 to 2070) of U.lamellosa in China and discuss the reasons for changes in climatic suitability.The MaxEnt model provided a good fit to our data as confirmed by an AUC value of 0.948.The suitable areas for U.lamellosa were primarily projected in the northern part of China from 2030 to2070, especially in Liaoning province.The variables'temperature seasonality', 'precipitation of wettest month' and 'precipitation of warmest quarter' were the most influential climatic variables in limiting the distribution of U.lamellosa.Our results clearly predict the future impacts of climate change on the geographic distribution of U.lamellosa and this can help prioritize design of localized conservation strategies in China.Dongting Yan Wei Chen Li Liu Jing Li Lin Liu Yiling Wang 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:2
12Evaluation of triage strategies for high-risk human papillomavirus-positive women in cervical cancer screening:A multicenter randomized controlled trial in different resource settings in China显示文摘Objective:We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different triage strategies for high-risk human papillomavirus(hrHPV)-positive women in primary healthcare settings in China.Methods:This study was undertaken in 11 rural and 9 urban sites.Women aged 35-64 years old were enrolled.HrHPV-positive women were randomly allocated to liquid-based cytology(LBC),visual inspection with acetic acid and Lugol’s iodine(VIA/VILI)(rural only)triage,or directly referred to colposcopy(direct COLP).At 24 months,hrHPV testing,LBC and VIA/VILI were conducted for combined screening.Results:In rural sites,1,949 hrHPV-positive women were analyzed.A total of 852,218 and 480 women were randomly assigned to direct COLP,LBC and VIA/VILI.At baseline,colposcopy referral rates of LBC or VIA/VILI triage could be reduced by 70%-80%.LBC(n=3 and n=7)or VIA/VILI(n=8 and n=26)could significantly decrease the number of colposcopies needed to detect one cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)2 or worse and CIN3+compared with direct COLP(n=14 and n=23).For the 24-month cumulative detection rate of CIN2+,VIA/VILI triage was 0.50-fold compared with LBC triage and 0.46-fold with the direct COLP.When stratified by age,baseline LBC triage+performed best(P<0.001),peaking among women aged 35-44 years(Ptrend=0.002).In urban sites,1,728 women were hrHPV genotyping test positive.A total of 408,571 and 568women were randomly assigned to direct COLP for HPV16/18+,direct COLP for other hrHPV subtypes+,and LBC triage for other hrHPV subtypes+.LBC(n=12 and n=31)significantly decreased the number of colposcopies needed to detect one CIN2+and CIN3+compared with direct COLP(n=14 and n=44).HPV16/18+increased the 24-month cumulative detection rate of CIN2+(17.89%,P<0.001).Conclusions:LBC triage for hrHPV-positive women in rural settings and direct COLP for HPV16/18+women and LBC triage for other hrHPV subtype+women in urban settings might be feasible strategies.Le Dang Linghua Kong Yuqian Zhao Yi Dai Li Ma Lihui Wei Shulan Zhang Jihong Liu Mingrong Xi Long Chen Xianzhi Duan Qing Xiao Guzhalinuer Abulizi Guonan Zhang Ying Hong Qi Zhou Xing Xie Li Li Mayinuer Niyazi Zhifen Zhang Jiyu Tuo Yiling Ding Youlin Qiao Jinghe Lang 2022Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2022,34,5:2

16Pervasive hybridization during evolutionary radiation of Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes in mountains of southwest China显示文摘Radiations are especially important for generating species biodiversity in mountainous ecosystems.The contribution of hybridization to such radiations has rarely been examined.Here,we use extensive genomic data to test whether hybridization was involved in evolutionary radiation within Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes,whose members show strong geographic isolation in the mountains of southwest China.We sequenced genomes for 143 species of this subgenus and 93 species of four other subgenera,and found that Hymenanthes was monophyletic and radiated during the late Oligocene to middle Miocene.Widespread hybridization events were inferred within and between the identified clades and subclades.This suggests that hybridization occurred both early and late during diversification of subgenus Hymenan thes,although the extent to which hybridization,speciation through mixing-isolation-mixing or hybrid speciation,accelerated the diversification needs further exploration.Cycles of isolation and contact in such and other montane ecosystems may have together promoted species radiation through hybridization between diverging populations and species.Similar radiation processes may apply to other montane floras in this region and elsewhere.Yazhen Ma Xingxing Mao Ji Wang Lei Zhang Yuanzhong Jiang Yuying Geng Tao Ma Liming Cai Shuangquan Huang Pete Hollingsworth Kangshan Mao Minghui Kang Yiling Li Wenlu Yang Haolin Wu Yang Chen Charles C.Davis Nawal Shrestha Richard H.Ree Zhenxiang Xi Quanjun Hu Richard I.Milne Jianquan Liu 2022National Science Review2022,9,12:1
17The Amygdala Responds Rapidly to Flashes Linked to Direct Retinal Innervation:A Flash-evoked Potential Study Across Cortical and Subcortical Visual Pathways显示文摘Rapid detection and response to visual threats are critical for survival in animals.The amygdala(AMY)is hypothesized to be involved in this process,but how it interacts with the visual system to do this remains unclear.By recording flash-evoked potentials simultaneously from the superior colliculus(SC),lateral posterior nucleus of the thalamus,AMY,lateral geniculate nucleus(LGN)and visual cortex,which belong to the cortical and subcortical pathways for visual fear processing,we investigated the temporal relationship between these regions in visual processing in rats.A quick flash-evoked potential(FEP)component was identified in the AMY.This emerged as early as in the LGN and was approximately 25 ms prior to the earliest component recorded in the SC,which was assumed to be an important area in visual fear.This quick P1 component in the AMY was not affected by restraint stress or corticosterone injection,but was diminished by RU38486,a glucocorticoid receptor blocker.By injecting a monosynaptic retrograde AAV tracer into the AMY,we found that it received a direct projection from the retina.These results confirm the existence of a direct connection from the retina to the AMY,that the latency in the AMY to flashes is equivalent to that in the sensory thalamus,and that the response is modulated by glucocorticoids.Yanmei Chen Yiling Ni Jianhong Zhou Hua Zhou Qian Zhong Xinyue Li Jichuan Zhang Yuanye Ma Jingkuan Wei 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,8:1

19Hybrid C8-BTBT/In GaAs nanowire heterojunction for artificial photosynaptic transistors显示文摘The emergence of light-tunable synaptic transistors provides opportunities to break through the von Neumann bottleneck and enable neuromorphic computing.Herein,a multifunctional synaptic transistor is constructed by using 2,7-dioctyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b][1]benzothiophene(C8-BTBT)and indium gallium arsenide(InGaAs)nanowires(NWs)hybrid heterojunction thin film as the active layer.Under illumination,the Type-I C8-BTBT/InGaAs NWs heterojunction would make the dissociated photogenerated excitons more difficult to recombine.The persistent photoconductivity caused by charge trapping can then be used to mimic photosynaptic behaviors,including excitatory postsynaptic current,long/short-term memory and Pavlovian learning.Furthermore,a high classification accuracy of 89.72%can be achieved through the single-layer-perceptron hardware-based neural network built from C8-BTBT/InGaAs NWs synaptic transistors.Thus,this work could provide new insights into the fabrication of high-performance optoelectronic synaptic devices.Yiling Nie Pengshan Xie Xu Chen Chenxing Jin Wanrong Liu Xiaofang Shi Yunchao Xu Yongyi Peng Johnny C.Ho Jia Sun Junliang Yang 2022Journal of Semiconductors2022,43,11:1
