1The dynamics of the piglet gut microbiome during the weaning transition in association with health and nutrition显示文摘Background: Understanding the composition of the microbial community and its functional capacity during weaning is important for pig production as bacteria play important roles in the pig's health and growth performance. However,limited information is available regarding the composition and function of the gut microbiome of piglets in early-life.Therefore, we performed 16 S rRNA gene and whole metagenome shotgun sequencing of DNA from fecal samples from healthy piglets during weaning to measure microbiome shifts, and to identify the potential contribution of the early-life microbiota in shaping piglet health with a focus on microbial stress responses, carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism.Results: The analysis of 16 S rR NA genes and whole metagenome shotgun sequencing revealed significant compositional and functional differences between the fecal microbiome in nursing and weaned piglets. The fecal microbiome of the nursing piglets showed higher relative abundance of bacteria in the genus Bacteroides with abundant gene families related to the utilization of lactose and galactose. Prevotel a and Lactobacil us were enriched in weaned piglets with an enrichment for the gene families associated with carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism. 5Interplays of liver fibrosis-associated microRNAs:Molecular mechanisms and implications in diagnosis and therapy显示文摘microRNAs(miRNAs)are a class of non-coding functional small RNA composed of 21e23 nucleotides,having multiple associations with liver fibrosis.Fibrosis-associated miRNAs are roughly classified into pro-fibrosis or anti-fibrosis types.The former is capable of activating hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)by modulating pro-fibrotic signaling pathways,mainly including TGF-b/SMAD,WNT/b-catenin,and Hedgehog;the latter is responsible for maintenance of the quiescent phenotype of normal HSCs,phenotypic reversion of activated HSCs(aHSCs),inhibition of HSCs proliferation and suppression of the extracellular matrix-associated gene expression.Moreover,several miRNAs are involved in regulation of liver fibrosis via alternative mechanisms,such as interacting between hepatocytes and other liver cells via exosomes and increasing autophagy of aHSCs.Thus,understanding the role of these miRNAs may provide new avenues for the development of novel interventions against hepatic fibrosis.Hong Li Tingli Liu Yongchun Yang William C.Cho Robin J.Flynn Majid Fasihi Harandi Houhui Song Xuenong Luo Yadong Zheng 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,4:1

7An ultra-low concentration electrolyte with fluorine-free bulky anions for stable potassium metal batteries显示文摘Potassium metal battery is a promising alternative to Li-ion battery for large-scale energy storage due to the abundant potassium resources and high energy density.However,it suffers from rapid capacity fading and safety issues due to the uncontrolled dendrite growth.Herein,we design a fluorine-free ultra-low concentration electrolyte(ULCE)with the super bulky[BPh_(4)]^(−) anions for stable potassium metal battery.In this special electrolyte,the migration rate of K+in the electrolyte is about six times faster than that of the[BPh_(4)]^(−) anions because of the super bulky structure of the[BPh_(4)]^(−) anions,thus resulting in a high K^(+)transference number of 0.76.This high transference number can effectively make up for the deficiency of K^(+)in ULCE for ensuring the normal operation of the potassium metal battery.In addition,the improved transference number can also promote the uniform distribution of K^(+)flux on the surface of the K metal anode,resulting in uniform K deposition.As a result,this electrolyte achieves a high K plating/stripping Coulombic efficiency of 92.6%over 200 cycles and a stable discharging/charging for 100 cycles under the full battery configuration(K used as the anode and perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride used as the cathode).Qinguang Liu Mei Geng Ting Yu Li Zhang Changdong Wu Jie Liu Shulin Zhao Qingxin Yang Robin Song Jingjuan Ye Fenfen Wang Yuping Wu Dengji Xiao Yuhui Chen 2023Nano Research2023,16,6:0
