Underground mining of thick coal seams显示文摘This paper reviews underground mining methods for total thickness of a thick coal seam in single lift(TTTCSSL). Review shows the required engineering for extraction of thick seams needs to be fitted with thickness of the seam, behavior of rock-mass and surrounding stress conditions for efficient mining.Variants of TTTCSSL are able to extract a maximum 10–12 m thickness only. An improvement in bending moment of the overlying coal band in longwall top coal caving(LTCC) provides better under-winning opportunity for the roof coal band. An acceptable limit of 25 MPa compressive strength of coal for the success of LTCC may be increased under favorable geo-technical conditions. Bord and pillar in India adopted induced caving of roof coal band for single lift depillaring of total thickness(SLDTT) of a competent thick coal seam developed along floor. Case studies are given to arrest the adverse effects of extraction height on pillars.Kumar Rakesh Singh Arun Kumar Mishra Arvind Kumar Singh Rajendra 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,6:7
Optimisation of Adventitious Shoot Regeneration and Agrobacterium-mediated Transformation in Canna × generalis(Canna Lily)显示文摘Canna being ornamental plants has a significant role in agriculture, medical, economy and food industry. Canna has a limited vase life due to the rapid loss of moisture from its perianth. For improving its market value, cuticularisation of the perianth can be achieved by the expression of a heterologous cutin producing gene, using the tissue culture and transformation protocol developed in this study. Efficient, rapid and direct adventitious shoot regeneration was successfully established in Canna × generalis using recalcitrant rhizome explants. The explants were cultured on MS medium supplemented with 6-benzylaminopurine(6-BA), thidiazuron(TDZ), and kinetin. Among the four genotypes taken for tissue culture, the ‘Trinacria variegata' was the best responding cultivar. And 2 mg · L^(-1)6-BA or 1.5 mg · L^(-1) TDZ along with 0.1 mg · L^(-1) IAA was optimum for their regeneration. The highest regeneration was achieved in ‘Trinacria variegata'(36%) on 6-BA, 33% on TDZ while kinetin failed to evoke any regenerative responses. Regeneration was enhanced by supplementation of 100 mg · L^(-1) ascorbic acid(AsA), while, 100 mg · L^(-1) of l-cysteine or 100 mg · L^(-1) dithiothreitol(DTT), inhibited regeneration. Shoots were observed to develop 3–5 fibrous roots on MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg · L^(-1) indole-3-butyric acid(IBA). The plantlets were transplanted into pots and acclimatised in glasshouse with 100%survival. For transformation of Canna, rhizome explants were co-cultivated for 60 min in Agrobacterium suspension. The explants were washed with 500 mg · L^(-1) cefotaxime solution, subjected to 100 mg · L^(-1) kanamycin selection followed by excision of the shoots and culturing them on IBA-supplemented media for root development. Transgene integration in the putative transformants was confirmed by PCR assay and copy number by Southern blot hybridisation analysis.Rani Singh Arvind Kumar Dubey Indraneel Sanyal 2019Horticultural Plant Journal2019,5,1:6
Analyses of Lattice Traffic Flow Model on a Gradient Highway显示文摘The optimal current difference lattice hydrodynamic model is extended to investigate the traffic flow dynamics on a unidirectional single lane gradient highway. The effect of slope on uphill/downhill highway is examined through linear stability analysis and shown that the slope significantly affects the stability region on the phase diagram.Using nonlinear stability analysis, the Burgers, Korteweg-deVries(KdV) and modified Korteweg-deVries(mKdV) equations are derived in stable, metastable and unstable region, respectively. The effect of reaction coefficient is examined and concluded that it plays an important role in suppressing the traffic jams on a gradient highway. The theoretical findings have been verified through numerical simulation which confirm that the slope on a gradient highway significantly influence the traffic dynamics and traffic jam can be suppressed efficiently by considering the optimal current difference effect in the new lattice model.Arvind Kumar Gupta Sapna Sharma Poonam Redhu 2014Communications in Theoretical Physics2014,61,9:5
Soil organic carbon and phosphorus availability regulate abundance of culturable phosphate-solubilizing bacteria in paddy fields显示文摘Low availability of phosphorus(P) is a major constraint for optimal crop production, as P is mostly present in its insoluble form in soil. Therefore,phosphate-solubilizing bacteria(PSB) from paddy field soils of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, India were isolated, and their abundance was attempted to be correlated with the physicochemical characteristics of the soils. Ninety-four PSB were isolated on Pikovskaya’s agar medium, and quantitative phosphate solubilization was evaluated using NBRIP medium. The isolates solubilized P up to a concentration of 1 006 μg mL-1 from tricalcium phosphate with the secretion of organic acids. These isolates were identified by 16 S rRNA gene sequence comparison, and they belonged to Gammaproteobacteria(56 isolates),Firmicutes(28 isolates), Actinobacteria(8 isolates), and Alphaproteobacteria(2 isolates). Phylogenetic analysis confirmed the identification by clustering the isolates in the clade of the respective reference organisms. The correlation analysis between PSB abundance and physicochemical characteristics revealed that the PSB population increased with increasing levels of soil organic carbon, insoluble P, K+, and Mg2+. The promising PSB explored in this study can be further evaluated for their biofertilizer potential in the field and for their use as potent bio-inoculants.Arvind KUMAR Lal Chand RAI 2020Pedosphere2020,30,3:4
Gastric conduit perforation显示文摘As patients with carcinoma of the esophagus live longer, complications associated with the use of a gastric conduit are increasing. Ulcers form in the gastric conduit in 6.6% to 19.4% of patients. There are a few reports of perforation of a gastric conduit in the English literature. Almost all of these were associated with serious complications. We report a patient who developed a tension pneumothorax consequent to spontaneous perforation of an ulcer in the gastric conduit 7 years after the index surgery in a patient with carcinoma of the gastroesophageal junction. He responded well to conservative management. Complications related to a gastric conduit can be because of multiple factors. Periodic endoscopic surveillance of gastric conduits should be considered as these are at a higher risk of ulcer formation than a normal stomach. Long term treatment with proton pump inhibitors may decrease complications. There are no guidelines for the treatment of a perforated gastric conduit ulcer and the management should be individualized.Nilesh Patil Arvind Kaushal Amit Jain Sundeep Singh Saluja Pramod Kumar Mishra 2014World Journal of Clinical Cases2014,2,8:4
Assessment of biomass and net primary productivity of a dry tropical forest using geospatial technology显示文摘This study quantifies biomass, aboveground and belowground net productivity, along with additional environmental factors over a 2-3 year period in Barnawapara Sanctuary of Chhattisgarh, India through satellite remotesensing and GIS techniques. Ten sampling quadrates20×20, 5×5 and 1×1 m were randomly laid for overstorey (OS), understorey (US) and ground vegetation(GS), respectively. Girth of trees was measured at breast height and collar diameters of shrubs and herbs at 0.1 m height. Biomass was estimated using allometric regression equations and herb biomass by harvesting. Net primary productivity (NPP) was determined by Ssumming biomass increment and litter crop values. Aspect and slope influenced the vegetation types, biomass and NPP in different forests. Standing biomass and NPP varied from 18.6 to101.5 Mg ha^(-1) and 5.3 to 12.7 Mg ha^(-1) a^(-1), respectively,in different forest types. The highest biomass was found in dense mixed forest, while net production recoded in Teak forests. Both were lowest in degraded mixed forests of different forest types. OS, US and GS contributed 90.4, 8.7and 0.7%, respectively, for the total mean standing biomass in different forests. This study developed spectral models for the estimation of biomass and NPP using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index and other vegetation indices. The study demonstrated the potential of geospatial tools for estimation of biomass and net productivity of dry tropical forest ecosystem.Tarun Kumar Thakur S.L.Swamy Arvind Bijalwan Mammohan J.R.Dobriyal 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,1:4
Multitract percutaneous nephrolithotomy in staghorn calculus显示文摘Staghorn calculi are branched stones which occupy a majority portion of the pelvicaliceal system. An untreated staghorn calculus over time can damage the kidney and deteriorate its function and/or cause life threatening sepsis.Total stone clearance is an important goal in order to eradicate any infective focus, relieve obstruction, prevent recurrence and preserve the kidney function.Percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL)is currently the accepted first-line treatment option for staghorn calculi. The options available are single-tract PCNL with an auxiliary procedure like shockwave lithotripsy,single-tract PCNL with flexible nephroscopy,or multitract PCNL.Each has its own pros and cons. But the ultimate goal of treatment for any patient with staghorn calculi should be safety,cost-effectiveness,and to achieve total stone clearance. With this article,we review the management of staghorn calculi with multiple percutaneous(“multitract”)access, its advantages and disadvantages and its current position by studying the various published materials across the globe.Arvind P.Ganpule MNaveen Kumar Reddy SBSudharsan Shaishav BShah Ravindra BSabnis Mahesh RDesai 2020Asian Journal of Urology2020,7,2:4
Nonlinear analysis of traffic jams in an anisotropic continuum model显示文摘This paper presents our study of the nonlinear stability of a new anisotropic continuum traffic flow model in which the dimensionless parameter or anisotropic factor controls the non-isotropic character and diffusive influence. In order to establish traffic flow stability criterion or to know the critical parameters that lead,on one hand,to a stable response to perturbations or disturbances or,on the other hand,to an unstable response and therefore to a possible congestion,a nonlinear stability criterion is derived by using a wavefront expansion technique. The stability criterion is illustrated by numerical results using the finite difference method for two different values of anisotropic parameter. It is also been observed that the newly derived stability results are consistent with previously reported results obtained using approximate linearisation methods. Moreover, the stability criterion derived in this paper can provide more refined information from the perspective of the capability to reproduce nonlinear traffic flow behaviors observed in real traffic than previously established methodologies.Arvind Kumar Gupta Sapna Sharma 2010Chinese Physics B2010,19,11:3

Molecular docking studies of anti-cancerous candidates in Hippophae rhamnoides and Hippophae salicifolia显示文摘Actinorhizal plants contain numerous antioxidants that may play a crucial role in preventing the formation of tumors.H-Ras p21,a member of the Ras-GTPase family,is a promising target to treat various kinds of cancers. An in silico docking study was carried out to identify the inhibitory potential of compounds of these plants against H-Ras by using Discovery Studio 3.5 and by using Autodock 4.2.Docking studies revealed that four compounds,isorhamnetin-7-rhamnoside,quercetin-3-glucoside-7-rhamnoside(present in H.rhamnoides),zeaxanthin, and translutein(present in H.salicifolia) significantly bind with binding energies-17.1534,-14.7936,-10.2105 and-17.2217 Kcal/mol,respectively,even though they slightly deviate from Lipinski's rule.Absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity(ADME/tox) analyses of these compounds and their stereoisomers showed that they were less toxic and non-mutagenic.Amongst them,isorhamntein-7-rhamnoside showed hepatotoxicity.Hence, these compounds can be further investigated in vivo to optimize their formulation and concentration and to develop potential chemical entities for the prevention and treatment of cancers.Talambedu Usha Sushil Kumar Middha Arvind Kumar Goyal Mahesh Karthik DA Manoj Syed Faizan Peyush Goyal HP Prashanth Veena Pande 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,5:3
在在印度的心血管的风险因素的地区性的变化: 印度心手表显示文摘 Cardiovascular disease(CVD) is an important cause of mortality and morbidity in India.Mortality statistics and morbidity surveys indicate substantial regional variations in CVD prevalence and mortality rates.Data from the Registrar General of India reported greater ageadjusted cardiovascular mortality in southern and eastern states of the country.Coronary heart disease(CHD) mortality is greater in south India while stroke is more common in the eastern Indian states.CHD prevalence is higher in urban Indian populations while stroke mortality is similar in urban and rural regions.Case-control studies in India have identified that the common major risk factors account for more than 90% of incident myocardial infarctions and stroke. The case-control INTERHEART and INTERSTROKE studies reported that hypertension, lipid abnormalities, smoking, obesity, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, low fruit and vegetable intake, and psychosocial stress are as important in India as in other populations of the world.Individual studies have reported that there are substantial regional variations in risk factors in India. At a macro-level these regional variations in risk factors explain some of the regional differences in CVD mortality. However, there is need to study the prevalence of multiple cardiovascular risk factors in different regions of India and to correlate them with variations in CVD mortality using a uniform protocol. There is also a need to determine the 'causes of the causes' or fundamental determinants of these risk factors. The India Heart Watch study has been designed to study socioeconomic, anthropometric and biochemical risk factors in urban populations in different regions of the country in order to identify regional differences.Rajeev Gupta Soneil Guptha Krishna Kumar Sharma Arvind Gupta Prakash Deedwania 2012World Journal of Cardiology2012,4,4:3
Prevalence of excessive internet use and its correlation with associated psychopathology in 11th and 12th grade students显示文摘Background Globally, the number of internet users has crossed the three-billion mark, while in India users grew over 17% in the first 6 months of 2015 to 354 million. This study presented a background on internet use and the existence of excessive internet use. Aim To study the extent of internet use in 11th and 12th grade students and the psychopathology, if any, associated with excessive internet use. Methods 426 students who met the inclusion criteria were recruited from 11 th and 12th grade classes from Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, India, and were assessed by Young's Internet Addiction Test and the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire. Results Among the 426 students, the mean internet addiction total score was 36.63 (20.78), which indicated mild level of internet addiction. 1.41%(six students) was diagnosed as excessive internet users, while 30.28% and 23.94% were classified as moderate and mild internet users, respectively. The prevalence of internet addiction between gender was 58.22% in males and 41.78% in females. While both positive (prosocial) and negative (hyperactivity, emotional, conduct and peer problem) impacts of internet use were reported by students, in the current study excessive use of internet had a negative impact on students' lives as compared with positive impact, which was statistically significant (p<0.0001). Conclusion Excessive internet use led to abnormal behaviours which cause negative consequences to users. Early diagnosis of risk factors related to excessive internet use, provides education about responsible use and supervision of students by family members.Nitin Kumar Arvind Kumar Subodh Kumar Mahto Manish Kandpal Smita Neelkanth Deshpande Parul Tanwar 2019General Psychiatry2019,32,2:3
Effects of Sr^(2+) substitution on the structural, dielectric, and piezoelectric properties of PZT-PMN ceramics显示文摘This study described the structural, dielectric, and piezoelectric behavior of Pb1-x Sr x[(Zr0.52Ti0.48)0.95(Mn1/3Nb2/3)0.05]O3ceramics(PSZT-PMN,x=0,0.025,0.050,and 0.075),prepared by a semi-wet route.X-ray diffraction, dielectric, and piezoelectric investigations were carried out to analyze the crystal structure. The relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss were both calculated as the functions of temperature. The room-temperature dielectric constant reaches a maximum for a Sr2+-modified PZT-PMN ceramic with an x value of 0.050,which corresponds to the morphotropic phase boundary(MPB).Raman spectroscopy studies also confirm the existence of this MPB for x=0.050.The piezoelectric strain coefficients(d33)value shows a maximum response for this composition. In addition, the phase transition temperature decreases significantly when the Sr2+concentration increases in the PZT-PMN ceramics.Arvind Kumar S.K. 16Analysis of the wave properties of a new two-lane continuum model with the coupling effect显示文摘A multilane extension of the single-lane anisotropic continuum model (GK model) developed by Gupta and Katiyar for traffic flow is discussed with the consideration of the coupling effect between the vehicles of different lanes in the instantaneous traffic situation and the lane-changing effect. The conditions for securing the linear stability of the new model are presented. The shock and the rarefaction waves, the local cluster effect and the phase transition are investigated through simulation experiments with the new model and are found to be consistent with the diverse nonlinear dynamical phenomena observed in a real traffic flow. The analysis also focuses on empirically observed twolane phenomena, such as lane usage inversion and the density dependence of the number of lane changes. It is shown that single-lane dynamics can be extended to multilane cases without changing the basic properties of the single-lane model. The results show that the new multilane model is capable of explaining some particular traffic phenomena and is in accordance with real traffic flow.Arvind Kumar Gupta Sapna Sharma 2012Chinese Physics B2012,21,1:2
Assessment of surface and subsurface waterlogging, water level fluctuations, and lithological variations for evaluating groundwater resources in Ganga Plains显示文摘In the present study, the multi-temporal satellite images of IRS P6 LISS III were used to map waterlogging dynamics over different seasons. An area of 594.36 km2(6.75%)and 4.17 km^(2)(0.04%)was affected by surface waterlogging during pre and postmonsoon season, respectively. The average annual groundwater level fluctuations were calculated using 18 years(1990-2007)pre and postmonsoon groundwater level data to identify the areas which are under groundwater induced waterlogging conditions. The soil map clearly indicates that salinity and sodicity exhibit the highest severity and occur in areas with shallow groundwater levels. The hydrogeomorphical units mapped using IRS P6 LISS III satellite images are flood plain, alluvial plain, paleochannels, and oxbow lakes. The study revealed that 44.65%areas have very good to excellent groundwater resources. The litholog data clearly indicate an alternating sequence of clay and sand in which deep aquifers made up of coarse sand would be best suited for adequate water supply and good groundwater quality. The integrated study utilizing digital spatial data pertaining to waterlogging, soil salinity, water level fluctuation, and lithological variation proved that planning of any surface and subsurface water resources development activity should be taken up after assessments of said parameters.Arvind Chandra Pandey Suraj Kumar Singh M.S.Nathawat Dipankar Saha 2013International Journal of Digital Earth2013,6,3:1
