| 2 | Effectiveness and safety of moxibustion in treatment of lumbar disc herniation: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of moxibustion therapy in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). METHODS: Four Chinese databases and three English databases were searched from their inception to April 2018.Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included if moxibustion was used as the sole treatment or as a part of combination therapy with other treatments in patients with LDH. Two reviewers independently extracted the data and assessed the methodological quality using the Cochrane criteria for the risk of bias. The Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.3 software. RESULTS: In total, 16 RCTs including 1186 patients with LDH were analyzed. The Meta-analysis showed favorable effects of moxibustion in combination with massage therapy on the visual analog scale score compared with massage therapy alone [mean difference (MD)=? 1.32, 95% confidence interval (CI)(? 2.12,? 0.51), P = 0.001]. The subgroup Meta-analysis failed to show favorable effects of electro-acupuncture plus moxibustion on the efficacy rate compared with electro-acupuncture alone [relative risk (RR)= 1.06, 95% CI (0.98, 1.14), P = 0.15]. However, acupuncture or massage therapy plus moxibustion improved the efficacy rates compared with acupuncture or massage therapy alone [RR = 1.33, 95% CI (1.18, 1.49), P < 0.000 01][χ^2 = 2.76, P = 0.25, I2 = 27%],[RR = 1.15, 95% CI (1.06, 1.25), P = 0.001][χ^2 = 0.00, P = 0.95, I2 = 0%]. With respect to the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores, acupuncture or massage therapy in addition to moxibustion produced results different from those of acupuncture or massage therapy alone [MD = 5.58, 95% CI (4.15, 7.00), P < 0.000 01][χ^2 = 0.58, P = 0.45, I2 = 0%],[MD = 3.61, 95% CI (3.01, 4.21), P < 0.000 01]. There were no significant differences in the JOA score for subjective symptoms, objective symptoms, daily living ability, and other parameters. In six RCTs, no adverse reactions occurred during moxibustion. CONCLUSION: Whether moxibustion is an effective intervention for LDH is unclear because of the small sample size of qualified RCTs and the high risk of bias. | 4 | Effectiveness of moxibustion alone on lumbar disc herniation:a Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the available evidence from randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of moxibustion alone for lumbar disc herniation(LDH)treatment.METHODS:A systematic search of 10 databases(until August 30,2021)was used to identify studies that reported the response rate,visual analogue scale(VAS)score,Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)score,and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)score.Study selection and data extraction were independently performed by two reviewers.Cochrane criteria for risk of bias were used to assess the methodological quality of the trials.The Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation Methodology(GRADE)were also used to test the quality of the result evidence.RESULTS:Nineteen RCTs,including 1888 patients,met the inclusion criteria.Five studies showed no difference between moxibustion and acupuncture on response rate[risk ratio(RR)=1.07,95%CI(0.98,1.16),P=0.11].Meanwhile,six studies suggested that there is no significant difference between moxibustion and acupuncture on VAS score[mean difference(MD)=-0.43,95%CI(-0.91,0.05),P=0.08].Eight studies implied that there is no significant difference between moxibustion and acupuncture on JOA score[MD=0.84,95%CI(-1.27,2.96),P=0.44].Two studies indicated that moxibustion may have equivalent effects for treating LDH in the VAS score in comparison with drug therapy[MD=-1.16,95%CI(-2.63,0.31),P=0.12].The evidence level of results was determined to be very low to low.CONCLUSIONS:Based on the existing evidence,moxibustion may not be suitable for treating LDH alone,but it may be applied as an adjuvant treatment.Furthermore,well-designed RCTs with high quality and larger samples are still needed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of moxibustion alone for LDH treatment. | YAO Yao ZHAO Zhenni CHEN Fengqin LENG Yufei PANG Xiangtian XU Xiao SUN Zhiling | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1: | 3 |

| 13 | The underappreciated role of fugitive VOCs in ozone formation and health risk assessment emitted from seven typical industries in China显示文摘Fugitive emission from industrial sources may result in ozone formation and health risk,while the exact contribution of this source remains incompletely understood.In this study,emission characteristics,ozone formation potential(OFP)and health risk of fugitive VOCs in7 representative industries were investigated.Chemical material industry was the dominant contributor to VOCs of fugitive emission in comparison with other industries.The OFP of VOCs from fugitive emission was in the range of 1.45×10^(3)-3.98×10^(5)μg/m^(3),with a higher value than that of organized emission in seven industries except for the coking industry and the chemical material industry,suggesting that fugitive VOCs should be taken into account while developing control strategies.Acetaldehyde,m,p-xylene,n-nonane,ethylene,vinyl chloridethe and other high OFP-contributing species were the major reactive species that should be targeted.Health risk assessment investigated non-cancer and cancer risks of fugitive VOCs in 7 industries were all above safe level(HR>1 and LCR>1×10^(-4)),posing remarkable health threats to human health.OVOCs were the main contributor to non-cancer risk,while halohydrocarbons and aromatics contributed most to cancer risks,posing remarkable health threat on human health.Our findings highlighted the contribution of fugitive VOCs on ozone formation and health risk was underestimated,indicating which should be considered in emission control strategies of industrial sources. | Zhiling Liang Yunjiang Yu Bingbing Sun Qian Yao Xihua Lin Yongsheng Wang Jianping Zhang Yingzi Li Xuefeng Wang Zhengzheng Tang Shexia Ma | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |

| 15 | An Empirical Study on Self-Efficacy of Online Learning of Overseas Chinese Children in Europe显示文摘In the post-Covid-19 pandemic era,it is more difficult for some Chinese schools in Europe to provide online extra classes for overseas Chinese children after school hours,as they did previously.To meet students'multifaceted learning needs,online extra classes teaching,including online Chinese language classes and some online art classes,is increasingly being offered as a supplement to the diversity of teaching activities in Chinese schools in Europe,with the ultimate goal of improving the learning abilities of overseas Chinese children while relieving pressure on teaching resources in schools.Children’s learning self-efficacy in online extracurricular courses has its own uniqueness,which can be considered from three dimensions,including learning confidence,learning ability,and self-assessment ability.This study aims to examine the factors influencing the self-efficacy of overseas Chinese children and to make optimization suggestions for better teaching methods.In search of that,an online questionnaire survey with 127 participants from overseas Chinese children aged��to����was collected.The findings indicate that the role of learning confidence in overseas Chinese children outweighs their learning ability and self-assessment ability.Gender and age have a negligible effect on self-efficacy but have an impact on learning confidence.Chinese schools in Europe do not need to show gender differences when conducting classroom activities in online teaching to improve the online self-efficacy of Chinese children,and efforts should also be made to keep the courage of older students to trial and error.Teachers are expected to investigate more aspects of their students'personalities in future classrooms rather than sticking to a consistent and unchanging teaching model. | Junyi Jiang Yichen Wang Chenlu Sun Zhiling Yang | 2022 | 教育技术与创新2022,,2: | 0 |
| 16 | Novel biomarkers identifying hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and its obstructive variant based on targeted amino acid metabolomics显示文摘Background:Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM)is an underdiagnosed genetic heart disease worldwide.The management and prognosis of obstructive HCM(HOCM)and non-obstructive HCM(HNCM)are quite different,but it also remains challenging to discriminate these two subtypes.HCM is characterized by dysmetabolism,and myocardial amino acid(AA)metabolism is robustly changed.The present study aimed to delineate plasma AA and derivatives profiles,and identify potential biomarkers for HCM.Methods:Plasma samples from 166 participants,including 57 cases of HOCM,52 cases of HNCM,and 57 normal controls(NCs),who first visited the International Cooperation Center for HCM,Xijing Hospital between December 2019 and September 2020,were collected and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry based on targeted AA metabolomics.Three separate classification algorithms,including random forest,support vector machine,and logistic regression,were applied for the identification of specific AA and derivatives compositions for HCM and the development of screening models to discriminate HCM from NC as well as HOCM from HNCM.Results:The univariate analysis showed that the serine,glycine,proline,citrulline,glutamine,cystine,creatinine,cysteine,choline,and aminoadipic acid levels in the HCM group were significantly different from those in the NC group.Four AAs and derivatives(Panel A;proline,glycine,cysteine,and choline)were screened out by multiple feature selection algorithms for discriminating HCM patients from NCs.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)analysis in Panel A yielded an area under the ROC curve(AUC)of 0.83(0.75-0.91)in the training set and 0.79(0.65-0.94)in the validation set.Moreover,among 10 AAs and derivatives(arginine,phenylalanine,tyrosine,proline,alanine,asparagine,creatine,tryptophan,ornithine,and choline)with statistical significance between HOCM and HNCM,3 AAs(Panel B;arginine,proline,and ornithine)were selected to differentiate the two subgroups.The AUC values in the training and validation sets for Panel B were 0.83(0.74-0.93)and 0.82(0.66-0.98),respectively.Conclusions:The plasma AA and derivatives profiles were distinct between the HCM and NC groups.Based on the differential profiles,the two established screening models have potential value in assisting HCM screening and identifying whether it is obstructive. | Lanyan Guo Bo Wang Fuyang Zhang Chao Gao Guangyu Hu Mengyao Zhou Rutao Wang Hang Zhao Wenjun Yan Ling Zhang Zhiling Ma Weiping Yang Xiong Guo Chong Huang Zhe Cui Fangfang Sun Dandan Song Liwen Liu Ling Tao | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,16: | 0 |
