1Antidiabetic activity of alcoholic leaves extract of Alangium lamarckii Thwaites on streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate antidiabetic potential of alcoholic leaves extract of Alangium lamarekii (A.lamarckii) on streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic rats.Methods:Oral glucose tolerance test was done by inducing hyperglycemic state via administration of glucose in water(2 g/kg).Single dose of alcoholic leaves extract of.4.lamarckii(250 and 500 mg/kg,p.o.) were administered to normoglycemic,hyperglycemic rats.Type 2 diabetes was induced by single intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide(110 mg/kg) followed by streptozotocin(65 mg/kg).The study also included estimations of blood plasma glucose,lipid profile,liver glycogen,body weight and antioxidant status in normal and diabetic rats.Results:Admistration of alcoholic extract of A.lamarekii at two dosage 250 and 500 rag/kg,p.o.did not showed any significant change in blood glucose level of normoglycemic rats(P>0.05).whereas,oral glucose tolerance test depicted reduction in blood glucose level(P<0.05).The streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced diabetic rats, significantly decreased the blood plasma glucose level(P<0.001) comparable to glibenclamide (10 mg/kg),restored the lipid profile and showed improvement in liver glycogen,body weight and antioxidant status in diabetic rats.Conclusions:Present finding demonstrated the significant antidiabetic activity of alcoholic leaves extract of.4.lamarekii.Rajesh Kumar Dinesh Kumar Pate Satyendra Kuldip Prasad Kirshnamurthy Sairam Siva Hemalatha 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,11:8

3Identification and characterization of microsatellite markers for yellow grouper Epinephelus awoara and bluelined hind Cephalopholis formosa显示文摘The wide distribution and color variation of grouper make it difficult not only to identify grouper species visually, but also to determine genetic structure of their populations, the latter being important implication for the design of adequate management program. One alternative for gathering information on these species is the use of molecular genetic markers. Here, we identified and characterized eight microsatellite markers from yellow grouper Epinephelus awoara and bluelined hind grouper Cephalopholis formosa. All these produced consistent polymerase chain reaction product, and seven loci were found to be highly variable. These loci were all composed of dinucleotide repeats, with the number of alleles ranging from 2 to 6, with heterozygosities ranging from 33% to 95% in E.awoara and from 25% to 100% in C.formosa. The high levels of variability observed should make these markers useful for population genetic studies of this two species, and potentially other Epinephelus and Cephalopholis. 5Ayurvedic concept of Shatkriyakala:a traditional knowledge of cancer pathogenesis and therapy显示文摘The term Kriyakala refers to the recognition of the stage of a disease's progress,which helps to determine appropriate measure to correct the imbalance in Doshas(biological factors).It is a compound expression,comprised of Kriya and Kala,where Kriya means the choice to treatment(medicine,food and daily-routine) used to improve the disturbance in Doshas,and Kala refers to the stage of progress of a disease.Sushruta,an ancient Indian surgeon,has described the concept of Kriyakala in Varnaprashnadhyaya,an ancient Vedic Sanskrit text,which seeks to explain the incidence of Varnas in terms of Doshic disturbances.Varna,in modern parlance,may be described as an inflammatory process that may lead ulceration and chronic inflammation,promoting all stages of carcinogenesis.Abnormal interactions between Prakriti(genotype) and environmental factors vitiate the Doshas and impair immunity,which can lead to aberrant cell growth and cancer.Moreover,the interaction between vitiated Doshas and weak Dhatus(body tissues) manifests as cancers of a specific organ.Shatkriyakala(six stages of progress of a disease),on the other hand,provides a framework to assess the cancer and its pathogenesis in different stages.According to Ayurvedic concepts,all cancer therapies treat the affected tissues indirectly by eliminating vitiated Doshas,rejuvenating Dhatus and restoring immunity in cancer patients.The present review describes the six stages of Shatkhyakala in detail,with an emphasis on research areas to validate the concept of Shatkhyakala.This traditional knowledge can be utilized with modern technologies to detect predisposition for cancer or diagnose cancer in its early stages.Ashutosh Chauhan Deepak Kumar Semwal Satyendra Prasad Mishra Ruchi Badoni Semwal 2017Journal of Integrative Medicine2017,15,2:3

12Synthesis and characterization of rare earth metal doped tungsten trioxide photocatalyst for degradation of Rhodamine B dye显示文摘Nowadays,it is concern for researchers that due to high recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers in tungsten trioxide(WO_(3)) nanoparticles,the future applications are limited in the field of photocatalysis.Herein we attempt to synthesize tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with different doping concentrations of lanthanum i.e.2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%.The synthesized samples were characterized by using various characterization techniques:X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence spectra(PL),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and UV-Vis spectroscopy.WO_(3) retains its monoclinic structure even after doping which was confirmed by XRD analysis.FTIR helps to descry functional groups present in the samples.The size of nanoparticles was calculated by using TEM.EDX confirms the absence of any impurity in the synthesized samples.Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of a large number of imperfections induced in the lattice of WO_(3).The rate of recombination was analyzed by photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy and is minimum in 4 wt% doping of lanthanum.The optical bandgap was calculated using UV-Vis spectroscopy and becomes narrow along with the doping concentrations.Intriguingly,it is found that doping of La in WO_(3) has considerably ameliorate the photocatalytic activity by reducing rate of recombination due to the trapping of electrons by defects introduced in the lattice.Photocatalytic decolorization of Rhodamine B(RhB) dye was performed and the values of c/c_0 and rate constant(k) confirm that the 4 wt% doping shows maximum degradation efficiency.The kinetic study for photodegradation of Rhodamine B was done by using various kinetic models and results show that the reaction follows first order kinetics very well.Therefore,optimum doping of lanthanum increases the decolorization ability of WO_(3) towards RhB dye.Pooja Nehra Amita Khatri Anil Kumar Satyendra Singh Pawan S.Rana 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,9:1
