Engineering Mesoporous Structure in Amorphous Carbon Boosts Potassium Storage with High Initial Coulombic Efficiency显示文摘Amorphous carbon shows great potential as an anode material for high-performance potassium-ion batteries;however, its abundant defects or micropores generally capture K ions, thus resulting in high irreversible capacity with low initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)and limited practical application.Herein, pore engineering via a facile self-etching strategy is applied to achieve mesoporous carbon(meso-C)nanowires with interconnected framework.Abundant and evenly distributed mesopores could provide short K^+ pathways for its rapid diffusion.Compared to microporous carbon with highly disordered structure, the meso-C with Zn-catalyzed short-range ordered structure enables more K^+to reversibly intercalate into the graphitic layers.Consequently, the mesoC shows an increased capacity by ~100 mAh g^-1 at 0.1 A g^-1,and the capacity retention is 70.7% after 1000 cycles at 1 A g^-1.Multiple in/ex situ characterizations reveal the reversible structural changes during the charging/discharging process.Particularly, benefiting from the mesoporous structure with reduced specific surface area by 31.5 times and less defects, the meso-C generates less irreversible capacity with high ICE up to 76.7%,one of the best reported values so far. This work provides a new perspective that mesopores engineering can effectively accelerate K^+ diffusion and enhance K^+ adsorption/intercalation storage.Ruiting Guo Xiong Liu Bo Wen Fang Liu Jiashen Meng Peijie Wu Jinsong Wu Qi Li Liqiang Mai 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:5
Beta-and Novel Delta-Coronaviruses Are Identified from Wild Animals in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Outbreaks of severe virus infections with the potential to cause global pandemics are increasingly concerning. One type of those commonly emerging and re-emerging pathogens are coronaviruses(SARS-Co V, MERS-Co V and SARS-Co V-2).Wild animals are hosts of different coronaviruses with the potential risk of cross-species transmission. However, little is known about the reservoir and host of coronaviruses in wild animals in Qinghai Province, where has the greatest biodiversity among the world's high-altitude regions. Here, from the next-generation sequencing data, we obtained a known beta-coronavirus(beta-Co V) genome and a novel delta-coronavirus(delta-Co V) genome from faecal samples of 29 marmots, 50 rats and 25 birds in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China in July 2019. According to the phylogenetic analysis, the beta-Co V shared high nucleotide identity with Coronavirus HKU24. Although the novel delta-Co V(Mt Co V) was closely related to Sparrow deltacoronavirus ISU42824, the protein spike of the novel delta-Co V showed highest amino acid identity to Sparrow coronavirus HKU17(73.1%). Interestingly, our results identified a novel host(Montifringilla taczanowskii) for the novel delta-Co V and the potential cross-species transmission. The most recent common ancestor(t MRCA) of Mt Co Vs along with other closest members of the species of Coronavirus HKU15 was estimated to be 289 years ago. Thus, this study increases our understanding of the genetic diversity of beta-Co Vs and deltaCo Vs, and also provides a new perspective of the coronavirus hosts.Wentao Zhu Jing Yang Shan Lu Ruiting Lan Dong Jin Xue-lian Luo Ji Pu Shusheng Wu Jianguo Xu 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,3:3
Adaptive Multiscale Method for Two-dimensional Nanoscale Adhesive Contacts显示文摘There are two separate traditional approaches to model contact problems: continuum and atomistic theory. Continuum theory is successfully used in many domains, but when the scale of the model comes to nanometer, continuum approximation meets challenges. Atomistic theory can catch the detailed behaviors of an individual atom by using molecular dynamics (MD) or quantum mechanics, although accurately, it is usually time-consuming. A multiscale method coupled MD and finite element (FE) is presented. To mesh the FE region automatically, an adaptive method based on the strain energy gradient is introduced to the multiscale method to constitute an adaptive multiscale method. Utilizing the proposed method, adhesive contacts between a rigid cylinder and an elastic substrate are studied, and the results are compared with full MD simulations. The process of FE meshes refinement shows that adaptive multiscale method can make FE mesh generation more flexible. Comparison of the displacements of boundary atoms in the overlap region with the results from full MD simulations indicates that adaptive multiscale method can transfer displacements effectively. Displacements of atoms and FE nodes on the center line of the multiscale model agree well with that of atoms in full MD simulations, which shows the continuity in the overlap region. Furthermore, the Von Mises stress contours and contact force distributions in the contact region are almost same as full MD simulations. The method presented combines multiscale method and adaptive technique, and can provide a more effective way to multiscale method and to the investigation on nanoscale contact problems.TONG Ruiting LIU Geng LIU Lan WU Liyan 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,3:2

A global synthesis of the effectiveness and ecological impacts of management interventions for Spartina species显示文摘Invasions by Spartina species pose serious threats to global coastal ecosystems.Although many studies have examined the effectiveness and ecological impacts of invasive Spartina management,no comprehensive global synthesis has been conducted to assess the effects of management on Spartina per se and on wider non-targets.Here,we conducted a global meta-analysis of 3,459 observations from 102 studies to quantify the effects of different management interventions(physical, chemical, biological, and integrated control)on Spartina per se and native biodiversity and environments. We found that physical measures quickly suppressed Spartina but that their effectiveness declined over time.By contrast, chemical measures decreased the abundance and growth of Spartina to a lesser degree in the early stage, but the effectiveness increased over time.Different management measures did not significantly decrease the diversity of native biota on the whole, but native-plant diversity significantly decreased with time after physical control.Different management measures did not affect abiotic factors differently. These results support the use of chemical measures to control invasive Spartina, although their effectiveness would depend on the time since the management intervention.Addressing the problem of Spartina regrowth following physical control requires improved techniques. We hold that initial states of invaders and subsequent environmental changes after management interventions should be weighed in evaluating control efficacy.Shengyu Wang Philip A.Martin Yan Hao William J.Sutherland Gorm E.Shackelford Jihua Wu Ruiting Ju Wenneng Zhou Bo Li 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,11:1
A carbazole-hemicyanine dye based ratiometric fluorescent probe for selective detection of bisulfite(HSO_3^-)in cells and C. elegans显示文摘Bisulfite(HSO_3) is an important sulfur dioxide(SO_2) derivative, which plays a major role in many physiological processes and is also closely associated with a variety of diseases. Thus the development of highly selective and sensitive fluorescent probes is essential to detect HSO_3 in living cells. In this work,we report the synthesis and analysis of a ratiometric fluorescent probe for selective detection of HSO_3 based on the 1,4-nucleophilic addition reaction with the carbazole as an electron donor(D) and aldehyde group as an electron acceptor(A). The addition of HSO_3 and other ions to our probe can be observed by UV vis and fluorescence spectrometry. Our investigation proved that the probe is highly selective and sensitive for HSO_3 and ratiometric changes. Moreover, the probe has good cell permeability and was successfully applied to the detection of exogenous HSO_3 in Hela cells and C. elegans.Keying Bi Rui Tan Ruiting Hao Lanxi Miao Yanqi He Xianghua Wu Junfeng Zhang Rui Xu 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,3:1
Tunable oxygen defect density and location for enhancement of energy storage显示文摘Defect engineering is in the limelight for the fabrication of electrochemical energy storage devices. However, determining the influence of the defect density and location on the electrochemical behavior remains challenging.Herein,self-organized TiO_(2)nanotube arrays(TNTAs)are synthesized by anodization, and their oxygen defect location and density are tuned by a controllable post-annealing process.TNTAs annealed at 600℃ in N2 exhibit the highest capacity(289.2 m Ah g^(-1)at 0.8 C)for lithium-ion storage, while those annealed at 900℃ in N2 show a specific capacitance of 35.6 m F cm^(-2)and stability above96%after 10,000 cycles for supercapacitor.Ex situ electron paramagnetic resonance spectra show that the surface-exposed oxygen defects increase, but the bulk embedded oxygen defects decrease with increasing annealing temperature.Density functional theory simulations reveal that a higher density of bulk oxygen defects corresponds to higher localized electrons states, which upshift the Fermi level and facilitate the lithium intercalation kinetic process.Meanwhile, differential charge density calculation indicates that the increase of surface oxygen defects in the anatase(101)plane leads to higher density excess electrons, which act as negative charge centers to enhance the surface potential for ion adsorption. This oxygen-deficient location and density tunable strategy introduce new opportunities for high-energy and high-power-density energy storage systems.Jun Chen Jiangao Li Ling Sun Zhong Lin Zhengguang Hu Hongtao Zhang Xiaoling Wu Dongbo Zhang Guoan Cheng Ruiting Zheng 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,8:0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.Angel Abusleme Thomas Adam Shakeel Ahmad Sebastiano Aiello Muhammad Akram Nawab Ali Fengpeng An Guangpeng An Qi An Giuseppe Andronico Nikolay Anfimov Vito Antonelli Tatiana Antoshkina Burin 9Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in adult patients with sepsis and septic shock: Why, how, when, and for whom显示文摘Sepsis and septic shock remain the leading causes of death in intensive care units. Some patients with sepsis fail to respond to routine treatment and rapidly progress to refractory respiratory and circulatory failure, necessitating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO).However, the role of ECMO in adult patients with sepsis has not been fully established.According to existing studies,ECMO may be a viable salvage therapy in carefully selected adult patients with sepsis. The choice of venovenous, venoarterial,or hybrid ECMO modes is primarily determined by the patient’s oxygenation and hemodynamics(distributive shock with preserved cardiac output, septic cardiomyopathy(left, right,or biventricular heart failure),or right ventricular failure caused by acute respiratory distress syndrome).Veno-venous ECMO can be used in patients with sepsis and severe acute respiratory distress syndrome when conventional mechanical ventilation fails, and early application of veno-arterial ECMO in patients with sepsis-induced refractory cardiogenic shock may be critical in improving their chances of survival. When ECMO is indicated, the choice of an appropriate mode and determination of the optimal timing of initiation and weaning are critical, particularly in an experienced ECMO center.Furthermore, some special issues, such as ECMO flow, anticoagulation, and antibiotic therapy, should be noted during the management of ECMO support.Hongling Zhang Youdong Xu Xin Huang Shunyin Yang Ruiting Li Yongran Wu Xiaojing Zou Yuan Yu You Shang 2024Journal of Intensive Medicine2024,4,1:0
Structure design and load test of the small prototype for the JUNO Central Detector显示文摘Introduction The structure of the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)CentralDetector(CD)was designed using finite element methods(FEM).The structure of the small JUNOCDprototypewas also designed using the same structural scheme and method as those of the CD,and the load test was carried out after the accomplishment of structure design and manufacturing. Methods The load test can help verify the performance and reliability of the mechanical monitoring system and liquid filling system of the CD,verify the consistency of FEM calculations and axial force measurement results of the sensors, and accumulate experience for the installation of the connecting bars. Conclusion The measurement scheme was considered and determined, and the connecting bars’axial forces under different liquid filling conditions were measured and compared with the FEM results, the consistencies of which were good. The mechanical monitoring system and liquid filling system of theCDwere verified during the load test, which met the requirements of design and experiment.Xiaoyu Yang Yuekun Heng Wei He Xiaoyan Ma Lei Yang Jiajie Ling Zhi Wu Kaixi Huang Caishen Wang Ruiting Lei Yatian Pei Xiaohui Qian 2022Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2022,6,4:0
Research Progress of HPV L1 Capsid Protein in Prediction of Cervical Lesions显示文摘Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignant gynecological tumors and has the second highest incidence of all malignancies in females.Chronic and persistent infection with High Risk Human Papillomavirus(HR-HPV)is the main cause of cervical cancer. There is a distinct lack of methodology by which to determine whether cervical epithelial dysplasia is cancerous following HPV infection.HPV L1 capsid protein is a major structural protein of human papillomavirus(HPV),and it is the main target of the local cellular immune response aiming to combat human papillomavirus after HPV infection within cervical cells.Greater understanding of HPV L1 capsid protein and its association with cervical cytology, histopathology, patient age and human papillomavirus viral load has the potential to contribute toward improved the diagnosis and management of cervical cancer, providing useful information for gynecological clinicians in the hope of improving patient treatment and quality of life. This article reviews the predictive utility of HPV L1 capsid protein for cervical lesions.Jing Cheng Lin Xu Beibei Liu Biao Wang Xicui Long Zhihong Li Ruiting Wu Ruili Chen 2020Proceedings of Anticancer Research2020,4,6:0
Dynamic Changes of Antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19 Patients at Early Stage of Outbreak显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by SARS-CoV-2,has spread around the world with high mortality. To diagnose promptly and accurately is the vital step to effectively control its pandemic.Dynamic characteristics of SARSCoV-2-specific antibodies which are important for diagnosis of infection have not been fully demonstrated. In this retrospective,single-center,observational study,we enrolled the initial 131 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Jin-Yin-Tan Hospital who had at least one-time antibody tested during their hospitalization. The dynamic changes of IgM and IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein in 226 serum samples were detected by ELISA.The sensitivities of IgM and IgG ELISA detection were analyzed.Result showed that the sensitivity of the IgG ELISA detection(92.5%)was significantly higher than that of the IgM(70.8%)(P\0.001).The meantimes of seroconversion for IgM and IgG were6 days and 3 days, respectively. The IgM and IgG antibody levels peaked at around 18 days and 23 days, and then IgM fell to below the baseline level at about day 36,whereas IgG maintained at a relatively high level. In conclusion, antibodies should be detected to aid in diagnosis of COVID-19 infection.IgG could be a sensitive indicator for retrospective diagnosis and contact tracing, while IgM could be an indicator of early infection.Huaqing Shu Shuzhen Wang Shunan Ruan Yaxin Wang Jiancheng Zhang Yin Yuan Hong Liu Yongran Wu Ruiting Li Shangwen Pan Yaqi Ouyang Shiying Yuan Peng Zhou You Shang 2020Virologica Sinica2020,35,6:0

Modulation of Antiviral Immunity and Therapeutic Efficacy by 25-Hydroxycholesterol in Chronically SIV-Infected, ART-Treated Rhesus Macaques显示文摘Cholesterol-25-hydroxylase(CH25 H)and its enzymatic product 25-hydroxy cholesterol(25 HC)exert broadly antiviral activity including inhibiting HIV-1 infection. However, their antiviral immunity and therapeutic efficacy in a nonhuman primate model are unknown. Here,we report that the regimen of 25 HC combined with antiretroviral therapy(ART),provides profound immunological modulation towards inhibiting viral replication in chronically SIVmac239-infected rhesus macaques(RMs).Compared to the ART alone, this regimen more effectively controlled SIV replication, enhanced SIVspecific cellular immune responses, restored the ratio of CD4/CD8 cells, reversed the hyperactivation state of CD4^(+)T cells, and inhibited the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines by CD4^(^(+))and CD8^(+)T lymphocytes in chronically SIVinfected RMs.Furthermore, the in vivo safety and the preliminary pharmacokinetics of the 25 HC compound were assessed in this RM model.Taken together, these assessments help explain the profound relationship between cholesterol metabolism, immune modulation, and antiviral activities by 25 HC.These results provide insight for developing novel therapeutic drug candidates against HIV-1 infection and other related diseases.Chunxiu Wu Jin Zhao Ruiting Li Fengling Feng Yizi He Yanjun Li Runhan Huang Guangye Li Heng Yang Genhong Cheng Ling Chen Feng Ma Pingchao Li Caijun Sun 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:0
